      Ok, so, I feel Cronos will win, he'll trap all the pantheon in stasis, and what this means is that he'll cut the ties between humanity and the greek pantheon, starting the age of enlightenment and all of modern history, as turns out that the gods have actually been keeping humanity in an age of scarcity for eons, the gods Cronos froze seem to wake up, but it's actually because they're all now trapped in an age past, and the post-game would be the now-dethroned greek pantheon, fighting Cronos so they can try to make small impacts on reality. A few runs in and Olympus throws a full siege on Hades (mirroring the party on the first game), where Cronos gives the gods a glimpse into the present, the modern, secular age, revealing the true nature of his plan (self-sacrifice) and their own purgatory state as a new part of the *the Past,* and closes the story with the gods swearing vengance upon Cronos and to bring back the age of myth, setting the new status quo and allowing a cohesive post-game loop where Mel's personally happy with her new eternity hanging out with her family, and helping them beat up the old man she doesn't like.

      Mythology is often created for the sake of enforcing a political or social status quo - and in the case of classical mythology, its submission to authority, represented by the gods and their judgement. In a more practical sense, the kings and emperors of the time all linking themselves to divinity in some way is the real purpose of the mythology.
      To our modern sensibilities, that sucks, which is why so many of our modern interpretations of the myths have the gods portrayed as evil, rather than untouchable figures of divinity. Hades isnt really an exception to this rule.

    With how much people are commenting on how justified Prometheus is in siding against the gods, I’m surprised to see how little they are talking about how he calls Meli “agent of change” now there are too many ways to interpret that. Personally I always take it more of him approving of the change she brings, there are worse nicknames to use but he chose one that implies she will cause the change, mind you change also implies neither the golden age or the age of gods, since both are in flux.
    Like isn’t it entirely possible Prometheus is not rebelling but instead fighting Mel to make her stronger, like Hecate?
    Also of note for those saying chronos isn’t terrible, Odysseus is a mortal with more reason then most to hate the gods, Chronos litteraly as the first move captured the most true neutral god there is, In Greek Myth Hades is generally agreeable. And then he opened the gates to the afterlife just to have an army, while the Greek gods are asses who need to be taken down a peg, Chronos at worst is making empty promises so he has an army for revenge, or he wants to make a world where there is no night, death, dreams, or sleep. Aka entropy, or the cession of anything change. Also worth nothing that Prometheus was there for the original golden age and categorically wasn’t for it, I’d not put it past him to be in it just for the revenge, but I don’t think he actually agrees with chronos.

    • @cindermoth3421
      @cindermoth3421 15 дней назад +1

      Agreed, based on the pieces of info we keep finding about Prometheus even Chronos is being denied some information from Prometheus' foresight. And with him knowing he was going to be defeated there eventually... Well, it raises the question about what game Prometheus is truly playing here. Because either he doesn't care about him and Chronos being stopped just for the opportunity to get some limited vengeance on the gods, or he has some entirely different goal.
      I bet on the latter. Besides the pain his punishment caused him it probably gave him more than enough time to come up with some kind of plan as well.

    Is no one going to talk about how just absolutely incredible the music is? Especially coupled with the fight and the subject matter. It's like this majestic, fast-paced march forward, almost as if to symbolize Prometheus' self-destructive march of vengeance against the gods. He probably knows that he will lose, just like he probably knew about his punishment, but he still chooses to do what he is doing regardless, in both cases. It's a relentless, almost obsessive march, ever forward, ever against his own fate, because that's what he feels he must do. That's what I hear in this music.
    That struggle against one's own fate, even with the knowledge of the outcome not being favorable - it ironically feels very similar to the human, mortal condition. And he is, in a way, the true patron of mortals in the greek mythos.

      OK, fun facts time. Kronus (King of the Titans, who inherited Authority over the earth and agriculture hence the Scythe) and Chronos (Primordial of time, older than even gaia, let alone the titans) used to be two different figures, but a long time ago - by the end of the greek era actually, this is not a modern retelling problem - they were united into a single character, like we see in Hades, Percy Jackson and so many others. Curiously, the romans kinda forgotten Chronos althogeter , giving back Saturnus Authority over agriculture but not bringing up the Authority over time at all. The only media to bring up their difference are SMT and Smite, the but the former gave Saturnus Fire powers, even if by description he is still has the agriculture Authority.

      Yes! If you read the details of the update they made Chronos, Cerberus and Charybdis I believe faster, like there's less time in between phases. Eris too they switched her so she doesn't stand in the flames, and I don'rlt remember reading about another change but she does move so fast now. I can barely hit her! Buuut I do find it more easy to avoid her... So idk. Also I haven't seen anything about this in the update but I feel like some regular foes, mini boss or even boss attacks hit a bit harder -even in godmode!-.

    Melinoe still feels very weak compared to zag. Something about having a 3rd ability slows combat down so much. Like I have to do 2x more work to setup high dps. First gotta cast a circle so enemies dont hit me/move before I charge. Then hope the circle hit detection works to get the bonus damage for hitting enemies in its radius with an attack. Finally you get to do max dmg for maybe one attack or 2 casts, and repeat the whole process. It does not feel fast even with sprinting. Also the sprint mechanic just adds more worthless boons that are not easy to actually use in combat let alone remember what they do/how they activate/if they drain mana.

    While I agree with it being justified I dont agree with how he's going with it. The irony that hatred can be a flame that consumes him and could seal his fate just like before if he doesn't douse the flame with rationality and calmness, despite how justifiable that anger is. Because when Chronos most likely betrays him for siding with the olympians... he will be nothing left but an empty shell of his former self forced to contemplate how easily he was manipulated... then he will be truly nothing, because wouldn't the Titan of Foresight have foreseen it coming? No, because he let the smoke of his burning hatred and anger blind him to this possible inevitability, all because he focused his foresight only on the destruction of the gods but no further to what Chronos might if not will do to him.

      It could be other reasons for wrath. Prometheus is aware of something we are not… this much we know… it could well be his betrayal might be in the script, and defeat at melenoe’s hand are set factors, but he is still trying to rig the game in melenoe’s favour. A key thing is the telegraphs… if he were trying to best you without reservations and go all out… he would not be giving you a lead in… you would just be struck… instead… he shows you “hey… if you stand there, will hit you. Move.” He also describes her as an agent of change… change is not good or bad necessarily, but I could see Prometheus seeing many ways that the gods and melenoe’s actions might cause things to become far worse. Chronos needs to be defeated… but currently melenoe’s on a quest to kill him… and likely fuck up everything by accident.
      I don’t know what’s the game at play… but I have a feeling what awaits us at the top of Olympus is going to be a problem that is going to flip the script for us… it could be a good twist… or it could be a bad one. Hard to know considering I am probably not sure where hades 2 plans on going.

I mean Zag fought so hard to escape from the Underworld in the first game - he deserved a chance to see it too
