  • After 25 years we at FooFightersLive.com are proud to present to you this long rumoured video!
    Foo Fighters performed at the Velvet Elvis Arts Lounge Theater on March 4th 1995, and soon after it was believed among fans that a video existed, but it had never surfaced. Until now. The original video had no audio due to a technical error so an also new secondary audio source has been dubbed over the video. Owing to time constraints making this 25th anniversary date the sync is not perfect, but it's pretty close.
    Credits for the video and audio recording go to Travis Stanley and Ryan Fox respectively, whilst transferring and editing was carried out by Nick Serra, Rob Landis and FooFightersLive.com
    Please enjoy this crazy early Foo Fighters video (fourth ever show!) and please share freely with other fans. If you do re-share the video, we only ask that the credits remain.

    Dave looks like a little kid in his first band starting out, but he had already been to highest heights of rock stardom.

    • @nickhartman6372
      @nickhartman6372 Год назад +10

      Picking himself up? He never once stopped writing or recording after Kurt Cobain died, it's well documented. The album was released in 1995, and Dave was writing and recording throughout 1994. The whole "boo hoo, I didn't know if I'd ever write music again" is a complete and utter lie that he used to garner sympathy and launch FF.
      Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the first FF album, and even a few songs off the second, but Dave hasn't written a good song since then. It's just more soulless corporate rock. Then you have Dave saying "don't come to my shows unless you take the jab"...yeah Dave, very punk rock of you to tell people how to live their lives. Ever since then I just see him as a total joke...whereas I used to see him as a sort of musical role model.

      I was at this show. You can even spot me a few times in this video. I lived in Seattle at the time and was pretty entrenched in the music scene. I worked in the A&R department at SubPop during the day and I worked the door at a few now legendary but sadly extinct Seattle venues at night. I also played in a few bands and put on punk and hardcore shows. I had actually put on a show at this venue earlier in the day and stuck around to see them play. It wasn’t an actual show. It was more like a showcase, FF were the only band who played. At the time, no one really felt like they were legends and I don’t think anyone imagined that they would end up becoming as big as they have. Looking back, I feel extremely fortunate to have lived where I lived at that point in time. My mom still has a set list from this show. There are several moments like this that have gone on to be remembered has major events in music history that I was lucky enough to present for. Looking back now it all seems so surreal. I’m glad that videos like this exist to remind me that it wasn’t all just a fever dream. I was REALLY there.

    Man it was great to be a kid back then, I was in the or a Nirvana fanclub, you'd literally get letters sent to your house back before the internet, I can't believe what Dave went on to do after Nirvana none of it was guaranteed but as Pat said especially after Everlong there were no doubts. Saw them live on the color and the shap tour, but the first album will always be my fave... and the track? Exhausted. heavy, melodic and quite moving. Loads of riffs only a drummer could create on guitar - really great stuff

      I don't think they'll make it big. Their singer/lead guitarist looks pretty shy, so unless his personality and stage presence change drastically, (which... come on, that won't happen) they'll probably keep playing small shows.
