I saw a friend in the Air Force get destroyed by a false allegation of sexual assault. Only when she was finally caught in a lie did his accuser admit it was a complete fabrication. The whole time, she swore it happened and everyone supported her saying "why would she lie? Why would she put herself through this if it didn't happen?" Well... It didn't. Of course, by the time she admitted lying, his reputation had been destroyed. He was never the same. No, I'm not saying all men are innocent of sexual assault. I'm simply saying that we cannot, for the sake of advancing some personal or political agenda, conveniently and recklessly side step due process and the rule of law.
Right....so let the FBI investigate, if he's got nothing to hide.

Brett Kavanaugh is not guilty. The stress this ordeal must have brought him and his family must have been immense. Frightening to think that inconsistent, non-evidenced, and, seemingly, maliciously-timed allegations can have this level of impact and exposure.

Even if Dr. Ford does have a political motive, it doesn't mean it's not true. And even if it's not true, this trial has revealed many unpleasant qualities in Kavanaugh that are undesirable in a supreme court judge. He's shown himself temperamental, anything but impartial and apparently he doesn't understand the basics of answering a question when asked.
With all due respect, he's defending his character. In this country we have due process and can not convict someone of a crime without a trial is criminal. This entire process is disheartening.

Being an American citizen that supposedly is protected under the Constitution and our Bill of Rights just took a very scary turn today. The rights of Christine Ford and Judge Kavanaugh were both trampled on today by a disgusting display of nasty politics.
Two families are in turmoil tonight as politicians drug both these families through a shit show of humility, fear, sorrow, stress and agony.
Two well fortified professionals in their careers. Their children have been dragged into this circus with little to no regard of how traumatizing this whole event has been, or care of how it is impacting these children.
This display today was an embarrassment to this country as well as the American people.

I believe, ideally, that aside from having sufficient experience and credentials, a judicial appointee should be a person who is not part of any political party or movement, as such a person would be least likely to be influenced by political rhetoric, is not beholden to political parties and can make sound and fair judgements that will benefit the law-abiding citizens (because in truth there's no pleasing everyone, some will be angered that they cannot take their own liberties) instead of only protecting those in power. It would be very difficult to find such a person though, since they are overshadowed most of the time by those who are too eager to kiss the feet of politicians. And it also doesn't help that politicians from either side eagerly force through their own people regardless of whether they are good for the people or not. 2x5 = 5x2.
