You're such a kind person, Kayla. It's really good of you to pay homage to someone who's done so much for others. I'll play along to some Pantera in both of your honors tonight.
As if there wasn’t enough for me to admire this person as a musician she goes head and does something like this. The heart this woman has and the gratitude on display….I’m speechless. I’m now a fan for life.
Being gifted the guitar is such a wonderful gesture. Hearing about the additional support that he gave shows what kind of gentleman he was, in life and beyond. I can see that Kayla is touched by it and will continue the story of this guitar, spread it far and wide on the internet and ensure that Lyger will not be forgotten. RIP Lyger.
Kayla, I'm coming up on 30 years playing, you got it girl!! So sorry about Lyger's passing, absolutely sucks. RIP Kelly. What an amazing Axe, sounds incredible in your hands, great tribute to Kelly!
Beautifully stated and beautifully played. I'll just spare the words I would write and give some thought to all that this means. RIP Brother Lyger. Thanks Miss Kayla for sharing that.
Kelly was a very close friend and worked for me for a few years. I can't begin to process the sadness and anger I felt at his passing. I'm glad he is remembered in a positive way, he really was someone who cared about people.
Awesome homage to an Awesome guy Kayla. It humbles me to know that Lyger financed your West Texas trip! Keep on playing and getting better Kayla, and when you can, help out an aspiring musician! That is definitely the best way to honor Lyger's memory! 👍🎸♥
Very sad to hear of his passing !! But I am totally sure that you having his guitar is exactly what he would want to have happen !!! Play it with pride & joy (as I know you will)!! R.I.P. Kelly !!!
I have a guitar with a simmular story. Its still an honour to play it. He just wants the guitar to be played by someone he choose, and who loves playing it. Again, its an honour❤
RIP Lyger... such an awesome way to forward his legacy. He would want that guitar to be played. It's gone to the very deserving hands of Kayle and we ALL get to enjoy his guitar.
This channel you've created, has moved beyond anything else on RUclips. Misfit players, people of all walks of life and skill levels coming together for their love of Pantera, metal, and you Kayla 😊 the dude's soul is smiling and rejoicing, I'm sure, because you are playing his guitar. I don't know if there's an afterlife or not, but I definitely believe that we all have a spirit...his can live on through you now. Thank you for the bad-ass content and your overall awesome nature Kayla! Keep rockin, never stop, there's many of us depending on ya for not just entertainment, but good vibes as well☺️
That is a special guitar. I have the same Ibanez XPT700. It was a gift from my wife when we first got together and one of my favorite and best playing guitars. One that I will keep always. Yours is extremely special as it will live on in remembrance of your friend through your videos and more importantly, your playing. Sincerest heartfelt condolences. Keep shreddin’. 333 🤘🏼
Absolutely bad ass! I have the red version, found it at a pawn shop and the previous owner had not cherished it, like yours has been. But I've fixed it up and it is a destroyer. My condolences on the passing of your friend, sounds like he was one of the good guys.
🫵🏻 Are a great soul, and artist. 🙏🏻 More people should follow your examples of honest humility and talent. It's very hard to come by these days. 👍🏻🤔☕️❤️✌🏻😇
I'm touched by this, I can't imagine how emotional it is to you, so strong, conflicting feelings... you did a beautiful homage, and hey, that's a marvelous guitar! You deserve it. On another subject, but still about deserving, I was kinda pissed off because you wasn't invited to play at least one song with Pantera, I mean, I'm mostly sure Zack watched all of your videos to learn the songs.
Bitter... and sweet. It's situations like these that the word came from. You will always remember Kelly, Kayla. And that is a legacy. Couldn't have gone to a nice person. Take care, everybody.
Stories like this are one of the many reasons I keep coming to your channel. Keep up the great work. Keep supporting your fans as they support you. You're an awesome kid.
Some of the most amazing things happen to some of us who are the most unsuspecting! My respect and honor to the late and great Kelly Lyger who’s heart and generosity touched so many people’s lives, especially you Kayla! Good Samaritans who rock hard are absolute Jems. That honor of that Ibanez is now yours to carry thru girl! To Kelly Lyger, to whom many owe in gratitude.
I totally love you Kayla! Especially now! You are such a sweet, kind, and humble person! You completely deserve to be a star! We need more stars like you, who truly appreciate their fans! Keep up the excellent guitar playing, and stay true to you gorgeous! ❤❤❤
I have another little story for ya Kayla. 😊 How I ended up with a gorgeous, authentic, Mexican custom shop, 1972 Fender Telecaster Deluxe (double humbuckers), that's worth about $2,000, for free! I was visiting with one of my childhood buds, who was one of my best buds as a teenager, at his Dad's place, around my 40th birthday on Christmas Eve. His Dad was harassing him, and telling him that I was the better son, despite not being his. Then, it dawns on him, that they never bought me any Christmas, or birthday gifts, and he said I deserved them more, so he owed me big time, with interest! 😂 I laughed, and told him that it wasn't necessary, but he insisted. All of a sudden, he goes to his bedroom, comes back with a guitar case, and asked me if the gold Telecaster was too heavy for me, like it was for him. I almost peed my pants! Nobody had ever given me anything like that, so I was honored, to say the least! An expensive guitar, who plays beautifully every time, and STILL sounds amazing, after 50 years! My guitar is 5 years older than me! 😂 Love it to pieces though!!! The deal was that, I could have the guitar, with the promise to always play her, and never allow her to become a decoration on the wall! 😆 No problem! Now, I just wish I knew how to play more Pantera, and Zeppelin songs! 😂
Miss Kayla… sorry to hear about your friends passing. Play that G with pride! It’s a beautiful guitar left for a beautiful soul! Good things happen to good people! 🤘🏼🤓🤘🏼
Awesome story, we need more people like him in this world just a kind soul who was selfless when it came to helping others! Thanks for sharing this with us!
Sorry about your loss. Pantera played planet caravan almost exactly the same as Black Sabbath, and amazingly so. It’s hard for me to say wich one I like more. Both versions are phenomenal. Both bands are my favorite. Again sorry for your loss. He sounded like a good friend to you.
Love this, and love that the guitar went to someone that will keep and play it and keep his soul close to the music. Also that's one of my favorite tracks that is often overlooked and forgotten. It's so great that you finally got to play it and with him there in spirit
RIP to your friend. And wow he sounded like a really cool and humble guy! That guitar is really dope looking as well! His spirit will live on with that guitar when you play it! God Bless!
You always play great but now with this storytelling, both verbally and on the guitar, you reached deeper! I sincerely hope this is the one that blows you up to the millions of subscribers. :-)
That was touching and that's an awesome memento of the connection you both had. Thanks for sharing... it's sad but also beautiful, to hear about how people can take such good care of each other. Be excellent everyone, just like Lyger. To friendship!
It was so very sweet of you to play a solo for him on the guitar in honor of him. I am sure he is smiling down from heaven right now knowing one of his favorite guitars will continue to be played by one of his favorite people.
Sad, what a humbling experience it must be to receive a guitar from a fan who passed away. Cool that you get to keep a little piece of him basically with the guitar though.
Hearing stories like this from the guitar/music community give me faith that folks out there are still kind, wonderful and generous. We get caught up in so much of the contention without really understanding we're all humans on the same planet. Great story, wonderful playing and R.I.P. to your friend.
Such a beautiful story! And such a perfect solo to honor him! He sounds like he was amazing and you are so amazing for honoring him! Made me tear up! Rock on!❤️💔❤️🩹🤘
kayla this was a really well thought out video. i know you were stressing about it for a while but i think you did a great job. i didnt get the chance to talk to lyger at all but i sure wish i did. he sounds like he was such a great dude and good friend. i hope you can tap into his soul through that guitar. RIP Lyger. I hope he can jam with Dime and Vinnie
You're such a kind person, Kayla. It's really good of you to pay homage to someone who's done so much for others. I'll play along to some Pantera in both of your honors tonight.
Legendary to say the least. Rest in Peace my brother in the human race.
RIP Lyger. Good dude. That guitar could not have gone to a better new home. 👍
Rest easy, guitar hero. Your beloved ax has found a worthy master.
As if there wasn’t enough for me to admire this person as a musician she goes head and does something like this.
The heart this woman has and the gratitude on display….I’m speechless. I’m now a fan for life.

Kelly was a very close friend and worked for me for a few years. I can't begin to process the sadness and anger I felt at his passing. I'm glad he is remembered in a positive way, he really was someone who cared about people.
