  • The world is made a better place by the hard work and creativity of entrepreneurs. But, we do not have enough people taking up the entrepreneurial challenge. Today’s talk will focus on - our brains - why not here? What stops so many people from living their dreams? What prevents them from pursuing their entrepreneurial challenge? Jim will explore the barriers in the human psyche that stop, inhibit or block entrepreneurship and how we can overcome these for success. This will include, our inner critic, our fear of failure, dealing with uncertainty and lack of confidence and of course, what we were taught at school.
Professor Jim Duffy is Chief Executive Optimist of Entrepreneurial Spark - the world’s largest free business accelerator. A Saltire fellow, Jim is leading a movement across the UK with a vision to inspire and enable social change through the action of Entrepreneuring.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx
