    I can’t thank you enough, I honestly was super lost with everything I was reading on different forums, and the oficial instructions but this video helped me understand the whole process, plus it gave me confidence to do it myself saving a couple of hundreds of dollars. Plus the links are still working after being uploaded for a couple of years. You gained yourself a new subscriber!! Thank you once again.

    Thank you very much for the help. Thanks to this video and the link for the files I successfully updated my firmware and saved hundreds of dollars. Also, for the record, my 2017 CX-5 also took roughly 23 minutes. And a note for anyone about to attempt the update- the "percent ready" bar is not linear, so don't freak out when it gets stuck at a certain percentage for a few minutes.

      I'm about to do the upgrade on my '17 Mazda3. I see on my.hidrive.com that the latest firmware is 70.00.367A. I'm assuming that's the one that doesn't require the fail-safe file and I can just install the update file? I'm also reading that I should upgrade instead to 70.00.100A first before doing any firmware more recent than that. I might just play it safe and download the same exact files you did with the fail-safe.

    • @Killobyte
      @Killobyte  4 года назад +2

      @@pike_merez You will need to upgrade to 70.00.100A first and it does use a failsafe. Once you are at 70.00100A, you can then upgrade to the latest if you wish, which does not have/use a failsafe.

    I don't know if this has been brought up but I thought I'd share. Windows, by default, will not allow you to format a flash drive larger than 32GB with FAT32. It only allows NTFS or exFAT. If that's all you have, then there are third party programs that will allow you to format larger flash drives to FAT32.
    I tried using the exFAT format because I had a 64GB flash drive and the CMU would not recognize the drive. Hope this helps!
    Now I get to start all over again with a smaller flash drive! Haha!

    • @FernandoSanchezLandeo
      @FernandoSanchezLandeo 5 лет назад

      You can find it on the fuse panel after you release the hood but also you can disconnect the negative on the battery for 5 min, remove the Negative Lead(hold up so it does not touch any metal), stomp on Brake Pedal a few times, wait 5-10 mins), replace Negative lead back on post quickly and tighten, just make sure no unnecessary load is on, like doors open, lights on, you might see a small spark at post that will be ECU, it is OK just put back clamp firmly, fast and hold firm while you tighten the nut.

    "No New Update Packages Available" when I insert my USB stick and hold the 3 buttons to enter the 99 code. Tried 2 different Innovera sticks (8gb and 16gb, Fat32 and ExFat) and can't get FW70 files (both .up files, FailSafe and ReInstall) to recognize. Borrowed someone's PC (I'm all Apple, so obv I want CarPlay), and even verified Hashes match (via Checksum PC app), AND verified the Innovera sticks (via H2Testw PC app). Any ideas besides trying different USB sticks?

      I'm not sure which would be for Chile. Does it show one of the following on your touch-screen when you look at the current version?
      North America, USA, Canada, Mexico, known as 'NA N' on your Touch-screen.
      Europe and UK, France, Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Russia, etc, known as 'EU N' on your Touch-screen.
      Australia/NZ, Southern Hemisphere, South Asia, Oceania, known as '4A N' on your Touch-screen.
      JP M is Japan.
