Stacey Dooley investigates what is going on in her hometown of Luton and finds out why it is known as the extremist capital of Britain. Why is the far right on the rise? Media commentators all have their theories about what is happening there, but Stacey is uniquely placed to tell the story through the generation she grew up with - the people who are now shaping one of the most controversial towns in Britain. Stacey meets friends - some wearing veils and others who are fully-fledged EDL supporters. She goes to the heart of the Muslim community, dominated by one of the country's most extreme Muslim groups, meeting both self-proclaimed radicals and those trying to counter them. Is it all hype? Stacey Dooley, born in 1987 in Luton, seeks to explore the truth behind her town’s divided reputation. Despite media portrayals of Luton as a hotbed of extremism, Stacey wants to investigate the real dynamics between the English Defence League (EDL) and Muslim extremists like Al Muhajiroun.
She revisits her old school, reconnects with childhood friends, and engages with both communities to understand their views. Stacey also visits Bury Park, a predominantly Asian area, where she faces hostility from extremists but insists this does not represent the majority.
Stacey’s journey includes meetings with EDL members such as Tommy Robinson (Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon) who was at the forefront the recent #UKRiots / #FarageRiots, as she explores the far right's rise in Luton, and delves into the complex discussions around Islam, including Sharia law and the radicalization of youth. Despite tensions, Stacey emphasizes that extremists on both sides are a minority, and stresses the importance of bridging divides in her hometown.
Anjem Choudary who told Stacey she was on her way to hell for being a non Muslim and who only respected Sharia law has since been jailed for life for encouraging terrorism.

I've watched the whole of this video and watched the hateful remarks from this group towards the British people,police, and culture. What I dont see are any police or arrests for hateful,racist behaviour. Why is one group of people favoured and can behave any way they want to,whilst the other group are berated,arrested,dragged into court, and face prison sentences. There can be no uneven treatment,the law is the law equally for everyone.

Stacy dooley is actually an incredible woman. She was treated so harshly by the radical Muslims in her own home town. Yet she tried so so hard to try to help her understand. They completely put her down and disrespected every thing she said. Yet she still tried to reason with them. Her old school friend was nice the people in the mosque were lovely. She was so negatively received. Yet she left with hope not hate in her heart!. That’s not someone who is naive. That is someone open minded and very hopeful. I love everything she does. She tries so hard not to offend. Yet most of the men and women she approached on the streets were brutal towards her, her country, her government ( they might have a point there!). And most importantly her home town where she was born and raised, and certainly should have felt welcomed back there. Like she said don’t speak to me like that in my home town! Now unfortunately it’s not the EDL, we need to watch out for.its the MDL. Well that went full circle!.

Its my first time watching this video. As a muslim i feel ashamed that something like this would be taking place in our name. The Army set up a rescue mission and he went back to Germany for recovery. But he was so traumatised that the Army tossed him out after he went into town with his gun, thinking he was back in the Balkans. So I know why you won't want that to come here?

Saw a young girl in one the other day with her Mum in Ashburnham Rd, Luton, the start of the 'Muslim ghetto'. There is another Chapter, 109 Verse 61 regarding the Muslim view of cohabitation with those who are non-Muslim. The verse states, "You have your way, and I have my way".
This addresses those who do not believe in Islam that though we may have our differences it is important for us to be able to live amongst one another in peace and have empathy for one another.
Personally as a British Muslim, I want to be able treat my neighbours with kindness and give back to the community that helped and raised me by working in the health/public sector.
