Really we don't need to talk about the interior, but exterior wise I prefer the old one. The old front looked beefier and in general the old one looks sharper. This one, especially the front, looks like "yet another modern ford".
Well, I like the design a lot. It looks really good. I never thought I would buy a Ford, but their Ford Kuga PHEV Vignale convinced us at once. Well done. It is ordered as our second car.
Ford should fire the guy who designed that front. It is an SUV for god's sake. Interior and back design is average. Tiguan looks classy, means business and will age well. Peageot is electrifying.

Just because it is not out yet does not mean it cannot be current compared to other modern vehicles. This does not feel fresh. To me the styling of the exterior does not suit the larger scale, I really like the current MK8 Fiesta ST (chiseled looks) which shares similar details to this but works better with a compact small hatch. :)
Although it's not the best looking car ever released, I do like the soft design. It's a welcome change from the typical new car design that always overdo it with big grille, small headlight, hard body line, creases, fake vents, sloping roof, angles, etc.

The Tiguan is crap. The 2.0 diesel is a ticking time bomb, they eat wheel bearings and front end bushings like there is no tomorrow, the Haldex system is notorious for breaking on all VAG-products and the rear LED clusters are terrible, they don't usually even last until the end of the warranty and cost an arm and a leg to replace.
I just gotten a 2020 Ford Escape SE. My old 2015 Ford Escape broke down 3 days ago in the late morning. My sister did helped me in getting the newer Ford Escape. There was a 2019 White One with less miles on it. That one I will compare it towards the 2015 one. I loved the body style on the Newer one a lot better. It is the same age when I got the 2015 one almost 5 years ago. The 2015 Ford Escape has been good with me for those years of driving it.
I have the 2016 Kuga TiT X and its a superb car. Great handling, great suspension, good use of space, great comfort, great to drive, tons of torque. Got a spacesaver spare, 4WD, sunroof, 370NM at approx 1700rpm. IF I wanted sportier I would buy a BMW. IF I wanted more space I would probably buy a Skoda Kodiaq or similar size car.. at a push maybe a Ford Escape. The Mk2 has best pretty much best rear seat/ boot space in its class and best headroom. I would be VERY surprised if the MK3 or any rival to MK2 has better suspension or comfort! Good advice to mid SUV buyers though. AVOID QASHQAIS for VERY POOR rear seat legroom and POOR boot space.. go for at least an XTRAIL or a Kuga sized car.. you wont regret it!

My first thoughts: big improvement over the old models - I really don't mind that some say it looks like a Cayenne because it actually is a Focus design that finally works in SUV proportions, opposed to the hatchback which looks a bit odd, mainly because of the long wheelbase and endless nose...
One important advantage over forthcoming X1 and Volvo XC40 PHEV's. This has an over 2.0L (2.5L) engine, those other don't. Why does that matter? If its a company car and your getting approved fuel rates (AFR) paid for your business mileage, the X1 and XC40 you will only get 14p per mile. The Kuga (like the Outlander) you get 21p per mile. Enough to run it on petrol even on long trips and still make a small profit!
I hope we get a version with the lower body trim painted to the cars color here in North America instead of black plastic around the wheel wells, rear bumper, lower part of doors. It’s one of the reasons I bought my escape in black...to try and hide it...
How does the boot space compare to the Outlander PHEV? On paper the Kuga is supposed to be bigger which I find hard to believe since the Outlander essentially is a 7 seater. Judging from my field research the Outlander appears to be a much bigger car with much bigger boot space than the (old) Kuga? I highly doubt the new Kuga has grown that much?!

I have a '68 plate Kuga Vignale and I think it looks a lot better than the new 2020 version The new version with the standard Ford 'look', same as Fiesta, Focus, Mondeo, C Max does away with 'individuality'. Who wants a car, that from the front, looks like all Ford's. The '68 model has a new moulded plastic grill, the rear looks large and powerful and with a 180 BHP diesel engine who need anything more.

I've got a 2006 Accord Tourer and, I find that it's a very much attractive interior that's quite timeless and even today, modern. Besides the dated infotainment which still works wonders, minus the touchscreen controlled climate control.

I don't get why the top of the range models on all these cars have bigger alloys. Like bigger means better? I doesn't. They are more expensive to run, the tyres are dearer, the ride is often harsher. I don't get it.... :(
That front end is still a little off, but looks better than the ones shown on the Escapes for America so far. Hopefully we get an ST version with that front end.
Noise cancelling systems can be bad for your hearing. Current Kuga looks better imho and why lower this car vs old Kuga when existing ST Line drivers complain about harsh ride.

I have a Kuga PHEV ( Vignale with full options) which I received late June. I was very satisfied until a call back action (20s44) which was released early August by Ford, telling me there’s a problem for all these PHEV with the battery, which causes this car can take fire. This apparently van even happen when simply parked. The modification could only be implemented after August 24 in the garage. Meaning for most of July and August, I had to drive on Fuel only, as it got forbidden by Ford to charge the battery. On August 25, the Ford dealer mode some kind of modification and told menI could drive again on electricity. However, soon after, I learned from Ford that there’s going to be a second recall since the car can still take fire. Very worrysome. They told me I should stop charging electricity. Apparently, every Ford Kuga PHEV received this message. It was followed by a letter of Ford to the Kuga PHEV owners on Sep 15th , confirming this second recall with the same number : 20s44. The customer servixe has been non responsive on my demands when the problem is now going to be fixed. The Ford dealer 5ells le the sales and delivery of this PHEV modell is even halted now, because the problem is quite important. Ford has no date announced yet on when the cars will be adjusted so we can use it again what we bought it for : driving on electricity. Once the fix is available ( date unknown so far ) There is a delay of 6 weeks at the Ford dealer to get an appointment they told me. This means , I will at earliest be able to use the electricity again in late November. A horror story. We feel very screwed by the imcompetence of Ford, who brought a car on the market without being ready to be released. And they don’t offer any compensation. Shame on you, FORD
A bit strange that the Ateca didn't feature in this, but either way, Ford haven't really shown us they can make a class-leading crossover, and this isn't changing much. Also, is there a point selling this with the Focus Active alongside it? Ignoring trucks, Ford are only selling the Focus Active and the Mustang in the States, so why sell lots of extra and potentially very similar models in Europe?

I’m pretty sure some of the older models were called Escape over in Europe as well, and I don’t know why Ford decided to rename it the Kuga over there. 😅 I drive a 2016 Ford Escape and it’s a great car. 👍

Looks much better then old one. But the Kia style multimedia screen is awful. Why just not to integrate it in torpedo, like premium brands?
The new Kuga looks like 2016 Hyundai Tucson from the front profile and also dashboard, and Toyota RAW from the back profile, ..

Kuga and Edge are the same car. The Edge name is used in North America, Kuga in Europe and I think the rest of the world.

If it's anything like the new Focus it will be a joy to drive. Ford has done some successful hybrids in the past and it has Apple Carplay. Could be a winner.
