Nah it still looks like a VR game to me (janky animations, FLOATING HANDS, first person) but my heart is softening I will admit.. I’m not happy about this and I’d KILL for this to be a console game with traditional Arkham gameplay but I might have to cave and get a meta quest

80 percent of motion sickness come from using the thumbstick to turn, if you able to stand and turn as you do in real life, that will help reduce motion sickness massively for most people.

Assassins Creed Nexus inside of a Quest 3 headset is one of the most beautiful looking gaming experiences you'll ever have. Yes of course there are PC games that look better but a major thing to consider is budget. If there is enough funding and a good team of artists working on a title the Quest 3 is capable of so much.

Can we just forget about motion sicness already?? It was never an issue, quickly turned out it goes away after slow adaptation. But by that time word got out, became a buzzword, and to this day clueless people scare with it. It's not an issue!

Have they taken into account the different intensity levels of games, or jumped staright into Lone Echo (like my friend)? I've been in vr for 8 yeaars, introduced it to many people, there were no one who haven't gotten their vr legs eventually. I've heard of people who got sick in cars, but even they're not a lost cause, because one of them is Alanah Pearce, the ex ign host, and she loves and plays vr despite all of that. So no, as far as I'm concerned, motion sickness is not an issue.

Stationary games, where there's no artificial locomotion (like Beat Saber, the og Batman vr experience, or any tennis type game) or where you can teleport like Half-Life Alyx, Until You Fall, In Death, Robo Recall etc. So even if you think you have a motion sickness issue, you can still have a great time in vr.

I will literally get so nauseous that being said I have no problem with VR the first week. I would get a little dizzy after 30 minutes and have to take a break now I can play for hours
Personally, I think that Arkham Shadow is a return to form for the series. I know it's not a 'traditional' Arkham game, but objectively speaking, it does everything an Arkham game should: High quality Characters, story, lore, detail etc. But for the series to continue healthily (especially post-Knight), Suicide Squad must be retconned to hell and back and replaced with an Arkham 5. Because prequel games will only suffice for so long.
I agree. What Sefton Hill and his fucking teenage-fat-redditor devs of SS:KTJL did to the Arkham-verse is outright not fair. A lot of character lore about Deadshot and Harley Quinn was rewritten just to appeal towards the Twitter Woke Community (who btw doesn't give a fuck about gaming, no matter if some games are LGBT-friendly or not, they just yap constantly without checking what's up here), which not only was that uber-disrespectful, but also fucking dumb. I've heard that the current Rocksteady crew is planning to "return to the roots" of their career, but so far - I have heard nothing since. For now, I wish one thing from God, based upon one of the Steam Reviews from that store page of the SS game: *GOD HELP ROCKSTEADY.*

It does explain why he left to make his own company (with old staff): Hundred Star games. Personally, I think Sefton and co. must prove themselves first in order to regain the confidence of the fandom. As for modern Rocksteady: It's a shadow of its former self, as the new staff haven't a clue, and like you said: them and their buddies at Sweet Baby are more interested at pushing DEI than creating a fun game based on Merit.
@aaronhall9077 I'm afraid that you're wrong in some aspects, Sefton Hill himself decided to write the story that was generically based upon some Avengers lore, meaning that yes - SBI might had manipulated him somehow into doing that fucked up thing, but overall - most of the ideas like live-service, multiplayer-influenced seasons and other dumbest decisions were accepted by him or simply forced. Also, he made a new studio, just to escape the backlash in regards of the game that has been spitted out of bullshit-worth diversity and other Corporate ball torture that I'drather not dive into. The GOAT Batman Arkham Videos himself made a video explaining the failure of that crappy game, so go check it out. You gotta do some scrolling but believe me, that's the real reason behind that failure.

@@RobbySutton I got quest 3 and it’s pretty amazing. U can use it on pc as welll. I played and open world 200 hour RPG called Asgards wrath 2 and it should me on vr and the quest being capable of playing good games.
@@mattbettcher7439 VR hardly seems like a fad at this point after almost 10 years since the Oculus Rift DK1 was released. It's since gone from strength to strength under Meta and others. This new generation of headsets is now nothing like the Virtual Boy of old as, among other things, it's actually useful for more than just gaming.

I was shocked last year after buying a quest three, I didn’t know they were gonna be so many people playing and that’s what shocked me. I played a game called Asgar’s rap two and it changed my whole perspective on VR because that game was amazing.
It’s kinda reminds me of Half Life Alyx, people were initially disappointed with it’s announcement, because it wasn’t a mainline sequel, but once the game came out, people shut their mouths VERY quickly.
I am broke which is a shame because I was honestly hyped for this game since the first trailer. From the get go I realized it was handled with so much care and understanding of the Arkhamverse, more than SS:KTJL could ever be. This would be the first time I watch playthroughs of a game before experiencing it myself, but I am excited.

As a VR user, the problem with people who already have a quest isn't that it's a quest exclusive, but that it's a quest 3 exclusive. Imagine if the PS6 dropped 3 years after the PS5 and then announced an anticipated game that was exclusive to the PS6. I currently own a quest 2 and was already planning to get a quest 3, but Arkham Shadow kind of accelerated that.

If it was designed with the Quest 2 and 3 in mind, it would be more limited in scope, look worse and probably be largely underwhelming. The hardware in the Quest 3 is being pushed with this title and that is exciting. I'm glad we are getting a better game at the sacrifice of almost 4 year old hardware. Its a pretty reasonable trade off
Exactly not everything is for everyone, they either get a VR headset and stop complaining or accept that they won’t be able to play this one. There’s been like four or five games for console but people want to be upset because there’s one for VR.
I called this when the reveal trailer came out, i think some people were just mad it’s a vr exclusive. I love how people shit on a company for 1 bad product even though they’ve made many good games and just don’t trust the company again.
when i first played the original arkham vr game it was visually stunning from inside the headset so i think graphics wont be an issue when you are actually in the game and fully immersed

I'm actually more excited about this vs a non VR release. I was top 10 on the leaderboards on 360 AA for many of the predator areas, number 1 on 2 of them. Hundreds of hours playing them but VR has me excited because its so different.
The only thing that really doesn't sell me on the game now is that VR headset exclusivity thing. I have the Quest 2 and don't really wanna fork out $500 for the Quest 3 quite yet. Maybe if we're lucky, they might run a promotion around the release to get the two bundled with the purchase of the headset. If that happens, that'll probably the biggest green light for me. I might still wait for reviews of the game just to be sure there is substance, but I'm sure that with the given gameplay it'll be a blast
If you live in the US I always see the Quest 3 as low as $300 on the used marketplace. There us a Quest 3S coming in Oct (maybe a package bundle with this game) that's going to be $300 but you it's going to have the same lenses as the Quest 2 but internal specs of the Quest 3
Dude this is just a 2D video which lacks any of the 3D, scale and plasticity that Vr offers. Plus the natural interaction / controls with your own hands instead of just pressing buttons looking through a window into a flat arkham like with the previous games.
unfortunately 2d gameplay videos will never justice vr gameplays, even the shittiest looking game can make you feel awesome while playing it in vr. Also people still think old vives, rift s or at best index they tried in their friends hosue when they are mentioned VR. they remember plastic fresnel lenses, cables, base trackers and a hefty pc. Now we have crystal clear pancake lenses, 2064 x 2208 per eye displays, inside out tracking, inside out fullbody tracking, handtracking, mixed reality passthrough in a single STANDALONE headset.
Idk it's still not going to make you FEEl like the dark knight because well you aren't doing crazy things that Batman does like gliding through the sky if anything this looks like a step down from Arkham Batman games it's a good game but there are limitations to VR so your not going to have that open world experience that all the other games have but hey I don't have a quest so I can't play the game
@@RobbySutton this is basically all wrong lol. Gliding is in Arkham Shadow and it already exists in many other vr games for years. Play Stormland or Population 1 if you want to see how awesome gliding in Vr is. Open world is also no Vr limitation as there are open world vr games, like again Stormland or Asgards Wrath 2. hell you can even play Skyrim in VR to make that game way better than it actually is just on a monitor (especially with some mods fixing Bethesdas lazy implementations). Batman Arkham Asylum wasnt Open World either btw. It was rocksteadys first arkham game and arkham shadow will follow the same style, which makes sense as its Camouflajs first arkham vr game. They can add an open world in an arkham shadow sequel just like rocksteady did with city to keep things fresh.
if this game is really successful but WB also sees how everyone wants another flat Arkham game, they might end up making one hybrid game playable both in flat and VR modes, like the newer resident evil games on PS5, or make a new flat game and also get camouflaj to make a direct sequel to this one, considering they are two different studios
I just can't wait for the predator sections as those are my fave things from the series. The only thing i hope they add but i feel like they wont is ar challenges. Also great video 👍
hey, I can see your concerns about getting motion sick and I recommend playing more VR in preparation, this is something that you build up a tolerance for and can completely overcome with some effort, don't push yourself too much just try a little more every day and one day you'll realize you have completely grown your VR legs, there's also a lot of tips online which you might wanna check out
My only problems with the game is 1 i cant get a meta quest 3 because of the price and 2 i cant play vr without getting a really bad headache, i wish they couldve released the game as a standard format arkham title but have it be compatible with vr for a more immersive experience
We need more good VR exclusives because VR doesn't have many good games and a lot of people refuse to play VR because there aren't many great exclusives.
I have a vision disability that prevents me from playing VR games, I loved all the Arkham games and am a huge Batman fanboy and it kills me I won’t be able to play this.
Is it a stigmatism l? I'm vision impaired as well and have a slight stigmatism (eyes shake a lot especially when focusing on something and see a lot of eye worms among other stuff) but for me VR is the best for me because of how close I can get to stuff and how high the resolution is helps as well compared to on watching a screen
Honestly would be really nice to play this on quest 2. Assassins Creed Nexus is an amazing experience, I recommend that game to anyone. And honestly just play until you start to feel sick than stop. Then play the next day and you’ll build a tolerance, at least I did just for AC Nexus.
The entire point of this game is that it's the first one to properly fully utilise the quest 3s abilities that's why it's a quest 3 exclusive it straight up wouldn't work with a quest 2
I've had this idea that the Switch successor will have a VR mode. If true, this game could come out on it as well, along with perhaps PSVR2. If it did, I'd be all in. Also the trailer does have me intrigued in terms of how it plays now. More than the original teaser did anyway.
a cheaper quest 3 lite with quest 2 optics but quest 3 processing power will be released around the time batman is released for much cheaper than a quest 3 (around 250-350 dollars, nothing has been confirmed)
The quest 3S is coming out soon which you’ll definitely be able to play this on, also the quest 2 is only £200 but you won’t be able to play this on it. Also random unrelated thing I feel like saying is that I feel like the main reason a lot of people don’t get headsets is because they expect them to be really expensive still like the one reason I never got a quest 2 until earlier this year was just me assuming it would still cost a lot like headsets used to
When this game was announced I didn't understand all the hate, the Arkham games are probably my favorite game series of all time, yes I would rather get a full actual Arkham game but as someone who owns a quest 3 I didn't understand why people were acting as if it would be a bad game just because it wasn't what they wanted.

Unless you’re quadriplegic, I can’t think of one condition that could prevent you from playing this system because it’s in VR. Almost every VR game offers a seated mode and comfort setting as far as motion sickness goes if your new VR in the beginning, you’re gonna have to play shorter sessions until you get your VR legs once you do it’s no longer an issue at all.
Since Quest 3 has better GPU and CPU than PS4(Even looking at raw power and not on teraflops numbers) i can see why this game looks this good at a mobile device. Obviously it wouldn't look as good as arkham knight, but again it still impressive.
It’s also HEAVILY optimized as most VR games are. Half life Alyx is one of the best looking games of all time but runs better than most games. It’s crazy
Great for me, I'm exclusively a vr player, I will be picking this up day one, am happy quest 3 is finally getting a great exclusive, and no doubt this will sell some headsets
I see people mentioning how much worse the graphics are than something like Arkham Knight which is an absolute no-brainer. Duh. To what people don't realize that clearly are not fans of VR is that immersion is superior. The graphics on this are actually going to look a lot better than people are thinking once on their head, but they added immersion is really what it's going to take or come to a new level. As a fan of Resident Evil, I can never play a non-vr Resident Evil again because it's just so damn good being IN the game
I really hope this comes to PC because it looks so good, but i’m not forking over 500 to upgrade my Quest 2 for one game when I can spend about 1000 for an upgraded PC that can do more than just VR
Tbf you can do more then just play VR games on Quest. I honestly use it as a mini computer. I used it on a plane to write out a Microsoft Word document and it worked great! After that I watched a 3D movie and darkened everything around me and made it a huge movie theatre like experience and I love doing that. Also if you live in the US I see the Quest 3 go as low as $300 on the used marketplace
I'm glad that some people seem to like this VR edition of Batman, but this just isn't for me the gameplay looks really bad due to the limitations of VR I'm personally disappointed with this Arkham game due to the main villain just being a rat dude and the game being VR even if this game wasn't VR the plot so far seems really bad this is another DC game that I will be avoiding as it doesn't meet expectations of what a good Batman game should be.

Still disappointed. Batman Arkham is my favourite superhero gaming series of all time, and after so many years without a new mainline Arkham game for console, this is just kinda a slap in the face imo. I like that game but there's 2 things that need be fixed. Batsuit concept looks like edited arkham knight suit, the texture metallic maps are low especially on that vr gear. Basically suit need better lighting reflection. Combat is very dope adaptation from classic arkham games but the Batman movement of combat is less realistic comparing to the real life fight, for example Batman move 5 meters away to hit the thug

I think the reason why they put it in vr is 1. You literally get to be Vengeance 2. Since it's not really an important game and is kind of just a "You don't have to play this one since it's not really required to understand the story.
Based on what the Devs have said, it may be impossible to bring the game to previous quest consoles due the the sheer power the game requires, we can hope for ports to other headsets though!

I understand and respect your opinions as well as everyone in your comment section. That being said..🤔🧐I play on Pc(Rtx4090/Rtx3080),Steamdeck, and Ps5. I have 5 Vr headsets..Index,Rift, Psvr1, G2, and Psvr2. Out of all my gaming systems the Vr platform needs the most wins 🏆 right now not later. In my own personal opinion the last great Vr software win was and still is Half Life Alyx ‼️Its graphics, mechanics and presentation makes so many new Vr games look and feel last gen. And with Vr I really don't know which "gen" you'd say we're in. With Batman being exclusive to Vr the hope is that more people will hopefully give it a try. As a gamer period I understood. If Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad had been better games, and there was a sequel to the last Batman game before the passing of Kevin Conroy, non Vr gamers really wouldn't care about this Batman Vr game. If it reviews well along with the Aliens Vr game I'll be getting a Quest 3 to support Vr gaming even more.
The way how I see it is like 2013-17 VR was Atari. Cool little thing you could do but nothing substantial. Then 2019-21 is like NES with the Quest and Quest 2 since it got mainstream with people for VR. People called gaming a "Nintendo" People called VR a "quest" or "oculus" Now I'd say we're in Snes type lame where everyone knows where VR is but now we're getting bigger games with more big names from like 2021 to now. That's how I kinda see it
It looks good. But it’s just not a good idea to not release it on the quest 2 and steam. And maybe even PlayStation (I do think some vr games should get a flat version maybes added to the game a while after launch?)
Watched the gameplay trailer and it looked decent. Though having said that, I most likely won't be getting it - amalgamation of several factors I think; the price, lack of other meta quest 3 titles which grab my interest, and lastly, there being no room at my house to play this (yup, there's literally no room). But the story does keep me interested, and I do like that they're bringing characters back form Origins as well as new ones; I'm particularly interested in how Harvey Dent does pre Two Face days. So will probably watch the youtube videos of the story when it comes out. Following has no impact on me in any way, but I do wish it was on Meta Quest 2 as well for the whole commercial success. Cause, in their Q & A, there were couple of folks who asked whether this can be played on their Meta Quest 2, and the devs said it's just Meta Quest 3 exclusive. Having it in that one platform exclusive, I feel it's gonna be a bit of an uphill battle for them to reach commercial success. I do wish the devs the best of luck though.
if you have played a game that pushes the limits of the quest 2 hardware. those games chug along while looking nowhere close to this graphically. If it were to release on quest 2 it would've been a huge downgrade, and with how many flat gamers get all hissy after seeing the graphics on a quest games. I see why they locked it off. however I will be trying to sideload this on my quest 2 to see if I can run it at 30fps at the very least though advantages of having an open ecosystem lol

But at the end of the day, having it exclusive to one platform only I think will impact quite a bit on their sales (compared to being on multi platforms). And they're already in an uphill battle trying to convince people who don't own VR to try this out. Hence, I have a feeling this won't help them in terms of profitability. And in terms of graphical downgrade, I'm reminded of how bad Arkham Knight looks on Switch. Yet decent number of people bought it cause it was available on the Switch platform and they didn't have powerful enough console nor PC.

The games aren't PS4/PS5 level in graphics, but when you are actually inside the game the level of 3D depth and scale make up for some of its graphical shortcomings. I wish there were demos at retailers.
maybe you'll be interested in something. on quest3 there are/will be VR games: Assassin, Walking Dead, Madrunner, Iron Man, Star Wars, Green Hell, Hitman 3, Metro, Aliens, RE4, Half Life 1, Doom 3, FNAF, and a bunch of other VR franchises. and that's not to mention that if you connect a PC you can get even more

There is snap movement option in most vr games nowadays and it is good if you have motion sickness
Head-based turning and physically turning around instead of doing snap turn not only will that not get you sick, but it doesn’t break the emersion

Yes of course there are PC games that look better but a major thing to consider is budget. If there is enough funding and a good team of artists working on a title the Quest 3 is capable of so much.

I've been in vr for 8 yeaars, introduced it to many people, there were no one who haven't gotten their vr legs eventually. I've heard of people who got sick in cars, but even they're not a lost cause, because one of them is Alanah Pearce, the ex ign host, and she loves and plays vr despite all of that.
So no, as far as I'm concerned, motion sickness is not an issue.

Stationary games, where there's no artificial locomotion (like Beat Saber, the og Batman vr experience, or any tennis type game) or where you can teleport like Half-Life Alyx, Until You Fall, In Death, Robo Recall etc. So even if you think you have a motion sickness issue, you can still have a great time in vr.

I will literally get so nauseous that being said I have no problem with VR the first week. I would get a little dizzy after 30 minutes and have to take a break now I can play for hours

Personally, I think that Arkham Shadow is a return to form for the series. I know it's not a 'traditional' Arkham game, but objectively speaking, it does everything an Arkham game should: High quality Characters, story, lore, detail etc.
But for the series to continue healthily (especially post-Knight), Suicide Squad must be retconned to hell and back and replaced with an Arkham 5. Because prequel games will only suffice for so long.
I agree. What Sefton Hill and his fucking teenage-fat-redditor devs of SS:KTJL did to the Arkham-verse is outright not fair. A lot of character lore about Deadshot and Harley Quinn was rewritten just to appeal towards the Twitter Woke Community (who btw doesn't give a fuck about gaming, no matter if some games are LGBT-friendly or not, they just yap constantly without checking what's up here), which not only was that uber-disrespectful, but also fucking dumb.
I've heard that the current Rocksteady crew is planning to "return to the roots" of their career, but so far - I have heard nothing since.

It does explain why he left to make his own company (with old staff): Hundred Star games. As for modern Rocksteady: It's a shadow of its former self, as the new staff haven't a clue, and like you said: them and their buddies at Sweet Baby are more interested at pushing DEI than creating a fun game based on Merit.
@aaronhall9077 I'm afraid that you're wrong in some aspects, Sefton Hill himself decided to write the story that was generically based upon some Avengers lore, meaning that yes - SBI might had manipulated him somehow into doing that fucked up thing, but overall - most of the ideas like live-service, multiplayer-influenced seasons and other dumbest decisions were accepted by him or simply forced.
Also, he made a new studio, just to escape the backlash in regards of the game that has been spitted out of bullshit-worth diversity and other Corporate ball torture that I'drather not dive into. The GOAT Batman Arkham Videos himself made a video explaining the failure of that crappy game, so go check it out. You gotta do some scrolling but believe me, that's the real reason behind that failure.

@@mattbettcher7439 VR hardly seems like a fad at this point after almost 10 years since the Oculus Rift DK1 was released. It's since gone from strength to strength under Meta and others. This new generation of headsets is now nothing like the Virtual Boy of old as, among other things, it's actually useful for more than just gaming.

I like how it shows how it’s set between origins and asylum by Batman having a face like asylum and a bat suit like origins.

I am broke which is a shame because I was honestly hyped for this game since the first trailer. From the get go I realized it was handled with so much care and understanding of the Arkhamverse, more than SS:KTJL could ever be. This would be the first time I watch playthroughs of a game before experiencing it myself, but I am excited.

As a VR user, the problem with people who already have a quest isn't that it's a quest exclusive, but that it's a quest 3 exclusive. Imagine if the PS6 dropped 3 years after the PS5 and then announced an anticipated game that was exclusive to the PS6. I currently own a quest 2 and was already planning to get a quest 3, but Arkham Shadow kind of accelerated that.

If it was designed with the Quest 2 and 3 in mind, it would be more limited in scope, look worse and probably be largely underwhelming. Its a pretty reasonable trade off

when i first played the original arkham vr game it was visually stunning from inside the headset so i think graphics wont be an issue when you are actually in the game and fully immersed

I'm actually more excited about this vs a non VR release. I was top 10 on the leaderboards on 360 AA for many of the predator areas, number 1 on 2 of them. Hundreds of hours playing them but VR has me excited because its so different.

The only thing that really doesn't sell me on the game now is that VR headset exclusivity thing. I have the Quest 2 and don't really wanna fork out $500 for the Quest 3 quite yet. Maybe if we're lucky, they might run a promotion around the release to get the two bundled with the purchase of the headset. If that happens, that'll probably the biggest green light for me. I might still wait for reviews of the game just to be sure there is substance, but I'm sure that with the given gameplay it'll be a blast
If you live in the US I always see the Quest 3 as low as $300 on the used marketplace. There us a Quest 3S coming in Oct (maybe a package bundle with this game) that's going to be $300 but you it's going to have the same lenses as the Quest 2 but internal specs of the Quest 3

Dude this is just a 2D video which lacks any of the 3D, scale and plasticity that Vr offers. Plus the natural interaction / controls with your own hands instead of just pressing buttons looking through a window into a flat arkham like with the previous games.
unfortunately 2d gameplay videos will never justice vr gameplays, even the shittiest looking game can make you feel awesome while playing it in vr. Also people still think old vives, rift s or at best index they tried in their friends hosue when they are mentioned VR. they remember plastic fresnel lenses, cables, base trackers and a hefty pc. Now we have crystal clear pancake lenses, 2064 x 2208 per eye displays, inside out tracking, inside out fullbody tracking, handtracking, mixed reality passthrough in a single STANDALONE headset.

Gliding is in Arkham Shadow and it already exists in many other vr games for years. Play Stormland or Population 1 if you want to see how awesome gliding in Vr is.
Open world is also no Vr limitation as there are open world vr games, like again Stormland or Asgards Wrath 2. hell you can even play Skyrim in VR to make that game way better than it actually is just on a monitor (especially with some mods fixing Bethesdas lazy implementations). Batman Arkham Asylum wasnt Open World either btw. It was rocksteadys first arkham game and arkham shadow will follow the same style, which makes sense as its Camouflajs first arkham vr game. They can add an open world in an arkham shadow sequel just like rocksteady did with city to keep things fresh.
if this game is really successful but WB also sees how everyone wants another flat Arkham game, they might end up making one hybrid game playable both in flat and VR modes, like the newer resident evil games on PS5, or make a new flat game and also get camouflaj to make a direct sequel to this one, considering they are two different studios

hey, I can see your concerns about getting motion sick and I recommend playing more VR in preparation, this is something that you build up a tolerance for and can completely overcome with some effort, don't push yourself too much just try a little more every day and one day you'll realize you have completely grown your VR legs, there's also a lot of tips online which you might wanna check out

My only problems with the game is 1 i cant get a meta quest 3 because of the price and 2 i cant play vr without getting a really bad headache, i wish they couldve released the game as a standard format arkham title but have it be compatible with vr for a more immersive experience

I have a vision disability that prevents me from playing VR games, I loved all the Arkham games and am a huge Batman fanboy and it kills me I won’t be able to play this.
Is it a stigmatism l? I'm vision impaired as well and have a slight stigmatism (eyes shake a lot especially when focusing on something and see a lot of eye worms among other stuff) but for me VR is the best for me because of how close I can get to stuff and how high the resolution is helps as well compared to on watching a screen

Honestly would be really nice to play this on quest 2. Assassins Creed Nexus is an amazing experience, I recommend that game to anyone. And honestly just play until you start to feel sick than stop. Then play the next day and you’ll build a tolerance, at least I did just for AC Nexus.
The entire point of this game is that it's the first one to properly fully utilise the quest 3s abilities that's why it's a quest 3 exclusive it straight up wouldn't work with a quest 2
I've had this idea that the Switch successor will have a VR mode. If true, this game could come out on it as well, along with perhaps PSVR2. If it did, I'd be all in. Also the trailer does have me intrigued in terms of how it plays now. More than the original teaser did anyway.

a cheaper quest 3 lite with quest 2 optics but quest 3 processing power will be released around the time batman is released for much cheaper than a quest 3 (around 250-350 dollars, nothing has been confirmed)

The quest 3S is coming out soon which you’ll definitely be able to play this on, also the quest 2 is only £200 but you won’t be able to play this on it.

When this game was announced I didn't understand all the hate, the Arkham games are probably my favorite game series of all time, yes I would rather get a full actual Arkham game but as someone who owns a quest 3 I didn't understand why people were acting as if it would be a bad game just because it wasn't what they wanted.

Unless you’re quadriplegic, I can’t think of one condition that could prevent you from playing this system because it’s in VR. Almost every VR game offers a seated mode and comfort setting as far as motion sickness goes if your new VR in the beginning, you’re gonna have to play shorter sessions until you get your VR legs once you do it’s no longer an issue at all.

It's gonna be semi-open world. No sidequests apparently, but you move between missions in an open world with collectibles in it.
I see people mentioning how much worse the graphics are than something like Arkham Knight which is an absolute no-brainer. Duh. To what people don't realize that clearly are not fans of VR is that immersion is superior. The graphics on this are actually going to look a lot better than people are thinking once on their head, but they added immersion is really what it's going to take or come to a new level. As a fan of Resident Evil, I can never play a non-vr Resident Evil again because it's just so damn good being IN the game

Tbf you can do more then just play VR games on Quest. I honestly use it as a mini computer. I used it on a plane to write out a Microsoft Word document and it worked great! After that I watched a 3D movie and darkened everything around me and made it a huge movie theatre like experience and I love doing that. I'm glad that some people seem to like this VR edition of Batman, but this just isn't for me the gameplay looks really bad due to the limitations of VR I'm personally disappointed with this Arkham game due to the main villain just being a rat dude and the game being VR even if this game wasn't VR the plot so far seems really bad this is another DC game that I will be avoiding as it doesn't meet expectations of what a good Batman game should be.

Batman Arkham is my favourite superhero gaming series of all time, and after so many years without a new mainline Arkham game for console, this is just kinda a slap in the face imo. I like that game but there's 2 things that need be fixed.
Batsuit concept looks like edited arkham knight suit, the texture metallic maps are low especially on that vr gear. Basically suit need better lighting reflection.
Combat is very dope adaptation from classic arkham games but the Batman movement of combat is less realistic comparing to the real life fight, for example Batman move 5 meters away to hit the thug

I have 5 Vr headsets..Index,Rift, Psvr1, G2, and Psvr2. Out of all my gaming systems the Vr platform needs the most wins 🏆 right now not later. In my own personal opinion the last great Vr software win was and still is Half Life Alyx ‼️Its graphics, mechanics and presentation makes so many new Vr games look and feel last gen. And with Vr I really don't know which "gen" you'd say we're in. With Batman being exclusive to Vr the hope is that more people will hopefully give it a try. As a gamer period I understood. If Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad had been better games, and there was a sequel to the last Batman game before the passing of Kevin Conroy, non Vr gamers really wouldn't care about this Batman Vr game. If it reviews well along with the Aliens Vr game I'll be getting a Quest 3 to support Vr gaming even more.
The way how I see it is like 2013-17 VR was Atari. Cool little thing you could do but nothing substantial. Then 2019-21 is like NES with the Quest and Quest 2 since it got mainstream with people for VR. People called gaming a "Nintendo" People called VR a "quest" or "oculus" Now I'd say we're in Snes type lame where everyone knows where VR is but now we're getting bigger games with more big names from like 2021 to now. That's how I kinda see it
I just wish it was on pc vr. Limiting it to just the Quest 3 is pretty stupid
It looks good. But it’s just not a good idea to not release it on the quest 2 and steam. And maybe even PlayStation
(I do think some vr games should get a flat version maybes added to the game a while after launch?)
Watched the gameplay trailer and it looked decent.
Though having said that, I most likely won't be getting it - amalgamation of several factors I think; the price, lack of other meta quest 3 titles which grab my interest, and lastly, there being no room at my house to play this (yup, there's literally no room).
But the story does keep me interested, and I do like that they're bringing characters back form Origins as well as new ones; I'm particularly interested in how Harvey Dent does pre Two Face days.
So will probably watch the youtube videos of the story when it comes out.
Following has no impact on me in any way, but I do wish it was on Meta Quest 2 as well for the whole commercial success. Cause, in their Q & A, there were couple of folks who asked whether this can be played on their Meta Quest 2, and the devs said it's just Meta Quest 3 exclusive.
Having it in that one platform exclusive, I feel it's gonna be a bit of an uphill battle for them to reach commercial success.
I do wish the devs the best of luck though.
if you have played a game that pushes the limits of the quest 2 hardware. those games chug along while looking nowhere close to this graphically. If it were to release on quest 2 it would've been a huge downgrade, and with how many flat gamers get all hissy after seeing the graphics on a quest games. I see why they locked it off.
however I will be trying to sideload this on my quest 2 to see if I can run it at 30fps at the very least though

@@Phantomdude I haven't played nor do I own any VR games (hence why I said "no impact on me in any way" lol).
But at the end of the day, having it exclusive to one platform only I think will impact quite a bit on their sales (compared to being on multi platforms).
And they're already in an uphill battle trying to convince people who don't own VR to try this out. Hence, I have a feeling this won't help them in terms of profitability.
And in terms of graphical downgrade, I'm reminded of how bad Arkham Knight looks on Switch. Yet decent number of people bought it cause it was available on the Switch platform and they didn't have powerful enough console nor PC.
@@CoolGuyJ84 I know this gets thrown around a lot but the videos on RUclips or flat screens do not do justice at all for how games look in VR. The games aren't PS4/PS5 level in graphics, but when you are actually inside the game the level of 3D depth and scale make up for some of its graphical shortcomings. I wish there were demos at retailers.
maybe you'll be interested in something. on quest3 there are/will be VR games: Assassin, Walking Dead, Madrunner, Iron Man, Star Wars, Green Hell, Hitman 3, Metro, Aliens, RE4, Half Life 1, Doom 3, FNAF, and a bunch of other VR franchises. and that's not to mention that if you connect a PC you can get even more
