Violence against any student should not be permitted, but protests calling for a ceasefire are not “antisemitic”. It is also normal for students to be against any kind of event connected to the Israeli state.

It’s wrong to assault or harass students because they are Jewish. It’s also incredibly dangerous to underestimate just how angry people are about what the IDF is doing in Gaza. Inviting a former IDF soldier and current leader of an organization that called for the elimination of humanitarian aid into Gaza is beyond risky in a country where protestors are quite literally putting their lives at risk just to stop the violence.

@@user-bu8rb7ib6m It’s wrong to hurt or harass people based on their identity. Being Jewish or even Israeli doesn’t necessarily mean you support the war or what’s happening in Gaza. But when protestors decide to make someone’s Jewish identity the problem instead of their support for the violence in Gaza they cross the line into bigotry and antisemitism, and that just makes every Jewish person a target.
What a ridiculous mischaracterization of the IDF and UNWRA. UNWRA has been shown to have been infiltrated by Hamas and involved in Oct. 7 (at least 12 directly). The IDF is Israel’s army.
