@@eyesofthebeast yes we do. because its like one more "phase" which is played by everyone. even if played once its a way to bind players. the casual "classic" is dead anyways. everything now is just a phase of a few weeks / month. and then continue with something else.

I really don’t think 70 is the way to go - the problem is that will make all other past content worthless (hence same as retail) - they should make it gear/raid progressive.
I really like the idea of a greatly expanded Classic that forms some type of alternate timeline, where the WoW story progresses the way it should have before they messed things up, more along the lines of WC3. I also would go crazy for playable High Elves. I try to ignore leaks though since so many are completely fake.
They should make someone else the lich king or queen make Malfurion Stormrage the first demon hunter they come do endless possibilities
@@greenshards7422 Well for this to be compatible with WoW Classic, the point of divergence would probably need to be after Vanilla. It may need to be limited to more minor changes, for example Sylvanas not turning evil for no reason, or Naga joining the Horde. An RTS alternate timeline would be really awesome though if Blizzard was willing to invest in it, I'm just not sure they are, since RTS games are no longer as profitable as MMOs.

Ye, sadly most of the leaks are going to false, but there is some truth in them. I'm mega copium about Ogres, because that would be my new main. But I do hope they 100% go an alternate timeline. Anything would be better than the current lore lmao

As soon as the level cap increases, new drops will be higher level, invalidating all of the current raids in Classic
This is one of the main reasons Retail is dying, everything you accomplish at max level is immediately erased
Well, not entirely it is possible that it could work, because adding more tier is going to make the previous content irrelevant as well. They could make a 70 cap work, just need to find a way to keep old content relevant, and old raid still apart of the content, but yes increasing leveling cap could make classic plus worthless as well.

@@hummingbirdcity At this point, anyone clamoring for Classic+ to me wants retail but their way. It's not that they love Vanilla as imperfect as it may be, it's that they're entitled and think all the changes Blizzard made to the game are bad (except the stuff they like) and all the changes they envision would be good and with zero drawbacks and would never backfire.

I think the only reason there are still people that say "no changes" is because blizzard has shown time and time again that they dont know how to change anything. They dont have any talented devs left, so anything they try to change just ends in a desaster :D

Exactly. I do get all the people anxious about Blizzard fucking things up, but honestly, whether Blizzard does it right or not, Classic+ needs changes to well... be Classic+. I hope they do it right, but we'll find out soon regardless

Classic+ and expansion dont really go well together in my opionen. The whole point of Classic+ is NOT having an expansion. No new level cap, no new factions and that bullshit. That would not be classic, thats a new expansion or tbc reloaded.
Classic+ would be 1-2 raids, maybe 1-2 more zones and thats it. (for now) You can always add more content in phases afterwards.
Please don't increase the level cap in a classic+ version. Don't invalidate prior content. No need for more levels.
I think for classic plus they need to try horizontal progression and see how well it does. If it doesn't do good, then all you have to do is change the labels a little bit

The problem with (i)lvl increase with every new expansion means, everything you've done before becomes meaningless, because you out-gear, out-level and out-content everything. This is called vertical progression (because the curve increases upwards)
Horizontal progression, like in guild wars 2, can be explained in WoW terms like this: Imagine you played Dragonflight, reached max level (eg 70), done all the raids and dungeons etc. But when a new expansion comes out, instead of synthetically leveling +10 to reach 80, you level stays and the new items are different variations (but not higher ilvls), making your class, skills and talents feel different. You could then decide "well, I prefered the ice lance build over the ice X build, but oh, there is even an ice Y build in that expansion", generating options for you to focus on different content patches. Blizzard could do that in the existing world, without having to retcon/create hidden island #7, but rather fill the world in places where we couldnt explore yet, all the while through this the leveling journey/process to reach max lvl (eg 70) constantly keeps changing, or at least with each new content patch.
So instead of BIG EXPANSION THREAT OLD GODS ON NEW PLANET/DIMENSION, they would simply corrupt existing worlds and NPC and enhance, elaborate and change them - they won't have to invent new dimensions, they can do that small scale if they want to, but the characters, NPCs, the world and the player themselves stay relevant and it wouldn't feel like Marvel, where "there is always a bigger much worse threat you can't even imagine". Have one breathing, changing world, instead of many, empty, dying (like SL, BfA, Legion) worlds.
Basically cataclysm, but better executed, more changed and keeps evolving, while there still can be an MoP island, without making eastern kingdom meaningless.

Classic + would be cool. I'd like to see dedicated server/s for all the 'classic expansions' Vanilla, TBC and Wrath. Everyone is happy, we can all play the version of classic we want and it is low risk for Blizz.
I hope that we get an announcement of SoM2 launching within a week BUT with an announcement of classic+ being where you go after SoM2

There are ways to make an expansion for Classic+ that would be epic as hell and NOT raise the level cap. I personally think there should be epic CLASS Questlines that reward Tanelt points, to make up for the expanded talents that should be added, and reward new spells that should be added from TBC etc. from a Warlock perspective I should get Soulshatter, the Soulwell etc from these quests and a new mix of talents that include more Threat mitigation. But the level cap should not change, it should stay at 60. This means the leveling process of vanilla content stays completely relevant and the new class quests would be equally of value.
More things they could add for playable races. Since TBC would be a different timeline, no Blood Elves in the Horde, let’s bring back the Amani trolls, the high elves in the Alliance, Ogres would be cool but I could see them not doing that, but yeah let’s bring Zul’jin back into the fold.
I honestly thought with the darkportal scene with the trailer for classic, I thought chromie was linking old with new, going back in time with w/e was present. Worgen dk's could enter and level from 1 in classic. I thought it was going to be refresh take on classic itself.

When classic + is released people will again gravitate towards 2004 vanilla and feel nostalgic about it because its the best version of the game ever made and will ever be made. mark my words

Even if they stay in the orld world with classic+, increasing the level cap is mistake imho. It again devalues everything that came before. Why would anyone do any Raids / Dungeons of the lvl 60 era if they can throw that away 3 levels later and wearing greens again?
Populating the world with new stuff, adding Dungeons, Raids and other stuff to it does not require a level cap increase.
Also, when going into another direction, how about adding long term content that is NOT just more raiding but a world to be around in? Embrace the MMO aspect, not the themepark.

Future of WoW is a bit weird for me because I want Retail to return to EK and Kal, but at the same time Classic Plus sounds really intriguing. Would either of these make the other redundant, or would they, combined with the Netflix series, serve to reintroduce WoW into the public consciousness? It needs be said that Retail and Classic Plus would approach the challenge in entirely different ways. Retail needs to honour all of the post-Classic expansions. Classic Plus does not.
For Classic Plus, I can't lie: High Elves and Ogres would be wonderful ^_^ High Elves are problematic because Arthas virtually destroyed them in WC3. It would require plenty of narrative finesse to see them renewed without becoming Blood Elves. Ogres have been prominent members of the Horde since Tides of Darkness. They are integral to the spirit of the game and especially its good-natured humour. I would also like to see Goblins and Worgen but with the oldschool skins. This will need work because the original Worgen skins are not diverse enough.
Speaking of the Gilneans, my current obsession is with the Seven Kingdoms. I think there was tremendous potential with this aspect of the Human story that just never seemed to get much attention. It seems the Seven Kingdoms were always intended as a historical backdrop to the rise of Stormwind, but in my heart of hearts I've always wanted to see the Kingdom of Alterac rise again!
I feel like for me to care about WoW, I'd need a really juicy and well done world revamp OR classic+ as a seperate reality or timeline written by metzen. Both things would be great if Metzen touched them and if the gameplay is on point. Hopefully they make retail more like classic if possible.

It’s important to note that if classic plus is announced, we need to be excited, HOWEVER we need to take it with a grain of salt. Because everyone has their own opinions for what classic plus should be, and it would be impossible to implement everyone’s ideas. So don’t be surprised when blizzard adds things nobody wants. You also need to understand, for blizzard to release classic plus it’ll be a HUGE risk for them, because they’ll have to spend even more money to create content, and we should expect them to, because we want it to be good. So honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if we had to pay for the added content, ITS NOT GOING TO BE FREE. If it is free, then we will FOR SURE get a cash shop or wow token.
I have hope this will be the future of wow, but also take it with a grain of salt, classic plus community is divided on so many levels as to what would be considered best for classic plus.
A multi-Billion dollar company like Activision Blizzard is not taking a HUGE Financial RISK with classic+ with content thats already been there. The Emerald Dream, Mount Hyjal and player housing was already intended in the original WoW. It's called Cut/Unfinnished Content. You can see private servers that have already Data-Mined these assets from the original WoW to see for yourself. So essentialy your paying more money for things you should have already gotten way back in 2004 but nice Blizzard Fanboi story bro.
Level cap at 70 makes no sense at all, unless the gear stat creep from 60 > 70 is very very very minimal. We want some items from MC, BWL, ZG, AQ40, AQ20, and Naxx to be viable still. Instead of a level 65 green quest item replacing a raid acquired item...

Turtle WoW has shown me what I want out of WoW. Classic+ is all I care about. Nothing feels as immersive to play as Turtle WoW for me now.

with the update they did to add hardcore, technically the client does have the ability to use newer graphics and UI, it's based on the shadowlands client I think

It would also be conceivable that the developers implement “Chromie Time” in the WoW Classic trilogy. Once you have reached level 60, visit Chromie and choose either TBC or "Classic+" as an alternative timeline until level 70. Once you have reached 70, you continue playing WotLK as usual. Cataclysm Classic could then also be released.
If they do Classic Cataclysm, they need to redesign Dragon Soul. Unpopular opinion, but i think Cataclysm was a fine expansion UNTIL dragon soul.
Dragon Soul was lazy, rehashed tons of assets, was all over the place. Blizzard didn't even bother to craft a coherent raid, we were teleported from one boss arena to another. And the deathwing encounter itself was lackluster. I don't know about you, but hitting blobs and tentacules for 20 minutes didn't feel epic.
At end of wrath there is a deathwing raid and he is defeated before destroying azeroth.

I always thought I great way for classic to become a new “timeline” and for for a different game to do new stories would be in retail shadowlands when the last slither of Arthus’s soul crystal is released and Jaina wishes him peace, somehow that soul fragment time slips and finds its way back to to the classic timeline right at the moment Arthus lich king is about to finish us off, the soul fragment enters the body of Arthus and he gains all of his memories from his death and onwards to his time spent in the shadowlands. Arthus immediately stops puts down frostmourne takes off the helm of domination and releases us and tirion from the ice and the new story continues from that point on - a Arthus trying to redeem himself and save Azaroth from the jailers and saragaras’s plans

Look Blizzard could just hire me and i turn classic plus into a Scarlet Monastery expansion where the new raid is a new SM castle much bigger with different wings. New tier sets, PvP maps/gamemodes, 2 new legendaries, and 2 new races, new skills, etc. I could go on.

I want the future of WoW to be WoW 2, game needs a full reset at this point with devs that aren't afraid to innovate or take risks, that is probably the only thing that could convince me to give it another shot.
They're not gonna make 2 separate retail versions of the same game (which is what Classic+ is...just retail but not the same) and they sure aren't shutting down retail proper.

The problem with classic isn't in terms of difficulty of gameplay, that can all be fixed with enough time and experience like games should do. The issue is the tedious grinds for exp just to level up! I mean let's face it, the average gamer has like what, 6-8 hours even if they have a job? And leveling can take as long as several days JUST for one level up! NO GAME SHOULD TAKE LITERAL DAYS JUST TO GO UP ONE LEVEL!!!
What they need to do is simplify the experience, find a way to make travel faster for classic so you don't spend half an hour just to drop off a crate of someone's porn to their house in darnassus all the way from goldshire, and for the love of God, GIVE US MORE RACE/CLASS COMBOS IF WE GET CLASSIC+!!!
What if death wing is just, the main bad guy of classic plus. I could definitely see blizzard using cataclysm seeming to be coming out to bait and switch the community into getting super hyped over something they wanted and expected not to get.

Kinda looking forward to see what they can do... i went dead in 10.1 and couldn't really justify me subbing to WoW... Last time i spent this little time in game i was living on the street... ie; MoP era... and i still havn't found a MMO I could sink some time into yet like i have WoW.

Retail has become a mess and the way the story has gone is not very interesting. Any thing classic plus related would be amazing. Vanilla is still the best version after all these years.

Increasing the level cap is the worst shit on this list and it actually makes me not want to have Classic+ if it increases the level cap. That's just a fucking expansion then. We don't want expansions.
If you make a bunch of changes, it’s not Classic.
What I'd like for all of WoW is for people to go back to the world again. For that to happen you'd need a reason to go back into the world. If you can buy gold with WoWtokens or make them much more efficiently by raiding with GDKPs and all your raid needs are purchasable you don't need to interact with the world, you just need to raid log. So I want the token to be gone, I want more money invested in combating bots and gold sellers, I want accounts outright banned for gold buying, GDKPs being against ToS and people having a reason to be out in the world.

I don’t trust Blizzard not to screw up Classic. They need to leave it the hell alone like they promised. If they make Classic+ on separate servers, that’s fine. Maybe I’ll play and maybe I won’t. Chis Metzen isn’t perfect, and even though I’m glad he’s back, he presided over his own share of bad decisions back in the day. So, we’ll see. OTOH…
If Classic+ is actually good, though, think of the irony. One of the reasons that “expansions” (as opposed to separate game releases) were terrible was that they made everything that we accomplished in the prior release(s) worthless. Now, if we have to start over-yet again-with “Classic+,” how is that any better? Unless they can come up with some fair mechanism for allowing Classic-to-Classic+ transfers (or copies) of characters when Classic+ servers reach Phase 6, everything that we accomplished in Classic over the past four years will have been for nothing.
I feel like next blizzcon will be great. either they will announce classic+ and the hype will be insane. or it will be a shitshow with shit changes and a huge meme. I feel like these are the only two choices, with nothing in between.
Keep Classic world, but extend it with extra content, thats it.
The Awakening leak is silly, Blizzard has mentioned time and time again that the character model is too different from a regular humanoid and they could never add such a race.
Also, why would they go that far when they could easily integrate Draenei/Blood Elf into the Classic experience and no one would bat an eye?

World buff meta? No one i know use world buffs plenty of guild that dont use world buffs.
