I personally don't spend a lot and also lazy to keep track of reward points and miles. So I am team cashback. Thanks for sharing the video, I also have miles card sitting around collecting dust, maybe if I need to make a big purchase, it might be worth using the miles card.
I got 2 cards. Dbs livefresh 5% cash back, once I reach the monthly cap, the remainder goes to citi premier miles. Chose Premier miles as it has no expiry. Any large one off purchases also goes to Premier miles. Premier miles also give free lounge access and free travel insurance
Switched to team miles since 2019, this year able to get 2 x economy flights to Penang and 5 x free business class tickets for family trip to BKK, got enjoyed the SKL airport lounge as well as KF Gold lounge.
For citibank miles dont expire. But the points to redeem miles or any products on their catalog do expires. Points in this case for citibank (thankyou points) can be exchange for miles to prevent it from expired. Also for citi points tho they state 5 years before it expired, what they meant is the day u start using ur card. 5 years later all ur points will expire, even if u spend on the 4th year, 1 year later still expire
Was team cashback initially but found the caps and limits too complicated to keep track. Swapped to team miles and never looked back. It's much easier to keep track of a single cap.
Citibank and standard chartered ghave the most airline partners compared to the other banks which most have less than 5 partners (including exp SIA). There are cheaper airline you can redeem tix compared to SIA like EVA air or thai airways
Hi Kelvin! Thanks for the insight! Apart from cc you mentioned, I'm also using OCBC Frank card, up to 6% rebate thou there's a min $600 spending and cap at $25 for each category (eg. online / Samsung pay). But the category is wider and easier for me to fulfil.
Met a friend who is from team miles and he spent his miles on SIA first class dining cause he can’t travel during pandemic loll. Along with the frequent devaluation of miles on krisflyer there is really too much risk being on team miles. Team cash back ftw
