@ 5:35 - Evidently some have been getting ESC's with the coveted YELLOW wire used for thrust reverse. This is GREAT NEWS! If yours comes with it, by all means, use it! Unfortunately, we didn't get one ;( Sorry for any misunderstandings we may have caused...still an AMAZING plane! Get one today and support us here - bprc.me/FMS_Viper
I always flip the battery upside down so the Velcro sticks to the battery straps rather than the Velcro at the bottom of the tray. That way it has all of the benefits of Velcro (battery won't slide around) without being hard to remove.
Brian, You mentioned wishing the Viper has a reversing ESC. It does! The throttle cable has an extra JR connector to reverse the motor and you can turn on reversing in the ESC braking. Check out ESC programming in the manual. - Joe
I do not have one. I have already checked mine and it didn't come with the Yellow wire. I know what you're talking about, but it wasn't there. We've done this on a bunch of planes, but ours didn't have it. ESC Programming has nothing to do with thrust revers, it has to do with CHANGING the direction of rotation. This is not to be confused with the Avian setup, which is done from SERIAL COMMANDS through the Transmitter. This is a different setup. When the Predator ESC has the option for Thrust Reverse, you just use the single yellow wire on any free channel's port, on the signal pin. It's super easy, and we've shown this several times. It's possible that FMS is NOW offering it, but we DIDN'T have it. Hope this helps.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Okay, thanks Brian. I just got my Viper last week and it does have the extra wire. So I guess they listened to you. You do have to enable the function in the ESC programming though. You set braking for "Reverse Brake". The manual says after enabling this option, the reverse brake signal wire must be plugged into a vacant channel of the receiver. The channel range of 0-50% spins the motor in the normal direction; 51-100% spins the motor in the reverse direction. Unfortunately, I only have a 6 channel receiver in it so I can't test it yet but sometime in the future, I'll upgrade the receiver and report back. Thanks for the great videos and thank the "camera crew" too!
@BrianPhillipsRC you are a very good pilot. I am impressed even though you screw up sometimes. Just like I do. It shows your human side and that you are not afraid to show your blunders. That is the sign of a true champion!
Just bought one. so first choice to watch an amazing review…… is Of course Brian Phillips Rc . As usual you did not disappoint. Thanks both special thanks to camera crew , perfect as usual. Jeff 🇬🇧
A decade of fun....figured you grew out of the neighborhood. Great job on preaching it's because of you I still have expensive wall art. Baby steps beaten up my 3 first...Rebel,F5 tiger...soon Baehawk. I have the 90...I love the livery on it. If I purchase it will be through your channel. 👏👏👍
Awesome, wish this was available 3 months ago, had to upgrade my E-Kite Viper 70mm with FMS Avanti 70mm landing gear set not nearly as nice as these Oleo struts but still an enhancement. Plus, the bump up to an 80A ESC is nice.
Great looking and flying Viper jet. The trailing link nose gear solves the bouncing landing issues. Glad you show the tip stalls ergo not a good first jet. Excellent review! Thank you!
Hi Brian! Great videos!! I noticed on on other flight videos they show the Viper V2 70mm !5th as having a REVERSE THRUST option if you have the extra channel.
We did NOT have the additional YELLOW wire on our ESC. If the "Other guys" added that feature via an upgraded ESC, an AVIAN ESC, then they might be able to ADD thrust reverse, but we didn't have it on ours. Which channel? We showed the ENTIRE Unbox, Build, and Radio Setup, and you can see what we had there - ruclips.net/video/lNbbYGE7PP8/видео.html
Thanks Brian… yeah it’s strange. Fritz at Hobby View said the reverse thrust yellow lead came with the basic kit maybe FMS added that just recently. Totally dig your videos !! Keep up the good work!
I just re-checked, we don't have the yellow wire ;(.... We had an EARLY release offering, so maybe they ran short on the ESC's with the Reverse Thrust???? Whatever the case, if they changed part way through a production run, or if ours was early, and different for that reason, still an AMAZING PLANE!!!! P.S. Yes, I went all the way back to the ESC. We had just the RED, WHITE, and BLACK (Futaba servo cable). In our experience, the yellow wire is run parallel on this red white and black, AND yellow...but there may be some other Predator ESC's out there that are setup differently. When and if we see one, we'll share it. Thanks for the heads up! bprc.me/FMS_Viper
Awesome way to start off the day with a cup of coffee and some brian phillips flying and shenanigans 😂 🤌🏼 I have been wanting an edf but just kinda scared to pull the trigger on something however.....this might be the one🤔✌🏽
Excellent Brian been sitting on the fence for this one waiting for your valued opinion on it. I'm gona get me one. Love the eflite version and I don't the Dubro mod as per ur suggestion. I did also change the motor for the 1900kv. So it's almost the same as the fms one. But that livery is awesome. I need one in my hanger!!
Hi Brian! Great video and flights! I´m about to order one to practice for the bigger FMS Viper 90mm I ordered with LEDs xD As you saw I´m still practicing with my smaller Futura 64mm and having lots of fun when it´s not windy. I stalled the Futura and my V1 Avanti 70 on a windy day but probably I had not practiced enough and I was alone at our club too. From reading a landing tutorial on the web I came to the video of Horizon (Machinchi?) landing the Viper 70mm after a tight turn to burn out speed with full flaps and after that I got flashed with this small(er) Viper xD I would be a try to change ESC to an Vgood or Mantis 8S and give her a try on 7S too xD Or 7S LiIon 4500mAh which should weight around 630g soldered. Not much more than your 4000 6S... just thinkit out loud :P Best regards from southern east Bavaria!
That Smart 6s 4000 50c weighs 625g, it seems to handle it just fine. The SMC 6s 3600 weighs 491g I saw another tuber Flying with. My Roaring TOP 6s 3700 70c weighs 580g. Good to know she can handle the weight. That's Bry.!
Hi Brian I see you have the clear plastic still on some of nx10 except the main screen I recently got a nx10 screen protector pack of 3 same as mobile screen protector from Germany yes they make them at a good price with clear or anti glare but anti glare is a bit blurry so I opted for clear check them out I think everyone would like to know about them cheers Rick
To brian Phillips. I know this one isn't the commander 1.4m but with a dx6e can I set it up to where I have a desired switch to put it in an out of safe mode or as3x
Oh My My! Looks good. Sounds great. Right size for my needs. "If" I go Jet one day, that girl would be it. Great Flight. Camera Crew did another amazing job. I have an extra Reflex V2, is there room for it? Cheers!
The FMS F-18F is awesome. Flies very well. I put a 6s 4000 pack in mine and get 4 min flights easy. Lands nicely with flaps and the gear provides plenty of shock absorbtion. Only drawback are the decals FMS provides are not the best. Fortunately you can get some nice schemes from Callie Graphics.
Hi Brain I got a question for you sir . Can I use my spektrum ar637t it's a bnf receiver from my carbon z Cub in another aircraft just using my NX8 forward programming of do I have to unlock it first ?
Great video as always! I'm thinking about getting my first ever plane soon thanks to your videos. Do you recommend I start with the Eflite simulator to learn all the controls?
Hey Brian, had a NEWBIE question lol, im looking at getting this jet and I am curious can i just buy a Flysky 6channel transmitter with reciever & plug and play? Thank you so much if you get to this, looking at taking to the skies!!
Chalk ans cheese. Prop has instant thrust edf takes a moment for it to build. Prop pushes air over its control surfaces at any speed. Edf needs speed to push air over them.
They stall way easier. You have to add power before you stall. With a prop plane you can add power during the stall and be fine. If your not high enough with the def and stall it falls quick
Hi Brian, I'm from Chile, I bought that same plane and it looks fabulous, I wanted to know if you could share the configuration file with me so I can import it into my TX, is it possible?
Brian, besides the oleos does this viper feel any different from the HH Viper 70? Great vid thx. Nice to see you roll out without thrust reverse. Fly Great!

I waited 2 months for the bird to be back in stock. Assembled and programmed last night and maiden today. Seems to be very good quality.

I wish you would cover the price of each plane. That’s a awesome jet, right up my alley.
Price is always changing. As soon as I show pricing, it'll be wrong, then people get mad at us, since we can't update stuff like that in the video.
Got my 15 anniversary Viper a few days ago. Hoping to fly it Monday. Going to install my DJI 03 air unit and motionsic gimbal for FPV. Can’t wait!

Just watched the RUclips ad for this plane yesterday. Really looking forward to this BP RC review!! 👍
Great looking and flying Viper jet. The trailing link nose gear solves the bouncing landing issues. Glad you show the tip stalls ergo not a good first jet. Excellent review! Thank you!
That is a lot of jet and not much run way. Good job Brian. Harder than it looks to slow em down in a small place
Thanks, and yes! Love flying the viper!

The Camera Crew deserves an award for her video skills exhibited on this one. Awesome job covering those fast passes and making viewers sick. 👍👍

Holy smokes. Never flown and you say it's good beginner EDF shoot I'm on board.... 🥳🥳😝
I ordered one it should be here tomorrow
Great video Brian ❤
Your first flight was good, but as you said number two was amazing!😂
Wow,, that thing moves. I have the e flite viper 70mm and I love it but the fms version is awesome. I want one 😍
It's all made by fms just rebrand
Eid Mubarak
Very cool!!!
Sure is!
I'm really keen to see the video where Brian tries to control his cat with his transmitter.
Amazing video
I like the sound of this EDF. It sounds almost like a turbine.
Totally does!!!

I’m so mad! I just bought the eflite viper 70 a month ago as my first edf and now they release an upgraded version!
I'm going to get it asap.
It is very good!
Very nice!
Is it worth changing the tires out of Dubro Low Bounce? or Unnecessary with the suspension landing gear? Mine has Reverse Thrust, with the Avian ESC!
Big fan
I'm going to take a good look. I'm a fms fan. Compared to the 80mm bae hawk, which one is better?

atfolex FX screen protector
I do, but only because it's a pain to pull them off ;)
Try some steeper approaches. If you flare from a steep approach, it bleeds off speed faster.
Will these gear fit the eflite 70mm version
I want to answer with more information, but just take my word for it and wait till Thursday....can't say anymore
To brian Phillips. I know this one isn't the commander 1.4m but with a dx6e can I set it up to where I have a desired switch to put it in an out of safe mode or as3x
Brian is the gain control automatically set to that know on top? Or did you set that.
No, I think we have to set it up in AS3X Gain Control Channel...or some such thing IN the Forward Programming menu for AS3X first time setup.
NIIIICE 👌🏻
Horizon new Turbines? They should give you a loaner to show us their new product *wink*
I ordered it and have it now. Just need to maiden it. Do you feel it flys better than the original?
I don't think it flies any better than the EFlite, but it has better landing gear for sure!
Please share your high rates settings. I followed whats in the manual but I feel that the high rates are not enough for me
I’m a beginner- can I fly 100 MPH? And will my plane sound that cool before it hits my house?
LOL - YES it will!!!!!
Oh My My! Looks good. Sounds great. Right size for my needs. "If" I go Jet one day, that girl would be it. Great Flight. Camera Crew did another amazing job. I have an extra Reflex V2, is there room for it? Cheers!
Honest question. If you could pick between the Viper 70mm, or the 90mm. Which one one you pick for a first 6s edf. Price isn’t a factor. Thanks
How does it compare to the YAK-130 V2 70mm?
Hi Brian, amazing video. One question: Can you tell me, where i can bought a sd card for the nx10 transmitter that works? TX an kind regards, Daniel
will it work on grass strip?
Really digging the videos! Any chat you would make one on the FMS f18 70mm?
Really love the sound of it but want some real world opinions on it.

Does anyone fly EDFs without a gyro or is a gyro a must?
Careful!

I think you're having a few too many Amaaaazing number 2's.😂 I'm guessing fibre isn't an issue for you? 😂😂😂

Kind of looks like it should have a full integrated weapons system on it. Lol under cover military attack bird
❤❤❤
How fast? I’m guessing 120mph, nope 130mph!!!
115mph is what I clocked on mine. To get 130 u need the viper 90.
It's all made by fms eflites viper same thing

Haha, I’ve never liked the Viper. Get a Rafale, be happier.
