The fact he acted with anger is actually a good thing. It shows that he is upset at these allegations in which he claims are false. Meanwhile, Dr. Ford tried to cry but couldn't squeeze out one tear and didn't wipe her eyes once.

A LIFELONG appointment.....no worries about income, health care, college funds, Paris vacations in the spring, upgrades for his family kitchen, trust funds, upcoming braces for kids, that huge diamond for his wife, no risk playing the Stock market, fat saving accounts, any red sports car or Harley his ego desires... etc.....Now that I think about it....no wonder he got so dramatic during his job interview...that's a lot to lose.

Even if Dr. Ford does have a political motive, it doesn't mean it's not true. And even if it's not true, this trial has revealed many unpleasant qualities in Kavanaugh that are undesirable in a supreme court judge. Ming Liang Yew, there have been all sorts of collegiate criminology and psychology studies as well FBI studies on this matter. They have concluded that most people that are sexually assaulted NEVER come forward, and that many who do, don't come forward immediately. There are a lot of reasons for it. Because of shame. Because they blame themselves. Because people will look at them differently and define them by that event. Because of fear of the exact scrutiny that she is currently under. You can read up on that. False accusations happen, but they are generally thought to be rare. People don't generally want fame for being victims of sexual assault.
Let me ask you this though ... do you believe Larry Nassar's "so-called victims," as you put it, are liars too. He had no celebrity. There was nothing to gain accusing him. Were these all Michigan football fans looking to smear the Michigan State athletics doctor? It was high school and college age women that he was victimizing. It went on for years and years. Over 100 women have come forward now. And he was convicted. What was gained? Why did they allow him to keep running free, as you asked? Why did the public accusation draw out the bravery of other victims? Could it be just that? That realizing you're not alone helps you to speak up? I mean, were Jerry Sanduski's victims all lying because they all came out at once? Were they all Pitt fans? How about the accusers of Catholic priests? These patterns you are rejecting are consistent with patterns in cases where it has nothing to do with celebrities or politicians.
Blasey-Ford did not want this spectacle. She tried to keep her identity secret. And if you want to say Feinstein mishandled it, or maybe even kept it in her back pocket as a political weapon, it's an argument that can be made. But when getting at the truth of what happened, it doesn't explain why Blasey-Ford sent her letter to Feinstein BEFORE Kavanaugh was the nominee or why she told her husband and therapist about it years ago. That's not the same as a corroborating witness, but it is very hard to reconcile that with the notion that she is just making this up. And if it was just a political hit job that Blasey-Ford was in on, why not make the story better? Why not say it was a rape, that no one else was present, and that's the full story. Why leave any gaps and unfriendly witnesses to pick away at the story? And how did she come up with specifics, like wearing a one-piece bathing suit under her clothes and how that helped protect her? Doesn't that specific sort of thing have a ring of truth to it? And, please watch Kavanaugh's Fox News interview and contrast it with this hearing. Where was his righteous indignation victimhood then? Why the change in tone? Why the turn from one person lying / being wrong to 'the Democrats are out to get me with a smear campaign, so Republicans should rally around me?' You don't see that as political theater?
Listen, with all that said, I DON'T KNOW WHO IS TELLING THE TRUTH!!! Short of one of them recanting, or Mark Judge recanting, I will never KNOW. You will never KNOW either. There are literally only three people in the world that know the truth. And yes, that does create a tough situation. If she's telling the truth, he has no business being on the Supreme Court. If he's telling the truth, then he's taken a terrible unfair hit to his reputation. But he hasn't been condemned to 20 years in prison. He might not get lifetime guaranteed elite job he wants. Given that that is the nature of the job, and we're all 50/50 in our ability to know the truth, should he get it? If you're interviewing someone for your rinky-dink business and a person comes forward with evidence free accusations against that person when there are lots of other qualified candidates, are you seriously saying that it shouldn't be considered?

As someone who was falsely accused, where my character was assassinated and my integrity and family denigrated, and where the DA was trying to put me in prison for 20 years for a crime I didn't commit, I have a unique perspective and know exactly what it's like. I wholeheartedly believe Judge Kavanaugh. This speech was particularly emotional for me, because though he wasn't looking at 20 years in prison, and wasn't forced into a plea agreement, I could tell with every fiber of my being, that he was being truthful, and is totally innocent of these false allegations and accusations. It brought me to tears, not simply feeling for him, but also realizing and remembering years later, that being put in jail or prison isn't half as bad as having your honor, integrity, morality, heart, and the way you were raised (family/ mother), being slain by people who represent a government (and nation) you once trusted. It changes and damages your life forever. It caused the worst and only depression I've ever had, and I almost didn't survive it. It's really easy to accuse someone else, if you yourself have never been falsely accused. Ms/Mrs. Ford's accusations, didn't to me, ring true. I really don't know for certain if they are, or not. But I know what I believe, based on how I was raised, my life experience, intuition, and ability to judge people's character and honesty. I believe that the Democratic Senators in that room, and everyone in that room, also believe he is telling the truth. What is most important to me, is that I know if he were the judge sitting on the bench in my criminal case, in a "Bench Trial/Court Trial", I know it would be a fair legal determination and ruling, of my guilt or innocence, based solely on the evidence before him and under the Constitutional protections of the United States of America, and the state of California.

To the 2 gentleman above. Please take no offense but you help to illustrate my point of choosing a side leading you to lose your sanity. Do you not see the words you use? The anger? The hatred? Those are not healthy things to drown yourself in. To not allow yourself to see and comprehend merits in both sides is not a sane disposition. To not allow yourself to see the dangers and destructive potentials in either side when 1 is not allowed to keep the other balanced is not a healthy or honest disposition. There have been many causes Democrats have fought and fight for that you are thankful for without knowing it. Workers rights and healthcare for our family when they become to old to work or disabled to be able to pay medical bills without having their homes and everything they worked for in life taken from them and their descendants to pay those bills are just a couple of important ones. Much of what you have spoken is propaganda. Regurgitating propaganda is certainly a symptom of being brainwashed. Some of what you have spoken does have a tremendous amount of merit. The far left is as dangerous as the far right. But you must see the fallacies of your far right viewpoints if you expect others to be able to see the truth of your far left viewpoints. Allow yourself to truly research political history and what each side has been able to accomplish for our country. Look into the corruption from both sides throughout history as well. If we continue to vote party lines instead of quality of character, of course it's always going to be more of the same with history repeating itself with the same wars, the same financial crisis, the same tyranny. I don't like to waste too much thought on RUclips debating(as it's a weird place where little kids, teens, and adults with varying IQs and mental states all meet up to convince each other of their own truth or just shoot the shit ) so pardon if I just thumbs up your responses, if any. It was 36 years ago people, let it go. As to this anger that this man has been accused of having, I don't see it. He seems like an honest calm man who fears god and has enough integrity to kill Thanos if he ever attacks earth again, unlike the Avengers who let Thanos escape. So it all comes down to one thing, who would the USA prefer to protect us, Brett Kavanaugh or The Avengers.

Let's skip the hyperbole, the MeToo rhetoric, the deserved sympathy for BOTH of the principals and focus on the facts, using our common sense:
    1. This is all about credibility. The credibility of Ms. Ford's allegation is suspect to begin with, since the alleged incident took place over 35 years ago. Moreover, there are numerous basic facts about the alleged incident that she is unable to supply: Exactly when it occurred (year, month, day of the week). What time of day it occurred (daytime or evening). Exactly where it occurred. Who was present (see below.) How she got to the party. How she got home from the party. Etc. While it is understandable that a sexual assault victim may not remember every detail, or even many details, about the incident, her inability even to remember the place and date are troubling and clearly bear on the credibility of her allegation.
    2. ALL of the other people allegedly present at the party deny that any such incident took place. One of them is another woman who was a good friend of Ms. Ford's at the time, with every reason to support her if the allegation were true.
    3. Ms. Ford has made numerous inconsistent statements about the incident. For example:
    (a) In her initial letter to Sen. Feinstein, she said the party "included" 4 people. Shortly thereafter, she told the Washington Post in her interview that there were 5 people present. Next, in her August 2018 handwritten statement to her polygraph examiner, she said that there were “4 boys and a couple of girls.” At the Judiciary Committee hearing, she admitted that she really doesn't remember how many people were at the party, and that there could have been more people present.
    (b) In her letter to Sen. Feinstein, she said that the party occurred "in the early 1980s," indicating that she could not recall the specific year. In her written statement to the polygraph examiner a couple of weeks later, she just said it was “in [the] 80’s,” crossing out the word “early.” In her WaPO interview less than a month later, she said it was 1982, when she was a sophomore in high school. Later on in 2012, at the time when she allegedly first mentioned Kavanaugh's name, she told her couples therapist that the incident occurred in her "late teens," which would mean sometime after 1982.
    (c) In her letter to Sen. Feinstein, she was unequivocal that there were 3 boys in the upstairs bedroom with her when the alleged assault took place, Kavanaugh, Mark Judge and "PJ" Smythe, who she said was nearby alternately yelling "Go for it!" and "Stop" at his buddies. In her written statement to the polygraph examiner, she mentions only 2 boys being in the room. At the hearing, she confidently asserted that there were only 2 boys in the room, Kavanaugh and Mr. Judge - - without ever saying where “PJ” was at the time, or whether she still recalls his being at the party.
    4. Ms. Ford admitted in her WaPo interview that she never told anyone about the alleged incident (even generically) until 30 years afterwards, in 2012. Not the girlfriend who was at the party and whom she saw downstairs when fleeing the house immediately afterwards. Not the unnamed person who drove her home, when she would have been obviously shaken and upset, provoking someone to ask "What's wrong?" Not her parents. Not any of her girlfriends at Holton Arms. Not any counselor or teacher at school. Not her lifelong friend, matron of honor and college roommate Ms. Piwowarski, whom she contacted shortly before going public to see if she could find some further support for her claim. Not even her husband (whom she married in 2002) for the first 10 years of her marriage until 2012. And when she finally did tell their couples therapist about it in 2012, his notes show she did not mention Kavanaugh.
    5. Notwithstanding her claim that she came forward out of civic duty, Ms. Ford has an obvious partisan bias and motive to attack Judge Kavanaugh. She is a registered Democrat; has donated to Democratic candidates and causes; and had participated in liberal protest marches against the Trump Administration. She admitted she was closely tracking the news about the Supreme Court vacancy; that she started thinking about going public against Judge Kavanaugh very soon after it was announced that he was on the White House "short list" in mid-May; and that soon thereafter (early July), she phoned in her allegation to the WaPo tip line in an effort to assassinate his character anonymously and derail his nomination. When that didn't work, within a couple of weeks she went to her local Democratic Congresswoman seeking well-placed Democratic Party allies to help her take down Judge Kavanaugh. After huddling with Rep. Eschoo and her aides, Ms. Ford spoke to Sen. Feinstein and agreed to provide a letter containing her allegation that the Congressional Democrats could use to derail the nomination. She prepared that letter almost immediately and (with Rep. Eschoo's help) had it hand-delivered to Sen. Feinstein's office within 24 hours after it was finished. (Notably, Ms. Ford was still unwilling to stand behind her allegation publicly at that point and insisted on remaining anonymous.) Thereafter, according to both Ms. Ford and Sen. Feinstein, they had further telephone conversations to coordinate their efforts and discuss how best to proceed. Subsequently, after the letter was leaked to the press and her name became public. Ms. Ford then hired a far-left MeToo movement law firm suggested by Sen. Feinstein to represent her (almost certainly being promised that their services would be provided for free). She then went along with their suggestion that she take a polygraph test, which was arranged for her and paid for by her partisan allies. There is a pattern here, and it clearly reflects a partisan motive to kill Judge Kavanaugh's nomination by defaming him.
    6. Ms. Ford's allegation is not only vehemently denied by the accused, a highly respected federal judge, and refuted by all of the other alleged eyewitnesses, but flatly inconsistent with the testimony of dozens and dozens of women who have known, dated and worked with Judge Kavanaugh since high school.
    7. Ms. Ford’s allegation is further circumstantially refuted by Judge Kavanaugh's 1982 high school calendar, which virtually forecloses the possibility that he was at a party with her that summer.
Unless one takes the position that ANY woman alleging sexual assault is to be believed no matter what the evidence may show, the conclusion in this case should be clear. Ms. Ford's allegation cannot be credited.

I have to admit i am 90% leaning toward believing everything you just said. And i am a sexual abuse survivor and a Democrat!

    • @litigator8098
      @litigator8098 6 лет назад +1

Thank you, Amy. Just use your common sense and focus on the evidence (or lack thereof). BTW, my ex-wife was raped shortly before we were married, so I am acutely aware of what sexual abuse victims go through; am extremely sympathetic to their plight; and recognize that they often cannot recall certain details about their abuse. Still, every case must be judged on its own merits - - or lack thereof. In virtually every criminal or civil case in this country, jurors are instructed to use their experience and common sense, to look at the consistency or inconsistency of each witnesses' statements, to compare what the witnesses say to the other known facts, and to examine the evidence to see whether and to what extent a witness' testimony is corroborated or refuted. Here the reliability of the allegation is suspect on its face, because it concerns events 36 years ago. The accuser never told anyone about this for 30 years, and then when she did, did not name the accused to the person she was telling, her therapist. Her various accounts of the incident in her initial letter to Sen. Feinstein on July 30, her written statement to the polygraph examiner two weeks later, her Washington Post interview about a month later and her testimony before the Committee a couple of weeks after that contain numerous inconsistencies as to key matters such as when this allegedly occurred and how old she was at the time, how many people were at the party in question, exactly who allegedly pushed her into the bedroom, and what alleged accomplice Mark Judge supposedly did in that room. All of the other alleged attendees at the party, including one who was Ms. Ford's close girlfriend at the time and had every reason to be supportive of her, denied in one way or another that there was any such incident or that Judge Kavanaugh was involved. Ms. Ford's account is further diminished by her inability to recall various other basic facts about the incident such as how she got to the party, where it occurred, how she got home, etc. And then there are the numerous facts and circumstances - - all matters of record established either by documents or her own testimony - - indicating that she had a partisan motive to name Judge Kavanaugh and worked hand in glove with the congressional Democrats before and after her allegation became public. She is a politically active Democrat and has participated in at least one protest march against President Trump. She admittedly closely followed the news accounts about the Supreme Court vacancy and, within a short time after learning that Judge Kavanaugh was on the "short list," ran to the Washington Post in an attempt to assassinate his character and kill his candidacy anonymously. When that didn't work, she then sought the assistance of a Democratic Congresswoman; conferred with Sen. Feinstein by phone; drafted a letter within 48-72 hours to give Senate Democrats written ammunition to use against the nominee; agreed to be represented by the MeToo movement lawyers that Sen. Feinstein's office recommended to her (whose services were provided to her for free); went along with their suggestion for a polygraph exam by a private examiner they retained and paid for; publicly joined in the Democrats' call for another FBI investigation almost as soon as they made it; initially refused to appear before the Judiciary Committee or to meet with Committee investigators (even in California) when the Democrats were desperately trying to stall the confirmation process; then went along with her lawyers' further stalling by insisting on patently unreasonable conditions for her appearance before the Committee. There is a clear pattern of cooperation with the Democrats for partisan ends here, no matter whether one views Ms. Ford as their pawn or as a willing (if not eager) accomplice. All this is even before we even consider the fact that the accused is a highly respected federal judge, his lifelong record of supporting women, the hundreds of female character witnesses who have come forward on his behalf, or the hard evidence he produced in the form of his 1982 calendar. As a juror, I would not even think this a close call. As a long-time litigator and trial attorney, I would conclude the same. As a former prosecutor, I would not even have charged Judge Kavanaugh, much less proceeded to trial on such a flimsy basis.

@@litigator8098 yeah, and what she described was more typical college stuff everyone did, including myself...i am kinda scratching my head here how this even got this far...
Another point, it took me years to even tell a therapist details of my abuse. I certainly didn't want to tell others because it was personal. Never in billions years would i want to go on national television. And, after i talked about details throughly with a therapist, i DID NOT want to revisit the issue...a good therapist helps you focus on yourself, your present and future. What your abuser does ib their life or career becomes irrelevant to you. Seriously. Because you learn to get the most out of your own life.

I feel horrible that Dr. Ford went through what she did. I believe that she truly believes that she was assaulted. But unfortunately it’s hard to prove after 36 years. That is such a long time. I hope that just by telling her story she will have some freedom in her spirit over what has happened to her. I would love to completely believe one or the other but it’s just impossible. We can’t read their minds and we don’t know the two personally that’s why I think it’s pointless for them to even televise these types of hearings because it’s just another ploy to divide us instead of unite us. I just pray that there is justice However that May look like.

She didn’t tell us how she got to the house! She didn’t live by that house! She didn’t go to one of the schools that the girls I did this to all the other times went to! Can’t you people understand that it is impossible that a girl who went to a different school could have had a contact at one of the other schools and there is NO way someone who is 15 knew someone who could drive and since she didn’t live near the house where this happened, she obviously couldn’t have walked there either! But I do believe this poor woman was assualted at some time some place, just not a time where she clearly remembers. Holy fuck how can anyone think he is telling the truth?!?
