The only thing unique you did was enforced FAT32 on your large drive. Would you mind telling the public how much you ended up paying to Mazda dealership to get this fixed (of course 5 years ago)?
I hope you hit 3 ,enter and clear and 2 enter and clear then hit exit leave car for 3 minutes before you did 99 to install update. I’ve fixed plenty of bricked items before, it’s not impossible, there is always away. You just just have to find it.
Lol sounds like you had the 59 FW and didn't install the IDW70 package. Mazda updated to the 59 FW because they were afraid of people making changes like you did. You can do a workaround on 59 FW but you need to hook a serial connection up in the back of the CMU and install an exploitation FIRST, then you can do what you want. 59 FW locked up the original 57 FW loopholes. I did the entire carplay conversion on my wife's Fiat Abarth 124 and it was fine when following the directions. No Mazda logos, nav works, carplay and Android auto work.
I had zero issues updating my 2017 Mazda CX-5 which I just got twice, just check the MD5 Hash of the update files you get and make sure they match precisely, ensure you use a Windows computer to flash format a 32GB flash drive from a reliable brand to FAT32 (Not NTFS), then hash check both the file you download and the file you copy to your USB to make sure it is precisely the same and has integrity. Then follow the instructions precisely on the official leaked installation manual for it. I was able to go from 59.0 or something like that (original firmware which is very old) to 70.0.x.x. to now 74.x.x the newest firmware and even install the CarPlay module. EDIT if you are on really old firmware I think 30-40 something you must update to 50 something first, I cant recall off the top of my head
Hey dude. I just updated my Mazda 3 2014 BM from 59 to 70 with no issue. You probably failed at some step. I saw a workaround how to initiate reinstall with blank screen.

good tip i downloaded the tweak to my car on a flash drive and i don't think i'm going to plug it in to my car because i' have the newest 70. firmware update. not worth messing up my 2018 car which is still covered for another 100k just to get android auto. i will keep using my phone for waze and google maps or the map that comes with car
If you have the 70.00.100 and higher firmware, it already supports AA. You just need to install the new USB ports / wires and AA / ACP will appear in the Apps section. You can buy the kit off Amazon for about $170. It was pretty simple to install in my Mazda 3. Only need a trim pry tool for a small piece on the dash and a socket wrench for one bolt. The center console area all pops apart easily.
Any chance you can get me the info on how to fix this. Happened to me also. I did my car no problem. Wife has the exact same car and ran into this black screen issue.
Given that you said that you know or confident on what you are doing, it should have worked. However, its not working as you probably missed a step or two that totally corrupted your system.

A normal system boots up automatically by itself when car is on ACC or started. The above Factory Reset can also be done via Touch-Screen if it is working OK (not Black). Also recommend this Factory Reset IF you have other issues AFTER ANY Firmware UPDATE. HOW TO PUT CMU TO SLEEP FOR CACHE RESET. CAN ALSO WORK IF HAVE NAVIGATION NOT WORKING ISSUES, REMOVE ‘SD CARD’ AFTER ACC MODE OFF AND BEFORE YOU LOCK UP THE CAR FOR EXIT WALKAWAY. Put the CMU into a sleep condition this way….. 1. Roll up all windows, SHUT hood/bonnet and boot/trunk/hatch. 2. Set ACC Ignition OFF, exit car, SHUT and then LOCK all doors. 3. Walkaway over 5 metres with all Keys/Openers and wait for 6 minutes, after this period all stand-by info in cache is erased. 4. Return to and Enter car, first Install SD Card and THEN put Ignition to ACC mode and verify 'Invalid SD Card' has gone or your other issues are gone. 5. Be aware that sometimes your cars location can disrupt 'GPS Signal', like car is locked in steel garage, or next to tall building or overhead high-power lines, move car into open space
"everything went perfectly until I turned my car off top early". Bro to early is to early, doesn't matter if it's just a wee bit, it still got shit to do and you abrupted it. Firmware is literally the operating systems most fundamental instructions on how it should run, messing up the installation will ofc fuck it up.
Thanks for video. I see you have a Kia. I’m deciding between buying a Kia Sportage and cx5. Both 2016 models. How do you find the Kia compared to Mazda. I think I’m going for the Mazda due to interior quality but Kia has more accessories. Thanks

Hi where can I find the files to perform the update, I have cx5 2018
see. 59.00.504 4A N
You didn't know what you were doing.
You gotta follow instructions to a T. I've done it twice no issues.
Did u try to unplug it then plug it back in. That should work u don't know how tech works obviously never had issues with wifi
Hey dude. I just updated my Mazda 3 2014 BM from 59 to 70 with no issue. You probably failed at some step. I saw a workaround how to initiate reinstall with blank screen.
" I had 75K miles and I ended up paying $200 to fix everything. Unfortunately a few months later my car was involved in a hit and run with a semi truck. Insurance totaled it and I lost my car..... " xLauant quote from 2020.
It happened to me. You can fix it . If you had made a full copy of your system then reset the internal memory by wiping it manually then loaded that bitch up with the copied content. Lol
I dunno how you fucked this You can literally start the update and leave it run from 15 minutes 😅 I’ve never seen the firmware update brick it unless you somehow completely fucked up the absolute most basic task.
i tried to update mine but something happened and i have broke mine. Now screen is black and i just hear radio, that I can't tune. The car is starting ok, but infotainment ia gone
Did you fix this
Did you find the solution though ??????
fat32 is 8tb max partition limit, no?
Can anyone provide a link to the file for Australia/Newzealand version.
Much appreciated.
Can someone send me the link to update my 2016 mazda 6 , im currently on OS 51.00.351
Follow the instructions and you’ll be okay
So, to recap:
DO NOT MOD YOUR MAZDA...
unless you're slightly more patient than an ADHD squirrel.
Svp, J'ai besoin du nom de site internet pour télécharger la dernière version.
Did you try putting it on accessory and then taking the knob control knob and holding it in for 30 seconds I guess then turn the car off and See if that works and get you back your system

So I have a black screen now. How can I get it back to functioning? I was on 55
De la 55 qué versión instalaste que hizo tu pantalla negra brou
It works if you follow the instructions. If it didn’t work, you didn’t follow the instructions, sorry.
bruh even 8 year olds can follow that instructions, I've done this update twice.
What was the outcome dude? How much did it cost in the end to fix?
$1200 but I lucked out and Mazdas extended the warranty for the computer system.
@@xLauant Bloody hell! Yeah, you were lucky alright - think I'll go down the official route rather than risking this. Thanks for the heads up and reply dude
@@xLauant How many miles were on your car at the time? And what was this extension of warranty for the computer system?
Mandy Frank-Lucero I had 75K miles and I ended up paying $200 to fix everything. Unfortunately a few months later my car was involved in a hit and run with a semi truck. Insurance totaled it and I lost my car.....
Can buy a new cmu if you want for cheaper if you replace it yourself. It is important to read the instructions properly so you dont brick it.
good tip i downloaded the tweak to my car on a flash drive and i don't think i'm going to plug it in to my car because i' have the newest 70. firmware update. not worth messing up my 2018 car which is still covered for another 100k just to get android auto. i will keep using my phone for waze and google maps or the map that comes with car
I has that problem, I manage to fix it, it's a little bit complicated but I fix it
Any chance you can get me the info on how to fix this. Happened to me also. I did my car no problem. Wife has the exact same car and ran into this black screen issue.
Worked fine for me.. just think before you do things🤯
Given that you said that you know or confident on what you are doing, it should have worked. However, its not working as you probably missed a step or two that totally corrupted your system.
Sigh, Im sorry....Im not trying to be mean....but this is so stupid the fact that hes so slow....I made a mistake with the instructions and I just reset it....BAM!!
just don't be cheap and pay to get it done right.
OMG.... thanks for the advice.... this killed my guts for good
BLACK TOUCH-SCREEN :
RESTORE FACTORY SETTINGS (NO GUARANTEES)
Use this option if something goes wrong during Firmware Updating
and or you have an unresponsive black or blank touch-screen,
this will not work if you already have Bricked the CMU.
I SUGGEST YOU DO THE WALKWAY (Page 2) BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT
TO FIX ANY ISSUES.
IF you can hear radio still on this ‘may’ work.
Put car into Amber 'ACC' Light ON (Accessory Mode)Do Not
Start Engine.
Wait 30 seconds for Connect to settle as you cannot see the touchscreen as it is blank or black.
Perform these setting inputs *below precisely as you are
flying blind..
IF you make an input error you must turn off ACC system and
power down car SLEEP CMU below and do #1 to #3, and then
repeat BLIND setting input process *again.
*PRESS "Home Button" above Commander Knob ONCE.
*TURN Silver Command Wheel 2 clicks to the Right.
*PRESS Down on Commander Black Knob ONCE.
*SLIDE-PUSH move Commander Knob 6 times to the Right.
*TURN Silver Command Wheel 5 clicks to the Right.
*PRESS Down on Commander Black Knob ONCE.
*TURN Silver Command Wheel 1 click to the Right.
*PRESS Down on Commander Black Knob ONCE.
After a while the loading of screen and MAZDA logo should occur.
If Black Touch-Screen continues you may need your CMU
hardware repaired or replaced.
A normal system boots up automatically by itself when car is on
ACC or started.
The above Factory Reset can also be done via Touch-Screen if
it is working OK (not Black). Also recommend this Factory Reset IF
you have other issues AFTER ANY Firmware UPDATE.
HOW TO PUT CMU TO SLEEP FOR CACHE RESET.
CAN ALSO WORK IF HAVE NAVIGATION NOT WORKING
ISSUES, REMOVE ‘SD CARD’ AFTER ACC MODE OFF AND
BEFORE YOU LOCK UP THE CAR FOR EXIT WALKAWAY.
Put the CMU into a sleep condition this way…..
1. Roll up all windows, SHUT hood/bonnet and boot/trunk/hatch.
2. Set ACC Ignition OFF, exit car, SHUT and then LOCK all doors.
3. Walkaway over 5 metres with all Keys/Openers and wait for 6
minutes, after this period all stand-by info in cache is erased.
4. Return to and Enter car, first Install SD Card and THEN
put Ignition to ACC mode and verify 'Invalid SD Card' has gone or
your other issues are gone.
5. Be aware that sometimes your cars location can disrupt 'GPS
Signal', like car is locked in steel garage, or next to tall building or
overhead high-power lines, move car into open space
Its not work plz help me
Thanks so much I'll give this a try
@@xLauant Did it work :)?
@@xLauant Let me know if it worked for you. I might have a different solution for you :)
@@davemcdreamdavemcdream5040 Can you tell me the other solution?
Lesson learned. Pay the money and get Mazda dealership to do it.😂😂
If you have a bricked CMU. There is hope to get it back. I've done it easy
Hoooow buddy
How did you do that?
Turn the car up while you’re holding the master knob down and let go of it and turn the car back on
So what would the dealership charge us the connect it on our 2017.5 Mazda 6!??
Thanks! 😊
about $1200 give or take...
@@xLauant $1200?? Who told you that?
"everything went perfectly until I turned my car off top early". Bro to early is to early, doesn't matter if it's just a wee bit, it still got shit to do and you abrupted it. Firmware is literally the operating systems most fundamental instructions on how it should run, messing up the installation will ofc fuck it up.
Thanks man I feel the same way!!!!
Almost positive if you disconnect your battery for 30 minutes and try it would work but yanno
Thanks for video. I see you have a Kia. I’m deciding between buying a Kia Sportage and cx5. Both 2016 models. How do you find the Kia compared to Mazda. I think I’m going for the Mazda due to interior quality but Kia has more accessories. Thanks
I would have to say the CX5 over the Sportage. Both Mazda and Kia have stepped up their interior game. However, when it comes to all-around quality Mazda has Kia beat for the 2016 model year
This is laughable. Follow the instructions. I just updated to 74. never done this before and worked perfectly.
I call Bullshit on the price because Mazda wants to charge me 169.00 and tax to update the firmware on my 2018 CX5 and that's a freaking ripoff
My issue is another thing I NEED HELP What mine does is sometimes, specially when it’s cold, when I turn it on my phone gets connected to the Bluetooth but there is no sound. The screen is black. You can see the arrow like playing but no sound. It goes away 20-30 mins after driving. I cannot find any solution 😞
yeah i own a 2017 cx5 thanks for telling me
I have the same experience…
Did this with a friend on 3 different Mazda vehicles, 2x 14 3s and 1x 16 6. All 3 were updated to 70.00.335C without a single issue. Followed a video I found on here - ruclips.net/video/dKS3WpcxIYo/видео.html and everything went well.
I literally just did that same install an hour ago and went perfectly.
I need a help...the install not complete and i have a problem i lisn only to the radio and i can see anthing..
fixed?
