Can you do a interview with koston after quarantine is over
Koston my favorite skater since I started in 95'. I remember I would watch this and then Mouse dropped and wore that VHS out. The Milk white VHS. Miss the mid to late nineties when I was young and the whole crew was ripping Lakewood, Long Beach, and Los Angeles up. The old little hubba's were so damn fun. I miss those.
I feel you! I started in 94’ the first video I picked up was Goldfish! Was blown away, Such a dope video, soundtrack etc!! Played that Video literally every day! When mouse came out it was a wrap!! We would play that before every skate sesh and just be pumped!
We need a koston episode, also crob, deawon song, rodney mullen, Stacy Peralta, Andy Anderson, tom penny, arto saari, eliot sloan, danny way, wee man, atiba, Steve rocco, and Elissa steamer
Mariano
and or heath kirchart, leigh peterson, steve olson, josh beagle
I must have watched this video 500 times. Every day, multiple times. When Koston's part came out in the H-Street video it wasn't mind blowing so much (although now I'm not sure why not-it's amazing, it just didn't seem to get a lot of attention at the time). When the first 101 vid came out, that was his big coming out moment, everyone kind of freaked out, and then this poured on that much more of it and cemented him as the GOAT.
I love skateboarding because of the hype and stoke we get from watching sick ass skaters is some of the most wholesome, supportive shit ever.
Even in this format the videos are great
He was dominant 10 years before people remember him being dominant.
He was at the top of the game from 93 to 04
Love these segments, it’s like skate history segment and puts into perspective how skateboarding has evolved
Early 2000 skating is the golden era for me. Some many good video parts. There really was a special feeling about that era of skating.
It wasn't to commercial mainstream. But popular enough to have some balanced recognition. Didint have social media and literally every kid bombarding company to be the next big thing.
You could still skate street spots with out getting the boot.
And mega crops weren't dipping there fingers in to every company's pocket.
Skate shops still strived.
Good times my friends good times.
But could you smoke cigs and watch porn in the local shop when you were 17
I really hope you guys can get back together again, this all just seems crazy. Wish everyone the best.
-a never skated fan
Yes, Eric Koston was fully established in 1993. Not quite the legendary status he would attain later on, but he was well known. He obviously stood out in Falling Down because he had the last part. I remember a Big Brother interview or article from this time that played on the famous “Eric Clapton Is God” graffiti, with the “Eric Koston Is God” switch up.
such a ground breaking part, love all the early world camp videos
love that y'all are doing reviews of classics. Could you guys talk about the Philly section of Eastern Exposure 2? I feel like Rog would have a lot to say about that
It's sick to know how good skaters were in the early 90's. it's humbling cuz if u grew up after that era, u might look down on the 90's thinking the skating sucked, then u take a look at the footage and realize that's not the case. I saw Koston doing impossible front smith grinds down skatepark handrails in contests in his epicly laterd when he was young.... That's some shit that like you'd expect to see Andy Anderson do today. How crazy that these insane tricks were going down way back in the early 90's. Koston really is the goat.
Im going through the same thing as steezus I have had surgery on one of my shoulders and still need surgery on the other they both dislocate almost every time I skate and I love it's been hard to get the vibe back good to hear he got stoked again I need something to find that feeling again
I started skating again two months ago and found out my knees are freaking shot. I'm 46 its been 20+ years so I have to do muscle strength building , my legs are so bad. I still have good balance , I can ollie , shuvit even 360 nocomplys but my knees are so bad .
Now I'm focusing on just cruising and enjoying that im still able to ride. ..Gotta get these dry rubber band tendons to loosen up. I honestly never should have quit , but life does that to us, I had no idea how much I missed it.
Wheels of Fire & Streets of Fire is my goto ... Nata's and Corey O'Brian old school , the golden age they were literally creating what street is today.
Freaking loved those days.
Oh, man, I forgot I was looking forward to this being a new regular thing but they didn't do one yesterday. It would be cool if they would watch and talk about some random old skate parts every week, or at least every couple weeks.
I was 1 years old and this is still dope
could the whole 9 club group watch and commentate an entire full length video? is that insane? has that already been answered on other comments? love you guys.
We did 360 flips to noseslide because of this video.
A little unknown ripper called Klaus Dieter Span did this (14:53) at the age of 16 only one year later ('94) in freaking Aachen, Germany at a crazy 3 flat 3 double set as well. May have been the same year even…
Circa it's time was a gem of its day. Yeah it came free with circa shoes back well before free skate content was the norm. Sierra Fellers, Dennis Durrant, Tony Tave, Jon Allie, Windsor James, Adrian Lopez, Peter Ramondetta and freakin Colt Cannon. The music was solid and everyone crushed it. Looking back it really should've been called 'ahead of it's time'. That video could drop today and still be relevant.
Id love this much more if the video was bigger and with sound. Great job seriously you guys are killing it
You up on current events? Quarantine Hahahaha thanks!
@@nineclubclips I think he means the Koston Footage.
Yes. That's what I meant, my apologies. @Nine Club Highlights @Niko Kääpä
Trilogy was the first real video tape I ever witnessed
Damn 93 holy shit
Back when I'd watch Questionable and SHS all the time, I'd call the tiny wheels 'ridin on penny's'
A review on the blind section from virtual reality would be sick
H street video launched him, and then 101 made everyone think hes one of the best, Promo was the first video he did for 10, he was the jogger in it too.
. I think Mike Carrol said all of this in Erics epicaly Later'd.
How has koston not been on
anyone what back surgery did steez have? As a skater who's also had back surgery I am curious..
Or “The Reason” thanks for reminding me)
Why hasn't koston been on yet?
Now that the experience is gone what do we do with our Wednesday evenings? These conversations are going to be missed!
Clyde Singleton was 100% not in SNUFF. He debuted in 20 Shot Sequence.
I ollied emb 7 in 90 and that was pretty good at the time . switch tre down it is pretty gnar
Why has koston not been on?
They need to review 411-40 i think its the best
kostons swongoooooooooooooooo push !
Goldfish came out in 1994, not 1993. Come on, Rog!
His wheels were like 30s
koston sealed the deal when his h-street video part hit.....You knew he was grade A
Goldfish came out summer 94
Exactly. Girl wasn’t even launched until August/September 1993.
This is coming from left field so forgive me, but what do all 4 of these legends do for income these days? I mean, are they still pulling in sponsor money? managing teams? I am just curious because living in LA by the beach isn't cheap haha. Not hating, at all Love You Guys...Just curious how you do it 👍
Get koston on
You guys need to review transworld Feedback )
keep reviewing old videos
Koston in 93? Really??? Gonz and Natas were doing this shit in the 80's. Really missing the old format...
So are we.
ILL
That is a fakie 3 flip backside nosegrind. Or a 3 flip TO switch 5,O. It doesn’t change tense until you say TO. My two cents anyway
