I made these last week and they were soooo gorgeous. I had some leftover filling which we had as a cold side which was also delicious. Today I’m making it again but I’ve added a can of chickpeas and I’ll serve it with rice as a curry. So yummy❤
Thank you Chetna, I made these tonight and will be sharing them with my colleagues tomorrow. Love your videos and the simple guide to getting more flavour into simple dishes. Thank you also for being vegan aware.
I didn't have anyone to teach me how to cook, I've struggled and failed over and over. The first 3 videos of yours I followed were all successful and my family was so so happy. I can't wait to make all of your recipes. Thank you!
Hi Ashley. It is always a pleasure to hear of someone who has found cooking to be challenging and then felt as though they have been successful with recipes that have boosted confidence. With Best Wishes for your cooking and the continued appreciation of your family. PNH.
Over the past few months I've become obsessed with your recipes! Bought 2 of your books, subscribed to your channel and follow you on social media. I have one question tho. It would be so very convenient if you could write the ingredients of the recipe in the video in the description area of the video?? It would be so very helpful? Thank you and much love from The Netherlands!
Well done Chetna what a delicious meal so easy on your purs can be turned into chicken pies so easily and that’s what I am going to make thanks so much from 81yrs young Maxine x
I have just made these beauty's for lunch 😋 definitely recommend 👌 I have the easy baking book and it's full of lovely recipes just like this one Thank you Chetna for all you're hard work😘
Enjoyed this. Next time I would cut down on the coconut cream, which became the predominant flavor, and add cilantro or parsley or lime to brighten the dish. As written it benefited from a green chutney on the side.
Looks delicious! Turkey vlogs - Chetna, I have thoroughly enjoyed all your travelogues. I feel you are a natural and a brilliant storyteller. Shine! A little suggestion- if you could share with us millet flour baking whether it's cakes, breads, puffs as in this video. I feel a lot of us now tend to avoid all purpose flour for health reasons but find it difficult to replace.
I have been searching for an easy curry puff recipe using puff pastry and oven baked. Finally found what I've been looking for! They look absolutely stunning and remind me very much of the curry puffs I used to buy at certain Asian outlets in Australia. Unfortunately I have not seen them here in NZ (though we seldom buy takeaways - and then only fish and chips). I have subbed and I'm so looking forward to exploring your interesting channel. Many thanks and Kia ora from NZ.
Hi Chetna-- Just wondering what kind of chili powder you use, generally speaking. Cayenne or another type? I love all your recipes and make them often. Thank you very much!
Hi Chetna!! I love how ur recipes are easy to make and wouldn't take up a lot of time as well!! Thanks n keep going!! Would u mind sharing where you buy ur pots and pan from?
Looks delicious! I think making smaller versions for an appetizer would be great too. Could these be assembled, frozen and then baked when ready to serve?
I will absolutely try this one! 🤩 Thanks so much for sharing all these lovely recipes with us. Your book is on my list, but I’m a visual person and your films help so very much! ❤🙏
I had once heard a well known Chef calling curry powder a disaster considering the diversity of flavours our country has. We in India don't understand what this really is. Perhaps, It comes in handy when abroad and more suitable for the western audience considering their pallette. For the flavouring part, sky is the limit. Sambhar podi /channa masala too perhaps. Middle eastern mixes too are amazing. Depends the kind of zing one wants to lend. Chetna, your thoughts will be much appreciated.
@@FoodwithChetna It was delicious and the family loved it. Happily ordered two of your books but need and I much appreciate your cooking videos though! Thanks! 🤩
She’s not paid to advertise Waitrose’s puff pastry or Tesco’s puff pastry so she can’t tell you which brand of puff pastry she used.. you have to read on the ingredients on the puff pastry packets & buy them according to what u like in them.. all butter..animal fat.. totally vegan e.t.c
Hi thank you for taking us along with you to Turkey I go most years I love walking around those amasing spice markets. I have just bought 2 of your books and I love them both you have given my mojo back to get cooking again thank you. Please could you help I am in a very small viliage that has so little shop's I need to buy some spices to get started on your book's any one place or places you could tell me whom you buy your's from would be greatfully recieved. Take care.
Thats perfekt 💖 since I have my Baby I miss chicken filled Naan. Thats a good substitute until my Baby gets old enough for bigger cooking action. I will freeze them, so I can finish them in the oven when I want 😌
Where is the non-vegan version? I thought I heard you say at the start you were giving both. Can you use regular cream instead of coconut cream--I find it too sweet for savory things.
was afraid you were going to seriously burn your mouth--definitely will not try that at home. :) Read somewhere that coconut oil is a good replacement for egg wash for savory foods, such as these aloo puffs, whereas the almond milk method works better for sweets. I have never tried coconut oil in this role, though, and thus cannot vouch for it.
always avoid salt, it is deadly. your body is always trying to get rid of salt. there is enough salt naturally in certain food, e.g. tomatoes, garlic, apples, etc.

Just a few days ago I was asking my daughter what she would think of using puff pastry to make samosas! This is so timely!
unhealthy, best to make your own with wholemeal wholefood typeingredients.
Hope you will enjoy it
Thanks to share about this amazing recipe.
You are welcome
I love making the puffs with a more traditional somosa type filling.. delicious
Oh yes!
Thank you Chetna, I made these tonight and will be sharing them with my colleagues tomorrow. Love your videos and the simple guide to getting more flavour into simple dishes. Thank you also for being vegan aware.

Looks delicious! One question - you use "curry powder". Do you make your own? If yes, what do you include? Thanks so much!
Wow! Can't talk my mouf is full!! 👍💖
I've got excess filling but who's complaining?!
Thanks for the recipe Chetna, could you please mention which ready made pastry you have used? I mean is it from Waitrose or Tesco or any other brand?

I just go to my local Asian shop to buy spices, where do you live?
@@FoodwithChetna Horncastle in Lincolnshire.
I would add green peas, or chick peas with spinach for protein.
Hi Chetna, can you suggest a replacement for the coconut cream please as I like hotter, spicier food?
Hi can I add a little more spice. To make a wee bit spicier. What is chatt masala for
I hold you personally responsible for my girth! Such deliciousness from a potato! Love your vids and recipes.
There are so many healthy recipes on the channel too :))))
Love watching your vlogs 😍
Thank you 😊
Love you cooking
thanks a lot
Can I use short crust pasty instead of puff
Yes
What to use if don’t have leek?
Omg that looks soooo good ty xxx

I love aloo gobi
Yeah
We mostly make potato curry, fried potato, potato+tomato alot of dishes 🙂
That's great
@@FoodwithChetna Yes 🙂
I’ve never used curry. What kind do I look for at the grocery store ?
its called 'mild curry powder'
Where do I get the vegan puff pastry from?
Is the puff pastry vegan too? Doesn’t it have butter ?
Vegan puff pastry is now a days easily available in all supermarkets
Your hair and hairstyle is really nice!
Thank you so much
My partner doesn’t like coconut is there any substitute to the coconut milk I could use?
What about yoghurt?
just some thick cream
Thats perfekt 💖 since I have my Baby I miss chicken filled Naan. Thats a good substitute until my Baby gets old enough for bigger cooking action. I will freeze them, so I can finish them in the oven when I want 😌
Great idea!!
Hi Chetna . What are the five seeds in you mix that you use for you spinach and potato side dish .?
Its called punch poran, a mix of 5 seeds.
Where can I buy coconut cream I can only find coconut milk
What can I use in place of the coconut cream if I don't want coconut?
What about thick yoghurt?
You really need that for the flavour!
❤️😘👏👏👏
Thanks
Roti, Chapada and Naan how are they different?
Different dough and ways of cooking it
Are you back in the uk
Yes, said that in the start of the video, missing the turkish food
Will have to make with some homemade ,don't get puff pastry here
Where do you find puff pastry without butter?
Any good supermarket should sell pastry made with margarine.
All supermarkets sell vegan puff pastry
😂😂….. I’m actually making Chetna’s potato and pepper madras as this one popped up 👍👍
Brilliant!
Absolutely beautiful recipe, however, the video could be better. Ideally, ingredients and quantities initially the the recipe.
The written recipe is in my book as mentioned in the video
It would be good if you could list the ingredients below all your videos.
Like I mentioned in the video the written recipe with ingredients and all can be found in my cookbook
Where is the non-vegan version? I thought I heard you say at the start you were giving both. Can you use regular cream instead of coconut cream--I find it too sweet for savory things.
The cream is not sweet, even in the non vegan version I use coconut cream as it is essential to the flavour for this recipe
did anyone see an orb at 0:55 and 1:13
That knife at 9.00 looks SO-O-O-O dangerous !
ooooh
