Cathrin so happy for you that the table was all you hoped it would be. Now I kind of want to see you finish the kitchen cabinets, they look so nice and looking forward to seeing the end result once the countertops and finishing go on.
You should put closed cupboards with a bar on top in that nook, for your big serving plates, bowls, pans, etc that you don't use as often, that is specific to hosting big events
Sideboard in the dining room. Great to store seasonal dishes or occasional platters etc. also serves as a food serving station for parties/events. Sideboard.
Another vote for a big piece of artwork in the book over furniture 😊🎨🖼️
The dining table looks great and definitely fits the space. An area rug would help the space click together and feel more complete, plus it dampens the sound of chairs moving around and will protect your investment in hardwood floors. That alcove in your dining room is meant for a cabinet which you could either have built in like you said or purchase a freestanding piece of furniture. It's a great place to keep table linens, special occasion serving pieces or glasses, etc., and provides a nice horizontal surface apart from the table to highlight art, decor, or create a buffet area for plates when the table is full of people. Great design takes time, so have fun collecting pieces. I would love to see you lean more into secondhand furniture as it's a great way to find unique solid wood pieces at a discounted price without sacrificing quality. Larger scale dining chairs would better fit your new table and the room altogether. Can't wait to see how it comes together!

Ohhh love that little challenge "improve my life by 1%". Your new table is absolutely gorgeous! Love the cross legs on it and the length is perfect for right in front of all those windows.
Living frames in that nook area might look cool, too. It would give texture, dimension and green feeling to the space. ✌🏼

I try not to miss a Vlog sometimes i have to binge watch. I have pigeons in my roof space at the moment so i know the feeling with pests in your home.

Dining room table is so awesome! I love that nook, floating shelves? Could display glassware, platters, etc. It's never ending...I've been in my home 20 years, always changing things! Fun, fun! :)

Please add rug, Not sure if you can find the right size. It will anchor the space, make it feel like a separate room. Plus it feels good on your feet. Also you can change it & it will change the whole space & protect your floors from the chairs. Please add rug. Love, Love, Love the Table.
That table is soooooo BEAUTIFUL!!! 😍 And for the nook I would do a really big painting or something or maybe a huge plant / plant wall
I love the idea of a bar area in the nook glasses drunks ice bucket etc space for serving dishes to be displayed when not in use something like that. You could have a custom build that comes out a little further (depending on space, then maybe some shelves above just an idea ❤ love the table beautiful ❤

That nook makes me think of a little storage bench with a big fluffy topper to sit on and read or a big shelving nook! Yessss a built-in bar with art or shelves over it would be gorgeous in the nook. Love the table too! Personally I think a rug would add beautiful depth to the space and extra showcase the dining table. Crushing it girl!

Gorgeous table! I’m a big fan of rugs under dining tables. Honestly ruggable is the best in my opinion they have massive sizes and they’re washable.

I love the new table. I have a dark brown solid wood long table as well and I absolutely love it! It fits perfectly in the space and it was the perfect for when I hosted girls night! Thanks for sharing. I’m looking to redo my entryway table as well.
