After watching SRK cycles and shawn for a few years now I BOUGHT A CLASSIC GOLDWING AND LOVE IT!!!! Thanks Shawn and remember it’s not what your ridin but where your going
@@brockrohn360 parked inside for winter, but she’s doing great… can’t wait till spring in upstate ny when I can get her out and enjoy some riding.. stay safe 👍
Just bought a goldwing L 1200cc 1985 everything works on it 89000 miles all new sensor for the ignition problems good tires A-1 chrome and paint. 1600$ am 60 years old and have always dreamed of owning a goldwing, my prayers have now been answered.
I have a 1988 Yamaha Venture 1300 (virtual twin to this GW) and I love it! I also have a 2009 R6 that I love more each season. I envy your job getting to ride all these cool bikes, and every bike is cool in its own way. Glad you are out there showing that.
I just bought the same motorcycle for $500… 33k miles on it! But it’s been sitting in the weather in Pennsylvania… I’m told it was running last year and all it needs is a battery… and some cosmetic stuff… it’s weathered, not road hard but definitely put away wet!
I plan on getting a old used Honda Goldwing in the future too. Maybe a 1987 model. Something to go cruising in the country roads and farm roads in the summer and fall.
Sean I am fixing to buy a 1984 Gold Wing GL- 1200 , with 78,000 miles on it. I'm not worried about the mileage, because of it being a Honda Goldwing. I've seen some with close to 200,000 miles on them.
I got a question for you and any other goldwing owners around 86 to 87 I have an 86 after about a minute or two of sitting there idling in neutral it will just randomly die like you would have to kill switch is this a safety thing or is there something wrong with my bike does anybody else's bike do this runs perfect going down the road and another question about these bikes my gear selector only shows gears 123 then it goes blank for 4 and 5 gears is it supposed to show gear 1 through 5
I am looking to buy my first bike and i am planning to take a long trip up the east coast. I know i will have the best time riding in the sofa all the way to Maine but we will be doing a lot back road driving in Maine for a few days with curvy and steep mountain roads. Do you think this bike is fun on the curves and can keep up with the cruisers that i am riding with or you feel like the "fun" factor is missing from this bike in that aspect.
I just recently got a 1986 Honda goldwings 1200cc first bike technically, I had a zx6, i don't plan too really keep it because it's just such a big bike not going too lie a little afriad too ride it just because it's such a big bike.
Because its sooo huge and without any experience you will either run out of road in a corner or crash it because you underestimate the weight of it and for short trips its no fun at all.
Don’t listen to them my first bike is a Honda goldwing ratbike, same model as the one in the video, and I handle it fine and have a lot of fun with it on short trips. It does weigh a lot but you get used to it. Just sit on one and see if it’s comfortable
My first bike 84 aspencade . I will tell you to practice , practice , practice get used to the weight and how she handles . Empty parking lots are the best. I'm a natural now ready for my first long trip
definitely gonna be way late for this, but with those timing belt changes are a must. I got an '86 not too long ago, had no idea how fresh the belts were so I just replaced them. It is worth the extra cash to know you have good belts, versus if one breaks before you change it. Those motors are zero-clearance, so if a belt breaks you will bend the valves and pretty much brick the motor right then and there
I rode Harleys for decades. At my age now, I want comfort, reliability, and performance. The guys laughing at me now, wake up in the morning crawling out from under their Harley blanket, brush their teeth with Harley toothpaste, drink their coffee from their Harley mug, check their phone with the Harley case, grab their Harley helmet, Harley jacket, jump on their Harley, pick up their Harley girlfriend, meet their Harley brothers at the Harley dealership, and go for a Harley ride. It becomes their identity. Who’s laughing at who again? 😂
I have a goldwing model 84, i love the bike but i dont like to ride it here where im living. Watching the video i see that the hightway is in perfect conditions. Here in Mèxico most of the hightways are in bad conditions i mean with a lot of bums. So when i drive the bike and pass by the road all the bike vibrates 😂 (the wind shield, the saddlebags)
It kinda feels like you dont like the look of this bike, and I'm so confused! I'm 25, and the only bikes that I would even consider buying look like this bike. I LOVE the 80's style Japanese bikes. I will buy an 80's/90's GoldWing or an 80's/90's Star Venture, or I will buy nothing.
+Srkcycles maybe we all have a little Sk8 Boi in us. Huh....Huh lol...I do, plus the gothicness of her is hot. probably spell that gothic word wrong lol oh well.
I know you are probably not as experienced as I am, '45 years riding' but you never test drive a motorcycle, you test RIDE a bike. And yes this bugs me when I hear anyone uses the wrong terminology.

I had an 87 Aspencade.. Loved it, especially the way it looked

That's when I graduated from high school. 1987 which was 5 or 6 years ago or so?

love the GL 1200 I have a 1985 and I see no reason to upgrade.
I keep trying but can't find a better one than my 1200 LTD.
I bought à 87 interstate , i had à 84 aspencad looks forward to run it!
@@linneadinesen4784 did an engine pull. Engine blew at 127750 miles yes u read that one right. Best bike I've ever had

GL1200 arguably the best bang for your buck. I remember your shop by Grocery Outlet.
Question were did you get those gloves
What riding gloves are you wearing?

it could totally keep up with your cruiser buddies and is fun in the corners , you just need to know how to handle it
It will shame quite a few cruisers and they will have to keep up with you.
What is this bike like compared to a GL1100, especially for touring?
Thanks for the ride !
are these late 80s early 90s gold wings reliable it's really tempting for 2500 especially those 6 hour trips where the gsxr is just brutal
they are and i just sold a late 90's for 3200

no
Why not?

holy fuck man. This is a badass bike for an 87'..
Thing looks like you're riding a boombox xD
someone please tell me why my 86 gl 1200 is only worth 500?
what killed this bike?
what more could we want? how about no mechanical ticking noises?....
LMAO!

I got a 82 I love it
Goofy looking?1200 is best looking Wing ,1100 1983 is best Riding Wing.
I agree
What makes the 83 the best riding? not doubting it, just curious.

aaarrrgghhh the breathing and tongue clicking!!!! oh and the bumpkin tunes....yuk!!! Nice bike
Alright. You've ruined me. Getting a gold wing 😁
I thought about making a business advertising your company
I’d rather have a smooth comfortable bike than a good looking bike
You get both with the Goldwing.

Girlfriends are sport bike rear seats hold onto you tighter than a goldwing and that can be a good thing.
These Hondas are way better than a Harley Davidson.

The Judge Dredd bike !!!
Goldwings are great bikes if you can get past the looks
The looks are one of the best parts for me. They look so perfect, especially from the 80s
