- Thanks for tuning in to another Episode Of Fishing Is Therapy. On Todays episode I teach you how to make a DIY Live Bait Tank for your Jon Boat or any boat. This was a simple but effective addition to my jon boat that has changed the game for me especially during the hot summer months and with transporting my live bait.

I love ole Yeller! Nice video.
I love the name and concept. I had trouble during warmer temps keeping the bait alive, so I added a foam reflective insulation and call mine, Banana Pudding! How is Ole Yeller holding up?
@@fishingistherapy Doing real good. I'm ready to put some bait in it soon. Can you send me a link to the battery you're using. I'm using a big boat battery and it's heavy. I also discovered coffee creamer will reduce the suds on top.
@gillikinsisland Yes I have found coffee creamer to be very effective especially when I fish with blueback herring. I currently use a Amped outdoors 30ah battery but before I used a combination of my cigarette lighter port on my switch panel for the recirculation pump and a Nocqua 10ah battery for the filter and additional aerator I added, now I just run the 30ah and get a full day of fishing out of it. @@fishingistherapy thanks. I'll be ordering that.
Great video, lots of information thank you!
Thanks. Glad you found the info and video informative.
Another quality video.... like the rigging. About to build a smaller one for some mullet and pilchards
Thanks, glad you appreciate it. Yeah I have been thinking of building another rig that's a but smaller, maybe out of a Gatorade cooler
Looks good to me bruh...It will work just right... Looking forward to it on the next video 👍🏽✌🏽❤️🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
Thanks. I am looking forward to putting out that content soon.
Nice, you and George are set up now.
Now it's just time to get better at throwing the cast net.
Great build. Those cig plugs go out too easily. Even the "good" ones only last a couple years. Cut those off, and rig your stuff with 12 gauge 2 pin quick disconnect plugs. I have been wiring john boats for over 20 years and have never had to replace one that wasn't grossly abused.
Thanks for sharing your wisdom and expertise. I have since this video switched to 12 Guage 2 pin quick disconnect as it give me the ability to connect or disconnect different batteries. That's valuable, I will keep this in mind when doing any wiring with a cig plug involved.
Nice video man (sunfish assassin sent me here) he’s been talking about about this bait tank for the herring and shad and what not. I also have a 14 foot John boat but it isn’t as technologically advanced as yours is. Keep up the fishing, tight lines ✌️🐟🎣
Btw if you want to attach that battery to your live well use Velcro
Thanks for checking out the bait tank Cole. Glad you like the build. I will use your tip and attsch the battery with velcro. Do you have bait tank your jon boat?
@@fishingistherapy nope when I catch shad with the castnet I fill up a 5gal bucket about 1/5 of the way and my grandpa helps me put them in there after catching them. We don’t mind if they’re dead the catfish aren’t picky
@Colelikesfishing Makes total sense. I will be getting into catfishing more this year. Hope you catch some good ones!
@@fishingistherapy thank you and hopes to you to catch some nice ones as well

💪🏾💯
Nice job… bud
Thanks man, glad you appreciate and enjoy the build content.
How long that battery run
Depends on the amp draw. On a fish finder it runs around 8-10 hours. On my bait tank around 6 hours non stop.
Did you add the insulation?
Yes, it worked out great. I used foil insulated bubble wrap with sticky adhesive. Here is the link.
www.amazon.com/dp/B085642G7M?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It's was the only one that would stick to the tank. I used foil tape to ensure it stayed on.
You learned to throw a cast net yet?
Getting better at it. Just haven't cast for bait lately. But I'm definitely improving.
@@fishingistherapy same here. I practice everyday.
Do you practice in the yard or at the lake?
@@fishingistherapy Chris...I practice everyday in backyard. Summer so stinking hot...need to change things up regarding fishing. Live bait the ticket...we talking shad for catfish.
Yes I am better at throwing the net but I thik if you practice everday you simply get better at it. It's kind of like throwing a pizza.....watch lots of U tube videos.
U rock you man thanks for video
I definitely will practice more and make a video once I get good. Until then, enjoy yourself !
