Hey Everyone, these new molds are now available on my website, ArtByAdrock.com. I had to point out that I’ve noticed a lot of people are pre heating their graphite molds way too much and then wondering why they aren’t getting good results or they are falling apart. You really shouldn’t ever have to heat your molds at all UNLESS you get them wet. You will get better detail and results if you mold is cooler and it will last much longer. In the video you’ll see a photo of a mold someone destroyed because I’m guessing he put it in a kiln or furnace and then complained because it didn’t last long enough. That is NOT how they are meant to be used. Hopefully this tip will help some of you out. Also, If you have ideas of new molds that you’d like me to make available, leave a comment and let me know. Enjoy and I’ll see you all in the next one! 👍🏻
I really enjoying your videos you always teaching out things of good and bad information to your audience and i am one of them who learn things from you, thank you for your sharing
I'm curious - have you melted/poured silver into graphite molds? I did a year or so ago and I found the hotter the mold was the better the silver poured. Silver just "sets up" so quick especially if poured into a cold mold. The warmer they got the better the result. I've been lucky to have my molds last and even bought a couple from you - great quality molds for sure.
Right? Zinc isn't a proper test. You end up with so many pour lines it's not even funny when pouring copper or silver. I agree they don't need to be red hot, but pouring copper or silver in a cold mold....😮 I've seen it pop back on Backyard Scrapping.
I know it probably isn’t good for business but I’d love to see the process of turning a 3D design into a mold at some point. That flag mold turned out great and I’ll definitely have to grab one the next time I order from your site!
Zinc is such a user-friendly metal to pour and work with - it just loves being poured into molds. Any chance of you doing a Han Solo in carbonite ingot mold based off of the plastic one which comes with the original Slave 1 spaceship toy?
Cool and hey I have brass bullet shells. I’ve been saving if you come over Koosharem Utah, I will give them to you and pay I think if someone is reloading bullets for fun for hunting or shooting game I just give them away. That’s my hobby.

The coins came out great, I like the Raiders one
Glad to see you stopped pre-heating your molds, especially with a propane torch.
Thanks for the graphite mold lesson, I had no clue about the heating of them like always great info.

Nice coins👏👏
Really good
if you give the mould a jiggle with tongs right after pouring, you get a cool pattern on the back
I never understand why People over heat their molds! I still have a set of ingot molds I ordered in 2017
This video is similar to BigstackD's style, Maybe next time you can melt some scrap aluminum into nice ingots.
