    Just purchased the D Celtic Minor based off of your review so thank you! Love your videos. Was a hard decision between that and the B Celtic Minor double ding, but the slightly more cheerful sound of the D Celtic won me over. It's being added to my current collection (handpan - E major - Acolyte Instruments, and a RAV C Golden Gate). Eying a handpan in Hijaz and/or RAV Arabian Night next. Have a feeling that I'm going to run out of room for RAV instruments at some point. :)

    got mine few days ago with the same blue and black rope and i can only say this is the best gift i ever got for my birthday which is in 2 weeks from today and i bought that gift myself. i was so happy when i saw fedex van i was 3m above the ground when i got the package.
    this thing is just beautiful. it really is. next thing i noticed it vibrates so long if you hit the notes a bit harder. even if you want to stop it.... you still feel the vibration. something i did not expect at all.
    and the last thing i noticed is.... my motorics is just crap. my left hand can only hold my sandwich and steeringwheel.
    is there any method to get in touch with other fingers too?? i mean..... i never played any instrument and my fingers are rusty if i can say so. how can i practice my coordination and mobility of my fingers? i can really not control my fingers in my left arm. only full palm. but i love my rav so much and i will learn it somehow

    Thank you so much for all your comments & instructions, & your beautiful planying of these instruments. You have helped me to sort everything out in deciding what I want, even from between a Pan and the Rav Vast.
    What I really want is a F minor in the Rav but of course they do not & will not make that scale. They are going to make at a later time the Rav in a 432 Hz because of their many requests. I will be getting a D Celtic minor in 432 Hz when they become available.
    I also in my emails to them mentioned you and told them you are how I found them. When I order I will be sure to use your link so you will get credit, and I will get a discount!
    I will continue to listen to you and I am sure will benefit from your instruction when I finally in the future get my Rav Vast.
    Not quite sure about the bold blue I wish it was more of a metallic with a variation of color. I liked the greenish metallic one they may before more.
    Thanks again, you are appreciated. Debra

      Hey Debra, We constantly working on a new scales. We're going to announce a couple of them soon. We would say we're going to show at least 4 new scales in 2021. And some scales are in 432hz. We started with D Celtic. Stay tuned, will post it soon.

    Something important he forgot to say, is that the very majority of the handpans are tuned in D ! That means you won't have to much issues playing with D Kurd or D Amara that are veeeery commun scales...

    • @ReWildYourSoul
      @ReWildYourSoul 3 года назад +2

      Yes! That is very true, having this scale allows you to play with the numerous D minor scales in the handpan world! Good thought!

    The Celtic ones have a really beatuful scale.
    Thanks Ricky for playing. The first play was pretty much the same as Hegemony just adapted to D Celtic scale, right?

    I love the melody around 4:30 soo much, it really resonates with me. I tried to play it on my d celtic but there is still missing something and I can't figure out what it is 😅 Anyways thank you for sharing it and kind regards from switzerland!😊

      With some creativity, most scales have atleast a note or two that can work in a diad combination! There are a few apps available for chord progressions that allow you to plug in your notes, and choose the chords that work with what you have!

    I just want to know should I go with the D or the B Celtic. Thinking the D since you said this one is higher pitched. Always appreciative of your efforts.

      There are many variations, but the one that I have heard go nicely with this scale are G Pygmy and A Integral 😉

    I just got my D Celtic Minor. Beautiful, but this is taking much more of a finger strike than I anticipated. Can be hard on the fingers. A soft mallet brings out the sound nicely, but would rather play freehanded - I think that would be more expressive. Any advice?

    • @choschiba
      @choschiba 2 года назад +1

      I own the Minor Pentatonic G. I thought it‘s almost impossible to strike the higher notes because I have rheumatoid arthritis in my 🙌 hands. Now I am taking an online class and learned that it is rather the technique than the strength. In the meantime I am able to strike all the tongues without any problems at in order to make them sing loudly. I’m so happy 😃

    Thank you, I wonder when they will be coming up with a new colour. The matte blue is just too solid a colour. It just does not fit instrument. The last ones they made were much better. They need to be Alluring.

    • @RAVVastSteelTongueDrum
      @RAVVastSteelTongueDrum  3 года назад

      What are your ideas about colour?

    • @hooblabity9494
      @hooblabity9494 3 года назад +1

      @@RAVVastSteelTongueDrum if I understand correctly the blue is a protective coating, but I think a lot of people like the look and feel of the steel better. The blue coating makes it look similar to a lot of lower-end painted tongue drums but the naked steel makes it look and feel similar to higher-end handpans. Maybe you could come up with a coating that is shiny instead of matte to give it that feel? Or maybe going with a grey/silver coating would give it that feel too? Just my thoughts.

    Hi! What is the decibel range on the Rav Vast? I just want to play in my living room, but I'm pretty sensitive to high volumes.

    • @EsotericHighway
      @EsotericHighway 3 года назад

      Have you ever looked into musician ear plugs? They're great, they lower the decibel volume without sacraficing the sound quality. You can even get custom made ones.
      Also, when it comes to the rav, part of the volume has to do with how hard you hit the instrument. You could def play it softer if you wanted to..

    • @VladK-1
      @VladK-1 3 года назад

      You can play it quietly if you wish. Obviously, it takes some skill to do so consistently-same as with piano and other instruments.
