- 'Scentless Apprentice' Recorded 1/19/93. A demo recording of the track from 'In Utero'. Dave Grohl is credited with coming up with the song's riff, and the lyrics are said to be inspired by a favourite novel of Kurt's titled 'Perfume' by Patrick Suskind. Most of these are converted from lossless audio .FLAC files.

It’s Kurt’s song. Dave wrote the drum bit but then he did have a tendency to do so.

Dave wrote the main riff, yes. From there, Kurt wrote the ascending part of the verse and the lyrics/melody and Krist came up with the pre-chorus. Only song in their catalogue that was written like this, so yeah, pretty cool.

@@vanessaespinoza7365came up with PART of the riff, the (as Kurt described it) "boneheaded" drop D power chords. "Write" isn't the best word to use here... although it's very similar to Dave Grohls songwriting style. Guy is just plain boring, treats music like an assembly line instead of a product of passion.

it's kind of a demo, it's not meant to be listened to by the general public, it's just for the author to get a feel for the style of the song.
Wow, what a shitty version of this song. The overall recording is distorted due to over modulation. It's like they used cheap RadioShack microphones or something terrible like that.
