Carter, I love your content! I'm not much of a commenter, but I want you to remember the OG followers know your heart. You are truly one of the first influencers that got me excited about budgeting and making goals! Keep going girl we love you!
Awe friend! You gotta remember that while some people will think the worst of you at the drop of a hat, most see what youve done and accomplished and find that as motivation to upgrade and do well for themselves. Sometimes people need to see a physical representation of their dreams 5o realize their dream is possible ♡
I personally love your personal finance content and think it's great that more women are talking about their finances. It's such an important topic and can be so empowering to take control of our own money. For me, it has been super helpful to watch how other people manage their money, even if income levels might be different; it's more about understanding the systems, I find. In any case, thank you for sharing as long as you feel comfortable. Also, how fun that you're also watching Ella's content, I've been wondering :)
I’m trying to have less of a grocery budget because I realized how much I have between the fridge, freezer, and pantry so figured I should use some of that up instead of always buying more.
One of the things I love most about saving and investing is how individually unique each journey is. There's no cookie cutter way to do it and win the race. It's about the decisions you make with what you already have. And you dont have to have a huge amount of money to begin. I'm searching for economic Liberation and an early retirement. That is what drives me most to stay consistent and disciplined.
@@CarterSullivan Yes! I get a lot of mine from Costco (together with groceries) so it just takes me a few additional minutes to roughly calculate the allocation between Groceries and Household! I love your videos!!

Love your content! So nice to have a fellow Canadian be so down to earth. Would love to see a video where you can break down how to actually start to keep track of finances.
Hi, brand new subscriber here! Just wanted to say - I love this kind of content because I'm trying to take charge of my finances, and seeing what other people do that works for them helps me immensely. I grew up in a family with very little income, so I had no reference point for how to budget for anything past expenses necessary for survival. I can appreciate some of your comments around feeling guilty about your income as this is something I struggle with too. But girl, we have to give ourselves permission to leave those feelings behind! You earned every penny of your income, and while I appreciate your explanations of how you budget, you don't have to DEFEND your choices to anyone. Do what works for you, and don't worry about anyone who has rude things to say. Those comments usually come from a place of insecurity anyway. ♡
THANK YOU for your vulnerability about guilt and money and scarcity mindset! I really don’t hear other’s talk about it much and I feel SO SEEN! Growing up poor with very addicted parents who also came from poverty, taught me NOTHING about finances or other adulting tbh, my husband came from upper middle class to middle class but his parents had scarcity mindsets from growing up lower class and they lived like we did as low low class. So we really have to learn SO much from outsiders, and content like this HELPS! Not because of comparison, there is none (I’m a SAHM of 3 and only my husband works, etc) but it helps break it down and give us ideas., It also HELPS SO MUCH when you think out loud it with us. Love ALL your content but so SO grateful for this type of content and your other realness that helps most people watching feel seen, heard, and understood! You really make a difference and we are thankful for you!
I honestly think being in therapy for years and working through my money issues and trauma, and how my growing up has affected my money mindset has changed my life completely and helped me understand the root of my money thoughts. I of course love watching budgeting videos, but I think that getting vulnerable and talking about how you're feeling about money is so important to share too. And that's why I love Zoe's videos so much❤️ I feel like because of my therapy and experience with therapy. I'm able to link a lot of feelings now to a scarcity mindset and just the way I was raised in regards of money. Thank you so so much for taking the time to leave this comment, it always means so much to me to read comments like this❤️❤️

@@debchaffin there's no right or wrong way to do it- either method is fine! I feel like you just have to try both out and see which one you like better! You are teaching your audience to thrive financially all while you are doing it! Yet you feel guilty..be curious about what your scared of..I went through something like that when I had a big shift in my socio status. You quickly realize that you are always you because of your humility and that you owe it to yourself to reach your goals unapologetically. Your true audience will be inspired. Best wishes.
I share a ton of our meals in the vlogs! I have been trying to film grocery hauls for IG and TT but I find it hard because we buy a lot of our meat in advance and freeze it for the year. We find doing smaller more often grocery shops actually help us save money so it can be hard to film our grocery hauls but I could definitely try and share more short-form what we eat for dinner videos. But here is what works for us- since we have separate finances Matt and I switch off buying groceries every week (one week he does and one week I do). We buy our meat from Costco twice a year in bulk (usually about $200-$300) and so most of our grocery trips week to week don't include meat unless it's on a mega sale. We both eat the same breakfast/lunch every day (cereal, yogurt, sandwiches or leftovers) and we are honestly creatures of habit when it comes to dinner so we often just rotate through the same meals. We only buy produce on sale so week to week our fruits/veggies vary and try and base our meals around sales.

It sounds like some of the guilt comes from hanging on to goals you set when getting paid by social media was a dream, not a reality. Sometimes we have to shift those goals when we learn what a new stage of life is like - which is still a hard thing to do! Maybe a “why you” is you’re capable of a humble approach to being successful?
