To all the people saying the speeds aren’t that impressive, you know they’re driving on salt right? Not pavement, not concrete but salt. Not a solid sheet of rock salt but like coarse table salt. Let that marinate for a minute.
I'd really like to see them at FULL SPEED, not just the takeoff.
Hard to understand why Hollywood hasn't made a (Major Motion Picture) about the life, accomplishments and the murder of Mickey Thompson & his Challenger 1.....the first American to break 400 mph back in 1960 !
I watched a few runs, however, without the classes each vehicle was in it was just fast cars and got a bit boring. The first was speed Demon at over 400 mph, however, later cars were slower and did record-breaking runs, so, I assume there are classes, or, the runs were shown out of sequence. A bit of info (even text) on each streamliner and what class it was in, then the run would have made it a bit more interesting. People that know the sport will probably know each streamliner and a bit about them, however, if you want to get new people in you need to educate them on the sport.
You better pray I never catch you crossing that orange line ever again unless you have your wristband on. I won't warn you again.
I remember when 406 was tops.
Every gearhead needs to go to Speed Week at least once. If you haven't been there, put it on your bucket list. You will not be disappointed.
OH MY ! I really wish I wasn't 3000 miles from there. I would never leave. Anyone need a one legged 68 year old pourer of pure silver, machinist, general mechanic, fabricator ? Thanks for this post. Love that sound.
I thought that Bonneville was shutting down because the salt was gone
"watch out for the speed demon!"
The most appealing thing about these cars is the fact they are all so different. True works of Art🔥
Always great watching the Salt. I remember seeing the Green Monster (on tv) doing runs many decades ago. Glad to see it getting the attention it deserves again.👍 Beautiful looking machines.
The body work on some of those cars is amazing. Really great fab work
It's wonderful to see the creativity and rewarding speed results on good salt again.
Fantastic. Thanks for sharing. Hope to be there next year, If we can travel. Salt looks amazing.
Such a special and historic location for man and machine. Definitely on my bucket list for visiting.Really appreciate the great video.
There were some nice streamliners this year! Good to see that the salt was in good condition as well. I HAVE to get there next year. Thanks for the coverage!
It's nice to see & hear them run. Thanks for all the "walk a rounds" you did, Great.
My wife and I went to speed week in the mid 70's, the variety of vehicles was fantastic!!!!.....looks like even better today!!!!....Wish there was coverage of the other interesting vehicles, not just the record breakers......Thanks for the great video!!
