i really thought Natlan was gonna be a war ravaged nation, smoke filled skies, lava pools everywhere, and overall not much sun. i really wasn’t expecting this

@@Fireraze1 As the other guy said, this is probably only a sneak peek of part of Natlan. Remember when Fontaine sneak peak back in 3.7 special program was released, we were all so mesmerized by the underwater exploration, Hoyo didn't really show yet how dark the story was going to be

The volcanoes mountain probably will be their grand signature area with bizzare and menacing aura before you finished the world quest like Tsurumi Island with its electro oceanid and sumeru desert masoleum king deshret. Just trust hoyo environmental dev team, they are so far never dissapoint us 😆

I'm still positive for the environment dev team that it will be filled with something when celestia out. @@adrianmikulski6845 literally thought of this the other day as well! A lot of MMORPG games I've played allowed to hide the UI, albeit they didn't have a photo mode like in Genshin, but it doesn't allow you to walk freely

There's a NPC sailor in Fontaine, i don't remember his name but i remember how he talks about his lover or something, and she's from one of the tribes in Natlan. He mentions that each tribe in Natlan has their own rules and customs.

Natlan is so much more amazing than I imagined. I was thinking some more dull jungle and volcanic wastlands here and there, but the raised plateaus and streams look so beautiful. Can't believe I almost took a break prior to Fontaine back then because I thought it was just gonna be similar to Mondstadt terrain. Natlan might be the most unique region we've seen so far
what do you think about Fontaine nowadays?
@@miyukawasaki2398 Fontaine is so therapeutic that I sometimes just sit underwater to enjoy the music and scenery. Fontaine is video game water stage done right.

Same here this looks way more enjoyable and more creatively put than I was imagining. I was also hesitant about Fontaine since it was described as “steampunk” and a dark industrialized city isn’t what I looked for in Genshin but then the actual aesthetic of Fontaine is one of my faves, they managed to create and balance a fairy tale whimsy while also a technological revolution, just again creative stuff! I feel it would be very limiting to just have areas to be more darker and harder in content so engaging stuff like this is so welcomed I’m actually looking forward to Natlan now
@@gna104191 you and I have very different opinions haha, I hateeeeee the underwater stuff in Fontaine and I'm actively avoiding it because I hate the swim mechanic and the combat mechanic. It would feel better to me if we could use our characters actual attacks under water and not search for some fish to be able to attack monsters T__T

Okay, I think I can see what happened here it's look like a Pareidoliae effect ( perception to impose a meaningful interpretation on a nebulous stimulus, usually visual, so that one detects an object, pattern, or meaning where there is none). It has a slightly similar pose to an NPC, but if you look closer, you can see that it is something else, maybe just shadows, because if it were a person, then this person has one arm the size of half of his leg, the second arm does not exist, a super long neck or head, a very small head, also something is not clear with the body and legs, which makes it look like a spider or something like that. After watching the trailer, I came to the conclusion that this is just a pitch black hook's head.

I don't see this thing clips through the wall, this thing basically didn't move at all. And as I said, it still doesn't look like an NPC, take a closer look at this thing from all the angles that are in this fragment.

@@TotallyNotGachaAddict If this is a person, then explain why this thing looks so minimally like a person, why does he have such a long right arm, why does his second arm look like two small triangles, why does his torso and legs look like they were drawn by a child, a rectangular torso to which two thin legs are attached to the left and right? As I said, I don't see any person here, but in one of the angles you can see that it has the shape of a hook's head, and if you look at where it is attached, that is, next to the nets and a thing similar to the sail of a fishing ship, it makes sense that there will be a hook.
I’m gonna presume the 6 symbols are the six saurian we can control. However I think only 3 will be available at 5.0. Later down the line we get the other three.

@@gunzkiller101 I don't think it will be. Probably 5.1 we get 1-2 more then 5.2 the 6th Saurian. But we'll see.
Flying sounds kinda busted exploration wise unless it's only on fixed paths or added near the end of the Natlan patches.
@@pandax5359 I presume it might be slow flying with slow Turing speed. so the grappling green one might be better for quick ascension and the other is better moving long air distance. Yeah probably some restriction in Some way.
I can understand why some people didn't like it. You expect blood, ashes and lava from Nation of war, pyro region, but.. 1 - it's just expectations. 2 - we haven't seen other parts of Natlan yet. 3 - Genshin's story can be dark and serious even with cute and bright look.
Personaly I liked it, maybe because I was the one who expected "just ashes and lava" 😅

The red dragon at the end looks similar to the top left symbol from the circle at the beginning, so it's probably also a type of Saurian that we can travel with!

I assume the three they should us will be released for the players in 5.0 and the remaining once will slowly become available in later versions like 5.1-3.
I like the fact that saurians are dinosaur like, cause the asteroid that's theorized to cause dinosaur extinction fell in what's now Mexico, which is one of the nations Natlan is based of
Also, Im pretty sure that the "tepetl" in tepetlisauri is form the word tepetl in Nahuatl (an indigenous language in Mexico) that means mountain or hill, so maybe all the other saurians have names with a nahuatl word corresponding to their element

just speculating but what if that big flying red dragon works somewhat like how antoine roger aircraft in fontaine do, we can board them from certain places and then they help us reach certain destinations
yea, with that flying thing around the green saurian would be useless so that might be the case
@@orangygbernafas2968 The green thing will clearly have puzzles where it eats those fruit and spits them out like we see in the video. It's also probably much faster than a flying creature when it jumps, it was moving very fast.
I'm more hyped for a Natlan NPC instead of a playable character.
It's been 4 years and we haven't seen even one!
Natlan is so mysterious, almost no info about that region until recent time and even now not even NPC has been seen, its pretty exciting
Yeah its pretty exciting! More now that in the newest event the guy we help to befriend some monsters said "The people from Natlan never wants to go away from their nation" so interesting!
Here's some thing that I noticed. All of the saurians that we see contain some traces of pyro.
When the geo one dives in the ground, it splashes some pyro into the ground it swims through, texturing the ground into an orangey and molten color.
The hydro one has some bits orangey color in the crevices of it's blue skin too, and can even dive in lava, not just water.
The green one, probably dendro, related to our terrorshroom friend has some orangey color to their overall design: the inside of it's mouth, it's long rope-like ability, and the round thing that it grabbed. Maybe that orange thing sealed inside that blue round stone is infused with pyro, and provides the saurian with energy to jump in the air.
Lastly, that flying thing we saw at the end, it looks like it will be one of the 6 saurians too, like the three we were just shown. Maybe that'll be anemo, since anemo loved to swirl and absorb the element it's infused with and retain their color. Making it look red-orange instead of the typical color coded design an element is designated to.
Basically, we will have all the elements as saurian companions in natlan, only except for pyro. Since pyro is present within all of them, and is the main theme for the region of pyro. Fitting because we'll have 6 pyro infused saurians in the 6th region so far. Unless we get it as a special saurian after the story? Could it be that we get it from the pyro sovereign or xbalanque, and receive a pure pyro saurian companion?(maybe we might even have the pyro sovereign as our companion!)

Although I can’t image how the other 2 will work, but especially the one who would be Cryo; thematically of course.
The other two animals (via the glyphs) look most similar to a bat (top right) & a rabbit (bottom center). However I assume they will be loosely based on those animals, & not explicitly those animals; just like the ones we do see are.
Oh, & after looking closely at the Wyvern-looking creature we do see at the end; I believe the top left glyph resembles it the most. (I mean, look at the Dendro Saurian & how its glyph takes a lot of creative abstraction from its design.
Keep cooking, this actually sounds very plausible and possible.

I think the way the Saurian will work is that we will walk up to them, press T or F or something and we will possess them in a certain radius around where they spawn. Sorush combined with Fontemer Aberrants, if you will.
Kinda reminds me of Fischl's burst. Maybe we'll be with the Saurians like how Fischl is with Oz using Midnight Phantasmagoria.

First part of the map probably just showing the vibrant and welcoming part of the Natlan, since every major version the traveller will travel to the cities first. Hoping the map of Natlan can be as big and expansive as Sumeru, and having multiple levels of landscapes as Fontaine (maybe a dangerous and dark volvanic underground area too)?
It is said that Natlan in 5.0 will be as big as sumeru in 3.1 we can really expect 6 biomes and also wastelands

1:14 it is mentioned by the new saurian event npc that the tribes dress in accordance to their souvereins of their region! so it might as well represent bothe the souvereins and the tribes :) interestingly we’re missing in an element, no 7th souverein, wonder why? maybe because xbalanque is actually the pyro souvereign and there is no souverein because of that?

I believe in you! I did the same thing before Fontaine, but explorations going to be a lot easier with how they updated the treasure compass.

It's looking like natlan is taking inspiration from monster hunter stories with how the bonds and utility between the saurians and humans works
There’s actually a purple hot air balloon in the background of the final shot, you can just see it under the Dendro Saurian when the camera is facing its side.
We are SO CLOSE to seeing whether Mare Jivari is really that dangerous (mentioned in Venti’s story quest along with other NPC’s)

i keep seeing people say natlan is more vibrant than they thought but we have actually had a few teasers already of what natlan looks like in the past. not only that but this region could very well be a chunk that isn't affected by the constant war.

I have faith natlan will be amazing. A teaser can only reveal so much....when fontaine was revealed we had no idea it was gonna be such an amazing area as it was. places like petrichor, the faded castle, central lab ruins, the picturesque cottage in the narcizzenkreuz quest, weeping willow of the lake...no one knew all that was explorable. Give them time to beautifully craft this new region and we will all be loving it in about 3 months

Mr Cat, there's an on going event right now in game that an NPC which is the host of the EVENT talks about Natlan and its people, why people don't go to other nations, About The Tribe of Echoes which is one of the tribes of Natlan and the Saurians. The Event name is "Specially-Shaped Saurian Search" where you kille pyro regisvine, geovishap, the dendro ostrich in Sumeru and the Sea Horse Electro type in Fontaine.
The water part we see in this trailer could be Northwest from the ocean we see north from gavireh lajavar

I was kind of expecting Natlan to look like a wasteland hellscape and I'd have been content with it, but it looks GORGEOUS! I cannot wait to explore it!
Exploring is one of my favourite activities in Genshin (My whole map is like 100% maxed) and I had so much fun with Fontaine, I'm hyped to see what the Natlan environment has in store!
The trailer actually shows 4 Saurians. Geo, Hydro, Pyro, Dendro. That would match up (sort of) with the Saurian Search event.
Now I see grafiti almost at every frame, cool! Thank you! And the idea about the skull call for some tragic stories, as in all last regions.

Considering we didn't get many hints or teasers of Natlan until *very* recently, We're about to have a field day. Since we know almost next to nothing about the nature of it's locale and culture. (Unlike how we did with Fontaine and we currently do now with Snezhnaya)
To be honest as a Mexican Im so happy bc Natlan is mostly inspired in Mexico Im so happy this is diverse just like Mexico as in fact it is a megadiverse country I think it is like in 6th place or smth lolz :D and I liver in the capital I can confirm there are los of grafitti of all kinds even tho the last part looks more like Grand Canyon than Mexico

There are rumors that Natlan will incorporate some sort of "vertical landscape design" with "several layers", such that while it will not be something we see in Sumeru (since its layered structure is not well-received by quite a lot of players), it will take on another path similar to that but different. So my guess is that it will have at least 3 layers of map in Natlan: One on the ground that we see at the end of the teaser, one underground where most of the lava and volcano stuff will be located, and one above the ground (probably floating in the sky) where we see the water(?) Saurian swimming with all the floating structures.
Probably those saurians will be the mounts of Natlan. Just thinking of riding them to travel makes me so excited ❤
If i were to guess based on how the areas look like, natlan will span an area west of the desert up until as far north as fontaine or as far south as the northern most region of inazuma. Some of the areas seem to be a bit more temperate. Hence why i anticipate a decent north to south location
I think the Lava with unique coloring is the primal fire that the Xbalanque is the one entombed with. Maybe a descender of the dragon race, maybe a prince like Scylla (he's likely not the pyro dragon)
I thought Natlan is gonna be something like the dynasty warrior gen but no it was actually Mon Hunt :v

Of the 6 icons at the start we are shown 4 with 3 of them showcasing their mechanics
The last one is the flying red dinosaur like which takes the north west icon that looks like a phoenix being red indicate it being pyro of course flying is an anemo thing while we see geo go underground dendro jumping like spiderman the mantaray swims in both water and lava
I think there's been a lore text somewhere saying that natlan is directly west from sumeru desert too
Also I noticed there were massive bones laying around on the land, I saw it on the dendro saurian part
The music reminds me of Trials of Mana or original Seiken Densetsu 3. Especially the ost name "Few Paths Forbidden" and "Powell" from remake Trials of Mana.
I imagine the six icons also correlate with the type of saurian ride mounts we'll be able to use in Natlan! I'm curious if we can only use each suarian mount in their respective sub-regions, or if we'll be able to unlock and use all suarians all over natlan, as opposed to them being like the fontemer aborrants, which can only be used in fontaine's underwater areas, and only applicable in certain areas (besides the one that can be used above the water through a mechanism).
Also I hope to the gods of teyvat that Natlan npcs have some variations in skin tones, cause Sumeru was rough 😭
In the large pan out with the green dragon & that one flying you can very faintly make out the shape of a shrine of depths like bottom/centre of the shot, for those that doubt this is genshin 😅
Looking a the diving region it looks like some kind of story quest area.
Also small theory, the lava in the trailer looks like it's mixed with some kind of elemental power, or some kind of elemental power is coming from somewhere under the lava. Looking at the dragon what if it lives here?

The natlan music is so cool its like a primal exotic jungle dub step and it makes me want to bounce and be jiggly
I liked the landscape! I'm honestly so curious about what's gonna happen since we have so little info about Natlan. Also, maybe Hoyo could get a little more creative for characters' skin tones since Natlan is colorful and diverse. I wonder if they actually have the balls to do it (they don't. it's just a dream of mine)

While there are 6 tribes and it's very possible that the Saurian types line up with them, the 6 icons at the start are very clearly not tribe logos. They are Saurian logos. That's why it shows us specifically 3 of them and then shows the 3 corresponding Saurians. They even highlight an icon specifically showing a drill Saurian symbol before zooming in and transitioning to the drill Saurian.
1:00 Types of Saurians seem much more likely to me, cause the three that lit up align perfectly with the three Saurian species they showcased both in terms of element and symbolic appearance, and the flying dragon thing at the end could be one of the three symbols that are left out.
Wouldn't be surprised if each tribe had one Saurian species that they are especially close with though.
Maybe I misremember but I was under the impression that out of the six tribes only one like didnt survive. From the talking stick but I think I need to reread. I do still think that indeed each saurian represents each tribe there is a lot of emphasis about the factions from what weve gotten so far so I dont think its a coincidence. The 3 remaining saurians seem to be the flying one, a horned one, and a ???.
Overall everything seems super MH like to me, and Im super excited
Guarentee that the tribe that died out had darker skin as an excuse to not make any dark skinned characters.

First it was "Wait for Sumeru" and now it's "Wait for Natlan". After we get no one dark skinned and an archon lighter than Nahida it'll be "Wait for Genshin Star rail".
@@rb8258 i wouldn’t be surprised if hoyo did something like that considering their colorism isnt that subtle, but isnt iansan proof that we’ll have at least a couple darker skinned characters?
@@star.lilies True, I forgot about the trailer. But so far all colored characters have been shit (Dehya, candace, xinyan) or mid (Cyno). So my hopes aren't that high for her
I think those saurians are mounts, as mentioned in some rumors about Natlan. They just made the player character invisible to not spoil the whole thing.
Natlan is located to the west as the biggest region coming, having a large surface and underground area, source, alpha

The saurians really do look similar to the new event bosses the npc trying to befriend lol, the primo geovishap and the jadeplume terrorshroom and the swimming one looks like the enkamoniya boss. so perhaps the other three would resemble the pyro regensvine and purple seahorse.

Reminds me of "Land Before Time". Seriously as many ppl are commenting... Not what I had pictured. Based on description from npc's I imagined dark smokey, lava every where, maybe even a searing heat buffer like Dragon Spine has the chill buffer...I just imagined fire and brimstone i guess lol.

i'm actually so excited for natlan, they have taken literally the exact opposite of what i imagined it to look like and i'm so happy. i wanted to be shocked and i am. natlan is so going to become one of my favourite regions.
It could be thay the Lava is something alike to the primordial sea water? It had a purple glow to it and wasn't similar looking to normal water
La información que nos dan en el garrote del diálogo nos daba referencias a que las inspiraciones culturas para Natlan serían muchas más de las que tuvimos con Sumeru y por ende está región sería la más grande tanto en el tamaño del mapa, como en el arco narrativo y las referencias que veremos.
I can already tell Natlan will be my favourite nation, Can't wait for it to release!
