@@Ledger I do have a question please, I transferred my coins from an exchange into the live ledger, silly question but once it's on the ledger app that's it all done? It's officially offline? There is no final action or task?
in truth I like that ledger is from Europe, I don't want my money going through Chinese exchanges etc.
I bought my nano s 2 years ago thru a 3rd party.
Since the seed phrase was generated on the inital setup, im guessing thats a good sign the device has not been compromised and still has its integrity?
All packaging and materials appeared in tact

Thank for the great video. Question off topic if you don't mind. I have a few Ledger Nano S devices. I purchased them a few years ago, use them just a handful of times a year, and have them in safe storage. My first Ledger Nano S device's screen slowly began to degrade and eventually went 'black.' I messaged Customer Support a few months ago but no reply. I noticed similar screen issues on my 2nd device a few months ago. I just now checked the screen and its impossible to read; it's essentially dead in the water. Do you know if this is a common issue with Ledger Nano S screens? Also, I'm planning on buying a Ledger Nano S plus and importing seed phrase from my 2nd device. There shouldn't be an issue correct? Thanks for you support.

However, if your Ledger devices are still in the warranty period then you can reach out to our team and we'll send a replacement. What about hardware integrity? What if someone added a new chip or so? Does 'genuine check' covers that too?
I’ve the same question with you. I just bought one from a vietnamese reseller accredited by Ledger, and wonder what if they add a new chip inside because it’s easy to open up. The seal is also easy to fake. Is there any sanction if an official reseller sell scam Ledger product?

is it best practice to factory reset the device as soon as you get it, even if you are welcomed with the greeting screen?
Hello, this isn't necessary, you wouldn't't be able to reset a device which is not set up. The best practice is to set it up and complete the steps below:
- set up your PIN
- generate 24 words recovery phrase from your Ledger device's screen
- establish a genuine check connection with Ledger Live installed from Ledger.com

If you were able to complete these 3 steps, then your device is safe to use, if you come across any hurdles, let us know, and we'll gladly assist.

I bought a Ledger Nano S Plus on Amazon but got a Ledger Nano X instead.
The plastic wrap was already removed and the metal part had a big finger print on it.
The online test nevertheless showed that the device is genuine and when I first started it I got the welcome message and then had to set up a new pin and a new seed phrase.
When I first connected it to my laptop and Ledger Live it showed me a firmware update that I installed.
After that I had to restart with the pin and a completelly new seed phrase again for some reason.
However the 3 provided papers for writing down the seed phrase were still empty when I opened the package and I had to use the 2nd seed phrase because the first one was deleted after the firmware update for some reason.
Now I don't know if it's a good idea to send my crypto currencies to this ledger or if I should order a new one from Ledger directly.
On their page they mention that their devices are manufactured in different periods and that of course their packaging varies,
but for you to be more secure, send yourself about 10 dollars to verify that your device has not been tampered with and is genuine
Since you reset it & it’s asking to set up a new PIN + new recovery phrase, you should be 100% safe.
Mine only turns on when it is plugged in. Odd.
I just saw the Welcome screen but the clear bag/seal did look sketchy. I bought mine in advance from Best Buy and picked up the next day.

I just bought my 6th ledger nano. The pop up where it says genuine check doesn't appear for me on my ledger live. Why is that? I have had ledger live installed for 4 years on my PC and already have 5 ledgers connected.

what if the box was sealed, but I have no instructions page and no recovery words pages? also, I have the device from 10 minutes ago, and I put some bright light on it, and it has some scratches. like 3-4 scratches. This smells fishy not gonna lie.
Why does customs have to be like that? It is coming from Ledger directly and now it still feels unsafe because someone tore open the package.
Don't worry, when you're setting up your Ledger Nano device with Ledger Live, you will undergo a genuine check to assure your device is legitimate 🙂

Hi - this is not the case. If you're referring to LedgerX, a company owned by FTX, we are Ledger SAS, a completely separate entity. Regardless, even if something happened to Ledger as a business, you'd be able to restore your funds on a new wallet using your 24 words.

Hey Richie - starred account will also be displayed in the "starred account" section in the bottom left corner of the Ledge Live app, starring an account will give you quick access to it, it's a bit similar to a desktop shortcut

@@Ledger ok.. but i just couldn't find the "starred account" section in the bottom left corner of the Ledge Live. I am using the latest version of ledger live app in pc and mobile phone.
Sure - the mobile app doesn't have the starring feature but the desktop app should definitely have it provided you're running a recent version. Make sure the left-hand-side panel bar is not collapsed otherwise that section will not be invisible.
By the way, you can star accounts via the Accounts section in Ledger Live, stars are on the right side of the desktop app, next to the Profit & Loss data.

@@Ledger my bad my bad... i didn't use the mouse to scroll down to the starred account section on the left hand side... it just show till "my ledger" and there was a blank section before it goes deeper down.. so my PC only show the screen till the "my ledger" .. LOL my bad!!! thanks for your help.

Hey Jordan - it's not currently possible to send tx to multiple receivers in Ledger Live, depending on the asset, this might be doable with your Ledger device and third-party software (Electrum comes to mind). Do you have any particular asset in mind?

@@Ledger I have four ledgers...when I sent bitcoin from an exchange to one of my wallets..it sent it to two addresses instead of my single ledger address. And in ledger it says “why two addresses” I read that section and still don’t understand why half of the time ledger automatically generated a secondary address for when I received bitcoin
Hi! Change address is completely normal due to BTC UTXO model - each time you receive funds your address will change. This is what contributes to Bitcoin being a pseudonymous network. Also, it's totally safe to reuse addresses, it will just lessen your privacy in the network. More info here 👇🏻

After 2 years in crypto, I am not denying the infinite possibilities and its future application, but I must emphasize that if you have some anxiety tendencies, you should know that you might end up developping paranoia xD
