Oxy is good at relieving pain though, who would have thought that the chemical cocktail that makes pain go away is something your body would crave... ... ... and yeah mark me in a list of category of people who have taken Oxy due to surgery and not becoming addicted to it.
I was diagnosed type 2 diabetic last spring after being pre diabetic for years. My doctor put me on Meformin and also recommended Ozempic to help with my blood sugar/A1C and so far it's been the best decision I've made for myself. All of my numbers have gotten better, my joints don't hurt, I'm learning to eat better, my feet and legs are not swollen from excess fluid, I'm exercising and my overall quality of life is just better. I'm also down 70lbs and will continue to work on myself mentally and physically.
That's great its a miracle drug, that works but should be medically supervised. My friends gained their weight back after going off the drugs. I think diet needs to be addressed when they prescribe. My friends haven't eaten better just less...
Yeah, Ozempic is amazing! It actually also proves the Bible true when it talks of denying yourself and not lusting after things. We are a lust crazed society and Ozempic works against your lust for food.
I have MS and I lost 60lbs after gaining it from a med and then coming off of it- eating gives me neurological pain, I lost so much that I became underweight. I also had the same experience with constant compliments. People knew I was sick but I always got the ‘but at-least you look great’… I was so sick of hearing it that one time at a party, a distant relative asked me ‘what my secret to not eating was’… I flat out said “severe chronic spinal pain, want some? It works like a charm”. The look on her face was priceless though 🤷🏻♀️😆
When I had hyperthyroidism I lost a massive amount of weight followed up with breast cancer lost more weight, had the most compliments of my life when I was sick and unhealthy. People are nuts
Because everyone wants you to do better, just not better then them. That is fact. Life is a competition among so many. That is why most of my friends are dogs lol
Why! Why couldnt this lady be smarter than you which at a glance she is probably more successful. For all we know she has more resources than the average and did her home work.
Tirzepatide has been amazing for me. Very mild side effects and I feel so much healthier. My joints don’t hurt anymore, my sleep apnea is almost gone, and I’m lowering my risk for the dementia that runs in my family. My weight gain and inability to lose weight was due to thyroid problems and perimenopause. I’m so grateful for this medication.
Someone said they've already seen some. Apparently it can result in stomach paralysis and other serious conditions among some patients. Big Pharma isn't known to be forthright about potential risks when they're making $billions. Danish economy is largely Ozempic/Wegovy manufactured by Novo Nordisk, which is surreal.
I'm losing weight on my own. It's a heart decision. I don't want to be skinny, but I aim to be healthy. I am making better decisions. I cut out the junk and the weight is leaving. I give myself a treat or two per week, and it's working for me. Food is very addictive. In America, we eat for EVERYTHING. I don't like taking pain medicine for a headache. I refuse to take medicine to lose weight. The side effects are so not worth it to me.
Exactly! I do not know why people who take this are that unmindful of what may happen to them in the long run. Like being thin is the only thing that matters at this point..same with drug addicts who are in it for the high without care for their health. If this was like a few decades ago i understand bec people are not in the know but most people nowadays are informed and aware yet they still succumb to this like a kid who cannot control themselves. Insecurity is the main reason and is a disease
I'm 66 soon to be 67 in a couple of months grandma. I have been overweight most of my life but in 2017 I joined weight watchers lost 45 pounds and have kept it off because I'm intentional about my weight loss journey. I eat balanced meals, cheat every now and then drink water, and ginger tea made from scratch. I stay away from sweets, eating a panera blueberry muffin once in a while, 🤣 I go to the gym 5 days per week and this is how I intended to keep my weight in check.
People don't want to admit it, but it's true. 99% of people in America is shallow. People treat people better if they look good. Also, people get jealous and treat people bad when they see a person looking good. It's all about looks in America or how a person dress.
Food is an addicition. They have shorter life expectancies and shorter health spans. I want my family and friends to live long, healthy, and not be physically restricted by immobility caused by obesity. As for the societal senitment towards fat people, we're genetically wired to be more attracted to physical prowess and not senditary overeaters. That's the harsh reality.
This past summer I cut out all carbs and sugars due to severe joint pains that had me thinking i might need a wheelchair. The happy surprise is the weight I have lost along with all those aches and pains. I hope this helps someone who might be overweight and / or suffering from joint pain.
I can say from my own experience that cutting white sugar specificaly, will take away restless leg syndrome, carpo tunnel, aches and pains etc. I reduced white sugar after finding out I had diabetes. At the same time, I was waiting for surgery for CT in both hands. I had it really bad and it cleared up the CT and so manny health issues. I still had white sugar in very small amounts but what a change it made to my health. My weight never changed oddly enough but, what an improvement in my overall health. I highly revommend the chamge before you put yourself through surgery. The effects of white sugar on our bodies is outrageous. I hope someone else can benefit. I truly do!. All the best to you if you try this.

As a person who’s been on both ends of the spectrum, I agree , it’s two entirely different worlds. In one you’re seen as highly valuable and in the other you don’t exist and you are totally invisible.
My wife was on Ozempic for Type 2 Diabetes and it does work well for that purpose (her A1C was only ~ 6%), plus, she did lose ~ 30 lbs on it- problem is that it was NEVER designed for weight loss and it’s now used so much for that purpose (essentially a side effect) such that actual diabetics can’t get the medication (due to shortages) for their diabetes. The Mrs hasn’t had access to it for months and is using a substitute that doesn’t work nearly as well for her diabetes. If you’re not happy with your weight, lose it the proper way- eat less and exercise more- that’s the safe way to do it.
She can reverse her type 2 completely through low carb/keto/carnivore and fasting. Check out Dr. Jason Fung and Megan Ramos. They have reversed type 2 in 1000s of people using fasting and low carb eating. Megan reversed pre-diabetes, fatty liver, and PCOS in herself, as well. Dr Ken Berry is also a very good resource. She doesn’t need to take meds and she can get her A1C to normal.
It’s amazing how my comments have all been deleted. You can reverse type 2 with low carb/keto/carnivore and fasting. Dr. Jason Fung and Megan Ramos have reversed type 2 in 1000s of people using these tools. Dr. Ken Berry is also a great resource. Let’s see how long this comment lasts.
Many drugs are never designed specifically to treat something and are often discovered to treat other diseases after being made available to the public. That’s just how medicine works. I understand your personal experience with the shortages but there isn’t any evidence that the reason behind the shortage is because of people trying to use it for weight loss. It appears more likely because of supply chain issues. And weight loss isn’t the same for everyone. Eating healthy and exercising doesn’t work for everyone and many people can’t afford to do that either financially or cuz of their individual circumstances. Obesity and being overweight are legitimate diseases that if treatable must be treated the same as other diseases.
I thought that’s why they made weygovy, which is the same but more drug in it. So that diabetes ppl could have ozempic. I’m confused now & yea it’s weak garbage that your wife now can’t access it!
I don't believe thats the case. She lost weight to fit in with her peers because she thought she was being teased by media and I think it's wrong. You need to lose weight the healthy way not by drugs and she should teach her daughters that to. I would be embarrassed if my mom was cursing on telly and taking drugs to lose weight. People liked her before now she is fake like Hollywood.
Yes! It really is the best! Admitting you aren’t perfect and have an area that needs to be improved is humanity! I’m overweight and, as a nurse, I also am frustrated by it because I know the health dangers of being overweight. I’m working on my health, and working hard to shift my thoughts toward my health and not my looks. That doesn’t make me or anyone else fat phobic.
I had gastric bypass over 20yrs ago. After 10yrs, I gained all the weight back. Obesity is a lifelong chronic disease that's not as simple as stopping eating sugar and exercising more. It's complex. I've been seeing an eating disorder psychiatrist for years. I started Mounjaro last year along with Pilates and I'm down 60 lbs. I feel like I have my life back and physically can do so much more. Yes, I will be on this for the rest of my life because it beats being morbidly obese. I can focus on living my best life - healthy and looking great without obsessing over what i eat. I eat like a "normal" person.
You CHOSE to be on a drug for the rest of your life, instead of learning to discipline your thoughts and actions when it came to your eating. Obesity is not a “lifelong chronic” disease, it’s all mental. Instead of treating your mental and empowering you to discipline yourself, your doctor gave you a pill to help you avoid dealing with your real issues, and in turn will make good money off of you choosing to be undisciplined.
I had tee shirts made saying: I've lost 230+ lbs. on Mounjaro! that I wear when out walking. It is months after I had them made. First, my diabetes is in remission and I am not bedridden anymore. I went from 405 lbs. 2.5 years ago to weighing 154 lbs today (Sept. 15, 2024). I tell everyone how I am alive today because of Eli Lilly.
Wow! I have been "obese" for a long time and can also say, ignored by "friends" and crushes like I didn't exist. Recently lost some weight, (not from using this but still) it did change how people treat me. The first thing I noticed was how suddenly helpful and kind people were while shopping and how nice men started talking to me. I felt the same as she said, sad. But also angry. The world has become extremely superficial.
@heybro6105 I think they put obese in quotes because they probably weren't that much overweight but still considered clinically obese. I'm 120 lbs but my ideal weight is 110 so technically, I'm obese which is insane.
It’s not superficial and shallow to find a treatment for obesity. The cardiac and endocrinology benefits are significant as are the mental health benefits. Those who are criticizing this treatment modality are the same people that judge people for their obesity.
SMH stop promoting drugs. Drugs do not equal a healthy lifestyle PERIOD. Drugs have side effects. My aunt developed cancer due to taking a weight loss drug. What don’t people like you get??? This is not the solution. Then when these people end up with serious medical conditions they will be crying like they didn’t know and no one ever told them meanwhile all the warning signs and information is right in front of their face. Drugs are made for people that have serious medical conditions, not healthy people that choose an unhealthy lifestyle or don’t accept themselves.
MD here. Ozempic will make you lose mostly muscle not fat. So long term you won`t get healthier at all. Then there are alarming side effects, some of them could be deadly. And you regain the weight when you have to stop Ozempic and you will eventually, be it due to costs or side effects.
@@hiraijo1582I'm on Wegovy and I've lost 40 pounds of fat and gained, so far, 5 pounds of muscle! You only lose muscle if you don't exercise. Your post is very misleading. You lose muscle with any kind of weight loss if you don't exercise. The only way to gain muscle is to exercise and the only way to lose fat is to diet.
Spoken like someone who's never taken it. So yes, you do need to take it indefinitely , but the proper use of these medications is to incorporate a healthier diet and lifestyle. Also, smart users will follow-up with a doctor and adjust the use as needed, that is, lower the dose or stay off it for periods of time. The goal is not to lose weight per se, but to maintain a healthy weight, which Ozempic can help by breaking the addictive hold that food maintains over our brains. Doing this for aesthetics is the wrong reason to do it. It's obvious that Heather Gay's reason for using Ozempic is 100% for aesthetics, given the amount of plastic surgery and Botox she's had done. She's had so much plastic surgery, she's half silicone and now almost looks like a man. Lastly, you can have GI side effects, most commonly nausea, constipation and diarrhea, but this can be minimized with proper follow-ups and treatment adjustments. The side effects can be severe in 5-10%, but this is usually dose dependent and can be managed. My guess is that in the near future, this class of medications will be shown to have significant cardiovascular (lowering blood pressure and risk of heart attacks) and metabolic protective effects with consequent improvement in life expectancy. Lily has retatrutide in phase 2 trials with 24% body weight loss, which is the highest seen with any of these drugs. Maridebart cafraglutide from Amgen, a GIPR antagonist with GLP-1R agonistic properties is in phase 1 trial with evidence that people can maintain weight loss even after stopping the medication. Innovations keep coming, but the biggest problem with these medications isn't the side effect, but the costs. A generic for Ozempic could be available by 2031.
I stopped taking it. I lost 42 pounds in a little under 3 months. I've been off it for quite a while now, I haven't gained any weight back, and I haven't had any side effects. Everyone is different, I suppose.
@joefish4466 lmao Nothing you posted contradicts anything I posted, kid. You are clutching your pearls about facts that you literally just confirmed. 🤣🤣🤣
I'm on Ozempic because of diabetes. It is the only drug that has helped me maintain a good sugar level, even keeled. But because of all this vanity, it is terribly difficult to get the prescription filled. I just went two and a half weeks without it (for the second time), and it was extremely frightening. The thing is, there ARE drugs specifically for weight loss (Wegovy, e.g.), but people are asking for, and doctors are prescribing, the drug I need to live. I wish people weren't so selfish, but that's the effed-up world we live in. :(
@@shane_rm1025No, slight difference. PleSe so your research. If that was true, I could zwitch over when Ozempic wss hogged by all the overweighters😊. I am type 2 diabetic and my endocrinologist declined to go that route. GEE, I wonder why😂?
@timewilltell5476 no, it is actually exactly the same drug, however, different amounts per stick. And they've been approved for different things making the ozepic more cost effective hence the frustration and why people don't just use the other.
What I sincerely want to know is why aren't diabetics being prescribed a high enough dosage so that they will lose weight? Both my brother and sister are diabetic. A few years ago my brother lost weight, and he no longer needed medications but got right back on it when he gained the weight back. My bro is currently doing Red Mountain Weight loss and is losing weight. My sister is now on Ozempic, but her prescribed amount is so small compared to the dosage of those taking it for weight loss. I feel that this is done on purpose to keep diabetics dependent on the medication so they can never get off of it. I really want to know what others' views are on this as well.

When are people going to get to the point where they don't give an "F" what people say...I finally got to that point in life, and for me, that's empowering.
This is about more than a positive self regard and not caring what other people think. Fat people have lower figures in job offer letters and are gaslit or have symptoms ignored by medical professionals when they seek care (among loads of other issues). A lot of the mental health “benefits” of losing weight are just people not treating them like crap anymore vs the actual effects of lower body fat or exercise. That’s not something you just positive thinking your way out of.
I’m 20, I’m also married so I am very much checked out of the social media realm. Let me just say that in highschool and even to this day… people in my generation’s entire existence revolved around their social media presence. People would rather take drugs or undergo risky surgeries to look a certain way then put in the work. Sad but true.
I used this drug and lost 200lbs. Once I got pregnant and stopped the medication I gained half the weight back! Even with eating healthy and exercising during my pregnancy. Just know if you start Ozempic you can never go off it because youll gain all the weight back even with diet and exercise

Clips like this should remind all of us: If we ignore someone who is overweight but then become romantically interested in him/her after (s)he has lost that weight, we need to ask ourselves if it is true love, or whether it was only about the physical attraction all along.
Sometimes it’s about loving someone who loves themselves enough to take better care of their health. I’ve dated a person who wasn’t healthy and it was tough to deal with their heart troubles because they wouldn’t make healthy choices when I wasn’t around doing the cooking and choosing the activities. Not all about appearances, but about long term choices together.
As someone who is taking mounjaro, I find peoples’ unfeeling comments disturbing. It’s not about being shallow, it’s about reclaiming your life. I don’t want to be thin, I want to be a healthy weight. I want to be able to get out and do things without being in pain. And if you’ve never struggled with weight, you cannot understand. You do need to be careful to drink a lot of water, eat plenty of protein, fiber and vegetables to keep your digestive system working correctly.

Byetta is a GLP-1 agonist and has been sold in the US since 2005. So that’s almost 20 years of this drug type being on the market. The risks are well known and included in all info about the drug. Just because YOU only became aware of it in the last couple of years doesn’t mean it’s brand new.
As I T2 diabetic who cannot take these medications due to the (in me) severe side effects, it makes me very sad that people who are just a few pounds over weight feel compelled to tolerate chronic nausea, vomiting, etc. just to lose thirty pounds, while diabetics who NEED these drugs cannot access them (the shortages mentioned.)
The correlation between your weight and your mental health is so strong. Living in a big body since being a child, takes a toll on a person that a thin (all your life) person will never understand. You’re constantly thinking about how you look, people treat you completely different and your insecurity is through the roof. Then you lose weight and the mental relief you feel is so strong. Fat-phobia is real (in both thin and heavy people due to our society, norms/influence), pretty privilege is real, and people do treat thin people, especially thin women differently than they do bigger bodied people. FACTS. And another person in the comments mentioned food addiction. Food addiction is a real addiction, and needs to be treated as such.
Hidden food allergies too- I think that’s one of the things that gets a major miss from “the experts”- Wheat & dairy, histamines, oxylates, hidden corn, rice and gluten allergies and sensitivities in general. Of course, an allergy can cause an addiction too. Your comment is wise and well stated. Thank you.
Of course the weight comes back. If there aren't underlying medical issues contributing to an unhealthy body weight, it takes life style changes to make healthy weight sustainable. Drugs and snake oils are not the solution.

I just didn't feel like all the BS that goes along with Dieting, the gym, calorie counting. Dropped 50lbs. Then I started going to the gym for resistance training and weight lifting 3x a week. Gain 10 lbs of muscle... Thank you Ozempic.
I'm currently on Ozempic for Type 2 Diabetes, a decision driven by my doctor's advice to also shed some weight. As someone who has struggled with being overweight, cycling through various diets, and experiencing weight fluctuations, I've found the last 90 days on Ozempic enlightening. It has taught me the value of moderation; realizing that I don't need to consume an entire pizza when a slice or two suffices. This isn't to say I've continued eating poorly. In fact, the medication-induced indigestion nudged me towards healthier dietary choices, steering me away from the unhealthy foods I used to consume. Given that Ozempic slows digestion, indulging in low-nutritional value foods is less appealing when I can only eat so much. I now prioritize foods that not only satisfy but are nutritious and beneficial for my body. With my A1C levels consistently improving, I'm hopeful that achieving an A1C below 5.7 will lead my doctor to consider discontinuing Ozempic. My aspiration is that these dietary changes will last a lifetime, allowing me to maintain this healthier version of myself. Losing 20 pounds in 90 days is just the beginning!

Eating healthy, staying active and genuinely being determined to stay fit while taking this medication is the overall purpose. @@mikemondano3624 that's why these medispas are popping up all over the place, with one MD supervising the operation. Cost has come down thx to increased competition, perhaps about $150 to write the prescription, and $500/mo for Ozempic through a Canadian pharmacy, and far less if you're willing to risk a compounded version from a local pharmacy. Just to lose those last 5-10 lbs., doesn't seem worth the risk of digestive tract issues, potentially long-term damage to the intestines/stomach . . . but clearly it works based on some adults I know who were 10-20-25 lbs overweight their entire lives. Already raising all of our health insurance premiums cuz Novo Nordisk is charging US consumers $10K/year, and insurers will cover it for BMI 27+ with certain conditions, and anyone with BMI 30+. So even if you're not on it, you're paying for others to be on it.
I'm on Mounjaro @ 7.5mg, My doctor wasn't able to get me Ozempic, cause she said it's super hard to get, and then knowing that celebs take it for their new roles or whatever, no wonder, but really it's just so hard to get and they are behind on making it. But, when I visit my parents in Myrtle Beach, SC, USA I walk about 2 1/2 miles and I lost a lot this January, Ontop of that getting home cooked meals. Now, back at home here in CT, I still walk about 1 mile a day. I do take my days off. But, I've seen weight come off, I can tell with my gut, and my face. I also just eat chicken carrots, and a potato every night minus Mondays, since it's Jersey Mikes night, lol I've started to bring my own sugar when I get a coffee in the mornings. I use truvia, I tend to use around 3 packets. I did pick up a coffee at the local Dunkin, and it was far to sweet for me. I don't even get an ice coffee from Dunkin anymore. I have no interest in drinking ice coffee anymore. I have no interest in going into Dunkin, I get my coffee at the local Cumberland farms here in CT. I still want to try this Ozempic.
I'm type 2 diabetic and have been on Ozempic for several years. I haven't necessarily lost weight while on it, but it has helped to manage the sugars and thus, I have less fluctuation in my weight, which in turn, keeps the diabetes controlled. However, I talked to my pharmacist today and was told that they are starting to have some trouble getting their regular supply. So, while I think multi-use medications are a great thing, if I can't get the medication I need to survive, that's a big problem.
I lost 120 pounds. It has improved every single area of my life. I’m even making much more money as I’ve been promoted several times. Obesity is absolutely looked down upon in this society.
I don't mind people in extreme conditions to try this but imagine being reasonably overweight and injecting yourself to lose muscle mass but still eating like crap because you just couldn't bring yourself to live healthier. It's sad. Good luck living a long and happy life.
My husband is T2D, a heart failure patient, weight is currently down to 280 lbs. Ozempic was always unavailable so his endocrinologist prescribed Mounjero. Even getting that at our local pharmacy was difficult. We had to travel to another pharmacy 10 miles away to get it. He has lost 15 pounds in 3 months. He rarely complains of lower back pain. Only side effect: fatigue.
I have type II diabetes and my A1C was very difficult to control. My weight was 195 - 205 at 5’11” male. This summer I started Mounjaro. As I titrated up each 4 weeks I'm now on 10mg per week. I weigh 152. Was down to 146 and skipped a few days because that's too much loss. What is weird is that not only do I rarely feel hungry but at one point 95% of the food I liked was absolutely disgusting. It was a bit depressing losing the joy of eating something delicious. I was eating ice cream because I still enjoyed it and I needed calories. I do believe you'll gain it back if you stop but because I have diabetes I'll always be on it. No side effects except for food looking disgusting. I want to lower my dose back to 7.5 mg because I want to enjoy more foods. Loving yourself despite your weight is vital but excess fat is dangerous: cancer, joint pain, becoming diabetic, etc… so body positive is good but keeping the extra weight on can take years off your life.
There are no long time studies about what this does to the body. In 10 years we'll all look back at the horror stories with no shock & then later the lawsuits will inevitably come.
actually it's been on the market since 2017 but was in clinical trials long before that. They actually do have an idea of long term effects. It's also the on the top 100 most prescribed medication list, so they have excellent data on it. SIde effects are usually well managed.
@@amylaw3416 I did my research a while back now. I absolutely respect that it's each to their own on the choice whether or not to take it. I was only giving my opinion & you obviously have yours. My mom was prescribed fenfluramine/phentermine by her doctor in the early 90’s. Not even two years later at 37 years old she required a lung transplant because it gave her pulmonary hypertension. All of the pills that she had to take in order for her body to not reject her transplanted lung resulted in kidney failure and she was on dialysis. She died at 52. Taking a drug to lose weight isn’t worth the risk.
I used Ozempic for 6 months and lost 30 plus pounds but felt bad most of the time plus i could not afford it anymore i hate to say it but if i could still afford it i would still be using it i have gained back 20 pounds
I’m 63 and vegan for 8 years. It’s a lot easier to control weight and avoid a lot of health problems like arteriosclerosis, type 2 diabetes, kidney failure, etc. just by not consuming animal products.
As a person who suffers from weight issues as well as Diabetes, I am pissed that celebrities are hogging this medication, and people like me, can't get it.
Ozempic gave me terrible explosive diarrhea. Mounjaro has been the trick for me. I have Type 2 diabetes though. It's been very hard to get my Mounjaro because of the shortage. Because of my weight loss I'll soon be able to get a kidney transplant.
My doctor prescribed Ozempic when I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I took it for four miserable months, where I experienced horrendous abdominal pain. It was difficult to go to work and be able to concentrate. I finally had to quit taking it. The side effects weren’t worth any potential benefits (which I never saw anyway). Every weight loss drug or surgery that I’ve known about in my 60+ years on earth have eventually been found to have profound side effects. I know several, people who had success with this one, but I wasn’t one of them.

I don’t understand why people feel so strongly about Ozempic when it doesn’t involve them. It seems like people are jealous that others have an easier life…
It's a medication designed to help diabetics control their blood sugar and its new status as a fad weight-loss drug is creating shortages for the people that genuinely need it. Additionally, medication is not a first resort for people who just want to lose a few pounds. It has potentially debilitating and fatal side effects and should not be marketed as some kind of miracle drug. The doctors who are prescribing it to anyone who wants to lose a little bit of weight are unnecessarily endangering their patients for money. Lastly, not everyone takes such an extreme libertarian view of society. I and many others care about the well-being of others and the messages sent into society by what's trending in the popular consciousness.
Jealous of what? This is a diabetic drug. You failed to understand people who need ozempic for type 2 diabetes couldn't get their medication. Everyone who was taken the drug wasn't obese or overweight. It was people who wore was already skinny taken the drug They wanted to be skinner. It was a shortage Ozempic and the other drug. Doctors where given it to people who were not diabetic. This is no magic or miracle drug. It comes with side effects just like other drugs. You have to keep taken it, if you want to keep the weight off. People have had issues because of the side effects. ruclips.net/video/JhzcX95Fl9w/видео.htmlsi=CquX7QVMHiRA6Z-Y
I was on Wegovy because I was prediabetic, have tried every diet known to man, have yoyo'd my entire life, I felt sick, in pain, and was on the verge of looking into surgery for weight-loss. I don't care about how I look to others. I want to not feel ill and not get diabetes. My insurance now says they will not pay for it until I go from pre-diabetes to actual diabetes and get sicker instead of preventing diabetes and getting healthier. It is so stressful knowing I am now starving all the time again, my cravings for sugar are back, my brain fog is worse than ever, my self-sabotage is back, and my overall health is declining again. And my depression and anxiety are higher than ever all because I'm scared of my health worsening. People don't think of all of that when they find our someone is on these drugs.
Being skinny does not equate happiness, look at all the evil skinny (Mo'Nique quote). Fat people are called jolly for a reason. They do more things that make them happy on the inside trying to find happiness. Weight loss does not equate to happiness on its own. It gives you less health problems caused by obesity but it does not heal your mentality. Losing did not change things for the better and learned from what friends said and what lovers did. The more I lost, the more i had to learn how to heal my mind from the changes i was having to navigate. Its a blessing to know swlf love first. You can gain and lose and be happy despite your environment or social atmosphere.
I have seen many people on this medication, the crazy part, is the second ozempic was unavailable to them, and they quit taking it, they gained back every pound they lost…
Ozempic is not covered by any health plan for weight loss so be prepared to pay $ 300 Can. for the lowest dose pen that will last for 6 wks of shots ( one shot /week ) . Your dose will need to be increased as you go along and that increases the cost out of pocket . It's not a cheap way to lose weight and it still means you need to watch what you eat . The only thing Ozempic does is make you feel full so you don't eat as much at a meal but that wears off hence the increase in the dose . It caused horrible cramps in the am and constipation and it still does after 6 weeks . I lost about 10 lbs . Not going to bother using it anymore .
I can understand Heathers sadness… When I lost 70 pounds all of a sudden everyone wanted to be friends with me and men all of sudden found me attractive. But I was depressed during that time and also because everything felt so superficial. Now that I have gained the weight back (10 years later and mostly because of two pregnancies) there are two different feelings. On one hand I hate my body even more, because I wasn’t able to keep my „good looks“. On the other hand I am happier with my relationships because I know that the people who like me actually like ME (because I think my body is not to like so it must be the rest they like…) I still want to lose weight though… It is a constant fight that no thin person who hasn’t been fat in all their life will never ever be able to unterstand.
I’m on Mounjaro and it has changed my life. I hate when people say oh just workout and eat right. I have medical reasons on why I can’t lose weight and Mounjaro seems to be the only solution I’ve found. It has helped me with my sleep apnea, my back hurting, and my own self esteem. If you use it right and follow your doctors advice it will work wonders.

Me too I hate when people just complain about and people just say do a normal diet but they it doesn’t work I did that twice for me at all that’s why am on mounjora I just stop eating more and more food until I feel full my cravings is all gone because of monujora am losing weight normal diet is not a good option for me because of my eating disorder called binge eating I really hate it and eating habits because have heart problems since I was young the doctors don’t know why my heart beats quickly I have any un answered questions to that for years and I don’t blame them to why my heart is doing that that’s why I need to lose weight if I don’t I could die or have heart disease
Now people are going to be judge “they are fat because they want to or because they can’t afford to be thin.. ew”… this is going to have some backlash … in a big bad way I feel
I’m just a normal person, I took Semaglutide (the main ingredient in wegovy, Ozempic…) I’ve lost 35 lbs that I couldn’t lose with any diet. I felt awful for 10 yrs. I gained 35 lbs from taking a medication for just over a month. I’ve lost the weight and have continue to keep it off. It’s a life changing medication. I’d recommend it to anyone.
Funny you should say that. My friend is on one of these drugs and is experiencing leg pain. But her first thought was that it was the COVID shot. No mention of the weight loss shot, which could also be causing her symptoms.
The rich don’t seem to have a problem getting these drugs. It’s like there is a separate supply for those who are maybe going to pay a high price? My aunt is diabetic and doesn’t count on her refill being there. Her insurance pays for it.
My daughter uses Ozempic,, shss a type 1 diabetic abd depends on it to keep her aiive.. getting her meds depends on the product being available because of world demand by dieters! Who do not depend on it to keep them alive!

@@seasons365actually I have gastroparesis. I saw you commented above about being a nurse and that ozempic and wegovy are the same medication. No one else can answer this for me so maybe you can…I felt awful on Ozempic and I’m sure having gastroparesis made ir worse. I was switched to wegovy and felt great!! I was nowhere close to being thin but felt very healthy, active and all my bloodwork was perfect for the first time in years. If they are the same meds with different names, why did I feel so different taking them? My drs can’t answer that for me
I am a nurse and I wouldn’t touch Ozempic or any GLP1 drug because I have seen the side effects that these drugs have done to people. Chronic nausea and vomiting due to slow gastric emptying and if you have to have any surgery you are at a huge risk for aspiration during surgery that can lead to death and that is a fact as I have seen it firsthand. Too many risks involved!
I was on Wegovy I was pre diabetic which is why I started the drug, but the remainder of my weight has been lost on my own… 35 pounds down and counting. My push is to be able to move with my kids that’s it
I have diabetes and thought this would be a safe and very helpful way to get extra weight off…Trulicity is what I went on for two months. I have Crohn’s disease and have had a lot of stomach surgeries many years ago from a traumatic experience so it was very surprising experiencing what I did on these shots. My stomach swelled and was painful almost from the get go, I couldn’t use the restroom very much and because I do live with Crohn’s disease that was extremely uncomfortable to suddenly have constipation. The stomach paralysis and gastroparesis I suffered from maybe aren’t the typical side effects, but they happened to me and two months after stopping the shots I’m still dealing with trying to get my body back to normal.
People once raved about Oxy being the miracle pain reliever. Many years later the consequences are still being felt.
💯
Oxy is good at relieving pain though, who would have thought that the chemical cocktail that makes pain go away is something your body would crave... ... ... and yeah mark me in a list of category of people who have taken Oxy due to surgery and not becoming addicted to it.

All of my numbers have gotten better, my joints don't hurt, I'm learning to eat better, my feet and legs are not swollen from excess fluid, I'm exercising and my overall quality of life is just better. I'm also down 70lbs and will continue to work on myself mentally and physically.
Great job!!
Good for you! 🎉

Exactly! I do not know why people who take this are that unmindful of what may happen to them in the long run. If this was like a few decades ago i understand bec people are not in the know but most people nowadays are informed and aware yet they still succumb to this like a kid who cannot control themselves. Insecurity is the main reason and is a disease

People don't want to admit it, but it's true. 99% of people in America is shallow. People treat people better if they look good. Also, people get jealous and treat people bad when they see a person looking good. It's all about looks in America or how a person dress.
Not America. The world.
Very true I get treated differently by people depending if I'm dressed nice or looking like a mom lol
That is beyond true!
It's human nature. We are wired to be attracted to healthy and strong looking human beings.

What a incredibly superficial and shallow society we live in…
Food is an addicition.

I’m confused now
& yea it’s weak garbage that your wife now can’t access it!

Instead of treating your mental and empowering you to discipline yourself, your doctor gave you a pill to help you avoid dealing with your real issues, and in turn will make good money off of you choosing to be undisciplined.
I respect anyone who is being honest about being on it. Everyone else is lying.
Right like Kelly Clarkson
I lost 80 pounds 20 years ago and kept it off. Not lying.
Preach
Why did you put obese in quotation marks? Obese is an accurate medical term.
True.. as long as it's in healthy manor.
Wrong
You can never stop taking it, and it can cause serious stomach and intestinal issues.
I was wondering….nothing goes up that doesn’t come down.
Yup! my Auntie had to get a part of her gastric intestines removed. Now my other Auntie is on Ozempic and I just keep praying for her health❤

Physical attraction is a necessary part of romantic relationships. It's a cold, hard fact.

Thank you.

Just to lose those last 5-10 lbs., doesn't seem worth the risk of digestive tract issues, potentially long-term damage to the intestines/stomach . . . but clearly it works based on some adults I know who were 10-20-25 lbs overweight their entire lives. Edit- How is your gut health? Lol, fool.
actually it's been on the market since 2017 but was in clinical trials long before that.
Only time will tell & personally I've heard far too many (anecdotal) horror stories to put me right off ✌🏼.
@@amylaw3416 THIS IS FALSE that there are no long term affects!!! The fda approved without the data. They are collecting the data now. This happens with approved drugs becasue the fda is corrupted. EVERY DOCTOR WILL TELL YOU THERE ARE NO LONG TERM STUDOES and that is has caused cancer in lab animals...
Why not just have a lower dose
Heather good for you! Love the honesty in your interview. You look incredible 😍
I’m 63 and vegan for 8 years. It’s a lot easier to control weight and avoid a lot of health problems like arteriosclerosis, type 2 diabetes, kidney failure, etc. just by not consuming animal products.
How many supplements do you need to take? I find it easy to control weight etc on a Carnivore diet with no supplements.
As a person who suffers from weight issues as well as Diabetes, I am pissed that celebrities are hogging this medication, and people like me, can't get it.
It's absolutely disgusting
Love her !!! She is so true and open! I love the end of interview !
yep
Mounjaro has been a game changer for me

And you seem simple. 🙄
For many, it’s a care about general public health and safety. Not just hating on others who have an easier life.
Basically, yes.
Jealous of what?
This is a diabetic drug.
You failed to understand
people who need ozempic for type 2 diabetes couldn't get their medication.
Everyone who was taken the drug wasn't obese or overweight.
It was people who wore was already skinny taken the drug
They wanted to be skinner.
It was a shortage Ozempic and the other drug.
Doctors where given it to people who were not diabetic.
This is no magic or miracle drug.
It comes with side effects just like other drugs.
You have to keep taken it, if you want to keep the weight off.
People have had issues because of the side effects.

Similar to gastric sleeve surgery. Losing weight is just one part. Eating a healthy well balanced diet and exercise is the other part.
So profound. Did it take a lot of study to come up with this sage advice that no one else never contemplated…
I am Australian it’s just so sad that you have such a terrible healthcare system in the USA.
@@shelleynowwilson It's very frustrating.
Age 60, and have worked hard since age 13 to keep the weight down. Without drugs.
thats great, keep it up
Being skinny does not equate happiness, look at all the evil skinny (Mo'Nique quote).
It cost me around $1100 without my Insurance
I can understand Heathers sadness… When I lost 70 pounds all of a sudden everyone wanted to be friends with me and men all of sudden found me attractive. But I was depressed during that time and also because everything felt so superficial.
Now that I have gained the weight back (10 years later and mostly because of two pregnancies) there are two different feelings. On one hand I hate my body even more, because I wasn’t able to keep my „good looks“. On the other hand I am happier with my relationships because I know that the people who like me actually like ME (because I think my body is not to like so it must be the rest they like…)
I still want to lose weight though… It is a constant fight that no thin person who hasn’t been fat in all their life will never ever be able to unterstand.

Weight loss is tough. I’ve been up and down over the years. Even had weight loss surgery and gained it all back. I’m sad about it.
I wonder if these people object to COVID shot but in a second will take this without knowing future effects?🤷🏻♀️
Funny you should say that. My friend is on one of these drugs and is experiencing leg pain. But her first thought was that it was the COVID shot. No mention of the weight loss shot, which could also be causing her symptoms.
That's a really great question!!
Same with Botox.
Truth
@@quickpstuts412 Leg pain isn't contributed to this shot.

What was with the dance music in the middle of this video??? It just keeps going… @3:45
Who do not depend on it to keep them alive!
ozempic is not for type 1 diabetes, insulin is. So this is a lie.
My doctor wouldnt give me a prescription why do they all get it and how? 3:59
I was in the Army for 20 years. I weighed 155 pounds at 5'6" 5% body fat. 14 years later my heaviest weight was 179, felt horrible. I am today at 165lb and dropping body fat. I am looking forward to getting to 160 and putting on muscle to be healthier . I have not used any drugs. Just exercise and my eating habits. Age today 52.
I'm your height and weight and 46 male. Keep the weight and turn into muscle 💪. I've gained 10lbs since last year but it's muscle mass.
I am in the process of doing turning it into muscle as well. Had to get the fat down first. Thanks for the reply. It is good to hear people start to get serious about their own health.@@fastm3980
I've been a physician for 11 years and lately I have had a hard time discussing weight loss with patients because they try to destroy me and my business online. It's important to be healthy and I hope that people continue to avoid obesity.

Good thing apparently non of these people have gastroparsis.
Gastroparesis**
@@seasons365actually I have gastroparesis. I saw you commented above about being a nurse and that ozempic and wegovy are the same medication. No one else can answer this for me so maybe you can…I felt awful on Ozempic and I’m sure having gastroparesis made ir worse. I was switched to wegovy and felt great!! I was nowhere close to being thin but felt very healthy, active and all my bloodwork was perfect for the first time in years. If they are the same meds with different names, why did I feel so different taking them? My drs can’t answer that for me
I think weight watchers should sue Oprah.
My push is to be able to move with my kids that’s it
The one that surprises the most is Okra being the owner of weight watchers maybe Okra is heavily invested in the drug companies.
Okra? As in vegetable or Oprah, the celebrity?

Help me! Is there anything I can take to stop my food cravings? Besides these shots. A appitate surpressint?
