To everyone saying it's either fake or the same as the Bleach version: this was used on Bleach but they added backing vocals and cleaned up the mix. The Bleach versions of Floyd the Barber and Downer came from this session as well (January 23, 1988 at Reciprocal Recording Studios with Jack Endino as the producer). Yes Dale Crover was the drummer for this session, hence why he's credited on Bleach.
Awesome. I love this song. Strange shape of an F chord. Kurt was great at taking strange shapes and chords and just single notes on the guitar and using them perfectly. His style has been a major influence on my song writing. I love the rarities like this, Beeswax, Hairspray Queen, Blandest, Sifting, etc.
To everyone saying it's fake - this is probably from Dale's Demo, Nirvana's second demo recorded on 23th January 1988 with Dale Crover. This is the raw mix, without overdubbed vocal and drums sounds much different
It's not even that the mix is that rough - it's definitely an early mix - it's just that this is a bootlegged copy from a tape source and the tape quality is bad.
“ imma saddddddd soullllllll” hey all you Nirvana rockers , i am i super nirvana fan and started a band. i like alot of the old nirvana like fecal matter , insecticide and bleach my bands name is SEDATED SENSATION , if you like nirvana i think you might like this too . much love ❤️
ONLY A STRANGER it sounds like it’s recorded from an English TV show. Kurt was known to record from TV to make clips (e.g. montage of heck). I think it’s some 70-80s English TV show.
this is 100% the same version from bleach - just that it was messed around with to try and fool people. seen the likes of this before but some still fall for it.
This sounds just like the bleach version. Just a rougher mix.
It’s the same recording
@@queenanneslace5085 it is the original before editing

Facts
Yea some people are just dumbasses.
Thank you for clearing that up
I'd like to find a vocalist who can recreate this sound. Doesn't exist. People don't understand how unique Kurt really was
Layne Staley (my favorite vocalist) was heavily inspired by this song. (Listen to Angry Chair)
Both excellent vocalists
Each unique in their own way
He was perfect
He doesn’t get the credit he deserves for signing and playing at the same time
this version rocks. It never needed cleaning up. You cant clean paper cuts

An "F" and "B". It is a stubborn F kind of thing. But makes the chorus function.
Hair spray queen is amazing
@@JohnGarnerIII that song is just psychotic. I love it

I think this is the best Nirvana find I've ever found. Thank you!
So much better than the sped up Outcesticide version

@@schismpeople8336 yes
@@prpwnage9296 Nevermind then

I like how in the chorus it has this Aero Zepplin type chord shape
whole song sounds like aero zeppelin

That scream from 3:18 on gives me goosebumps every damn time. Favorite scream ever.

This is pure gold. Nirvana at it's best!
i dont care what everybody says, i just love that i can hear kurt so clearly on 3:08
Love the rough mix. Even if it is the performance of the album version I know by heart :P Funny that its functionally easier to hear.
The Swans Influence is here
Oni64 and melvins
Oni64 and Black Sabbath
YES. the verse is swans all around.
Swans? I dont see anything similar here.

great clear version!
Actually it isn't he clear version but this is 8 years old and you probably don't even use this channel

It's funny to read the title of this video because the studio version of this song IS the demo. LOL
Who is that saying "rubbish" at 4:06?

Demo?Really?
a rough mix pretty much
It’s the version before they put it through the sound clearer thing and it doesn’t have backing vocals
the most alice in chains-ish song of nirvana
Actually more sludgy like Melvins than Alice in Chains
nothing like alice in chains except its slow
The riff in chorus does sound like Alice in chains
@@scarykurapika100yago2 which was first?
@@prpwnage9296 Both Nirvana and AIC started in 1989.. I'm just saying this song sounded like AIC.
Literally just the same as the studio album except shittier quality and not mixed as well.

yeah, this is almost the same take plus backing vocal and this is mixed/mastered for Bleach
