I just want to say something: I had poor eyesight when I was younger but I tried to ignore it because I didn't want glasses or contacts. I did my research and started eating more healthy foods such as red meat and tons of fruits. And my eyesight did improve to the point where I saw very clearly. I had really bad malnutrition so my eyes weren't working like they should have been, so when I started eating all these nutrients they returned to normal. I'm pretty sure it works for some people if they're still young and suffer from the same problem
If you have a blender, make a smoothie. Recipe: Two cups organic baby spinach, half an orange, 5 chunks pineapple or mango. Chop up some fresh ginger to add. One cup of orange juice or water. Blend till smooth and drink. You can also use blueberries or strawberries. Strawberries are good for the lungs too. Make sure if you eat eggs, get the pasture raised eggs. The yolks are a beautiful orange color full of more vitamins and minerals. The commercial eggs come from chickens in cages or crammed together in pens. They are fed soy and corn diet, also injected with stuff. Pasture raised are roaming free eating of the grass and bugs. I get the organic Vital Farms pasture raised eggs from Whole Foods. You can also make a nice vegetable soup with organic carrots, onions, garlic and mushrooms. I use organic baby Bella and Shiitake which is good for lowering blood pressure. Also get some organic bone broth like Pacific unsalted chicken bone broth. Sauté veggies in extra virgin olive oil in large soup pot or Dutch oven. Add bone broth and bring to a rolling boil, then turn down flame and simmer with lid on for 30 minutes. Add peas towards the end or spinach or kale. Forgot about canned Salmon and Tuna good for eyes with Omega 3 fatty acids. Also canned sardines which have good source of iodine. Get the Wild Planet salmon and sardines. All there canned fish is wild caught. Don’t forget avocados, good source of vitamins E, A, C, b7, b5, b12. 58 milligrams of magnesium, and more potassium than a banana. Not to mention biotin’s. Mash it up with sea salt, chopped up garlic and fresh lime juice. I spread mine on a toasted whole wheat club roll. You can put slices of eggs or lettuce.
Glad it was helpful! I am glad you like those foods. I wish you all the best! If you have any other questions you would like me to address please feel free to leave a suggestion anytime.

What the heck happened. Non smoker, too. Is there Anything we can do at this stage to preserve what is left??
Great information! I ate more veggies as a kid. Grew up and diet suffered. I have AMD that slowly progressed to flashes. Recently started green smoothies and added sardines and more sweet potato. almost immediately the flashes stopped! If I skip 2 days, they return. Drs keep saying things are ok, but this has been a slow progression over 10 years. If Drs had recommended supplements or diet, I would have followed their advice!

Moringa has 10 times as much vitamin A as carrots. Even though it's a green plant (tree). Aronia is also a lot higher in it's antioxidant effect than orange. It has a substance called OPC which boosts vitamin C (which it also has) by a factor of 10. Aronia is a lot more potent than orange in it's antioxidant effects.

The best food item for a healthy eye vision is Cod liver fish oil. It's rich in Vitamin A, D, Omega 3 and so on. Carrots are also very good for your eyesight, rich in vitamin A. Apple is also good overall health giving fruit.👍👍👍👍👍👍.

Hey . In January i have blurry vision for 15 days . Then i got my check up and eye test was normal. They suggested me good diet . At that time i had a blurry vision along with stiffness and swelling . And within days everything got ok but now when i wake up in mornings i have swollen eyelids and if i spend some time on screen there is stiffness and wounds in my eyes. I worry if there is any brain disorder. I have no other problem like headache. Can you plz explain it ??

What do you think about optometrists who want to practice surgery? The Safe Surgery Coalition is fighting a Colorado bill.
Hi Anna! I would have to look more into the bill to have an opinion on it. As you know, I am an ophthalmologist that performs surgery so you can imagine my feelings. Please link any info you think is pertinent! Perhaps I can do a video on the subject. Thank you for sharing what is on your mind.

How about nuts? I understand walnuts, almonds and pecans are pretty good for eye health.
Nuts are definitely a healthy option especially for a snack option!
I thought we had busted the Ansel keys myth of “ Fat is Bad” and is very much needed in our diet
You're right, fat is necessary, but only in small quantities.
Absolutely correct!
