You can use a 9v battery on the outside to provide power to use your fob/card/phone.

george semple No but iv installed 4 in the course of my work none lasted more than a few days and when you phone the number they give you for the helpline you get no reply . I'm still waiting on them getting in contact from 5 month ago . They are very flimsy and not worth the money unless you want to pay for a bleeping blue light and phoning a locksmith to get you back into the house.

      Hi ,
Yes they will but you will need a Z wave module that will work with your Home Automation system like Alexa or the the HomePod or even Yale have another smart hub you can get.
I’ve had mine now for 3 months works perfectly fine plus I fitted it myself.

Neil Murray if you have installed 4 and none of them work , you are obviously incompetent and I feel sorry for people paying you to install the lock . They deserve a proper tradesmen .

Not impressed so far! Definitely would suggest only fitting it mon - fri daytime & when you have LOADS of free time to phone helpline - & wait! I fitted it bank holiday weekend - most popular time for diy of course - then had to unfit it because it didn't work & will have to wait 3 days until tuesday in hope they can tell me why it's not working or arrange replacement!
Fitting appeared to go well, all seems straight forward. I read manual, got everything ready, watched video, etc & seemed pretty clear it shouldn't take long & it didn't. But then the problems started as the motor made noises, it just never moved the lock! It did lock the handles [on green? red unlocked - doesn't seem to tell you if that is how should be] but wouldn't unlock with the paired card. Tried again, this time with tag, that didn't work either. Still lock doesn't move with motor, only thumb latch locks/unlocks!

Interesting - that's EXACTLY the problem that I have! Did you ever get a solution? I am going to have to take the damned thing off again because if I go out, I can't get back in again!

@@bencampbell2041 Yes! Buried in the small print on the website is the fact that the lock is incompatible with Auto fire or Aveantis locking mechanisms. Needless to say , I had Avantis! Bought a Yale-compatible mechanism - and sold the Avantis one on eBay! Lock now works perfectly and has been completely reliable for months - touch wood!

Ridiculous design and security fail. Unless you operate the deadlock each time you go BOTH in or out it means anyone can come inside from the outside. Without the deadlock operated it acts just like an internal door mechanism. If you have got a household with kids coming in and out all day, who forget the upward motion to deadlock it, it's a chocolate teapot

    • @chrishigham512

Thank you for this comment. My old keyless yale door lock has failed (similar model to this but with a keypad, failsafe key, 9v backup and IR fobs). My old model auto locks after 10secs. If this one doesn't then that's a serious backwards step.

It's not reliable, our team were able to advise a method to open it without authorisation. Very strong yet bad design
