..it took me too long to realize why Captain Commando is called CapCom. Fuck.
He was basically Capcom of America's mascot, he would appear in advertisement flyers and stuffs promoting Capcom Games, then Capcom Japan decided to redesign him and make his own game.
That's why his victory screen dialogues in MvC1 are all Capcom trivia.

You could just tell a small reason behind Max being so hyped for this collection is that he can literally release solely content for this game alone for a few weeks and everyone would understand.
In reality, hes just enjoying his favorite fighting game. He gets to relive all his memories while finally playing on a console online. We rarely see the other games, lol Max just really wanted to play MVC2 again.

Yes. But while the game has a very high skill ceiling, it also has a low skill floor. If you don't run into people who have played this game for years and are just casuals, you'll likely have a ton of fun just mashing buttons until you can figure out what to start doing with your favorite characters.
MVC is easy to get into but at higher levels it becomes a gauntlet of the craziest skill you've ever seen in a fighting game. But that can honestly be motivating because one day you can be that good if you just keep at it.

This reminds me of the time Max battled a guy using a team of Dhalsim, Anakaris and Sentinel. Just like then, Max was so confused upon seeing characters no one ever picked kicking major ass.

Jill is my favorite, but I can't use her nearly as effectively as Maximillian.
She’s ALWAYS on my team. I always choose my characters based off my favorite games so for this I go Jill, Sakura, and Megaman cause I love RE, SF, and MM. I’m sad DMC wasn’t here tho 😢

New player she is who I am maining basically. I just want to use her lol maybe I'll try and pick up top tier characters but so far my team is usually Jill, Rogue, Storm. Jill is the one I consider the must have though.

I'm hoping we get some in depth strat guides for every level beginner to advanced . When the game dropped on Dreamcast I was just pressing buttons now as an adult with 30 years experience in fighting games I could actually learn this game properly 😂

People say that but most low tiers arent DOING anything ore than basic combos and throwing in an assist they NEED to extend a combo becayse they cant do anything on their own
@@TrollCapAmerica Yeah, but to many that's more interesting than getting one touched to death. More work and more having to play neutral or make conversions makes for more interesting matches.

Unpopular opinion: I like silly tentacle Shuma from UVMC3 more than I do classic eldritch Shuma from MSH. Dude's voice grew on me over

I remember back in 2001 when I moved to Vegas, I would sit in the arcades for hours and hours and hours on the MvC2 cabinet, that and Soul Cal conquest. Anyway, I discovered quickly what team comps annoyed the best players. In arcade there is no etiquette, the best players are looking to stomp you and establish dominance, they are picking Storm/Magneto/Cable first, then they pick random crap later, but I had these dudes staying picking the OP stuff lmao. I was playing Capcom vs Snk 2 when this was in arcades, so I wasn't used to the juggling. CvS 2 is way more technical and pokey and zoney.

I so want to play this game online again like I did back in 2010. It's great when I play against other low/mid-tier teams, but I am in no way shape or form prepared for the "I blinked and now I'm dead" god-tier bullshit. I know it takes skill and execution to pull off, but nothing is more frustrating than getting absolutely murdered for using a mid-tier team and being mocked and disrespected for even trying. Magneto is so fast it literally looks like the game is skipping frames to keep up with him.
I still remember one god-tier player messaging me "You're ruining this game u fuckin noob. Go back to playing Oblivion" after absolutely wrecking me, and that was 14 years ago.

Magneto is honestly the real reason the top tier meta in MVC2 is so bad. If they put an option to lock him out of being selected in vs matches, the gameplay would be so much better.

It's basically Red Yoshi again considering that for the Longest Time MVC2 with the FGC Boiled down to like 5 Combinations that saw High Level Play in Classic Tourneys.
It's nice seeing players use different fighters besides the META
The two hypest moments I've had playing this game were both with Jill.
1) Playing in the arcades, I stopped a Juggernaught Head Crush by kicking a zombie onto the ground and as soon as Jugs slid his way into it, he got his ankles munched. Head Crush stopped dead in its tracks.
2) Playing at my friend's house on their Dreamcast. They were Jin and just pulled out the Blodia Punch Super. I accidentally did Jill's counter (because that's a move you never want to do on pupropse). Jin's fist hit me first, so Jill yelled "HOLD IT!" and the giant, red and black Blodia Fist that has just come on screen said "Okay" and went back where it came from while Jill filled Satome full of 6 bits of lead.
Man, I used to love playing this game. Now my slow, old-man reflexes won't allow me to play it. Or, at least I refuse to embarass myself while playing it
One thing I never liked about the versus series was the amount of times a player could call an assist. It makes it feel beyond cheap

Jill with ken expansion or gambit card assist can lead to zombies setups in corner. So fun to play
I always enjoyed Rogue Doom Venom. Not to powerful but also not weak by any means. The second I found routes with Rogue figured out her links for command grabs oh I was having fun.
