  • I hope this answers some questions that I got on my previous video.
    To demonstrate how to get the tones I used a Strymon Iridium Amp & Cab simulator and a Marshall Vintage Modern 2266 50W head & cabinet.
    Enjoy!

    Bravo, I also have images of other effects pedals used by Noel Gallagher, but still many of these sounds can be heard on Oasis' live dvd "There and then" released in 2001... Congratulations on the video.

    Amazing!! Fantastic tone. Using your settings as a template, I was able to recreate the tone on my boss katana. It never occurred to me to try cranking all the EQ knobs but it sounds super oasis-y. Brilliant video!!!

      Cheers! Yeah cranking everything has always been the key to classic marshall tone and that’s what Oasis was all about in the early days... all knobs on ten and sound massive. Thanks for watching!

    Thanks for this video. Love it. Watched it countless times. I have the NG Riviera and a Marshall DSL 5 but struggling with the tones. So want to buy the Iridium now after watching this. Question please, I want to use the iridium at home to hear out aloud. From research I see I would need an FRFR speaker. How are we hearing your Iridium here? Is it played through a speaker or hearing it direct through a recording on your computer. I want to know please if I buy the iridium and play through a speaker if it will sound like yours still or lose tones etc through a speaker? Thanks

    • @JelleKramerSongs
      @JelleKramerSongs  7 месяцев назад +2

      You are hearing the iridium direct, going into an audio interface and straight into pro-tools. You will lose a bit of that direct sound when you go into a speaker and you will have to deal with the reflections and ambience of the room you’re playing in… but… you can plug in a good pair of headphones straight into the iridium and recreate the direct signal that you are hearing in my video. I do this all the time when I’m at home and the kids are in bed. Works and sounds great.
      Thanks for watching!

      @@JelleKramerSongs thank you for the reply. I will have to find a store with these in stock and test it through a speaker then really. To check them tones etc and see if it is compromised any. Suppose it maybe then depends on the FRFR speaker you use. Again not sure which is best and what to look out for in that respect but will get back on the research. Thanks again

    5:33 so is this just being played through the amp and the tube screamer with nothing else and no other pedals? I want to replicate noels early oasis sound where he had at most 2 or 3 pedals including the wah and tubescreamer. I might have read somewhere about another pedal I can't remember though but I know of those two for sure

    • @JelleKramerSongs
      @JelleKramerSongs  Год назад

      Yes, that’s just the overdriven amp with a little push from a tubescreamer.

    • @JelleKramerSongs
      @JelleKramerSongs  Год назад +5

      I think I saw that pedal in a video. Those are “Amp In A Box” pedals. They work best on a clean amp. A clean pedal platform if you will. In that scenario all the tone and character come from the pedal.
      That’s what I do in a live-situation with my Rat pedal on the clean channel of my amp.
      But in a recording situation nothing compares to the natural overdrive of a tube amp.

    • @domenico_sortino
      @domenico_sortino Год назад

      I have a Scran and think it's a cool pedal. The range from treble booster to light fuzz makes it very versatile. Granted, I use two British tube amps (Vox AC10 & Orange Rocker 15) and a Sheraton as my base sound.

    Great cover! By the way since I've been searching for a cab simulator and strymon iridium is on my radar, I'd like to ask how you normally record with it. I'm kinda unfamiliar with it. Do you just connect your pedal chain to the iridium to an interface and then to the DAW? Or is it still necessary to go through a power amp for better sound? Thanks!

    • @JelleKramerSongs

    Do you use that Rat pedal with any Oasis songs mate? Just ordered an AC15c1 and seen someone say this Rat is a good pedal for that amp. I already own a Tubescreamer and the Boss Blues Driver so not sure if it would give that much different tone. Thanks

    • @JelleKramerSongs
      @JelleKramerSongs  4 месяца назад +1

      The Rat is a must-have with a vox amp. Put the tubescreamer before the rat with the volume maxed out and the drive turned down, for a nice mid-boost and tighter bass for the solo’s…

      Can definitely recommend a Rat, with an AC15C1. The guitar you play has a massive impact on your tone too. I play an Eastman T486, which is a Gibson ES335 copy and with the help of a Rat and Boss SD1 (which I prefer to 99% of Tube Screamers out there) through my AC15C1, I can get some fairly convincing Oasis tones. Heck even a Rat will get you most of the way there. Depends on what era of Oasis you’re going for, because Marshalls and WEMs were a big part of the Definitely Maybe tone which is what a lot of people go for. I’d say a Vox gets you more into the Morning Glory era of things (think She’s Electric, Don’t Look Back in Anger, Champagne Supernova)

    Mate.. great video. I use a JCM900 and the only pedals I use are in ibenez ts9, a boss dd4 and a boss tuner. I 100% agree that a pedal board doesn't make up for a shit amp, but if you've got a great amp, you should't need many pedals (if any) for your core sound.
