This was a very inspiring video! I bought a small Harbor Freight 8.5 x 6.5 a couple of years ago. It took my brother and me a day to put together. I start seeds in an upstairs area with grow lights and move them down to this one to grow on until planting outside. (unheated) Last summer my niece's husband gave us the parts for 2 30' x 10' long hoop houses along with a large roll of plastic to go over the top. One I use for sheltering azaleas (I have a small nursery) and the other I hope to grow some tomatoes and things in this summer. The one thing that I loved the most about this video was seeing what people did to make their spaces aesthetically pleasing, like the outsides of their spaces.
What a fun video - it’s so interesting to see how creative people can be. I really like the idea of using old windows to fashion into a small greenhouse. Of course, nothing beats a Hartley, but what great ideas for use while you save for the fancy! Also, please know we will happily watch a 3 hour video! You left two hours on the cutting room floor with this one! We will watch as many hours as you care to share Laura!
Love seeing all the pictures and different styles. Could a slideshow be made with pictures and simple descriptions be made and uploaded? Would love to see the ones Laura wasn't able to get through.
I solved the problem of grabby hardware cloth on my sifter by slicing pieces of discarded garden hose lengthwise and slipping it over the edges. No more injuries! I used zip ties to hold it in place. Worked like a charm!
So - another example of something I will probably never have, BUT..... I SO SO Enjoyed this!! Just like everything you do that I can enjoy vicariously!! Thank you!!
19:35 speaking of ferns, the humidity is probably gonna be quite high in the Hartley, would love to see you get some more indoor ferns there! Also maybe more citruses? Orange, tangarine, kumquat?
I loved seeing other people's greenhouses, so many variations , the ingenuity of them. They are all fabulous and unique. Thanks for sharing your photos everyone who sent in.
There's a nursery out here in NW Arkansas has a cute little "back yard" green house. They made it out of mismatch windows and glass doors. It's cute as hell.
I can see why you chose David’s Hartley as your #1!!! I have a Harbor Freight kit, 10x12 and we also built it on a deck to keep it stable and built an interior frame to keep it from bending from the wind
Thanks for taking the time to organize and share this with us all and thanks to those who sent in their photos as well! Such great inspiration and info!
Wow this was so fun to see. Especially the ones that are already landscaped around because that's my goal on mine this season. Love to see all the inspiration ❤️
I purchased the 6’x8’ greenhouse kit from Harbor Freight last year. My two older sons put it together for me for my birthday. I’m loving it even though I wish I had bought the 8’x10’ instead.
That was so much fun!. I so enjoyed seeing all the creative greenhouse. Although I don't have the space for a large greenhouse, this inspired me to look into building a small one.
I thoroughly enjoyed this! Seeing everyone's creativity, so many ideas too. We have one of the Palram greenhouse kits, of course I'd love something bigger but I still love it, we added a self regulating vent opener and I made a bamboo trellis on the south side for climbing plants to shade it for summer crops in raised beds around the inside perimeter and removable shelves added half way up, I did a pebble floor down the center. We've had it for five years now and it's still doing great. Can't wait to see yours!
Inspiring pics. Good to see how people have repurposed materials to form a final product. "Do what you can with what you have" or "make do 'till you can do better", I say.
Anything built to save plants from the winter elements is awesome. With rising prices on plants its definitely worth any effort. I personally got lucky even with a green house I had to leave on a small space heater which saved 99% of all my tropical plants here in Texas where we had a very rare hard winter. Great job everyone and a special Thank You to Garden Answer on this topic.
My husband built me a greenhouse out of old windows and doors for my 40th this year.

Laura thank you for showing them all. Glad they have smaller greenhouses as well. Have a great weekend.
I love this!! Please post more videos of viewers' gardens/greenhouses. :)
The brick floor on the one Greenhouse made me wonder if you were going to stamp your concrete or something neat for your Hartley?
Inspiring pics. Good to see how people have repurposed materials to form a final product.
"Do what you can with what you have" or "make do 'till you can do better", I say.
I am so glad there are people like you in the world - My yard is looking so nice thanks to you I have learned so much watching your vid's thank you
This was such a fun video, I love seeing what other people are doing in their space, I got lots of inspiration.
