- Aventurine is the upcoming 5 star character in Honkai Star Rail version 2.1. We'll be taking a look at his full kit on the Creator Experience Server and a damage comparison between his Free to Play light cone option and his signature light cone, Inherently Unjust Destiny.
There's also my initial impressions of his kit and a showcase of a follow up attack focused team. I showcase him with Topaz, Dr Ratio, and Ruan Mei.

I love that they have made his kit so thematically fitting by making every single element RNG in some way. At first I thought it was a bit weird that he didn't have a cleanse in his kit, but now knowing about his effect res boosting passive it makes sense - instead of a guaranteed cleanse, he lets his team take an RNG 50/50 to not get debuffed in the first place. He basically plays cc russian roulette with the lives of his team. The ultimate "RNJesus take the wheel" character and I love it!!

@tf2spyco157i cant say fu xuan is better. Altought they have same path, preservation, but their kit is different. Fu xuan with shared damage, Aventurine with shield. And it depends on what you need in your team too.
For example, in Acheron team its better to use Aventurine because his ultimate can do debuff. If you have his signature LC, his FUA can do debuff too. In SU, you can pick some preservation blessing which Fu Xuan cant get much benefit from preservation blessing.

I genuinely love the effort put into making the IWTL watermark not just be over the top of everything, but also not only on the top of the gameplay footage. Some post-production effects exist underneath, when they're less important, and others over the top, to make them pop.

Aventurine and March 7th (also maybe with Clara and Topaz) would be insane in SimU Preservation x Elation path.. nonstop FuA 😭
Ratio might be better than Clara since Aventurine and March are preservation
clara doesn't need to take damage to do her follow up. (atleast i think)

I have tried elation path with dr. Ratio and topaz, they can do hundred thousand damage each FUA. And you can pick preservation blessing too with Aventurine.
I feel like this is an instance where large percentages of 45% increase on his LC are misleading. It looks like a lot, yes his damage is non-negligible, but his damage contribution is still waaay smaller than a DPS's. If a DPS is doing 100k per hit and you bump it by 20%, they're doing 20k more per hit, which is already 100% more than the 18k Aventurine was outputting per FUA in the vid. His lightcone is far from necessary, just a for-fun flavor thing.
Sure, but I imagine the real draw for many people is the fact it adds a debuff to his follow up attack, which in turn fuels Acheron.
The ability to math that out is well beyond my means, but with Acheron in the game any LC that adds a debuff suddenly creeps in value pretty hard, the fact it's also a sizable buff to the character it's slapped on is a nice bonus but honestly not even the main attraction for me.
its no guarantee that aventurine can proc his fua once per turn. Could be 2, could be 3. if its at 3, its already 18k x 3 = 54l, which is higher than your 20k main dps, damage increase. And lets be real, if "necessary" simply means, being able to clear moc, no LC is ever necessary, not even acheron.
@@Nagasshyup, the crazy thing about his LC is the debuff that gives a crazy value if you are playing him with Acheron, in all other cases its good but not a must

@@Amir-ry7pp that would mean you're probably in an AoE fight for him to get hit that many times to stack Blind Debt to 14-21 stacks, so let's triple the DPS number to 300k for hitting 3 targets and a 20% increase is 60k, the DPS LC is still more impactful.

I think he can solo SU with Preservation × Elation because his damage is just so good for a sustainer
@@m7k- Preservation has been always been OP in SU/SD. The only reason why I was able to easily beat SimU worlds at early game is thanks to getting Gepard in beginner's banner 😂 he's ridiculous with Preservation path
Lmao just Kafka alone with nihility path clears any and all of SU. Literally never use a sustainer with that. And with Acheron? I can speed run SU in 15 mins max.

Saved for him because I see the FUA team vision. I can see why some people would have issue with the cone but personally as a light spender, the wider gap of cone diff appeals to me more 🙏
I always think that HSR has more potential for power creep than Genshin (not saying that it already is) just based on characters mechanics. How they can build Crit and Crit DMG into their kit. Yanqing can buff his own Crit while a lot of supports can buff others Crit. It’s very surprising to me as a Genshin player b/c buff like this is considered insane/broken in Genshin. And in Genshin I’m usually satisfied with C0 character with their best 4 star weapon while in HSR I always felt the need to pull for their signature lightcone, b/c other options are just far too inferior. E0S1 is a lot more common than C0R1 in Genshin. But again I’ve never played a turn based game before this so don’t take my word for it.
Compare to HI3, this is nothing
HSR can manipulate the environment to strongly favor a new character a lot more easily than Genshin. Turn based games don’t involve quick reaction and team comp execution so there really is no skill issue, just a test of your character strength.

We are a 1 week away from Aventurine? woah time pass fast, I think after the 2.1 main quest Adventurine is by far one of the most deep characters and by far one that I enjoy a lot, great video as always love ya

Thanks for keeping it 100. Comparable to or a slight upgrade to Gepard is pretty accurate. For very new players he's probably a worthwhile pickup, but with 2 strong sustains on an account he's a luxury at best.

This is kinda what i've been waiting for to decide whether or not to pull his sig, if it was possible to reach 4k defense with Destiny's Threads then i think i would be fine skipping it, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I also really want to run him with my Acheron, so that's another reason.
I was on the fence, but.. I love Topaz and he seems like a great fit for her.

I dont have topaz, my main dps are Acheron and Blade. Have Welt and Gallagher for sustains. Been working on Argenti for a while now too, semi built. I am struggling to decide whether to pull or not for Aventurine. Or should I save up for upcoming new characters(loved Jade's design)?

I don't think they would really go HI3 way and make premium equimpent mandatory, somebody already pointed in the comments that Aventurine is not a DPS and 45% dmg increase for him is nothing. But if they really do something like that in the future, that would be very bad because HI3, while having significant difference between signature weapons and stigma and free options doesnt have 50/50 scam.
Been waiting for that man for to long. The 2.1 Story also convinced me to skip Acheron for him, even though I'm at 79 pity with guarantee since Acheron's release and I don't even open the wishing screen because of it anymore. Kakavesha, welcome home.
I don't think his LC boosting his damage that much is as big an issue since the majority of his value is the shielding and debuffing. It's nice but definitely not necessary. You're probably better off saving for a DPS LC or one of the busted harmony ones unless you really like him.

If you don't have FX or Huohuo, you definitely need a premium sustainer so he is really valuable for your account.

Do CC server builds not have all the lightcones available to them? I've been looking at these CC videos but none have compared his signature LC with Moment of Victory. Higher base DEF with higher DEF% bonus (48>40) with a minimal uptime requirement, don't they think it is worth a shot to compare them?
I'm okay with e1/s1 having a significant impact on damage, especially on a sustain/sub-dps character, it actually mostly just annoys me that it's his light cone instead of his eidolon 1. If I have extra pulls, I'm happy to put them towards e1 because it's on the character banner and still gets me closer to *a* character, even if i dont get a 5 star this patch. whereas it feels really frustrating to put 10 or 20 pulls towards the light cone banner because they're essentially wasted until the next time a character comes out who i am able to get, AND whose s1 i want

Something worth mentioning is that even tho his SLC might seems insane cuz of the 45% increase in dmg, that dmg is ~30k from ~20k which honestly it's not that big of a deal; if this was the case for a dmg dealer sure, but for him, it's that 45% increase doesn't mean that much.

I really liked his personality and character, but sadly, having gepard, fu xuan e1 and huo huo i really don’t need a preservativon unity, sadly. May save for a future dps (already have kafka with black swan and acheron with silver wolf, so i already have the best teams but they are both electro centered, need some new different elements)
If you’re able to, can you give Hoyo some feedback on the trailblazers new path? It’s OK, but it feels four star-ish. I at least would like it to have an effect that’s counted as a follow up where another character gets to basic attack since they have a buff called back up dancer.

i feel like outside of FUA teams, you will need to skill so often with him since youre not getting your 7 stacks as fast, which kinda makes me reconsider if im getting him
I hope to get him one day but as of now I think I should wait for some more dps since I have many support options myself. He’s one of my favorite characters and I didn’t even like him that much when we first meet him. Also his whole character kit is really funny to me. Very thematic and I could see myself getting annoyed but does anyone find his FUA sfx so funny? They sound like looney tune bonks LOL

I was waiting for a nearly whole year for a shielder for Yanqing (I don't have Gepard, I took e1 Yanqing from selector because I knew eventually there would be a shielder better than Gepard)

I took a 5 months hiatus and came back in December, hopefully I can get a Bronya before the 300 on the standard and then pick Welt E1, YQ E2 or perhaps Himeko.

in summary S1 is a nice bonus, but unless you play him with acheron it´s not that worth it since the debuff is the main thing. the bonus damage is great, don´t take me wrong, but you´d be better off pulling for a dps lc instead of his. E1 is better for sustain and adds a little damage to the team, I recommend 100%. we will see what IWTL thinks in a few days.

I don't think his Signature is Nesscary. It's nice to have if your more about DPS Aventurine at E0 or at E4/E6 but if you care about the Debuff it Applies then Trend is a good Alternative.

@@pokemonairi you dont need enemies to hit aventurine, you need enemies to hit anyone in your party with the shield so he charges up fua stacks
@@pokemonairi I would argue that if you're not going for his signature LC, then he's the perfect person to use "Trend of the Universal Market" LC on if you have it. It increases DEF for him, increases the chance of him being attached as you want, can apply a debuff to mobs when they attach him (useful if in a team with Dr Ratio or Acheron). The debuff/dot is also based on his DEF, meaning you're got a 1600 fire debuff for 2 turns when it's applied if you hit the 4k DEF goal.
@@yurihuffles The Base Def on Trend is quite low, and the cone doesn't have increased aggro pull on it. Still an amazing pick for an Acheron sustain though, especially if you're able to get to e2.

The 45% damage isn't an issue here.
45% increase of low damage is still low damage.
He's there to sustain. The damage is just a nice extra. 45% damage increase on a carry would be something else entirely.

Would you guys say it's worth to pull for an E0S1 Aventurine to use him in an Acheron Team (lets say E2S1 Acheron with Sparkle and Pela) to replace an E6S5 Gallagher and to use him in a follow up team with Himeko and Herta?
A friend and me are currently discussing if it is worth to pull him just for those two reasons or to skip him and go for Robin. We also saw those questions on reddit but noone had an answer
I have a question herta follow attack is base on if the enemies is half health, so 4 enemies 50% health would that count as 4 stacks, cause each spin is a follow up attack?
I think trends of the universal market is still better for Acheron than his LC. It can proc as many times as an enemy hits aventurine, whereas his lc requires aventurine to do a FUA to apply a debuff. The extra damage is nice, and def for sustaining, but if you're using acheron, she's gonna be frontloading so much damage, aventurine's damage is pretty insignificant. I still believe Fire Trailblazer is a superior "sustain" for acheron, but ofc, aventurine will actually keep your party alive in longer fights.
if you commit for a lightcone it should be always a great upgrade, it becomes a problem when the character doesn't work without
I think "45% increase in damage" is quite misleading. He's not a dps, going from 18k to 27k is barely anything. It's not the same as say for example saying Acheron got a 10% increase in damage. That 10% is multiple times higher that Aventurine's 45%.
Good thing his sig LC does exactly that too then, with the 10% dmg vulnerability debuff on FuA.

you also need to consider, that the build is terrible, mine has almost double the stats, he was only using a debuffer, not a buffer like ruan mei, and he didn't even use the 10% damage increase of his light cone if you notice it on the boss's bar. This is NOT the final product, and you are considering it as if it were...
The lightcone not only buffs his damage but also applies a debuff that increases all damage taken.
With many of the recent support lightcones they make sure they don't just benefit the character but also the entire team.
He is one of that 3 stars blessing of persevation path on SU 😅
So I'm fine with the way they do Limited 5 star LC's. The are incredabily bespoked which make them great for whale and low spender fo the unit they want itn invest into. As an F2P it's 100% NOT worth it because you want more universal LC's like the 4 star an Herta shop ones or you miss out on getting units to spend on the LC banner with your pulls.
The only really universal limited 5 star LC's is Jing Yuan's and it more like Herta shop LC. And Kafka's works on a lot of DoT units , while topaz's sort of work on some Hunt units with follow up.

Heyo! Quick clarification, since Jing Yuan's Thunderlord counts as a follow-up attack per hit. I would assume it will proc Aventurine's counter per hit too right?
probably not, cuz LL advances numby only by 50%
It says when an ally launches an atk, so no. Numby also hits like 6-7 times, all hits are FuA dmg, but only give one stack.

I’m excited for him because he’s one of ten Stonehearts in the IPC which I’ll be collecting them all. Topaz, Aventurine, Diamond, Jade, and Opal so far.
As for the LC, I don’t care too much because he’s supposed to be a shielder with some ability to dish out damage as an extra. And FUAs are like extra damage when conditions are met. If a f2p player is playing this game “optimally” and expect to dish out the same amount of damage as someone who spends a bit of money … I don’t think that’s fair and frankly I’d suggest a change in mindset.
So whatever damage one gets from Aventurine are simply bonuses unless that player decides to invest in him, then he does more damage. Which is fair. Even if it’s ~45% because it’s like a return on investment. And even then we are just talking E0 S1. Which is achievable for f2p IF that player decides to invest in Aventurine.
