I've lived in Luton almost my whole life and have always hated it and its gotten even worse, nothing to do here, not many decent jobs, a lot of good shops and stores have closed down and almost replaced by pound shops. I really want to move out but its not that simple
I've lived in Luton all my life. I'm a pensioner so that's a lot of years. Doing this kind of video is just brainwashing people into believing it's the worst. Every town centre up/ down the country have good & bad things.
If you visit Luton, things to see are Town Centre Hat Factory Uni of Beds St Marys Church High Town Bury Park LTFC (you missed our famous away end!) Wardown Park Stockwood Park Airport Train stations Chiltern Hills (all round the outskirts of Luton) Its an eclectic mix, but its not a bad place to live. People who talk it down are just jumping on stereotypes. But most have never explored it properly! Im born and bred here and i love my town!
Thanks for the recommendations! Luton definitely surprised us and with just a but more investment into the city and renovation, it would become a very pleasant place indeed :)
There is a park, there is a mall, there is a nice library, tthere is a football team, there are international food placees and most important: there is a low budget carrier airport around!! This place would be Top10 to live down here in Brazil!!!
As a non-white coloured person myself, i find it very disturbing that the native White Anglosaxon people are a minority in some areas of England. This is the fault of multiculturalism, which doesn't promote people to assimilate into the local culture, but cling to their old culture. If people don't want to respect and assimilate into the culture of England, they should not leave their homeland in the first place, they should go back.
Muslims moved in en masse to Luton over the last 30-40 years ago. Mainly welfare recipients. The British government (Labour) made it super easy for foreign-born Muslims to settle and sponsor more family members to join them. Instant Labour Party voters. Voila😉 Same thing is happening in the USA with Indian migrants courtesy of Democrats in power. Unvetted. Once they have Anchor Babies they’re “In Like Flint.”
As a British born person of Indo Pakistani heritage i find it dusturbing that there are idiots who complain about the lack of integration from non white communities. I think this is from willfull ignorance to the fact that White communities where extremely racist towards non white when they first came upon these shores, forcing new immigrants to stick together. I can attest to this fact being born in the 1970s, this issue was still ongoing. Maybe if Europeans did not destroy and pillage many non white "foreign" lands, the immigrants would have stayed put.
Thing is the Town Centre is not representative of all of Luton. Head up to Stopsley or Bramingham and you might be surprised. That said it is a post industrial town. In the 80’s and 90’s it was booming not to mention a great night out. In the 2000’s its decline began.
Anyone can do this as an experiment. Visit the surrounding towns near Luton as a comparison. Such as Watford, Hitchin, Stevenage, St Albans, Hemel Hempstead and Bedford. You'll see it's ALL the same - except they are 5 times more DULL than Luton. You'll be glad to be back in Luton where there is at least some noise and vibrancy. In Luton, the restaurant choice is enormous. The supermarkets and stores are nice and huge. The Amazon, Superdrug, LIDL warehouses are colossal. The airport is the 5th busiest in the country. For such a compact town, it has a lot going for it. It's main problem is its narrow minded, corrupt government that refuses to expand outwards. It could have achieved city status by now with the right vision.
It looks like this town can't develop too much due to political considerations - a bit sad because as you write it has amazing potential 🙌 It will be interesting to see what the future brings because despite little investment in Luton's renovation and development, residents seem very happy living in this town! We wanted to show a different side of Luton through Warrington village, which is a few minutes from the centre - not everyone knows the town so well to even think that such beautiful places are next door :)
Yeah, we were glad to experience it :) And also quite confused expecting some complaints from their side! We think that actually bringing some negativity would actually improve how the things will be done in the future :)
Have been in Luton from 1964. Family grown up. Working liife was wonderful. and lots of things to see and do. People change. We have a very diverse community here . I think the young people should be interested in life around here. the council more capable for looking after the towns cleanliness and helping out the homeless.. A great Airport, schools, and social gatheriings at different places too. . 😊
Luton is often unfairly stigmatized. There are many desirable areas, such as Old Bedford Road, where houses can exceed £1 million in value. Despite being a town, Luton boasts its own airport. Vauxhall cars were historically manufactured here for many years. The town's proximity to London and its relatively lower prices attract numerous businesses. Luton Hoo, often overlooked by vloggers, is a former stately home and estate where the late Queen spent part of her honeymoon. It now serves as a luxury hotel, restaurant, and spa, and has been the setting for various films. Luton is also famous for its straw hat production, which is why the local football team is nicknamed the Hatters. Speaking of football, they played in the Premiership last season, and a new stadium is currently under construction. Moreover, Luton supplies caps and hats to central London's suit shops. The town is home to many beautiful parks, adding to the list of positives about this historic town. While crime is a nationwide issue, exacerbated by inadequate policing, it's not unique to Luton. A knowledgeable local tour could provide a more accurate and elevated portrayal of the town. The local council could improve the town's aesthetic by investing in areas like the shopping centre signage, among other things, as you've aptly noted.
Yeah… I wonder why the city council doesn’t do anything with it. Imagine if all them areas were renovated - the town would gain a new reputation and all them efforts would contribute for sure to the promotion of the region too 🙏
@@JayandKarolina I think its more of a culture issue, I have travelled all over the world like you and there are some places where the people do not take care of their surroundings, then people come to the UK and bring that lifestyle here and then you get an imported way of living.
@@JayandKarolina I lived near there for just under 30 years, Luton has had millions spent on it and attempts made to improve but it just reverts back to type, ask yourself why?
Having lived in many parts of England over the past 40 years, I can say Luton is about the same as the rest of the country. Crime is not as bad as Bedford, but a few years ago London Boroughs purchased a large building near luton airport and moved many of their homeless people to it. So we have a lot more beggers and druggies than we had.
This was a good starter video of Luton, as someone who was born in Luton I can say that Luton is an overlooked town for investment over decades. This has resulted in mismanagement by officials in power and appropriate structures being implemented and applied consistently over years. The people are wonderful in Luton what they need is focus on infrastructure, education and appropriate development of buildings for accommodation. Yes the hygiene in some parts is directly blamed at the Council for cutting back on cleaners around the town. Also policing is at an all time low so deterrents are at a low ebb. Overall it's still a town in development but at a slow pace. Btw you should of visited Stockwood park and LU2 areas to show the very nice parts of Luton.
You're right! The first impression of Luton is not very interesting as you can see the derelict shops and unrestored buildings, but it was easy to see that people coming out of this town were really pleased with the direction it was going in. It will be interesting to see what happens after the election and over the next few years! The accessibility to the airport gives Luton a lot of potential, so who knows, maybe it will get more capital for needed renovations :)
I can tell you a lot about Luton (and Dunstable). It used to be a thriving town until 1980 when the industry started being dismantled. People used to come from miles around to the nightclubs that are all gone now. The shopping centre used to be much better before M&S, Woolworths, Debenhams and the post office left. The pound shop used to be a British Home Stores and the market used to be really good before they made a mess of it. There is some lovely countryside around Luton of which some areas used to be very upmarket. Dunstable featured in some films as did the village of Aldbury. Bury Park is not diverse, it is just about all Pakistani with good Pakistani shops. They are open to you because you have a camera. There is also a Polish community in Luton and I am surprised that you did not visit the huge Polish shop downstairs from the main entrance. They have a lovely coffee and cakes part in the shop. The square just outside the mall used to have grass and trees (one was 100s of yrs old) before the council wasted thousands on concrete slabs from China. The long road where I visit is also not diverse. There are max 4 families who are white so I call that a minority not diverse. Those posh cars you saw could have been celebrating a wedding. Cars are a big thing in Luton and it is often necessary to walk in the road due to cars parked all over the pavements. It is the pavements that is the big danger in Luton. There are also fireworks going off all the year round when they get married. I know I sound moany but when you know better and your eyes have been open to better, it is difficult to unknow things.
Thank you so much for sharing all that detailed information 🙏 We’re always trying to film in our vlogs the perspective of people visiting the place for the first time - which means that most of the time we will be kind of tourists that don’t have a possibility to know what it really is like living in a particular place. Nevertheless, we try to ask people’s opinions and actively share our thoughts and opinions 💭
@@massivehero4871 There's huge unemployment; it's extremely difficult for a young person to secure a job in the town. There are hundreds of people applying for the same job.
Did that old lady near the end accuse you of chucking that fast food bag on the floor? Next time go to Wardown Park museum, The Old Moat House, Stockwood Discovery Centre, Luton Town fc game, the Carnival Arts centre and Marsh House in Marsh Farm to see REAL Luton
I have had an association with Luton for many years. I never had a problem with anyone day or night. I found the muslim people to be warm and friendly. I have a black friend there who is one of the best people in the world. White people are nice to me. I am white. How you are treated depends on your attitude and the way you were brought up. I love m luton Muslim food. I am in Australia now, planning on going to UK and visiting Luton in December. Getting hungry just thinking about it..
Lived in luton my whole life 34 years. Has changed alot over the years, both agricultural and cultural. Generally people are very tolerant of each other as long as you respect each cultures. Am a luton fc supporter and a bus driver. The football stadium is very small although its had an upgrade for the PL, they are scheduled to move to a new stadium next year 🤞. The buses are regular size along the busway, but have "guide wheels" along the front axle that run along the metal rails and guide the steering. Like most places, it has its places to avoid and funny characters. There is alot of dumping of rubbish and spats of crime outside of the main shopping centre due to council cutbacks with bins and police. Bury park is a great place as long as u respect thier cultures, hence the funny looks u may have got there with the camera. Great vid guys
It's great to hear an unbiased perspective of a local :) We wanted to showcase Luton as it is but for us outsiders it's not always possible to know the town's past times! Thanks for sharing!
As someone who lives in Luton, it’s not as bad as people paint it, the government of Luton might be a little corrupt, but there’s corruption everywhere. All my life in Luton I stay in the town centre at 2am. I haven’t withnessed any crime but I was almost robbed in London at 10pm. Yet Luton is seen as worst. In Luton businesses open at 5am and close at 3am. In most English towns businesses open at 9am, in Luton u can get a taxi or Uber anytime, even at 3am at night, but in most English towns Uber don’t exist or there’s no drivers. The reason some people hate Luton is cause it’s diverse. Do a video and ask them how many times they have ever been harassed by people from other ethnicity and u would find out is few. In ur video most of the people misbehaving were not diverse people so that should tell u all u need to know.
When I moved to the UK, the first place where I lived was Luton. I also worked at Luton's airport for almost 5 years! I can say I miss it that much, but there is something that makes me wanna go and have a fish&chips at Wigmore's one more time! It was delicious! I would say Stevenage is worse than LTN
@@JayandKarolina it is an industrial city, close to the motorway, ugly apartment buildings and a lot of shady people. The main bus station and train stations are right next to the high street, which is a small narrow passage full of poundshops and Greg's alike. Overall feels like a doggy emigrant/commuter city.
Why so much fuss about Greggs? Greggs have 2500 outlets around the UK. Nothing specific to Luton about Greggs. Same food in all of them around the UK I imagine. Visit some of the independent small cafes and takeaways instead.
Being born in London and raised in Nigeria I’ve lived in Luton for 19 years and I’ve also traveled to other towns like Milton Keynes and Manchester Luton may have changed but don’t listen to the people that’s never visited this town a day in their life
@@JayandKarolina Luton was “iffy” even back then. There were areas where you wouldn’t go, yet I never felt unsafe there. Luton has been a diverse town for as long as I can remember, I never knew any different until I moved away. Since my grandparents passed away, I don’t have a reason to go back, but a part of me will always class it as home
Never been to Luton but really enjoyed seeing it through your lens, would love to see you guys visit Southend on Sea one day as I live not too far from the seafront but have not been in Southend for around 5 years and have been told it has changed a lot. Think a lot of shops have closed down but the seafront is still the same from what I hear but would be good to see through your lens. As always love watching your videos and such a friendly couple which more where like you guys :)
Thank you so much for watching and for the suggestion since we’re planning to film in the UK over the summer 😍🙏 We’re trying to be as natural as possible because only then you as a viewer can really get to know us and our thoughts! Again, thanks for your kind words!
True that! Many people see it only like an airport town - but maybe if there had been more investments and efforts put into renovation and promotion of the town, people would more likely stay over night and do some sightseeing 🥳
@@JayandKarolina is upstairs in the Mall and we used to know it as the Arndale centre and now it is the Point but proper Luton people prefer the Arndale it was famous for being the biggest indoor shopping centre in Europe in the 1970s and had a pink flamingo fountain wishing well that was a meeting point especially in the days before mobile phones to communicate
Great remark! We actually talked about it after filming that it’s actually so easy to pay attention to, especially if your council is being run in an effective way 🙏
I think you need to go to the council and social housing estates where the youth centers have closed, and blocks of flats are in a state of disrepair, which makes people go into a state of hopelessness, which fuels crime and makes places unliveable.
Great video. If you were to look back to say the 90's you will see the changes in the place shops etc. Theres no diversity anymore its all cheap shops but many of those well known shops have also closed in the rest of the UK. Debenhams, Marks & Spencer, Top Shop, etc, River Island and Next are still hanging in there the unfortunate thing is nothing decent has replaced them..just lots of cheap rubbish and shops
It's interesting how all them big chains are slowly disappearing due to the online shopping and also gaining popularity of more of the coffee shops/restaurants - because now it's more "the experience" people are looking for :)
I have to be honest here as a white british man I feel uncomfortable seeing parts of Luton which is in Britain and not Pakistan with Urdu embossed outside their homes but not one word in English. And unlike mass immigration in the past with the Windrush generation and the Jews, neither came here to change British culture. Yes they brought their culture but they assimilated and treated British culture as number 1. This is why this type of immigration will never work unless they adopt British values and culture first before their own cultures they bring here. Also, I wonder why when I see the Palestinian flag I do not see the British flag and the Israeli flag alongside. If you are a true humanitarian you will have 3 flags on show and not just the Palestinian flag which feels hostile to me. And why do we see a supermarket called Euro Market and not British market? In line with diversity which is being shoved down our throats by the mainstream media and causing division instead of unity. This is why we see hostility at the moment in the U.K. because diversity is all about loving the EU while hating the U.K..
You are right but there is a reason for that. When the first wave of brtisih Pakistanis came they had to endure racial abuse not only from the public but also the police. This created a huge mistrust of everything and anything British. They didn't choose to segregate but we're forced to because of racism. Now they live in a parallel society where once you get used to it it makes it hard to get out specifically since Pakistanis are getting married from Pakistan mostly and not in England so assimilation becomes impossible
I agree that people coming to Britain should integrate and adopt British values/culture. That's what my family has done. The Euro market I understand because it's mostly European foods/products - not British products 😅
Lived in Luton all my life have seen it change beyond recognition it is now a dump the only good thing about it is the airport, oh and certain areas have been colonised no attempt by some to integrate
Wise words Sean :) We tried to give the perspective of our first impressions of Luton but also, if you watched the whole video, we wanted to speak to people to actually investigate what it is like to live over there too.
Having been born in Luton I have seen its decline yes the loss of industrial jobs but new jobs have been created on the outskirts example like Amazon & Lidl warehouses and the airport is a major employer . Luton town center is very old and hence gives a bad reflection on the town with the continued investment its slowly improving. We all moan about the poor shops in the Mall but they close if they are not making a profit FACT. Luton has a diverse population and in the main everyone gets a long pretty well respecting others cultures unlike some similar areas. Luton Center needs major investment , knock down the Mall build a modern shopping center than attracts people in rather than us having to go to MK for decent shops. Luton has a lot of crime but then look at say Clifton in Notts where I have family more of a "White working class area" yet high crime . Come back in 10 years and see if its better 😁
I lived in Luton all my life,Luton has been hugely developed in regards to update of the mall and a new bus station new links, and the worse area was marsh farm were it was no go area much of flats have been flattened new shops have been put in place and a police station
That's great to hear :) What we found is just lack of funding to renovate all the abandoned areas but that's always been the responsibility of the town council :)
I live in luton and honestly i think you were lucky. It depends what are you go to and what generation of people you talk to. You were also very very close to a drug corner which if seen with your camera recording. You wouldn't have your camera now unfortunately but as said it depends what generation you decide to interact with to what answer you will get but I have had many many problems in Luton and there are many drug wars and crimes that go unlooked
I think that living in a majority Muslim city or country would be super hard as being western would be frowned upon. I don’t want to cover up and I don’t want to be shamed.
Luton is amazing to live in. Very diverse ! The Only issue is our town has a problem with homelessness. Even though we have lots of projects like Noah Enterprise, Signposts, & Mary seacole's, people are housed. There is nothing done about helping the people with drug & Alcahol addiction. They are felt neglected & these projects are in & around the town centre so most of the homeless people end up spending all day in the Town Center committing crime & begging. This is the only bad thing about Luton.
Depends on the person I guess :) Sometimes people don’t feel comfortable or very open to other nationalities but there’s plenty of others who don’t mind :)
I think some people enjoy talking Luton down as there is a specific demographic that live in Luton that they don't align with. These people want Luton to come across bad. I would imagine Luton has its good and bad parts just like any other working class town across the UK.
The Whitehouse was built in the late 90's on the site of a previous Co-Op , though the actual library is just next door .There's a reason it's called the Whitehouse, but nothing to do with Washington 😉
That's the plan! We’re actually planning to film the entire UK series over the summer 😍 It’s quite funny how our first videos are about not-so-nice places but we’ve just finished couple of videos in London 😍
It can be as bad what people say I was born and bread from there you won’t find how bad it can be by looking in the town centre etc the estates within Luton are more dangerous to roam around especially with a camera so when people say Luton is the roughest place to live we not just talking about how rubbed down the place is the gang violence that comes with it to some people Luton is describe as a similar comparison to like Detroit Michigan there’s an okay side and a dark side not many people seen before
I am not sure if I changed my mind - each city can be nice once you know were to go. Although you got nice interactions with locals and many people said food is good, there are still some no-goes there to me and would prefer to visit other parts of UK 🇬🇧 Thanks for this vlog though! At least, I don’t need to travel to Luton to discover it 😅
There are some cities, towns and areas in the UK I would avoid and Luton is one of them. Just no reason for me to visit. Greggs for me is a quick snack and I only go for the chicken bake and my partner prefers the sausage roll or the beef but have to eat while they are hot.
Fair enough :) We actually enjoyed our day out in Luton but agreed that we couldn’t live there haha 100% I personally like Greggs from time to time and as we said all the things are quite tasty (considering the mass production & the price) but they definitely need to be warm 🔥
Interesting why "influencers" ( >50k followers ) go to Luton, doing almost the same thing. I guess they get paid for these tours and was asked to focus on this and that.
I guess we just decided on a different approach 😬 Surprisingly all them people were satisfied with their lives in Luton so there’s no controversial opinions which would add the spice to our video hahah
Ask somone from Luton, Tommy Robinson is driven by his own failures as a Luton Drug dealer, his gripes are personel and orginate from getting robbed by rival dealers who happend to be Muslim or black. Tommy Robinson has very little credibility.
South Asian, brought up in Luton and still living here, most of my family are here. It's not bad, but it's not great either, lots can be improved... it's not far from London, we have a really good Airport and it's not far from various shopping centers if you don't fancy the shops here, MK, Watford, Bletchley all very close ... Thankfully I have my own car and do like to travel a lot but I always enjoy coming back to my home town. Or did I mention ? we got loads of places to go hiking.
I would definitely say that the filling was my favourite too! 🌱 There was so much flavour and also the pastry was a bit more crunchy and fresh in my opinion :) [Karolina]
Thanks for watching! I like to pay attention to the houses and cars because they often reflect the status and wealth of the people from a particular region :)
@@JayandKarolina I can see where your coming from but i think there should be some compromise between that and the privacy of the owners 🤷🏽♂️. Nonetheless good video 👍🏽
Glad you went to greggs 🤦🏻used to be a northern franchise , no where near as good as the bakers ovens that they bought out . Well done on going to my hometown and showing us the closed odeon and arndale centre …. So many of these
We actually quite liked the meal but couldn't imagine having is as often as a typical Brit 😇 We wanted to showcase the reality of Luton as much as possible!
I would say the UK is one of the least racist countries in the world. We've experienced racism and xenophobic comments from our Poland series and in our current UK series we've had nothing quite the opposite actually - really nice thoughtful comments. It's a shame as Karolina is from Poland :/
It's overcrowded, run down, dirty. Offers a very low standard of living. Too many built up areas, bad traffic, narrow roads. Loads of beggars outside shops and in retail parks. Lots of crime.
It’s interesting how nobody from the people we met pointed these things out… We definitely saw that there’s a room for improvement in Luton but couldn’t really see the „dangerous” things around. Hope they’ll do something about it to make it more pleasant for everyone because the town has a huge potential 🙏
most Anglo saxons don't really like living here. if you can find a native (which we aren't but we have been here for 1000 years) you'll either get people who are on the left politically or the right. the left love it the right hate it. most of us have moved to the surrounding villages. I myself am now in houghton, a lot of people go to Leighton buzzard and Hemel Hempstead etc. If they have said they don't see any crime then they're lying. in 2016 in Hockwell Ring there was at least one stabbing outside the shops everyday for a month. crime wise things have calmed down but it is incredibly dangerous if you grow up here. its not as bad for people visiting unless you go to the clubs the clubs in luton are known for tons of sexual assaults and stabbings and fights and just everything you can imagine but most of the crime is over drugs and girls.
This is my first time catching one of your videos and I didn't catch your girlfriends name so i apologise for that. However as a Brit i just wanted to say that she was very polite. It's strange, as i feel like i can call a place a s***hole when it is but if someone from another country originally does, i find myself getting very defensive 😂. Even if it is a dump.
No worries at all mate! We really appreciate comments from people like you - respectful and polite :) You can call me Jay and my girlfriend is Karolina. Yeah it’s a weird one right - I think I’m the same 😂
Hmmm, the opinions are divided I guess :) What would you say you don't like Luton for? It was hard for us to get some maybe let's say more negative options because most of the people we came across were very happy to live in this town!
@@JayandKarolina yeah but in 97 it was still a proper English Town now it just a horrible place every nationally going I am not racist but it not nice to walk around your own town and here so many different voices
ive been here for 25 years and it was good with the shops and nightlife when i came but slowly the nightlife has disappeared and the shopping centre isnt worth visiting anymore, if you go into the centre after 8 be careful of the gangs wandering around looking to rob you. Abouts 10 years ago the centre got a revamp and was very nice, they god rid of the drunks and trouble but that didnt last long. Its completly gone down hill in the centre and i dont go there anymore and the rubbish is everywhere on the streets not just in the centre its really REALLY bad people just drop their rubbish on the floor and dispose of house goods on the streets. Drugs are a major problem everywhere ... dallow rd is a shithole dealers in plain sight druggies everywhere and nothing gets done, most properties that are 2 bed houses are now have 5-6 families in them and we wonder why we cant park anywhere when a 2 bed house has 4-5 cars . And they are building more houses on dallow rd ...... the traffic is fucking shit down there as it is without building more houses. the council must live outside of luton to not realise how bad it is or dont give a fuck. I wish i had not moved here, but i cant afford to move away. There is no pride in looking after the area you live in anymore.
Yes Luton one of worst places I was around somewhere Luton everyday when you guys were there. I will see you guys when you guys do the next videos in Luton when I get chance i can be on video. I’m around all day everyday.
I used to live there, grew and went to school there. My mum was a Luton Girl, born and bred. As someone has already stated, in the 80's people used to travel into Luton for the nightlife, now anyone with money can't get out quick enough on a weekend. The whole place is a depressing dump, in spite of what the council employees and left wing idealogues on here say.
We’ve heard so much from the people living now in Luton that it’s been very nice in them past days. But funny enough they didn’t mention anything at all about the deteriorating situation, which we thought was visible at first glance 👀
I hope your not biased because of your indian ancestry from a hindu background ( i guess ) because luton has a good percentage of Muslims - mostly not from your India .
I'm not labelling it the worst town - I actually had a fun little day out in Luton and enjoyed filming there haha. The label is given by media online so not really bringing any bias into this.

You wanted the clout and views by putting up a misleading title? You've got it now. Looks like you've never been to actual worse places like Liverpool, Birmingham, Bradford, and Coventry. I dare you to vlog in Primrose court, Liverpool.
We found both the sausage rolls very tasty - the original one and veggie 😇 We were quite surprised how the inhabitants were positive about their town and that actually it was only lacking some renovation efforts - but Luton itself has a big potential!
There's not many British people here..."yeah we can actually turn the camera around and see that"....*camera turns around and it's 100% White British people*...."uh this actually used to be a cinema here" 🤣. Also, you can't tell people aren't British just from looking at them. Might as well just say there aren't any White people here.
Hahaha, that's so true 😜 Sometimes it's difficult to capture everything on the camera you want but there's this general feeling of unsafely or suspicious environment - at least that's what we experienced parts of the city. Nothing really bad happened throughout that day but it's hard to judge what the town is really like visiting it only once!
Certainly colourful and diverse. I felt the same way about it looking like Southall. It may seem safe to walk around during the daylight hours, probably not so at night. I'm sure there are far worse places to live. But I feel quite fortunate to be living where I am in comparison, in WestLondon Thank you for the walking tour!
I can totally understand you :) Our aim was to investigate how it is to live in Luton and showcase the town from the most authentic perspective and to our surprise, even if some of the areas were quite abandoned or not looked after people seemed very happy with the direction it’s heading towards. Definitely we wouldn’t feel comfortable after the sunset but people’s opinions also made us realise that maybe it’s pictured way worse than it actually is 😌
Why do commenters here think Luton needs to be a City?? We have enough large cities in the UK. We do NOT need yet another large Urban Sprawl eating into our Amazingly beautiful countryside. Typical townie response, no thought for the loss of beautiful untouched green spaces which the current government and future government are happy to see concreted over and populated with poorly built 'modern' homes. I despair!
Our goal was not to persuade the authorities to turn this town into another metropolis, but to draw attention to what could or should be improved. To our surprise, despite everything, the residents whom we asked about their life satisfaction were very positive. However, we are curious how Luton will change, because it has potential, but unfortunately it does not enjoy the best reputation.

Its an eclectic mix, but its not a bad place to live. People who talk it down are just jumping on stereotypes. But most have never explored it properly! Im born and bred here and i love my town!
Thanks for the recommendations! Luton definitely surprised us and with just a but more investment into the city and renovation, it would become a very pleasant place indeed :)
Just who would want to visit bury park ?
I think Luton is worst for British people but it's normal for Asian or migrant people. Councils are collecting taxes but not spending for maintenance.
Hopefully the town's council will spend the money on what's the most important to its residents :)
Voila😉
Same thing is happening in the USA with Indian migrants courtesy of Democrats in power.
We wanted to show a different side of Luton through Warrington village, which is a few minutes from the centre - not everyone knows the town so well to even think that such beautiful places are next door :)
wow, yiou are truly lost.
@@truebro77 - Please elaborate.
How can you possible compare St Albans and Hitchin to Luton; they're infinitely better places to live.

Nice to hear the locals being positive about their town. Negativity is not good for business.
It’s not a coincidence that the areas with the most diversity are the most run down towns,
Yeah… I wonder why the city council doesn’t do anything with it.
@JayeshChhaya nothing to do with the council and more to do with the people.
@@mattlondon2242 correct

It appears here that Luton has a littering problem. This is something they should address if they want to create a better impression of themselves.
We could have done that because actually it would show the harsh reality of some of the poorest groups living in Luton...
What blocks of flats are in disrepair in Luton?

@@washimpatwary1446 didn't take long in the comments to find the racism bs.

You no that ❤

Anyone who likes Luton is part of the problem with Luton.
Also there are plenty of better food outlets in the Mall than Greggs!!!!
Karolina has never tried Greggs so wanted to include her reaction in this video since it's so close to all the Brits' hearts :)
As soon as they say "Diverse" you know what to expect. Good or bad.

It's overcrowded, run down, dirty. Offers a very low standard of living. Too many built up areas, bad traffic, narrow roads. Loads of beggars outside shops and in retail parks. Lots of crime.

most Anglo saxons don't really like living here. if you can find a native (which we aren't but we have been here for 1000 years) you'll either get people who are on the left politically or the right. the left love it the right hate it. most of us have moved to the surrounding villages.

@@stephenrice1592There were loads of irish and asians in the late 90s
@user-qt8gi8tb5u yeah my dad is from Ireland at least you can understand them lol
@@stephenrice1592 so he’s not english then
When the poundshops first opened you were correct everything was a pound
That would be a dream these days! Imagine haha
@@JayandKarolina yeah no chance now have you noticed they have it blocked off so you go all around the store
Good luck to the Green candidate when Luton is a struggling old Industrial town and has a major airport that is crucial for its economic survival.
Yeah that might be to huge issue tbh 😅 Unless a great amount of investments goes into renewable energy sources 🌱
ive been here for 25 years and it was good with the shops and nightlife when i came but slowly the nightlife has disappeared and the shopping centre isnt worth visiting anymore, if you go into the centre after 8 be careful of the gangs wandering around looking to rob you.
It's very sad to hear indeed. We truly hope that the city council would take more extreme measures to cure all them problems soon 🙏🙏🙏
They all say diverse like it's a good thing. It's a total and utter failure
It's not - diversity is what makes this town special :)
Yes Luton one of worst places I was around somewhere Luton everyday when you guys were there. I will see you guys when you guys do the next videos in Luton when I get chance i can be on video. I’m around all day everyday.
I think it was just a one off video for us! But thanks for offering :)
@@JayandKarolina I see you whenever your in somewhere in uk like London or that.
The label is given by media online so not really bringing any bias into this.
i live in this town
Do a vlog in huddersfield bro
Thanks for the suggestion! Any recommendations what specifically should we do over there? 😄
@@JayandKarolina what you did here 🤔
you cycled in birkby and fartown, why don’t you do a walking tour this time. Show the area…..
@@terrymardi707 oh you’ve seen that video! 😂😅
@@JayandKarolina Yeah it was good, if you can do like a walking tour from huddersfield town centre to birkby/ fartown particularly around bradford road that would be good
ITS STILL NOT SAFE TO LIVE...DUE HIGH CRIME +MOBILE PHONE +SCOOTER+EBIKE ARE HIGH THEIF...😢ALSO HIGH UNEMPLOYED...
That’s interesting that people have so many different opinions… Thanks for sharing it with us! Hopefully the town will change something for the better 🙏
I love luton so much
You wanted the clout and views by putting up a misleading title? You've got it now. Looks like you've never been to actual worse places like Liverpool, Birmingham, Bradford, and Coventry. I dare you to vlog in Primrose court, Liverpool.
Luton is not a bad town atall its all rubbish giving it a bad name for nothing
I think veg bakes is best gregs with meat are not best pizza is ok, Luton was always bad to wave of Roms totally destroy the town
We found both the sausage rolls very tasty - the original one and veggie 😇 We were quite surprised how the inhabitants were positive about their town and that actually it was only lacking some renovation efforts - but Luton itself has a big potential!
Współczuję ludzi którzy mieszkają w Anglii
That Green Party candidate is a real clown!
It was quite an interesting talk :) We were surprised at how easily he spoke to the camera and really wanted to get his point across haha
Total run down shit hole 20 years ago it was bad let alone now no thanks think ill pass 😂
Thanks man
Luton what a dump,
And where do you live dagenham
@@dar799 Live in sunny France lol enjoying the EU
Fair enough 😂 For us the town really has a huge potential but the funds are not put into the renovation efforts...
Certainly colourful and diverse. I felt the same way about it looking like Southall. It may seem safe to walk around during the daylight hours, probably not so at night. I'm sure there are far worse places to live. But I feel quite fortunate to be living where I am in comparison, in WestLondon
Thank you for the walking tour!
I can totally understand you :) Our aim was to investigate how it is to live in Luton and showcase the town from the most authentic perspective and to our surprise, even if some of the areas were quite abandoned or not looked after people seemed very happy with the direction it’s heading towards. Definitely we wouldn’t feel comfortable after the sunset but people’s opinions also made us realise that maybe it’s pictured way worse than it actually is 😌
Thank you so much for watching!
Hey brown guy what are you doing in white house
Come to Milton Keynes
Thanks for the recommendation! Is there anything specific you'd want us to film there :)?
you guys are reviewing Greggs ? LOL - GREGGS doesn't originate from Luton ! Try Southall Greggs or Leciester or Soho Road in Birmingham. Compare those Greggs too .
