I love Kenilworth Road. Managers like Arteta, Klopp, Ten Haag and Guirdiola have warned their players about the hostile atmosphere we create. Just 10,000 of us compared to 50,000 and more. That suggests how shit Premier League fans have become. I’d rather stay at Kenilworth Road and renovate it. Architects can do astonishing things in tiny spaces these days. Boca Juniors is renowned for their atmosphere globally. They only have three sides to their stadium La Bombanera. Can’t we add a tier on top of the Kenilworth Road end and replace the Main Stand roof with a platform that winds around from the David Preece Stand to the Oak Road end next to the new Bobbers Stand and build another 10,000 seats above. So many fans with soulless new stadiums are missing their old traditional stadiums. At least Power Court is designed as a proper football stadium with four separate stands and no hint of a bowl. But we out our wonderful club into the genius hands of Sir Gary Sweet and Sir David Wilkinson so I can live with trusting their decisions now. So proud of our historic club.
@@MadMurdock69 it obviously won’t happen because we’ve already started clearing work at Power Court. I only have a few weeks max left to live so I won’t see PC. I hope for future generations we get PC right and don’t have a soulless stadium like almost every other club with a new ground have. A Bobbers style stand for the sick and unemployed with cheap seats and safe standing would be my wish. We can’t lose the hostility of Kenilworth Road. Steep stands right up to the pitch would be nice. Instead of Wolves or Stoke style stadiums where I’d need binoculars to see the far side of the pitch.
@@jamisbillson4872 There's a chance we'll both be gone before the new stadium opens. I hope you hang on in there & give the grim reaper a kick in the teeth. Wishing a fellow LTFC fan peace & hope!
The reason it didn't get a go ahead in 2019 is because the shopping centre next to the new site was owned by an American company who took Luton FC to court to stop the stadium being built. After years of court battles and tons of court costs, the Americans sold the shopping centre and the new owners approved the stadium. About 3 years of wasted time and money due to those American shopping centre owners. The town council recently announced new regulations for new buildings so the stadium had to be slightly redesigned last year and those new designs have just been approved. The power substation has just been moved, then the soil has to be detoxed, the underground river redirected, then level the ground ready for building. The plan is to be finished for the 2026 season. The stadium could have a capacity of 25,000 with more areas of safe standing than originally planned.
Got an electrical sub-station that provides half of Luton and the Airport to move before the building can start. Drawbacks of wanting to keep the club in the town centre, where it's easily accessible.
It’s not a railway track behind Kenilworth Road, it’s the Luton to Dunstable Busway, which follows the old route of the Luton to Dunstable branch line . But it’s not the same railway line that goes past Power Court, that’s the Midland Mainline up to Sheffield.
Better not tell the Premier League about the new ground or they'll find a way to put a stop to such blatant progress ambitions before it gets started lol.
Take a right at the roundabout and up the flyover and you’re at my workplace (As for the RTC- average day in Luton) And thanks for name checking my village Toddington! It’s been traditionally blue belt land and the NIMBYs would never support a football ground there
Everything seems to come from Ukraine all of a sudden for the excuse to put prices up 😢eh, now we wait on the excuse of the we struggling to get stuff from America with the bridge blocking the way in the sea. BIGGEST CONS GOING.
I saw a RUclips site showing what AI would make of Premier League grounds. Luton got by far the prettiest, a lovely retro character Victorian frontage. Luton deserve a beautiful ground after what you have endured. I hope it becomes a reality.
We had the money anyway but the premier league gives you an incredible amount, allowing the allocation to be built straight at 22 thousand rather than 17.5 thousand. 170 million is a lot of money 😂
Firstly, the League Cup didn't bring in heaps of money. Secondly, the club was overreaching itself financially in the 1980s by signing and paying the comparatively high wages of accomplished players who wouldn't play for Luton these days. Thirdly, there was a dispute with the chairman, David Evans. I stand to be corrected but I think Evans owned the ground and the club didn't want to pay him the rent he requested. Finally, as hinted at during the video, Luton Borough Council seemed to have gone out of their way to discourage the club moving elsewhere. As the video mentioned, there is the guided busway down one side of the ground and there are terraced houses abutting the ground on the other three sides, so there was never going to be room to expand on the current site.

I've been reading about a new Luton stadium since I was a kid. I'm hoping to see it before I fall of the perch!

It will never ever happen..
They just won't spend the money...

Good to know! 😊👍🏾
Great video again! U are killing it!
Thanks 👍🏾
The river is underground and runs through the centre of the pitch
It will be exposed to run through the flats but stay underground through the stadium
Some fantastic on the scene reportage there Ry... classic loll
Gotta see what kind of area Luton Town are moving into 😅
They have been moving since I have been supporting them in 80s it seems there is always issues with the build I believe it when I see it

Looked like absolute carnage mate 🤣
Haha video was a bit boring so it spiced it up 😅👍🏾
Haha! Welcome to Luton
Can't believe the Kohler Dome never got a mention 😂
Match days around Power Court are going to be a nightmare.
Great video 👌👌
It is the river lee on it's way to join the Thames in London.....

Yes, one of the above! I'll not say which one here so as not to wake up any trolls.🤣@@RysFootyParadise
Well bloody said that man .. coyh 🧡👏👏👏
👍👍👍
Any move would be a step forward. Went regularly in the 80s when I lived in Bedford. It wasn't fit for purpose then.
Bro caught a glimpse of the new stadium and a car crash
How to see Allan Campbell scoring goals in the prem
Can you make a video of going to a game at aldershot town please 🙏❤
I’m sure one day we’ll go there 😁👍🏾
Thanks Ry they are my local club and I watch the shots home and away

The jobsworth saying he can't film a car park says it all,as for the new stadium I'll believe it's built when pig's might fly
Print just show us the stadium how it will be when finished
The river runs underground and needs re routing so not to interfer with the foundations

Spot on mate
People were blaming covid for years so it’s good to have a new excuse 😅
Not for a few years yet, progress is very very slow
Luton needs a new stadium because it will draw business to town.
Wheres theres a blame, theres a claim!

Looks better in its current phase than Dog Kennel Road! #ShitHole
Off Toddington would of been a much spacious Better site near M1 motorway 😮
I think moving away from Luton wouldn’t have gone down too well with the fans
I Have Absolutely No Clue How They Manage To Get This Money 💰
This season in the Premiership and either next year's Premiership or Parachute money will pay for the construction.

Kenilworth Rd is not quirky.. It's CRAP. Why didn't they spend some money after they appeared in 2 League Cup finals in the 80's.
Firstly, the League Cup didn't bring in heaps of money.
