Narayangad Fort | नारायणगड किल्ला

Narayangad is a fort in Pune district near to khodad-Gadachiwadi. Narayangad is a hill fort near Pune, located 80 km from Pune, 8 km from Narayangaon and 5 km from Khodad village. Near Narayangad is a small village named Gadachiwadi. From the base of the fort to the top of the fort is an easy climbing of 15 mins. The fort is from the Satvahana era and was used as a watch point for the Junnar Paithan route. The fortress is said to have been rebuilt by the first Peshwa Balaji Vishvanath (1714-1720) and given in saranjam or service-grant to Sayaji Povar. In the last Maratha war of 1818 Narayangad is said to have surrendered to the British in 1818. Above the fort there are small waterponds named Narayantake, and Chambar Take. At the highest point of the fort there is a temple of the Goddess "Hastamata" and below it there is the temple of "Mukaai Mata".
नारायणगड हा जुन्नर तालुक्यातल्या नारायणगावजवळ आहे. नारायणगडाचा किल्ला म्हणून वापर बाळाजी विश्वनाथाच्या कालावधीत सुरू झाला. किल्याची तटबंदी बाळाजी विश्वनाथाच्या कालखंडात बांधली गेली. गडाचे बाकीचे काम नानासाहेब पेशवे यांच्या कारकिर्दीत पूर्ण झाले. याची नोंद नानासाहेब पेशव्यांच्या रोजनिशीमध्ये आहे. पहिल्या बाजीराव पेशव्यांचा नारायणगडाशी जवळचा संबंध होता. बाळाजी विश्वनाथाच्या मृत्यूनंतर छत्रपती शाहूंनी पेशवे पदाची सूत्रे बाजीरावा कडे सोपवली तेव्हा नारायणगाव आणि नारायणगडाचा सरंजाम त्याला दिल्याचे पत्रांमध्ये उल्लेख सापडतात. इ.स.१६०५ पासून जुन्नर परगण्याचा ताबा मालोजीराजांकडे होता. शाहजी महाराजांनी अनेकदा आपली नोकरी बदलली मात्र जुन्नर - नारायणगाव ते चाकाण पर्यंतच्या परिसराचा ताबा सोडला नाही. जुन्नर परगण्या मध्ये नारायणगड आणि खोडद गावाचा समावेश होतो. नारायणगडाचा किल्ला म्हणून वापर बाळाजी विश्वनाथांच्या कालवधीत सुरू झाला.किल्ल्याची तटबंदी बाळाजी विश्वनाथांच्या कालवधीत झाली.हे काम नानासाहेब पेशव्यांच्या कारकिर्दीत पूर्ण झाली त्या विषयीची नोंद नानासाहेब पेशव्यांच्या रोजनिशी मध्ये आली आहे. नानासाहेब उर्फ बाळाजी बाजीरावपेशव्याच्या कालावधीत पेशवाईची आर्थिक कारभार सदाशिवभाऊकडे होता सदाशिवभाऊ आर्थिक व्यवहारामध्ये दक्ष होता. इ.स.१७५८ मधील नारायणगडाचा आर्थिक हिशेब आपणाकडे तातडीने सादर करावा हा त्यांचा सक्तीचा आदेश चिटणीसी दप्तरामध्ये आहे. १९४२ मध्ये महात्मा गांधीच्या "भारत छोडो " या आंदोलनाला या गावातून उत्स्फूर्त प्रतिसाद मिळाला होता.माजी पोलीस पाटील कै.रावजी पाटील काळे, श्री बाळा पाटील गायकवाड यांच्या समवेत ग्रामस्थांनी नारायणगडा वर राष्ट्रध्वज फडकविला होता. ही माहिती कळल्यावर इंग्रज पोलीस त्या गावकऱ्यांच्या शोधात खोडद गावामध्ये आले होते. पण गावकऱ्यानि त्या बाबत कहिहि माहिती दिली नाही.
