    You are a life saver, I'm an android guy but hate the fact that there is hardly any glass screen protector out there because of the curve screen. I have been searching for a screen protector like the factory one that came with my note 10 plus but was unsuccessful. BxChicc77 I’ve heard some were having trouble with edges peeling up. What’s awesome is you took advantage of the return policy, and kept trying. I think most would prefer to not have to do that. If you get a chance. Please let me know what kept you trying to make it work, and how do you like the screen protector now that it is working as it should? Good job getting the install done, and thank you for the comment.

      @@SomethingMobile I peeled off the screen protector that came on the N10 plus the day i recieved it. I always put some type of case and screen protection on all of my devices. I was determined to keep trying until i got it right. I'm used to the zagg glass screen protector and that's super easy to install. I had to protect my screen and especially because this phone is over 1,000 🤦🏽‍♀️ I love the screen protector although i wish that Zagg made a glass version for the n10 plus. It does get smudgy, but i just take a eyeglass cloth to remove them. The spen glides very smooth over it as well.

      Hey BxChicc77, thank you for the follow up! I mirror your reasoning for protecting your phone. Would be real nice if Zagg could give us a full adhesive dry glass screen protector for the curved Samsung screens. The Vision guard, and ultra clear seem to be passable. In other words. They do the job. Again thank you so much for the follow up, and leaving another comment. Please let me know if anything changes with your screen protector. I chose the Whitestone Dome.. Initially. However after cracking my second one through normal use, not having dropped the phone or anyting I decided to pick up the Zagg. Watching this video to make sure the install goes smoothly. I just hope that the OtterBox I have for my phone doesn't peel up the edges.

    • @SomethingMobile
      @SomethingMobile  5 лет назад +2

      Hello WhiteDwarfVR4! Thank you for sharing your experience. I've read a few reviews that have shared your same misfortune. It's too bad because I really like Whitestone dome as a company. They seem to really care about making a good product that works. I think that they had to make the glass super thin for the Note 10 and Note 10 plus screen protector. They had to try to make it possible for the sonic fingerprint sensor to work with glass. To make that happen. I think they had to make the glass a bit too thin. This is all speculation of course. I may be wrong. It would be awesome if Whitestone would say that is the issue at hand. If it is the truth. It's hard to say for sure what is truly causing the screen protectors to break so easily. The Whitestone Dome on my OnePlus 7 pro is still all in one piece. It's perfect. So I have to think the main issue most likely comes down to the sonic fingerprint sensor Samsung is using in their recent phones. All this to say. Please let me know what you think of the Zagg you picked-up in comparison to Whitestone Dome. I have a uv glass like Whitestone on my Note 10 plus right now. The company is AmFilm. It's a sub company owned by a brand "techmatte." Its seems to be promising. I can post you some pics on Facebook for you if you would like to see the box and brand AmFilm. Let me know, and I'll do that if you are interested. Sorry about the long message, but this is a crazy important topic right now for anyone looking for a a good screen protector for the recent Samsung line of phones. Please let me know how the Zagg fits with your otterbox. Thank you again for sharing. Live blessed and take care my friend.

    Quite a decent review. I've just gone from the note 20 ultra with an otterbox defender case backwards to the note 10 plus. Unfortunately otterbox defender cases don't defend themselves from thieves.... zzz. You seem to have done a decent job. It would be interesting to see what level of impact these screen protectors provide with dropping or some force of sorts on a phone. Although I can see why you wouldn't want to hit a plastic screen protector with a hammer on a 800 dollar phone... otherwise good Job. I will say, I bought a $10 pair of glass screen protectors off Amazon & I'm sending that crap back. It wouldn't stick to the sides, the finger print sensor wouldn't work at all (it had the cut out but a slim film covered the sensor. I'm not using glue for mine. So I'm going naked. This beautiful screen does a great job of not smudging. Don't waste your money. It should take a lot to scratch your screen.

    • @SomethingMobile
      @SomethingMobile  5 лет назад +2

      Hey Mike A Nator, haha cool name by the way. I totally understand not wanting to use anything. It's tough because Samsung has put us in a rough spot with the sonic fingerprint sensor. It doesn't like to work through glass. I found a glass the does seem to work most the time. It's not perfect, but it's the best I have used. You don't want to use glue or any liquid adhesive right? So I won't say anything else about the AmFilm screen protector, but it's good. I just wanted to let you know. Since you are going without a screen protector. I wanted to give you a heads up. There is a liquid screen protector you can get on Amazon. It's fairly priced, and will help you in the case that your phone falls. The liquid screen protector protects from impact, but doesn't do too well against scratches. Just wanted to pass on some information to you. I hope this helps. That's it for now. Thank you for the comment. Take care and live blessed.

      Which brand are you thinking about using for the privacy screen? Are you thinking about using invisible shield? The invisible shield is case-friendly. So you can pretty much get whatever case you would like. Although, not every case that is available is guaranteed to fit, but is likely it will. Are you looking for a TPU screen protector? Or are you looking for a glass of screen protector? If you want privacy screen protector you will have to go with TPU. The only one I know of is made by invisible shield. The only thing about invisible shield is the screen protector will peel along the edges fairly soon, but you can get a replacement from invisible shield. I believe the replacements are about $5.

The edges stayed down really well while I had it on my Note 10 plus. I have to tell you though... I don't have it on my phone at this time. I am trying to find more screen protectors to find. So I can report back to RUclips on other good choices. At this time I'm trying to find a glass screen protector that works well with the sonic fingerprint sensor on the Note 10 plus. I have a video in the works right now of the AmFilm glass screen protector. It seems promising. Keep an eye out for that. All this to say. Try lifting the edge a little to clean the area where it keeps lifting. You may leave a fingerprint on the screen protector though. It's a tough fix. You may have to get a replacement. What's nice is you can go into your nearest best buy to get one. Do you have any alcohol cleaning wipes? That would work best. Clean that spot where it won't stick. Hello Beverley Roberts, yes you can call it plastic, but only to be super clear with you. No pun intended lol. To be super clear with you... It’s more of a rubberized plastic. Also known as TPU. All that aside. There isn’t a mark left behind when writing on it. It’s actually quite nice to write on as well. Glass is stronger than this screen protector. I recently purchased, and installed the Whitestone Dome Glass screen protector I mentioned in this video. I really like it, and the fingerprint sensor works with the glass on. I bought the Whitestone dome glass screen protector for my note 10+. The fingerprint sensor did not work 40 to 60% of the time. I did notice that if I lick my finger with my tongue I can put my fingerprint in to the glass into the phone and it will register my fingerprint. It will also allow me to unlock the phone if I lick my finger as well. I really don’t think that’s the best way to look dashing and debonair.But ok..

    • @SomethingMobile
      @SomethingMobile  5 лет назад

      Shiloh Warren, I’ve noticed all those same things, but I have dry fingers most the time lol. I think the Whitestone dome glass is so smooth that it is unnoticed that your finger slips around on the screen while trying to hold it still to get that good reading. A wet finger tip not only shows the detail of fingerprint better, but it also lets your fingerprint stay in place better. Please let me know if you notice this as well. What’s nice about a TPU screen protector is it is thinner, and slightly tacky. This gives a better read. I am using the Whitestone Dome right now, and it works about 80 percent of the time. No licking. Lol. Thank you for you comment, and sharing your experience. Live blessed and take care my friend.

      Hey Seeker J. Okay, so the preinstalled screen protector feels smooth as glass. The invidisible shield has a little bit more of a tacky kind of feel. You didn't ask about this, but I did try the s-pen with the invisible shield. It worked really well. No feeling of drag one might expect. All this to say. Keep the preinstalled screen protector as long as possible. The preinstalled one scratches easily though. So when the need for change comes. I do feel the invisible shield is a good option. So $450 later here we are.. anyway will this case protect from falls like this? Or flat on its face. I keep it in a case (typically a high bred style). When people say warranty on the film cases how do they break? Does it look like the tempered glass? And whats the warentee? Do they pay for a new screen if it does break the screen or only if the zag peels of? Has anyone done drop tests with these ? Sorry just do many questions on how to protect my phone now.. thank you

Unless they specify that in the warranty. I have yet to see that kind of warranty. I highly recommend you get a WhiteStone Dome Glass screen protector. They are the strongest, and will provide the best protection. For your particular situation. Having spent so much money already. I wouldn't take a chance. Ok...the Whitestone Dome is 100% compatible with the fingerprint scanner, so there's that. And, if anyone, ANYONE, thinks $50 is expensive to protect a $1,300 device, perhaps they shouldn't be buying a $1,300 device. It always amazes me that people will pay more for a cell phone than they will for a TV or computer, yet complain about the 'high price' of a screen protector. Just my observation...

      @SomethingMobile  5 лет назад +1

      Hey NYVET, you make some really good points. It is so important to protect a device. No matter the price. It's great that you shared your experience. So now we know the Whitestone Dome glass screen protector works with the Sonic Fingerprint sensor. After spending so much money on the Note 10+ there is hardly anything left in the bank to spend. Haha. I'm totally playing devil's advocate. I know where you are coming from my man. It's always good to know we have options. I will do all I can to find good options for anyone that visits my channel. After some research. I noticed that Whitestone Dome glass has been breaking. Broken out of the box or shortly after installing. I think this might be due to faulty delivery and shipping or faulty installation. Either way, this amazing product from an amazing company is not reaching it's full potential. My theory is Whitestone Dome had to make the screen protector a little thinner to allow the Sonic Fingerprint sensor to function. This is only speculation of course. By no means can I scientifically prove this. I just wish it was doing better for people. I realize Whitestone Dome has an amazing return policy, but most people may not be willing to dabble with that. I'll get to my point now. Lol. Sorry this so drawn on. I've just been thinking about this a lot. As you have. I can feel the passion you have on this. It's inspiring in a way no doubt. My point is there are different factors that people may be considering. The price of the screen protector might just be the the reason someone isn't willing to take the chance. Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts and passion. You are welcome here. I see you my man. Please share any other thoughts you have. Live blessed and take care.

      @@SomethingMobile oh don't get me wrong, I in no way meant any criticism toward your content, I just wanted to clarify about the Dome. Part of the reason why it works so well with the fingerprint is the adhesive is so clear it does not block the ultrasonic waves from reaching the finger, and Zagg makes one like the Dome with the adhesive, a much easier installation, and the process has you blocking the fingerprint sensor with a piece of paper (the example video used one of the alcohol pads in the packet) during the ultraviolet curing process, and after it's cured, they have you press down on the sensor and hold pressure while curing that final section. Now the Whitestone didn't do that but still works as it should, but the Zagg install was definitely unique and interesting, and no trays or bullshit to deal with.
      I hadn't heard about the Whitestone's are breaking, but we all know how some of these packages are treated, some not very well.

I think glass is all around better for safety, but not for the finger print sensor. I just got tired of my fingerprint sensor not working, and wanted to find a glass alternative for everyone. I think it is way too hard for me to say that plastic is better. But I do think it’s a good alternative to glass if you go with invisible shield. It’s a decent screen protector. It’s the one I choose, but that is just my preference for now. If the fingerprint sensor worked better for me I would go with glass. If you are going ceaseless. Go with glass for sure. Although, if you happen to drop your phone I would think the pre installed screen protector will be less likely to protect your screen. Due to lack of a strong adhesive. The preinstalled screen protectors are super thin as well. I have not tested this theory, but I feel as though a thinker screen protector will offer the shock waves of an impact more to travel through. Helping the destructive vibrations not travel through the screen of the phone.
      I love and prefer the feel, and strength glass offers. Glass is superior to plastic in feel and protection as well. This is true, Samsung has designed, and given us an ultra sonic fingerprint sensor. The vibrations it sends out to the finger do not travel very well through glass. Thus casing an error, and won’t allow the phone to unlock. Plastic seems to allow more vibrations, and information to get back from your finger. Thus allowing access to the phone. In this way plastic is the better choice. Now it’s just up to the user to decide. Feel and protection or function?
      I hope this helps, and thank you again for your questions, and sharing your thoughts.

      Hey Tuts Frits, thank you for the comment. Could you please tell me which screen protectors your have used so far? You can do it I truly believe you can, but Whitestone dome is a in depth install. Meaning there are quite a few steps to installing it. You can do it though. If you do accomplish the install. It will be one of the best screen protectors you have used. Please take the time to leave a comment here if you get a chance to try the install of Whitestone Dome Glass on your iPhone 11 Pro Max. Hey Tuts Fruts, I’m sorry about the name typo, and forgetting about which phone we were talking about in the previous reply I made. I’m doing a series right now for the iPhone. It’s a series on trying to find the perfect screen protector for that. I’ve been responding to comments on those videos, and mixed up what I was talking with you about. Lol. Sorry about that. I may do the same kind of series for Samsung phones as well. We will see what the future brings. All that aside. The only problem you might run into with the Whitestone dome for the Note 10 plus is periodic loss of the sonic fingerprint sensor sensitivity and function. For me I like to go with Function over Look and Feel. In other words. If a product reduces the function of a phone. I don’t want to use that product. Even if it does look, and feel super nice. What’s nice about the screen protector invisible shield in this video is it looks, and feels decent, but allows the fingerprint sensor to work. At this time that is the screen protector I recommend. A quick tip for you. Before installing any screen protector. Clean every part of the screen super well. The most important yet forgotten part of the screen is the edges. Clean those edges really well. When you think you have cleaned them enough. Clean the edges one more time. I hope this helps. Please let me know what you end up going with if you get a chance. Thank you again for taking the time to reply.

Your experience will differ I’m sure. Have you thought about going with Whitestone Dome glass? It is so good, but there are some negatives to that as well. Just depends on what you prefer, and what you are willing to deal with. I think both brands are worth some hassle, but for sure I can tell you there is “Not” any perfect screen protector. You can only really try to figure out what has less negatives for you. That is when you will realize what is the best for you. Please ask questions if needed. I’ll help all I can.

      @@SomethingMobile I guess first I'll say that it was a good thing that I bought a cheaper TPU film on Amazon in the event things didn't go well. That being said the Whitestone install holder never seemed to align properly and during the spreading of the gel it proved to be a problem. I immediately removed the glass before it hardened, cleaned my phone, and just aborted. I'm sure that this might sound like user error but a 50 dollar kit and the plastic components still had alignment issues...really doesn't make sense.

    • @SomethingMobile
      @SomethingMobile  5 лет назад

      Seeker J, Thank you so much for sharing! Don’t even fee bad if you do at all. It is quite a hard install. There are Amazon reviews talking about the difficult installation process. I’m sorry that you had to deal with that. This said I do believe you can do it. If you feel up to it later maybe you can try again. You have one more vile. In the case that you don’t want to try again. Which is totally fine as well. You can try to return the Whitestone Dome screen protector. If you happen to try to apply it again please come back here to relay the results. Practice before you try the install. You probably did this already, but maybe this will help. Lay everything out. Just the way the install will go, but with no adhesive. Practice the slow tilt, and slowly pulling the plastic tab as you lean the phone toward you. I hope this helps, and please let me know the TPU brand you purchased on Amazon, and how you like it. Thank you again for sharing. Hope all is well for you today, and take care.

      @seekerj1643 5 лет назад

      @@SomethingMobile I personally think that the kit they sent me had too much overflow of the plastic when it was manufactured causing misalignment. I wont be using it any further because it would have the same issues. About the ofbrand TPU that I have it's not terrible but I can already tell that it will be peeling off. Overall I think this is Samsung's fault for choosing this kind of in display sensor...leaving us with horrible protector choices.

    • @SomethingMobile
      @SomethingMobile  5 лет назад +1

      Oh I see. Okay, well I hope you return the Whitestone. I agree with you. The finger print sensor could have been designed much better. One other inhibiting factor to finding a good screen protector is the curved screen. That to say the curved screen is one of the positive features of the Note 10 Plus. All this to say. I have noticed a screen protector can make or break a good experience with a device. Maybe you can try having someone at your local phone retailer install one for you. Or at a Zagg kiosk in your nearest mall. Please let me know if you find a solution that works for you. I will keep looking as you know for the perfect screen protector. I’ll update the channel here if I happen to find something better than Zagg or Whitestone Dome. Take care Seeker J.
