well it really depends on many different things. Some of the MS are exceptionally stronger in higher level, since they got more skill and have very good stats boost. Like LV4 Dijeh, even in 700 meta it can still be ridiculously tanky. Some MS has good parts slot numbers and extreme personality can be use in higher level too. Like Zaku 1 sniper, with overtune parts and good aim. It can still be very fearsome in 450 game. My personal opinion is use LV4 MS with overtune parts, since it can have the maximum effect so the suit will not be left behind much. Or use high level MS when it's still in low~mid cost, since the inflate is not that severe. Overall, it's mostly on the person who pilot it. But still can not over look the difference in higher cost combat.
I tend to agree with this. Most of my suits that I bothered to push that far start to feel underpowered past lvl3 or I have a better native option. ex my Gouf VD gets switched out to the alex or mk 2. Although I've taken a liking to the marasai for space instead.
I'd say its all dependent on what suit it is, like a pixie gundam its so mediocre that a level 1 is already bad; lead alone anything higher, but a level 3 kampfer is already loaded with good equipment and skill at native cost it can go toe to toe with anything native to 550, same can be said for a level 3 zee zulu, it's original native kit and weapons were incredibly solid and can keep up with 650 cost suits, same for level 4 it can take on 700 cost suits.
They’re considered meta for a reason, at least those two suit’s specifically. One is tanky and high melee damage while the other can also be tanky and high range damage, also flies in its MA for hit and runs.
100% agree. The majority of stigma's in this game originate from self proclaimed experts on the sub reddit that use their experience as an excuse to stop learning and adapting new tactics, they hold on to the bluezooka meta as the only meta like it's still 2020. I've played every flavor of Gouf at every level and comfortably switch between them depending on the situation with the Gouf Custom being my most played suit. They may not be the best at what they do but I can bet that anyone would be hard pressed to find a family of MS that specialize in so many different metas while still maintaining a coherent crossover of how they can play.

It's so very rare, but there's little more horrifying than realizing that a LV4 Gouf is starting his heat rod downswing while you can't do anything to get out of the way.

There are some suits that I wish had even higher levels. I'd have no qualms taking my Zaku II FZ Fritz Helm all the way to 700 if I could. High level suits being taboo won't stop me!
For me, I've seen enough good players in level 4-5 mobile suits to not underestimate them... however using a level 4-5 suit thats 100 points under cost is what frustrates me. I love the GM Sniper II... but it really shouldn't be fighting stuff like the Delta Plus and Jagd Doga. *Which has happened to me surprisingly often*
Using a suit that's 100 points under doesn't bother me too much in an unrestricted match. The only other time i think that its okay is if a clan decides they all want to play like a bunch of masochists for practice/training purposes (and assuming its a complete party of 5-6 players.

The Powered GM(LV 1-5), The Heavy Gundam(LV 1-4), The GM III Close Combat(LV 1·2), The GM Custom(LV 1-4), the Hyakushiki(LV 1-4), GP04(2-4), and Gundam MK II(1-4) are what carried my through D- to B+, I literally recommend ANY of these to new players.
The fun part about higher level MS is sometimes they have something that the lower level doesn't have that you wish it has in its native cost. Other times it encourages a player to change strats depending how high they're. Though I think the main issue sometimes it's just so different, most people (including myself) thought it doesn't really work at higher cost. I'm still struggling with one of these, but I really like the Re-GZ Custom and I wish I know how to use it on 700 cost, which is the only cost I actively avoid from the start I'm playing on PC and I wish I could play more in there.
I recently fully enhanced my Re-GZ level 4, but have yet to take it out into a 700 match. Maybe next time there's an unrestricted match, just so that i can test the waters with it.
There are some level 3-5 suits I absolutely LOVE to use, such as the Powered GM, BD2, and Gelgoog M Commander Type. But the best one for me has to be the Gelgoog J. It is still my most played support, and it has rarely let me down at any cost I've played it. And with its recent buffs, ooooh boy is it a blast to play!
Almost every suit you mentioned minus the kai and command i use the lvl 3-5 of and tend to have fun using them infact id probably say hyaku shiki is my most used raid between 550-700
High Mobility Zaku has always been a main of mine from lvl 1-3, but for 450 i use the High Mobility Gelgoog UL because of the missle laucher im familiar with, the late type Zaku i dont feel as comfortable with mostly because gernades dont feel like they can be as good as a machine gun sub wep
Zaku F2 my beloved. In a broad perspective, going in with a suit that's lvl 3 or higher is test of true courage of skills or a chad way of having fun. Either way you walk out with interest, how could you improve this skill set for a suit, a big question when going up the costs in a lower tier suit. Hell, the absolute wildcard of choosing "Low Tier" lvl 3s or higher and clapping people is a W no matter who wins or lose.
I'll happily field the Dom Cannon in any cost I can without fear, it holds up so very well. The Zaku Desert Type (not Desert Zaku) and GM Cannon II perhaps notsomuch, but I still swear by them. The GM Cannon II might be a slow piece of garbage with only three guns, but it can take a hell of a beating, and those guns still hurt, while the Zaku Desert Type can just continue to just throw out ranged attacks for a long, long while
2:45 a more true sentence has never been said up until now. It's just annoying that even if you get to the higher ranks with less then optimal suits even in quick match you'll still only fight sweat lords with shit like the Jeda and MP ZZ
Best thing you can do is just wait for the days when one of the daily missions is having to play 2 sorties in space. It usually happens at least once a week. The trick is logging in on the right day.
Back in the day when the MkII was brand new, The Dom Barrage and Gelgoog Jager wore my go to supports in 500 and 550, due to in part not having any of the GP0s back in the day. So many broken legs.
I think the only suit I push to higher levels is the Sniper II, but maybe this video is inspiring enough that I'll try and get out of my comfort zone, maybe.

This is what i tell new players. Focus on Native cost (lv1) or lv 4 units if you have the over tune parts. if you don't have overtune parts then I would only stick to lv 1 or 2 units. I explain it to new players as lv 2,3,4 are only if you really REALLY like a mobile suit and wish to use it in whatever the next tier is. I explain to them that there are exceptions to this rule. But the general consensus is stick to native cost. Its not an end all for using a lvl 2 or 3. But just remember there are generally better options.
How u know this game, u can only see 3 people DPS, if your rival is top DPS, u can only see 2 people (You and Your Rival) . Everyone else can be like 8k - 14k......Especially this game too fucking allow the game to be this passive, they dont play for fun. They play like if they die, they die for real......No matter i win, lose, (The match gap is under 1.5k, 3k, or double 10k vs 20k), I can get to Top score. I can't fathom people cant do their job well, and unwilling to learn even they not using lv2-5 unit They need to stop caring about all these weakling and show every dps, and hit per second (How fast and how accurate we deal damage) and rank based on this, rather all those passive teammate. (Especially if u play with 60% of the population (that 2 countries)
Glad GBO2 put in those gacha overtune parts to make LV4 suits potential powerhouses. Aside from those though, I’m not going to prefer lv2+ natural costs. Can be fun though
I’ve been able to top the scoreboard with a lvl 3 and 4 gaz-L so it’s not like higher level suits are unviable but it really does depend on factors like their skills
It's very much dependent on the individual suit And the cost bracket. You're not gonna get very far with a 700 cost Xamel When that bracket is full of banshees and Steins, for example
If you get dominated at 700 by a xamel you should probably go back to basics. Myself I run the dreissen at 700 with the bawoo br and heat stick. It's hyper tanky and even more aggressive than many native 700 generals
U might just be really bad with those suits ..when i used to play i used to use powered gm in 650 with both machine guns and was stacking ...i some how am really bad with suits made for that cost but a powered gm im not

Level 3 is my personal sweet spot for older machines. Level 4-5 is pushing it for me. I'm not that good.

Lvl 3-5 suits are fantastic. With the right mod set up and a suit you're familiar with you can dunk on Native cost suits.

I’ve been playing the level 5 zaku lately and it’s been great. I got 18k hp when everyone else is at 12-14k. And stronger level 5 weapons.

I use the level 5 zaku 2 all the time. Only suit I have a badge for.
Zaku II can be very deadly at 300.

If you get dominated at 700 by a xamel you should probably go back to basics. Myself I run the dreissen at 700 with the bawoo br and heat stick. It's hyper tanky and even more aggressive than many native 700 generals

U might just be really bad with those suits ..when i used to play i used to use powered gm in 650 with both machine guns and was stacking ...i some how am really bad with suits made for that cost but a powered gm im not
