      It's not a spoiler, if you truly believe in God this is where he wanted your mind to be in that very moment to seek for him in comparison to this information rendered through someone else with similar intentions and callings like you. I also struggled with becoming a priest and I surrendered my life to God to just direct me effortlessly and I ended up becoming a professional soccer player. Then while in in soccer I helped more people at that time to now than I probably would have helped being a priest. Be as open minded as possible without any rigidity and God will give you the right direction of where he wishes to use you more whether as a mother/wife or a nun. Do not force anything on either side. He will take you where your mind feels more at peace and more resourceful to His other children. May God's mercy and peace be with you.

    Thank you for sharing your experience. It was beautiful to hear. Many years ago I had wanted to join a convent but God was not calling me to that vocation. I eventually met a man who had wanted to be a priest and wasn't called either and we have now been married 16 years and have 3 children. God bless you on your journey.

    I felt like I was lead to your videos today. I respect how careful and lead by prayer in your decision making you are. I suppose what I feel I need to say is that marriage is a beautiful thing, especially when you find that one person who you can be completely yourself with and is your actual partner in life. This, like all others, is going to be a journey. It took me years to find my husband. Each person I dated along the way showed me different things. I one, learned a lesson; two, learned what I did and did not want in a partner; and/or three, learned something about myself. I guess what I'm saying is don't get discouraged if you meet a lot of toads, one WILL eventually be a prince. Keep the faith, and I'm sure Jesus will continue to lead your way. Best to you!

    Dear sister in Christ,
    yes, God speaks to us through the beauty of His creation, absolutely! I too am deeply connected to God and am in awe of Him when admiring/contemplating His creativity in nature. However, Jesus Is uniquely, truly Present in the Eucharist...body, blood, soul and divinity! There is indeed a difference of His True Presence in the Eucharist over God communicating His beauty through a tree.... praying for you in your journey of discernment. May God bless you and keep you close to His Sacred Heart always.

    I’ve just come across this video, so this is the first time I’ve seen anything on your channel, which I will definitely be checking out. I just had to respond to this lovely, heartfelt video. I was raised Catholic, but at this point I am not really religious. I’m spiritual. I believe in God and always have. However, religions created by humans have some flaws in my view. I greatly respect the faith of others, but I am a more “all paths to God,” type person, which for me means loving God, being a good person, helping those that need it or maybe don’t know they need it yet, and, generally, living a life caring deeply for people and doing anything I can to see them and really be there for them whether it’s for a few minutes with a stranger or the life of a friend. I realize I probably don’t fit in here, but I like to hear others’ stories of life and learn. I think you are a beautiful soul and that whatever way you go will be the right one. I believe you are already using yourself to help many others. I can’t imagine how difficult sorting through all these choices and callings and your mind running through everything, but I know you will find the way for you. Greatest love to you and God bless.

      Hi Jenn, thank you for the kind note! I think God is so much bigger than any of us can imagine and that He finds us wherever we are and leads us on the most perfect path to Himself. If each of us is open to the Spirit and do our best to follow where it leads...I think God smiles on that. I'm the same too; I think it is so interesting to hear other people's journeys and see where they have come from and how they navigate their world. Thanks again for sharing!

We had 40 years of Atheist communism and we are called the most atheist nation in europe, but i see worker and business people at noontime mass everyday, in winter people lining the walls at mass when the holy water is frozen and people gathered around a hundred year old iron crucifix in the field for a blessing of the farmers.

Wouldn't it be more helpful to the world to be part of it and be examples for other humans and literally change other peoples lives? I see some nuns pray 6 hours a day I don't really understand the reason or why this way of living is so helpful for God and everyone around you. Thanks!

    Im glad you found your way. I dont mean to be mean with this question, but I just want to make sure you understand the Eucharist. You do know that Christ's body, blood, soul and divinity is present in the Eucharist alone and not in trees. Right? I get that you experience God's presence in nature, as we should. But nature does not contain him, nor does he contain his true self in it. It is a work of his hands, yes. But it is not him. If I'm a potter and were to make a bowl, am I now actually a bowl? Of course not. The Eucharist is the actual partaking of the living Christ's flesh, true presence. It is only through the Pascal mystery and that last and eternal supper that we can truly receive him on earth. Until he comes again. God bless.

    • @ChristieYoung07
      @ChristieYoung07  6 лет назад +2

      Gizzo, thank you for your reply :) Yes, I do understand the Eucharist and Amen to your explanation - you're a good apologist! I have a mystical spirituality and when not fully explained it can come out wrong theologically. Saying God is no less present in the tree than in the Eucharist is not, on face value, accurate. At the time for me it was meant to signify that I am no less close to God by leaving the convent. That if I want to adore Him I can find Him outside those walls and I can praise Him through His handiwork which points to Him, which He uses to bless me and be present to me. I do believe in the true presence in the Eucharist, but I also believe in the true presence of the spirit wherever it elects to be truly present.

    • @TheGreatGizzo
      @TheGreatGizzo 6 лет назад

      Christie Young thank you for explaining what you meant. That's really cool you have mystical spirituality. When someone looks at it from the outside it can be misunderstood sometimes!

    • @TheGreatGizzo
      @TheGreatGizzo 6 лет назад

      Ann Merrick according to who? Christ himself declares it. To teach the contrary is to feebly attempt to explain His Word away. The view that Christ is not truly present in the Eucharist is a modern new age teaching. Name me one Apostle, one church Father who taught what you have made up. You cannot do it. But we of the Apostolic church can name you those who were ordained by the Apostles, and can show what was handed down to them. Which is already reflected by the Apostles in the scriptures. How about Ignatius of Antioch? He was ordained a Bishop by St. Peter himself, and was a pupil of St. John for 40 years. This is what he wrote of the Eucharist shortly before being devoured by lions in the collosium in 107 AD.
      "They (heretics) abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they confess not the Eucharist to be the flesh of our Saviour Jesus Christ, which suffered for our sins, and which the Father, of His goodness, raised up again."
      "See that you all follow the bishop, even as Jesus Christ does the Father, and the presbytery as you would the apostles; and reverence the deacons, as being the institution of God. Let no man do anything connected with the Church without the bishop. Let that be deemed a proper Eucharist, which is [administered] either by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church."
      "My love of this life has been crucified, and there is no yearning in me for any earthly thing.
      Rather within me is the living water which says deep inside me: "Come to the Father." I no longer take pleasure in perishable food or in the delights of this world I want only God's bread, which is the flesh of Jesus Christ, formed from the seed of David, and for drink I crave his blood, which is love that cannot perish."
      "No earthly pleasures, no kingdoms of this world can benefit me in any way. I prefer death in Christ Jesus to power over the farthest limits of the earth. He who died in place of us is the one object of my quest. He who rose for our sakes is my one desire.”
      Or how about Justin Martyr? You really need to open your eyes and harden not your heart. This is the faith of the Apostles, not some made up theology in someone's basement in the early 1900s.

      By our Baptism we share in Jesus’ Prophetic, Kingship, and Priestly role. Marriage can be a big distraction, we are very optimistic on saying we can be as holy in marriage, yes, but it is filled with distractions. Commit to your parish and be involved in the community with your spouse, then you will see your marriage grow in virtue. Both marriage and Religious Order are oriented to the edification of the Church. Have the habit of the Divine Office, Rosary, Sacraments, and Community service. Retreats are also a boost in Christian life. Also, God’s presence in the Eucharist is unmatched in the natural surroundings, so continue dialogue with out Lord before the Eucharist above all; the trees can take care of themselves.. lol. Great sharing of your discernment.

    Dear brothers and sisters.....we do not need to enter monastic orders and cloisters etc. We are free in Christ with full access to our heavenly Father. I have two male friends who are naturally celibate...they have that gift. Read the epistle to the Galatians. To "step down" into an order is contrary to the biblical truth that when we come to Christ, we become "royal priests/priestesses." This is the highest and only order. (Read the Epistle to the Hebrews also St. Peter's 1st. epistle) I was admitted into the highest order by simple conversion. God recognizes two priesthoods- 1. the Levtical which was a type (this He did away with when Jesus came and died) and 2. the "priesthood of all believers" into which we are admitted by faith and faith alone. Any other order is but a tradition of men and contrary to the "priesthood of all believers." He may gift you with celibacy as St. Paul or He may gift you with a husband/wife and a very high calling to raise godly children. Jesus said, "In vain do you worship me teaching for doctrines "the traditions of men." Matt. 15:9 With love from the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

      Hi Al,
      Thank you for your passionate response! I say Amen that we are all children of God and call to respond to Him in love and be His light in the world. Amen that we can go to the Father with whatever is on our hearts and have a deep personal relationship with Him. I did some research on this (I didn't know this was a matter of contention with different denominations till now) and I would like to offer a few points of clarification to what you said, quoting from the ever reliable Wikipedia (because it's put rather succinctly) and accurate to my knowledge. It's always a good idea to try to go back to the original text. Sometimes reading different translations of the bible is like playing telephone...something is bound to get lost along the way!
      This is in reference to 1 Peter 2 and the royal priesthood.
      Much of the doctrinal dispute on this matter is caused by the difference between the Greek words ἱερεύς (hiereus meaning "sacred one"; represented in Latin by the word sacerdos) and πρεσβύτερος (presbyteros meaning "one with elderhood"), which are usually both translated in English with the word "priest". The former term refers to the sacrificial ritual leaders of Judaism, the kohanim (כֹּהֲנִים‬), and to those holding the office of conducting sacrifices in ancient pagan temples, whereas the latter term refers to an acknowledged elder of a community.The earliest Christianity is not recorded as ever having created an office of hiereus, except to acknowledge Jesus in that role, and as in the Greek of 1 Peter 2:9, to recognize the Church as having it in a collective sense. The New Testament records the role of presbyterand/or bishop (or episkopos which literally means "overseer") in the earliest Christian churches as the role ordained by the Apostles to the earliest acknowledged leaders of the Church. Saying that all Christians are a "sacred one" (i.e. hiereus) is not to say that each Christian is "one with elderhood" (i.e. presbyteros).Catholicism often expresses the idea of the priesthood of all baptized Christians in English as the "common" or "universal" priesthood;[35]in parallel, it refers to Catholic clergy as the "ministerial" priesthood. It defends this distinction with the original language of scripture[36][37]. The Catholic Church holds that the consecration of the eucharist and absolution from sin may only be validly performed by ministerial priests with true apostolic succession[38]. The Orthodox hold a very similar view.
      To continue on with your point about religious communities or orders, in Heb 10:22-25 and particularly in verse 24 we are called to "spur one another on to love and good deeds." I believe that religious orders answer this call as well as many other calls to service throughout the bible. Without getting into the history of religious orders, suffice to say, religious orders provide a clear, structured way for people to fully commit themselves to doing the will of God through prayer and service not hindered so much by the concerns and commitment of having a spouse and children and other trappings of our world. Moreover, we each have a calling from God and we are called to different things as members of the body of Christ - each with it's own function. Ultimately, I was called to marriage. Some are called to a single life and others are called to religious life - to join a religious community. Each of these are good and holy and ordained by God. And...within each of these calls there are still more "nudgings of the Spirit" into specific daily tasks and "adventures" God wishes for our Sanctification and that of His children.
      All that to say, if anyone feels God is calling them to service in a radical way, including joining a religious order or becoming a missionary, pray about it, talk to your pastor or priest and see what the spirit says. Take some steps in that direction and see how the spirit moves in you. Do you feel at peace or anxious. Pray, listen...God will show you the way.
      Thank you again for your voice Al!!

      Dear sister, I am honored, and humbled that you would reply so quickly and also, that you would take the time to give me such a reply. I am blessed. You know, of all the subjects that we could discuss in all creation, the subject of our Father and His relationship to us is the most important.
      I sent out a desire to the Holy Spirit as to how I might reply and He was so quick to respond, bubbling up inside with thoughts and verses. He has always been so faithful in this way. So with His help I have replied. Please prayerfully bear with me.
      The offices of overseer (πρεσβύτερος) and servant (διάκονος) were/are simply positions from among those in the church (ἐκκλησία) who were to assist in the maturing of the sons and daughters of God. The scripture is clear that we “ALL are children (lit. υἱοὶ-sons) of God by faith, in Christ Jesus.” Gal. 3:26 But as St. Paul also says “the HEIR as long as he/she is a CHILD differs nothing from a servant THOUGH HE/SHE IS LORD OF ALL.” Gal. 4:1 They are placed “under guardians and trustees until the time appointed by his father.” Gal. 4:2 The offices of overseer and deacon/deconess were meant only to assist “until we ALL attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, TO A FULL-GROWN MAN/WOMAN, unto the measure of the STATURE OF THE FULLNESS OF CHRIST.” Ephesians 4:13 There was never to be a distinct division between those who were more mature and those who were less mature in the church (i.e. priesthood and laity including outward evidences such as vestments etc) Christi, if you ever were to have a child, you would desire that he/she would grow up into full adulthood. This scripture reflects God’s desire as our Father in like manner, “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may GROW UP IN YOUR SALVATION.” 1 Peter 2:2 Those to whom the writer of Hebrews wrote said this, “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again, the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food.” Hebrews 5:12 This is the great problem of the church today. We have been divided into teachers and babes. (Priesthood and laity)
      Jesus called God His Father, and the Jews equated this to His being “EQUAL WITH GOD” and so they sought to stone Him. He said, “I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?” The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, BEING A MAN, MAKE YOURSELF GOD.” Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I SAID YOU ARE GODS’? (Ps. 82:6) IF HE CALLED THEM GODS TO WHOM THE WORD OF GOD CAME (AND THE SCRIPTURE CANNOT BE BROKEN) do you say of Him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I AM THE SON OF GOD’? An amazing statement! St. Paul understood this fact and so I repeat the above verse penned by him: we “ALL are SONS (DAUGHTERS) of God by faith, in Christ Jesus.” Gal. 3:26 Quoting the Catholic Good News Translation “Since the children, as he calls them, are people of flesh and blood, JESUS HIMSELF BECAME LIKE THEM AND SHARED THEIR HUMAN NATURE” (Heb.2:17 ) and through faith at conversion, we become like our elder brother. Our brother Jesus, became our “great high priest.” (Heb. 4:15) and because he is our brother we, like him, become priests. Father God is King of kings and is the highest royal and God the Son bears the same royal status. That is why we become “THE CHOSEN RACE, THE KING’S PRIESTS, THE HOLY NATION, GOD’S OWN PEOPLE.” 1 Peter 2:9 Quoted from the Catholic Good News Translation. We do not earn this. We inherit it (WE ARE HEIRS) and there is no hierarchical system here. We call this “conversion” today. The early church called it “deification.” This, my sister, is the wonderful doctrine of “The priesthood of all believers.”
      Many blessings

    Women is the Lord’s gift to men as men is a gift to women.
    The Lord NEVER asked women to be their “wife” as well He NEVER asked men to be celibate.
    Every man that goes into priesthood, is denying a woman a man.
    Every woman that “marries” God is denying a man a woman.
    Therefore both priest and nun are in a “state” of sin.
