If you watch other stand up late night sets, you’ll see they do this to a lot of people. And the reason why is because some comics use a lot of gestures or are more physical with their jokes. When they’re doing their act outs, the audio would be lost in their movement which is why they also have lapel mics. It’s a back up to keep the audio consistent and leveled. Hope this helps!

This is the very first performance, in his entire career, that I've ever just nodded in agreement with Clay the whole time. Once I realized he was talking about BATMAN V SUPERMAN, I thought for sure he would be a Batman guy...and instead he was FUNNY AND CORRECT. Even his jokes about getting older were insightful (in a "Dice"-y way).
    A. "D." C. is on Team Superman. Wow. Great Krypton!

My Dad was amazingly like Andrew Dice Clay, including that he smoked like a chimney for most of his life. A New York Jew, if ever there was one. He was a huge fan of Lenny Bruce, wore a leather motorcycle in his off-time, and he was unrelentingly loud and obscene; AND-he once spent an evening drinking martinis and telling jokes with Adam West, who played 'Batman' in the TV show version of it. Oy vay.
