this is truer than you might think! a lot of cosplayers use techniques similar to or the same as drag techniques for certain characters’ make up transformational garments. costume designers in theaters do this too

I'm absolutely loving your channel! I'm a drag queen with twenty-five years under my sequined belt, but I'm always eager to learn more while sharing my own tips and tricks. My apologies if this has already been covered elsewhere either in the comments or another video, but I do have an additional suggestion to accomplish a thicker wig: Stack either a duplicate of the same wig (or even one in another colour) atop the other. Use a crochet needle to pull sections of the lower wig through the netting of the upper. I'm seeing a lot of cosplay and drag artists using zip ties to secure two wigs together, but this method pretty much gets the job done as is. Additionally depending on the construction of the wigs, you may choose to use a seam ripper or simple scissors to open up some of the upper wig's netting, but this really is perhaps the easiest way to accomplish a thicker effect, especially if the ability to sew has evaded you (as is the case with me - ha!).
Finally someone saying it: The product edited NOT hold up your styling. Teasing and heat does!! 😁 I'm writing my wigipedia for years now (too much to do) and this will be the core (pun intended) of this bible. 🤣
Definitely - glue is just to help the hold! This is a big core of that portion of my book as well. :D

I really enjoy learning from all of your wig tutorials! I would love to see how you guys take care of your wigs and clean/store them! It is always difficult to figure out how to store a specially stylized wig. Love your work!
I'm so sad I didn't get to film a tour of our craft room and wig storage before we started moving, but I'm planning on uploading a lot of videos as we build the new storage space!

Question, how do you keep the wigs clean when the wig picks up dirt and sweat?
If your wig gets a bit sweaty, I wouldn't wash a styled with soap and water . Instead try spritzing the inner net area with some alcohol to disinfect it!

@@CowbuttCrunchies HMmmm,... so many, where to start? Maybe a section on using a Ventilating Needle for making wigs? Or a section on working with alternative hair fibers (on a budget)? Like using braiding synthetic hair? Or the Shapeshifter monofiber? The other thing at top of my learning list, attaching hair to bald wig caps for unique looks? (I'm sorry; I just have so many things I am curious with about wig making and really enjoy your teaching methods) . Thank you

Gosh I’m so glad someone had the same thought process as me starting. I don’t get teasing why this never works. Why do people like Got2Be? Am I stupid?? I can’t get this to work!!
The only thing I have struggle understanding that no one seems to explain is how do you know where to attach your foam work on the wig? What do you anchor it to? Do you just glue it on top and call it a day? Do you move apart the hair and glue at the wefts? Do you sew it in at the wefts? I get confused as to how do I do this so I still keep hair to work with to glue onto that shape.

Heat will bond foam to anything.

I have a question! Have you tried using thick polyester batting as structure before? I've seen some wig makers like soy bin use it, but I can't find any information on how to shape it. Kinaptsu cosplay just used it for her seraphine wig too i think. If you haven't used it before would you consider trying it out?Thank you!!!!
Batting's a good filler to use when you need to fluff out a shape, but don't want it to look too stiff, or if you're just using Got2B and hairspray! Big Rapunzel braids would look good with batting too! However I usually avoid it if I'm creating a very stiff shape and soaking the hair in glue, since ideally you want your understructure to be as stiff as possible.

OMG YES no wonder that pink top looked so familiar. She’s the girl on tik tok that’s making the princess bubblegum iconography. Her name on TikTok is that same as her RUclips name minus the cosplay part. Dude her work is legit insane not just is she talented at wig styling but also fashion and drawing. Thanks for the comment, but if you somehow didn't learn anything by 14 minutes in, maybe you should consider that a "you" problem? Do you also join music classes where they hand you a new instrument and tell you to play? Be patient and open to learning the basics before going hands-on, and you're sure to learn a lot more.

I'm an award-winning costume designer and I've made wigs out of foam, pool noodles, yoga mats, etc.. and was just looking for some how-to tips for more conventional hair wigs. My own how-to videos have had over a million views. The only "me problem" here was wasting my time on your channel and receiving a rude reply, but that's easily remedied.
