It appears that ZAGG quality isn't what they used to be... it is sad that manufactures start out with a great product and they got greedy and rolled back on quality somehow. Great review!
Been using Zagg for years and never dropped a phone but it's still the only brand I trust. Recently Glass Elite saved my phone from a very hard fall when my roll cart tipped over and all the tools, and my iPhone 11 Pro, spilled all over the floor. Had to replace the screen protector, but not the expensive device.
One month and my wife cracked a Zagg Elite on her new iPhone 13 mini. She doesn't recall dropping it. I can't get their web page to complete the shipping portion of the warranty replacement at the moment. It is $8 for shipping so I may just apply that to another one and give up on Zagg. I bought three with our new phones. Thanks very much for all the great reviews.
Here’s a tip for getting a perfect dust-free application: Go into your washroom and run she shower (without the fan on) for a while, then install the screen protector in that washroom. The moisture makes most of the dust fall to the ground, so you shouldn’t get any dust on your screen during application. I’ve used the trick a few times and from my experience it makes a world of difference. Keep up the great content!
I’m using the Zagg Elite on my XS Max and I like it a lot. One thing that I’ve noticed from Zagg products (and Belkin too, the InvisiGlass) is that their screen protectors tend to have the best clarity. Everything looks razor sharp and the blacks of the OLED screen still look very very dark, nearly matching the black bezels of the phone. Also, the fingerprint smearing becomes less obtrusive vs cheaper brands. On most cheaper brands, the screen looks kind of “hazy”, washed out and the text, images, videos, etc don’t look as “sharp” or “vivid” as the bare screen. I’ve worn glasses all my life so I am very peculiar about clarity lol. I don’t know why that is or if it’s something to do with the quality of the adhesive but it’s very obvious to me. I’ve tried Spigen (their old non-EZ Tray were clearer), a plethora of eBay and Amazon protectors, case manufacture protectors, etc. Most of them are hazy and cheap looking/feeling. I wish there was a way to test clarity accurately other than by the naked eye.
@@MobileReviewsEh you should add a haze test. Use a small white dot with black background on max brightness and take a picture of the screen to measure the halo. Like the first dude said it’s noticeable on some screen protectors.
Got the elite for the iPhone 11. I've been using zagg invisible shield glass screen protectors for years for only one reason - to prevent scratches. Those scratches and micro scratches are really annoying on the iPhone's glass. The application process is super easy, almost foolproof, and they look good. I don't drop phones though.
I agree I’ve always used either Zagg or Spigen and they’ve lasted extremely long times. Granted I’ve had the same glass on my 6sPlus since the original release date and ya my daily driver but I pay notion to cases with raised front edges to give it that extra window of safety if/when falling face down.
MobileReviewsEh did you ever go through with the replacement glass? How was your process of so? I actually had mine replaced in a Zagg kiosk at a mall pretty much no questions asked. (I’m talking near end of life for my iPhone 5 & Preorder of 6sPlus days... I’m not sure those kiosks still exist now days)
I'm going with the "maybe." It's because of those inconsistencies I feel the product should be placed in the mid-tier. But that's just me. After you try the same tests again, if you do decide to do it, and if the inconsistencies persist, then the mid-tier is already there where it was placed. But if it does better, then bumping it up to top-tier could bring forth better review, coverage & press, and sales. P.S. I'm curious if you'll do a review of the glass camera protectors from Rhinoshield for iPhone 11/Pro/Max? Those Zagg one's you used don't look great. So far I'm pretty impressed with the purchase from Rhinoshield. They haven't fallen off yet and they compliment the look of the iPhone with the anodized aluminum trims, so that's a bonus!
A retest might be a good idea as it could be a faulty batch? If the inconsistency is the same with the second one then use the lowest score, like the saying your team is only as good as it’s weakest player.
Hey Aaron! Hope you’re doing well! It must be so hard to constantly keep making these videos it’s mind boggling. I just wanted to ask if you could put the Mous Hybrid screen protector through the ringer as you’re putting the others now. I’m not sure if you tested it the exact same way you’ve tested the current ones though; if you have, then don’t mind this comment and keep on keeping on! ❤️
The ONLY way to install screen protectors is in the bathroom. Turn on the hot water in shower, steam it up, keep door closed. All dust will stick to steam and fall to surfaces. Sneak into bathroom, Turn off water, wait a few minutes. Then take phone out of pocket and begin your install, wiping etc. NO DUST, its amazing. I've done this numerous times. It works!
*update* got it for $30 and I literally can’t tell the difference in reference to blue light filter. Night shift mode ftw. Always liked your videos. Very thorough. 👍🏿
If you want to do realistic testing. You can only do one drop on each screen protector. So to test the strength in 4 places. You’ll need 4 screen protectors. Otherwise your tests are flawed.
MobileReviewsEh you don't. But you’ll be testing as the best practice way. You also don’t use one crash car to test stability, you use a new car for each test.
What flavor of protein is that BTW? I like their chocolate. Great video BTW. I used Zagg in the past but I moved to the Spigen protectors that come with the applicators. Much better value IMO.
I think if the glass is inconsistent in its breaking point you would have to go with the weakest score (80ish?) which is the worst case scenario. If it was really quality you would anticipate it to be consistently in the 100’s. I don’t know just my take. 🤷🏻♂️ Interesting comment about the adhesive!
I think this product would be a “maybe”, pending a retest. Do you think the results would have been different if the Wilma test was run first, before the Bertha test? Monty always works hard 😊🐶
Yup! I think the structural rigidity of the screen protector was compromised from all those hits. You can’t beat physics. A better test would be to start each test with a new screen protector but that would add up to too much money!
You should be testing it while it’s on the phone. Not by itself. This doesn’t tell us anything. The point of a screen protector is to PROTECT THE SCREEN. I’ve had my screen protectors break but when I take it off, my screen is in perfect condition. I Shouldn’t even have to explain this smh.
That was painful. Too inconsistent. Keep trying. Screen protectors are kind of a scam. Protectors are soo hard to install. This one the adhesive didn't last through the testing. Not worth it.
Kind of happy that I gave up on traditional screen protectors and when with nano liquid glass. It's not the best, but i would go crazy with the screen protector falling off because my case didn't fit. Case friendly aren't friendly at all
I wished you would have started at say 20 with an actual phone so we could see how it protected the screen of the phone and the operation of the phone. I don't think your test really deserves a rating at all, sorry. I like your video, it just needs more thought and fine tuning.
I’ve been using Belkin invisiglass ultra recently on a few iPhones and they have lasted compared to the Zag which my 2 girls and wife cracked or broke on the sides. The Belkin invisiglass Ultra Curve looks interesting but the price is almost $80 in Australia, still I would buy it to protect my $2000 iPhone. In my opinion any cheap or expensive film is better than nothing. Man I miss the Bodyguardz fully wrap plastic rubbery film I had on the iPhone 3 .I used to throw that around like a frisbee
If you were into those full wraps maybe take a look into DBrand Skins they make them for almost any device even including Nintendo switches or console controllers etc
@@aldoramonz I was including whatever phone you had 2 years ago. Either way, I'd love to believe you and would hate to call you a liar.. but these ceramic shield screens are more resistant to breaks but more prone to scratches. I had my 13pro for 3 weeks without a protector, babied it like crazy, and still found a couple of tiny micro-scratches. You playin with fire.

Can you do a controlled temperature test of different screen protectors? Hot and cold drop tests perhaps?

That's how I do it. Perfect application every time.
I’m going to try this next time for sure!
/mindblown.
Or just use tape…way easier and less time consuming. I’m not trying to wait until I shower to put on a screen protector lmao.

Working on it!
You can only get an accurate test with 1 drop. As soon as it has a crack it’s not as structurally sound.
Why mine is not smooth?
The inconsistency in my opinion knocks it down a few. The Monty paw test is the best test! restart...restart... zag, zag, zag. Im dying over here lol.
:)
Why can’t you drop a iPhone with a screen protector on and see how durable it is
The results would be inconsistent.
I got Otterbox screen protector and literally dropped my iPhone from food tray few days ago. No crack, nothing broken 😎
Where did you get your Apple Watch from? What brand is it?
can u pls review the iphone se 2020 flolab nano armour screen protector
Sure.

True story
$49.99 felt like a lot for the glass elite visionguard+? Is $30 more reasonable? Already ordered and curious about your opinion
I'm not entirely convinced the blue light filtering does much.

Thats why the results are inconsistent

Welma Flinstone a Natural Redhead?!
Can you do a review on the glass fusion + D3O from zagg i'm trying to find something durable for my s21 ultra
Weird screen protector, too inconsistent in my eyes to be worth putting it up there with the good ones. A retest could be a good idea though
Agreed.
On amazon from UK this is £28 almost £10 more then a A-mind front panal replacement part...

I agree, it’s best to go with the lowest common denominator in these circumstances
Logical. I like it.
This is the one I’m using on my iPhone. What is the best one in your opinion?
Hey you should try a brand called “simply carbon fibre” They are claiming their screen protector is indestructible. Would love to see you test it out!
They say its shatterproof but that's because its a plastic screen protector not glass
Probably never reviewing anything from SCF ever again. ruclips.net/video/jBXYB-ZMPNg/видео.html
You need to see the Scf video. They are the worst kind of business people. Not worth anyone's time.
What about Shellrus sapphire lens protection ? Because iPhone lenses are definitely not sapphire !!
They're pretty close according to my Moh's testing kit.
Alright thanks for your work 😊
$50 for the glass protector? No thank you. Zegg, if they want to sell just glass for $50 need to have real bullet proof glass!
Hi, can you test out the ‘zeelot screen protector’ i would like to know the durability as well as if its worth it, thanks!
I think this product would be a “maybe”, pending a retest. Do you think the results would have been different if the Wilma test was run first, before the Bertha test? Monty always works hard 😊🐶

A better test would be to start each test with a new screen protector but that would add up to too much money!
The rigidity may be compromised but with enough tests, a trend would come out. Corners would start breaking at around the same point.
I’ve been using zag glass on my iPad and iPhones and glass elite
Sweet.
I’m hoping it’s not more stronger than flolab, cause I just bought a few product from them from your review.
You made the right choice.
If they are consistent, sure why not. But since they too inconsistent, no way. Nice review btw ;)
agreed.
Nah it should be lower because sometimes it only takes 1 drop to kill your actual phone's screen
Did you accidentally set the time to release at 11:30PM instead of 11:30AM? lol
No. I finished the video at 11:22 pm.
I noticed the WHITESTONE screen protector didn't make your list 🔎
I meant to say Apple Watch band?
