  • Found a great place for 180's at the local park and tried to carve around the bowl section. The carving is really awkward and will definitely take a lot of work for me. Took a massive slam when my knee gave out and have been limping for days now, but it didn't hurt my sprained finger!

Wow your son really looks like you! 👍👍Nice father and son time out there. I'm skating with my 9 year old these days. The 16 year old doesn't like skating at all.

I have 4 boys and they all like different things, which has been a lot of fun for me. My oldest and I rock climbed and lifted weights while he lived at home, the next oldest we did Spartan races, trail races, and still mountain bike and ride motorcycles together, Seth and I inline skate, and my youngest is a theater kid, so I get to go see his performances. I try to never push my kids into something just because I like it, and it has been really cool to see how they each gravitate to different activities. There is nothing worse to me than seeing a parent pushing their kids into sports just so they can try and relive their glory days. I have always tried to model a healthy and active lifestyle, and hope that rubs off on them as adults.

@@theaverageoldguy Nice! Yeah my older one got into rock climbing. I was doing it last year and I took him climbing and now he boulders alone with his buddies, lol.

@@AWS-Blading Mine went the opposite way, we climbed and bouldered together, then he quit to concentrate on weight lifting, so I bouldered alone for a while. I just recently sold all my climbing gear, so I am out of that now.

@@theaverageoldguy I may sell all my gear as well. I didnt climb at all this summer. The crag is too far away for me to get too with my limited time these days. But skateparks are everywhere here in Toronto.😃

Riding a bike has help strengthen my knee. Muscle instead of the stressing?

I do ride both road and mountain bikes and also lift weights to help the strength. Its advanced arthritis that causes the pain, and its getting harder to manage at my age after a lifetime of abuse.

“You know, of course, that in most parts of the world, pain is a 2nd language. People understand it better than words, because you can get right to the point. But in this country, we don't really have very much pain. So the 2nd language is money.”
“Naturally, you expect to receive money for what you [show]. Instead of pain. How ironic.” -Capt. Real Estate aka Maynard, as portrayed by G. Gordon Liddy (1930-2021)

Ha! Yeah I understand that language quite well my friend. As the only other living soul who was there the day it began, you know what knee pain I'm talking about!

That, my friend, definitely makes us OLD…
