    I realized this past Summer and Fall whenever I passed a container when I was out somewhere, I could identify all of the plants in the container! A year ago I wouldn't have been able to do that. That's all because of Garden Answer videos! Thanks Laura and Aaron for increasing my knowledge of plants (and helping me add beauty to my own property)!

    You mentioned that you pulled you plants out of the pots and stored them in the greenhouse for the winter. Can you do a video of how to properly store plants in a greenhouse for the winter and how to care for them long term til they are ready for spring planting? Can you also talk about the temperature flux in the greenhouse and how does that effect the plants since it is not heated? Does it get really hot during the day and then cold at night?

I was inspired after watching Laura plant bulbs this year, but didn't want to pay full price since I don't have experience with flower bulbs. If they do half as well as hers did, I'll be thrilled. Until I found Garden Answer, I was primarily a perennial gardener, exclusively, other than a few hanging baskets on my porch...but y'all have got me HOOKED on annuals in containers now! That Fall container really was absolute perfection; color, texture, scale... everything was spot on. I loved the rudbeckia and am hoping Santa brings me a gift card to Proven Winners. My first thought about your garden last year was how amazing the Silver Falls dichondra was. Such a simple plant, but it elevated every single container it was in. I was also completely enchanted by the cottagey area around your chicken coop! If you had to choose between Playing the Blues or Indiglo Girl salvias, would you have a strong preference?

      @nspector 4 года назад +3

      @@barbll000 Haha, yes, I was a perennial snob too. But I also didn't not fully understand what annuals can do, and didn't know many of them. This was really my first season using them, and wow. Hoping to start some from seed over the winter to save money (perennials too), but have to do more research on that as I've grown almost nothing from seed, and nothing at all indoors.

    • @barbll000
      @barbll000 4 года назад +2

      @@nspector I brought the plants in and I'm keeping a few alive all winter. Closer to spring I'll take cuttings from them to grow more. Trying to save money because honestly I spent about $300 on annuals last year and that's too much. I just went crazy doing planters and had a lot of fun.

    This was nice. I would love to see a video where you ask the viewers to list the plantings they were inspired by or loved the most and you do a video showcasing those snapshots along with the retail of that planting. In this way gardeners can budget for spring planting and put a realistic dollar on their containers or landscape beds so they can achieve the full look you’re displaying. I understand retail varies from region to region, but your channel is geared toward inspiring and helping gardeners create a space they love and that involves a few dollars. I do respect if mentioning money in your videos leaves a bad taste in your mouth. 👩🏽‍🌾👜💳

    Thank you for this! I wish more people knew about the subscription/membership to your channel. I am on the groupie page and people are always saying they had no idea. They also say they don't know they can support you by watching the video on RUclips. I have noticed that most of the time I get the Facebook notification of a new video several hours before the RUclips notification on my phone. Do you have any control over the notifications? Also some of the homestead channels we watch only post their videos to RUclips and only announcements and still photos to Facebook. So they get revenue from all their videos I guess. Not a bad idea!!
    Just a thought, but if you increase your revenue through advertising and membership on RUclips, you can spend it however you want. I don't think you need to set up a complicated process. You can support your community (I know you do plenty), Charity, reinvest in your business, save for retirement!! Whatever. It's not our place to tell you how to spend your hard-earned money. Please just keep doing what you do, you guys are God's blessing to so many. Thank you 💛

    The colour variations in Supertunia Honey were so beautiful in my backyard container this past summer! Will definitely pick up more of those plants next Spring!

      I think that's my favorite Supertunia. That or the Bordeaux.

    I’m so curious as to what your plans are for the fence at the entrance to your property. You’ve hinted a couple of times about something different. 😍😍😍

    Thank you so much for doing this video! I was able to fill in some of my notes from earlier in the season of plants I want to try next year. So inspiring and uplifting on a bleak winter morning! Much love to y’all! 💚♥️🙌

    Really helpful to have so much info on growth habits of so many plants.

    We should have the audience mention suggestions on plants combinations for next year in those self watering containers.

    Yes what a great coffee with Laura video and a look back at some of those awesome plants!!! I totally forgot how some of those coleus did and it was so fun to see them again. The cannas were the most beautiful centerpiece for me. They stayed so tight and formal all season. In my opinion for formal garden it is better centerpiece than grasses.

      Veronika Sladekova I was gifted a ton of cannas and I completely agree with you. They were stunning all year long!

    Will you do a similar series of videos for perennials, shrubs, trees?
