I was thinking the exact same thing!! I am sitting here thinking that I remember when a Lambo would cost $100K and how outrageous everyone thought that was, and it really wasn't that long ago. Now people pay $50K-$150K for a car of truck and dont seem to think that something is wrong. Crazy!
I am 61 and have purchased 4 vehicles in my lifetime. Starting with a '69 Bronco when I graduated high school in 1981, a 1974 High boy, a 1997 F350 4x4 and 2003 Town car. I still own all 4 and drive them on a regular basis and they have served me well. Instead of buying anything new, I will stick with what I have.
I have a 1978 F250 , 4x4 super cab . It has a 460 , with a 4 barrel , holley 750 carb. The front axle is a Dana 60, snow fighter. This is rare . It drives great and easy to repair. I bet that it out last the new ones today.
403,000 miles on my '76 Chevy straight six pickup. Just put in new rings, rebuilt the carb, and replaced U-joints. I'll get back to ya'll when I reach 1,000,000.
Yup! 380,000 miles on my 1998 GMC C2500. On the 2nd engine & trans and will keep it running as needed. Don't need all the bells & whistles bs, just a basic truck.
And walk into the local Lithia Jeep dealer here with an issue and they say you'll have an appt.and they are booked for weeks,..... mater not your CJ will barely run.. go figure.🤔
The reliability is far worse with anything from the UK, most of what is German, or engineered by Korea, or from Stellantis. While it is exorbitantly overpriced it is far more reliable than many. Honda, Toyota, & Lexus are still the most reliable & best for the $.
It's as if you need a dedicated RUclips channel to go through what you need for each vehicle to replace junk OEM parts, necessary upgrades, and the realistic maintenance schedule to avoid problems. Then you also get into "well you did this so you voided your warranty" BS.
The fact that people are paying that much for a very normal vehicle. Shows why our country is in a serious mental decline. People's priorities are f'd up! If you have big money, go by a $500,000 Ferrari. What's wrong can't afford it? Neither can I and even if I could I wouldn't.
It's because people think SUVs are somehow status symbols, they aren't, they are a bunch of cheap low grade aluminum put together awfully, also SUVs are very poorly engineered, whoever thought that normal people should drive low visibility, top heavy, hard to drive, rollover prone vehicles was mental
All the new trucks I see on the street look like luxury vehicles and are decked out with high tech inside. I have not seen one new truck that is cheaper than my Tesla.
Agreed. Gotta work to pay the bills. A truck called Platinum is unrealistic, unattainable and makes no sense as a platform for hard working, out of their own work truck, people.
The early 2000s were really good ones, now a days not so. Then again even Toyota & Honda reliability is going downhill with the over complication of vehicles.
I had one of the first gen GMC Canyons. Drove it for well over 300k miles. It was a fantastic truck that gave me very little issues during its life. It was cosmetically totaled after a big rig pulled up too close to me and scraped the whole body side and took off a mirror. Still ran. I can’t fathom how they got away from vehicles like that and into the product they make now. GM already has Cadillac. They don’t need another marquee brand. It’s another case of the emperor has no clothes.
Of course they will get bailouts. And the CEO's who made all the bad decisions will likely get retention bonuses to stay on for their 'expertise'. Privitized profits, socialized losses for all.
Grandma was born over 100 years ago and she always said having a car back in her day was a luxury very few people could have them. I guess we’re back there.
Maybe so but after screwing the customer they will be looking for a tax payer funded government bailout. It’s coming. All the mean while wanting to ban affordable China EV. I’m finding sympathy in this situation hard to come by. Like the average person can never afford these prices yet that same person will have to fund the coming bailout. That’s not right.
They all wanna sell SUVs, SUVs belong in the junkyard anyway, and people are finally realizing that it's impossible for a good SUV to exist, an SUV will always have a downside
@keithw1966 I'm getting old, but I remember when Mercedes Benz was a standard for long lasting highest quality cars and they were always at the cutting edge of technology. Today MB is about as reliable as WV and about the same as BMW. German cars are low quality high price. They all make low quality cars filled with plastic parts that break on a regular. They replace everything with plastic knowing the parts won't last. And the price is outrageous. In fairness the fools trying to keep pace with their status symbols are equally to blame for paying those prices.
After a lifetime of owning GMC trucks and loving them, a 2009 Sierra left me in awe at how many mechanical problems I had in 50000 miles. THIRTY ONE. I'm in a Tundra now. Never again, GM.
I'll keep my 1997 Toyota Tacoma 252,000 miles on it and still running like new. The radiator had to be replaced at 200,000. Had to replace the transmission two years ago and found one that only had 60,000 on it. The oil changes have been done on it religiously as well as the other maintenance. I will also keep my 2004 Toyota X-tra cab Tacoma that has 123,000 miles on it. When I purchased it from my parents friend in 2018 it had just over 120,000 miles on it for $9500. I purchased it because I knew the maintenance history on it and was a backup vechicle for my 97 Tacoma. Thank God I bought it before the used vechicle market exploded ! Just as a side note my father also has a 2004 Toyota X-tra cab Tacoma candy apple red with less than 50,000 miles ... drop dead gorgeous!
It's sad that about ten years ago I told my wife that we were done with American vehicles. My GMC work pickup and her jeep Grand Cherokee spent more time in repair shops than in our driveway. We switched to Japanese.Toyota Rav 4 for her , Toyota Tundra for me. Smartest monetary decision I ever made. We drive em, and with minor maintenance here and there no needed repair shop !!! These vehicles have paid for themselves over and over !

Let them rot. I knew this was happening just before Covid. I bought a 2018 F150 for $29,000 extended cab with a tow hitch capable touring 8000 pounds. Just enough for my small camper also have a 2005 Chevy Silverado work truck only has 60,000 miles and I’m running into the ground. I don’t think I’ll ever buy another truck again not with these prices.
I was at my local Chevy dealer recently for service . I mentioned to the service manager that I liked a truck that was in the bay. he said it's a special order. It had the smaller back doors and a little longer bee. I have a 15 Silverado with the same set up. He told me they are on a waiting list to order one !! A waiting list to spend 60k !! They also told me most trucks come in with recalls and go right into the shop before they hit the lot . My '15 Silverado sure does look good !!

I detest buying new cars. About 4 years ago I decided that I was going to drop out of the new car buying business and drive my current one until the wheels fall off. Funny thing is I still have 2 years left to pay… But at least I’m not upside down. These new car, suv, and truck prices make no sense to me. They’re absurd.
Calling it a clown show is an insult to clowns. I bought a 2003 GMC Sierra 2500 2WD ex-Colorado DPW truck in 2010 with 56k miles for $8700. Almost 15 years later it's still my daily and it has 235k miles.
My wife and I and 5 adult kids will not buy until you can get a truck for 30k. If what we have breaks its cheaper to fix and also more reliable over today's junk.
I’m sad to say, that I have not bought an American vehicle since 2002. That’s when my Grand Cherokee was totaled (thank goodness) and I bought my very first Toyota. After driving that car - with ZERO mechanical issues - NONE for three years - I bought another. Since 2002 I’ve been driving NOTHING but Toyota, Honda, and Mazda - and NEVER going back to the constant Dealer visits…recalls….break downs that I experienced with American made vehicles. I’d LOVE to buy American…but refuse to do so after the consistent reliability of Japanese vehicles.

How in the hell can the car manufacturers warrant these prices, the price of some homes for a dam truck?? Has wages, material costs, building costs ,inventory etc. These prices should be around $30-40,000 at the highest ,not $120000. Reduce the number of models and options, realignment of added costs due to environmental regulations. The auto companies will collapse!!!

Omg, thanks for reminding me why i pay cash for lexus vehicles with about 100k miles and drive them for 5 - 10 years. At 100k miles, i figure there's still a high probability that it will be more reliable, have more life left and my satisfaction will be higher than buying a pile of Euro or American made junk. Workin' great so far 👍
I’ll trust a 200k mile lexus or older Toyota over any brand new crap out there. People who drive garbage American cars don’t realize what its like to own a auto that doesn’t require constant repairs.
I have an '05 Lexus IS300 with 127,000 miles and it is like brand new still. I've put tires, brakes, and replaced the water pump. I also have a 2011 Lexus IS250 with 150,000 miles. I've replaced the tires and the alternator.
you won't be able to do that with post21' Toyota products, they're junk now too, when you can't even buy a reliable Toyota, you know the industry has gone down the tubes.
Which Lexus have you owned? I had an NX200. I didn’t like it. Had about $5000 of work done under extended warranty at about 3-4 years old. I’d like a LC500.
@@unclefester4822 I thought they were 12 in the philippines? I am sure they would mark them up to 40K here in America. I wish Toyota just had Hilux dealerships for their small trucks. I paid 9700$ for my 93 truck , brand new. Still have it.
The import tax on light trucks (Chicken Tax) is 25% It would also create internal competition with the Tacoma line which was specifically designed for American regulations. Toyota therefore is unlikely to bring their light trucks to the American market unless they created a plan to produce them domestically which would cost up to about 4 billion which is too risky of an investment considering most Americans seem adverse to smaller trucks and prefer larger vehicles.
As a kid in late 80’s early 90’s, i remember my mom saying never buy domestic. We only had Toyotas. When i turned 16 i got a Honda. Never had a problem. Decided to get Chevy Avalanche. Love the truck but not reliable. 6k motor rebuild after 149k miles due to AFM technology they supposed to solve base on their old technology. Guess what still the same issue. Stuck lifters and engine failure. 2007-2022. I’m gonna stick on buys older Hondas and Toyotas. The newer cars are designed for planned obsolete.
I used to be a hardcore GM guy back in the day until I rode around in my buddys CRX and realized that they could take shitkicking abuse and just keep running. I’ve only bought Hondas now since the mid 90s and they have never let me down. I don’t like the new ones though because even Honda and Toyota have let their quality control slide to the point of being equal with every other manufacturer. 😢
Honda has their fair share of issues as well. They've been the brand for me with the most issues. VCM ( cylinder deactivation) in their V6 motors causing oil burning, cam issues, their newer turbo engines having issues, CVT's dying early deaths. Oh and they can't build transmissions in house to save their lives. They seem t be turning it around now but man 2000's to the past few years they haven't been great. We've owned several drinking the Honda kool-aid, not anymore after my 2023 Ridgeline was an absolute lemon.
I live at the beach in LA. So many people drive these things and I'm certain most are not work trucks. Also seeing too many ugly Cybertrucks. I paid cash for a beautiful, low mileage, well maintained, used Mercedes coupe. Four years and zero problems. No car payments. Very happy with my decision.

Yep, GM invented planned obsolesces. In the 70's your main rear crank seal was guaranteed to fail at 80,000 miles, also your water pump, fuel pump, starter, alternator, fuel pump, radiator, along with the warranty and much more. They spent fortunes to figure out how to make something fail in a certain amount of wear and tear. They (GM/Ford) only got better at quality when the Japanese started kicking their asses, but they have never caught up and this video proves it. American unions and government interference like the EPA are to blame.
Over the years, I've owned some great vehicles. While raising a family, I drove a 1998 Lincoln Navigator. Perfect for a load of smelly soccer kids. After that, a 2015 RAM Limited. Loved it, but parking was an absolute bear! Then a new Jaguar something-or-other. I bought a diesel to be "sensible". The turbo lag drove me to sell it at a loss. Next I bought a 2017 Maserati Ghibli Q4. A dream ride that I'll never forget. But that Ferrari engine kept me awake at night with worry. Traded that for an Alfa Romeo Guilia ti Sport. Lovely little ride. Now I'm 62 and I crawl out of it and drop to get in. It's parked and my full time ride is a lovely old 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Special Edition. I bought it originally for camping. But it mostly sat unused. I can get into and out of it. Nothing can possibly go wrong on it that my local shop cannot repair. And if it gets wrecked, I'll buy another $5000 old Cherokee. I loved the sweet European rides and the super fancy huge American trucks. But it's time to slow down and relax. I don't need to be driving triple digits in St Louis traffic these days. Retirement looms and my health isn't what it was. Bless anyone who buys these crazy expensive vehicles. Just make sure the payments and depreciation are worth it to you. I'll wave as you pass me on the road!!
I'm keeping my 1995 GMC Vandura until it turns into a rust ball (but we live where there is virtually no rust). 350 with TBI, positraction rear end, easily repaired, and the only real problem it ever had was the crappy heat/cold shrink fit water pumps. Caused overheating, but no major damage, easily repaired with a non-GM replacement. Retrofitted as a camper/slash travel vehicle, has retractable bed, and when the kids were gone, we turned it into cargo vehicle. The only problem now is that the heater control plastic vacuum lines have disintegrated, and it is locked into "defrost mode", which works just fine for us, and the AC still works fine anyway. Bought used for 14,000$usd. Probably only put about 5K$usd repairs into it. Second best purchased vehicle ever. Two of our Toyota cars lasted 330Kmiles and 660Kmiles, both purchased for a total of 5500$usd. Best buys ever.
Having experienced a catastrophic brain injury that compelled you to sign the paperwork for your new $195,000 Hummer EV, I would love to see the depreciation after three years (assuming that its actually capable of lasting that long!). That monstrosity is just so astronomically, exorbitantly priced at $195,000! This isn't Clown Car Territory, this is some economic Orwellian-Kafkaesque Twilight Zone distopian nightmare! $195,000 buys a Helicopter!
So you go out and you pay $100,000 for a pickup truck.. do people do this because it makes them feel like they're rich.. do you realize your first repair bill after its off warranty will probably be 15,000.. think about it.. new rich guy
I just paid $4,400 for an 07 Sport Trac.. one owner, garaged it's lifetime, it's like perfect condition. No rust no frame rust. The only thing I've put in it was a thermostat. That's a win
Before you get serious about any of these modern vehicles beware how much the service department charges because these modern will cause a fortune to fix and an extended warranty cost a fortune. And if you’re thinking of trade it in before the warranty expires don’t forget the dealer will hit over the head with depreciation. 😢😢😢
That is just throwing money away! 195 thousand out the door it should fly? And the warranty will expire before it's paid off! One thing the ev hummer has over the cyber rust dumpster, it's not musk ugly!
100% agree. GMC said goodby to their core customer years ago. They used to be a working truck brand. They did a complete 180 and became a luxury brand instead. GMC has lost it with their pricing and quality. Good video!
They will never sell at those prices. Company will go bankrupt and they will be auctioned off to highest bidder, if they can get bids at all. Expect a company bailout to save jobs, but unions may need to renegotiate if they want to keep their jobs.
I'll pay for a quality truck. Unfortunately GMC and GM Trucks have boatloads of quality problems. If the CAFE standards get rolled back I would be interested in an ICE truck without DFM and somehow get rid of half the computer controlled crap that keeps breaking - including the transmissions. These are basically disposable vehicles that will stuggle to make it to 150K. Currently have 5 vehicles but on the truck side it's the last reliable V6 in a 23 Nightshade Tacoma. If I needed full size it would have had to be a 21 Tundra 1794. The last V8 without AFM or DFM without going up to the 2500 series with the 6.6 liter. What a mess.
I am 102 and have purchased only two modes of transportation in my lifetime. Starting with a horse and buggy back in 1939 and a Geo Metro hatch in 1993. I drive both regularly and maintain them well. My horse and buggy is the most reliable and even provides food when I replace my old horse.
Fact: GMC trucks base model (work truck) is listed @ $38,400 on their website, but when you go to “build & price”, the starting point is $40,000+ ( how did that happen?) Most of the trucks you looked at were higher end models or had extra options added. Back in 2015, my F-150 XLT was priced @ $32,900, with the b2 option package it was $5000 more. With financing I paid $41,000. Same truck is now $49,000
Two weeks ago I bought a 2024 GMC Canyon AT4. The truck was $47,455. With taxes, registration, dealer conveyance, etc it was $52,600. I looked at GMC and Chevy 1/2 ton crew cabs, 4x4, V-8 gas engine trucks and the prices were too expensive for my budget. The Canyon is a well built proven mid size truck and so far I’m happy with it and I plan on keeping it for a good number of years. There are a lot of people in America who can and who are buying these expensive trucks and SUV’s for $65K and up to keep the auto manufacturers happy. I feel like the middle class, blue collar working families are being priced out of the new truck/Suv market but eventually they will have to buy something, new or used. Only in America. 🇺🇸
Chevy Colorado Trailboss is my best value pick of the last couple of years. AT4 is a nicer version of it. $52k is far more than I would want to pay for a pickup but I’m glad you’re pleased with the truck. Thanks for watching mate!
My last truck bought brand new was a 2015 Ford F-150 XLT with a $5000 option package. It cost $38,000. (First year of the aluminum body) Same truck now $52,000
I bought my 2019 tundra 5.7 right before covid new for $33,500. Paid it off in a couple years. I can’t believe what they’re getting for new trucks. I’ll hopefully be keeping mine for a long time.
Purchased a 2017 GMC Sierra High Country Duramax for $61k new. That was high $ to me at the time, but I needed to tow a heavy trailer. Love the truck, hate the def. Now at 118k miles, I’m prepared to put at least half a million on her. I could rebuild the entire truck twice for the price of a new one! We Americans have simply got too many dollars and not enough sense!
The high country is on the Silverado line..high country is equivalent to the gmc Sierra Denali… so I think your 2017 was a high country SILVERADO as there is no such thing as a high country Sierra..

It’s arguably the best looking midsize SUV on the road and comes with Bose speakers, acoustic glass, 27 miles per gallon. And that truck with the AEV bumpers that you think is a clown truck is one of the most desirable trucks in the heavy duty truck market today. Do you think GMC is just randomly building $100,000 trucks that no one wants to buy? Yes, they are very expensive but people love the styling, size and power. Many people would think your little EV blazer is a clown car. These vehicles are built for specific target markets. No doubt a Tesla driver thinks a heavy duty truck is a waste and a heavy duty truck driver thinks a Tesla is a joke. It just depends on the buyer.
That new Hummer is ridiculously overpriced. I was speaking with a guy at the gym today. He has a new Hummer. He's leasing it. He's paying almost $1k per month as a lease payment, he said. Which is still ridiculous. Talk about throwing money away.
Well that guy can probably afford it, no sweat, $1,000 a month is chicken feed for some people. He could be a plumber and just has to change a tap washer every month....Or..his last name, was it musk?? by any chance?
I had no clue. I assumed these rides were in the 25-35 K range. I gave $4,000 for my 1977 F-100. Built a 300 six and 4R70W transmission for it and I'm still under $10,000. Sales tax on $70,000 truck here would be well over $6,000. Insurance? I'll never sell my truck. People ask all the time. Seems to be holding its value just fine. Now you have to add if it drives to the list. The only way most normal people can buy a vehicle like this is with heavy financing for 60 months- never mind if they have a current car loan that is underwater. I priced the Nissan Kicks, fully loaded, AWD, $27,000 without arguing. Who knows how low you can get it. Only close to bargain I have seen, anywhere.
$100,000 used to be the price of an airplane. I'm almost 73 and when I was growing up I bought a new Dodge "MaxiVan" every two years because I was on the road as a musician and needed reliable transportation - they were about $5800 in 1978 and I was making about $24 grand a year. I had a contract laying around here (can't find it, today) and the one I bought in '76 was $5600. Those were extra long cargo vans and I typically bought the things with larger V8's, etc. Now if people are actively in the stock market - which is about 20-percent of people - these new prices are no problem. We have a two-tiered country, now, where you're either insanely rich or doing very, very well and about 65-percent or 70-percent of people can't afford to live. And these vehicles are short term investments which are worth nothing in 10 or 12 years....or sooner. This is not the same country I knew 30 or 40 years ago.
And everything is hunky dory folks ! The economy and Americans are all doing great. $100,000 trucks , $600,000 starter homes, and $25 hamburgers !
There are plenty of cars for less than $30,000 and plenty of hamburgers under $20.00.

Great video...though in fairness, Ford and Ram are no better...
For me, 2000 was when the quality started it's slow decline, and 2020 was when vech's became games of insanity..
Or a new semi truck with a sleeper. Or a slightly used truck and trailer.
195K? That's a hell of a nice down payment on a nice house. Smh
So you go out and you pay $100,000 for a pickup truck.. do people do this because it makes them feel like they're rich.. do you realize your first repair bill after its off warranty will probably be 15,000.. think about it.. new rich guy
Some marketing people started with it and came through
Tax write off
They’d knock at least $10k if have any negotiation skills. It’s not like they are selling. 300 days on the lot will create a lot of rot.
Just walk off 🏃♂️
They're going to have to come down or people will buy something else.
The dealer pays 6% APR for every month the inventory sits unbought on the lot. Don't understand how they stay in business.
Does it burn 🛢 oil ?
What percentage of these trucks value is lost the second you drive it off the lot??? Is wanting better than having???
About 30% to drive around the block. 😂
I love Suburbans and Yukons and use them for moving stuff and people when needs. 4 in 40 years 300 to 400k each with no problems.
This weekend I'm going to a GMC dealership just to laugh at the salesman when they bum rush me lol
Who knows they might cut you a deal. NOT..😅
Errrr.... what exactly is a bum rush??
The sales tax alone in my state on a $90,000 vehicle is $5625! I'd rather spend that $5625 on something older, simpler and more servicable.
I just paid $4,400 for an 07 Sport Trac.. one owner, garaged it's lifetime, it's like perfect condition. No rust no frame rust. The only thing I've put in it was a thermostat. That's a win
Just getting my 2002 Nissan Frontier ready for its next 100,000 miles. Paid off my last financed vehicle in 1983
My 2002 Dodge Ram diesel has 418,000. I bought it new in 2002....for 34,000 dollars.....
My Frontier 02 has 355k. She's semi retired now using it only 2 mornings a week, but always reliable.
I've got an '01 Frontier with the 4 cylinder.... 685,000 miles~ second engine (from a junkyard) and still going strong.
@osut688 nice, keep 'er running!!
It does look better than the Cyber Truck but thats not sayin much. I dont like either.
Its a tax write off if they use the truck 51% of the time for business.
Uglier than a muskrat.!
How do you know how many days on the lot ?
100% agree. GMC said goodby to their core customer years ago. They used to be a working truck brand. They did a complete 180 and became a luxury brand instead. GMC has lost it with their pricing and quality. Good video!
Business operates on greed or fear. Looks like we are still in the greed phase.
GMC is just a shell of its old self
What type of camera are you using?
They will never sell at those prices. Company will go bankrupt and they will be auctioned off to highest bidder, if they can get bids at all.
Expect a company bailout to save jobs, but unions may need to renegotiate if they want to keep their jobs.
I believe that GM is making record profits. I don't understand it either.
We looked at a SUV with a 1.5L turbo engine… how long do you think that engine will last ❓
I'll pay for a quality truck.
I had the same go three cylinder and drove to work 30 Mi and back on a back road and got 55 Mi to the gallon
Bought my 2008 Ford F-150 crew cab for about $26,000 and I still drive it. No Truck payment for the past 11 yrs
And the massive lack of transmission reliability
Fact:
GMC trucks base model (work truck) is listed @ $38,400 on their website, but when you go to “build & price”, the starting point is $40,000+ ( how did that happen?)
Most of the trucks you looked at were higher end models or had extra options added.
That's how Trump got elected. People could not afford the status quo.
Plastic computerized junk. Period.
I drive a1997 ford F-150 short bed and I own a 2013 Audi A7 i just payed off I'll never by a new car ever again I can't afford the car note
My last truck bought brand new was a 2015 Ford F-150 XLT with a $5000 option package.
It cost $38,000. (First year of the aluminum body)
Same truck now $52,000
I think their dumb logic is they rather sell fewer with bigger profit margins: Hey at least you can live in the Hummer
where do you live? I live on 4th and G street. That's where my Hummer broke down 6 months ago. Nice area.
I bought my 2019 tundra 5.7 right before covid new for $33,500. Paid it off in a couple years. I can’t believe what they’re getting for new trucks. I’ll hopefully be keeping mine for a long time.
Remember, it’s government motors beware
I remember when Obama guaranteed the muffler on a GM purchase. No joke. They really are Government Motors.
Yes, and remember cash for clunkers?!😅
Purchased a 2017 GMC Sierra High Country Duramax for $61k new. That was high $ to me at the time, but I needed to tow a heavy trailer. Love the truck, hate the def. Now at 118k miles, I’m prepared to put at least half a million on her. I could rebuild the entire truck twice for the price of a new one! We Americans have simply got too many dollars and not enough sense!
Credit, mostly....
Debt.

The high country is on the Silverado line..high country is equivalent to the gmc Sierra Denali… so I think your 2017 was a high country SILVERADO as there is no such thing as a high country Sierra..
The line I'm responsible for at work builds up the rear boxes for the Hummer EV truck and SUV. I mean if someone wants to pay for it, let her rip, but not me. Actually looking at Subaru for my next car. The dealer by me has a 2024 Crosstrek pretty well equipped too for $28,000. I would prefer to buy something we build, but I refuse to pay these stupid prices. Plus I keep reading Subaru is tops in reliability. Decent price and reliability are what I'm most concerned with. In the meantime I'll keep saving every damn penny I can because I gotta feeling we're gonna be feeling it sooner or later.
Bought a Sub Cross Trech this year there a great car. The last one I owned was 12 years old I put 420 thousand KM on it only replaced tires battery and brakes oh ya and regular oil changes, no rust over the 12 years I owned it and I also just sold it for 5000. bucks. BEST CAR I EVER OWNED. Dont wait buy one today before Dump gets in control.
@dog_guy-c8x brother you just convinced me. Time to schedule a test drive.
@@HonestUAWElectrician Our 2015 Forester has 226,000 and still runs great. Very reliable.
@@HonestUAWElectrician Am glad that you listen to what I had to say I am being 100% truthfull of what I had said. Good luck at getting one of there cars, even Toyota has invested 20% into that car company. Get the bigger engine and stay away from there turbo engines as this is relative new engine I am not saying that there turbo engine is not good but it is new tech, so just get there larger engine no turbo. Hope this helps.
Just don't buy a subi with a CVT if you plan on a long lifespan, that would be an exception to the rule. Manual ONLY. The 2.5 NA has some issues as well
I would like to know of the vehicles they are selling how many are repossessed later. I would like to apply that question to all the top vehicle brands.
Too many are still trying to keep up with the Joneses
No need to keep up with the Joneses if you live by yourself
I’m a big GMC ( we have two). I’m a cash buyer and I was in the market to replace mine with a new one. After looking at the price I decided to keep the old one, as GMC has lost its “value”. 55K is my “value buy point”.
No EV vehicles period...All of these vehicles are ridiculously over priced...They look great but no fing way.
No SUVs period, All of them are ridiculously overpriced, don't look great, and are fragile liabilitys
Bought a new 2016. With work done under dealer extended warranty and additional 3yr service contact lapprox 10k repairs. kept all things up brakes, tires, oil, trans and rear end, cleaned throttle body, etc. Put 20k+yr miles. Most issues occurred under orignal ext warranty. One month out just on additional contract trans went right at 100k. Got a factory part, paid 1700 over service contract. After having 19, 11 company and 8 personal vehicles. keeping up regular maintenence, 20k per yr, 10+ years of use still costs you approx 5k out of pocket...
No thanks - I just counted all the cars I have owned across 3 countries in 30 years of driving. Its 11 cars of which; 2 were totalled when parked (!!) and 2 were stolen and 5 sold on for profit and I still own the last 2 from years 2002 and 2009 purchased at less than 12 months old each. If there is no reason to change such as someone totalling the car or stealing it then I dont need to change...... but no way am I buying some overpriced unreliable piece of junk made from mostly plastic and full of computer parts just waiting to go on the fritz.
If I cant fix it myself on a couple of axle stands and wheel ramps then I dont want it.
I'm still driving my 1996 Chevy 1/2 ton with 1,290,000 kms on it. NEVER HAD THE ENGINE APART. And, I'm going to keep driving it too.
I think they are intentionally pricing vehicles out of our budgets so we won’t have any.
Or just don't buy SUVs... SUVs didn't exist 40 years ago, and people had much larger families back then
@ station wagons my family had two 🤔😜😎
@@sylviawelsh9518 facts, Hatchbacks have gotten so big you might as well call them wagons, looks at the Mazda 3 AWD, Subaru Impreza, Toyota Corolla hatch, etc
I just bought a 2024 GMC Acadia elevation trim and it is fully loaded for $45,000 and we love it.
@jayb7675 Did you miss the parts in the vid where he showed how long some of those vehicles were sitting on the lot?
That new Hummer is ridiculously overpriced. I was speaking with a guy at the gym today. He has a new Hummer. He's leasing it. He's paying almost $1k per month as a lease payment, he said. Which is still ridiculous. Talk about throwing money away.
He's as vain as hell.
And when it comes time to retire he might not have a pot to piss in.
I paid cash and minimal insurance is $600 per year.
Business owners or retirees with large savings are their only customers.
I'm a retiree, been looking for a couple of years now. I am and have been the sole customer at almost all dealerships during the day. Currently own a 2014 Juke NISMO and a 2013 Rouge for the wife unit, and it is one more car than we need. I also have a 1998 MB SLK 230, $2.99 property tax a year lol, a 2003 350Z twin turbo, and a 1970 Lotus Europa S2. I need to sell some cars not buy a new one.
But yes, I have some cash burning a hole in my pocket. Not buying a truck no matter what. If I have to haul something, I will rent a truck. It used to be if it flies, Floats or F^&ks, rent it.
So that's the answer, sell your house to buy the truck. Repos are at a 6% rate right now, a new record. Underwater loans are also in record territory.
