Thanks to your concise instructions Mel, I’ve mastered it! I wish we could have had these detailed instructions on all Cutting Craftorium USB’s as I have most of them in my collection and some have been little used. I think it’s likely that I shall take another look at them now you have given me confidence. Thank you so very much.

Will keep watching to drum it into my head. Basically it’s understanding compound paths & canvas capabilities.
If I had my time again Graphic Design would have been my choice but as you say it’s learning what you need & building on that.
Worked on computers all my working life but it’s one thing doing it as a job , others looking after the peripherals like printers, what the software is capable of, following manuals training meetings etc for as in my case income tax, not creating anything except paper with figures on it.
I can use a computer fairly well it’s working around what you are allowed to do obviously companies want to protect their sources & designs etc so just because you can doesn’t mean you are allowed or as in this case files are protected etc by saving their files into a compound path. Also paper is an area where you have to understand it in itself is a complicated business again I did a bit of work picked factories brains & tryed to find out the best for the task at hand. Similarly printers, inks, tools. When create &Craft began I bought a lot of stuff but over the years & a lot of money later worked out what I needed which was not what I thought I needed. Quality tools, the correct paper, understanding how computers printers cutting machines work together or not. I have no colour skills but I just need to do what I want & see as nice not what others think, although I know there are some really brilliant designers I’d rather cobble together my own disasters. It’s a shame we don’t trust our instincts more as individuals rather then follow everyone else. I am happy with some plagiarism fiddled about with by me so your school of thinking is right up my street. Must be a Lancashire thing. 😂

Hello Mel. I have watched your series on learning to use the scan n cut dx and it was wonderful. Thanks so much. I came across a design space tutorial where a non-layered mandala was being turn into a 3d layered cut file using a contour tool. I've tried to follow that process in canvas workspace with no luck. It is worked within the layers section of design space, but canvas workspace does not have a contour tool. How then can this be done otherwise within brother canvas workspace? I'm picking your brain. You are such an inspiration with this cutting machine that I love. Hope you can help. Thanks.

Marvellous. Sometimes it helps me to watch but see words too going forward after I haven’t done it for a while can then connect the dots in my head. Generally words alone don’t help but once seen then later on in time after seeing & reading can then work out the words. Sound a bit thick but learning & my memory are a bit disjointed. Thankyou for your clear explanations. 😀

Mel, I love your tutorials. I never realized that my machine could do so much. A question or 2…you talk about USB’s and books. Where do I get these items. Many thanks.

Thank you, your instructions are very detailed and exactly what i need. I’m a newbie though, with a DX machine, and would like to start at the very beginning of your videos. Can you tell me which is the first? I want to do this right. Thanks!

Hi Susan, if you go to the Designer Doilies playlist, there is an overview of the USB and introduction, followed by a tutorial which breaks it down. If you watch these first, the rest can be watched in any order you wish!

I have never imagined anything more complicated for just making a bunch of circles. I just want to cut out some small rings and it looks like it takes several years to learn how to do it on that software.

Hi, I love your tutorials. Can you do a tutorial on making a photo tile. I see them for Cricut but not for the scan and cut. Thank you

How do you purchase the USB’s if you are in the USA? This looks amazing, we have nothing like this in US.

Hi Allison, as we don't develop the software, we recommend asking Brother directly. Sorry we can't be of more help
