I've watched so many settings videos as a first time iPhone user since I got a 12 at the start of the month, and this is the first I've watched that tackles these minor usage and privacy settings that are so important. I don't want to be tracked and my privacy invaded all day, and thank god you guys showed me all these niche settings to undo that.

As an ex iOS user from 3 years ago and now I'm back, A fair bit has changed, or at least added, and is certainly different to Andriod, so the "show you as we tell you" aspect is a nice change than just being yelled at as if navigating iOS is 2nd nature to every viewer.

Good job you two👏🏽👏🏽

    • @BobK5

These are encrypted at both ends, Apple says that they cannot be read by them, and who is interested in where you’ve been anyway, I don’t mean that in an offensive way but think about it, why would anyone care, unless you’re having an affair of course or a criminal? Your data and wi fi provider knows where you are, your neighbours and colleagues probably know where you are, you can’t live hidden out of site with or without technology. But more seriously, turning this off increases battery usage as for one thing battery optimisation won’t be enabled, it’s there as a benefit to you not a monster.

@5:00 you should also turn off Control Center. If your phone is stolen you can track it with Find my iPhone - but if Control Center is allowed to be accessed when the phone is locked The thief can turn your phone off and you won’t be able to track it anymore. You cannot turn off the iPhone if the phone is locked and you’re not able to get to the control center.

Thank you very much! This was SO useful! I just switched my phone model, so I m a first-time iOS user. Everything is new and pretty daunting when first moving from Android services. This was extremely helpful and will aid me in preserving the condition of my phone!

Really helpful video; just got a new iphone, and your videos have helped me so much. One of the best RUclips channels I've ever found. So helpful. Thank you!

I only get a new phone when I have no other option. This was very helpful in reminding me what I'd turned off on my old iPhone and the new things I didn't know about. Much appreciated!!
