- The sixth generation of the BMW 5 Series the (F10) debuted 23 November 2009 as a 2010 model. The Station Wagon/Touring version carries the chassis code F11, while the Gran Turismo hatchback style is known by F07. This chassis is shared with the 7 Series (F01) and the 6 Series (F12/F6).

When your gear on Drive and you forget, open the door and move your foot from brake pedal it will be move to Park automatically.. cool feature BMW 👍
Why would you forget that you are driving the car , when you are driving it ?
I guess you don't need to depress the button in order to move to Drive from Neutral. You only need to depress the Unlock when moving out of Park or engaging Reverse

can you describe difference between two design joystick gear shifter ( preLCI and LCI )? that is same 8 gear ? or 6 gear and 8 gear for LCI?

When I did Manual down shift while going 10mph from 2 to 1 and the transmission made a horrible noise and I got scared

Question, mine got damaged by my 3 yr old, pushing it like crazy…so I have a used shifter from EBay for my X5, is it possible to install it myself?? Does it need any sort of programming?? Or is it plug and play???

How do you move back to D (drive mode) when you are on Manual using the paddles? I changed to Neutral and than to D, but I guess there is something easier than that....
Just press the + Paddle for a longer time(3 sec) and it will go back to D

It’s kinda hard in the bmw during the Mitsubishi eclispe cross because my car is manual and I have a automatic transmission and when ever I shift it I kinda wonder if I should get a bmw or not?
if you need to ask if you should get a fucking bmw over a mitsubishi , then you re better off with a mitsubishi. Bmw actualy need good drivers.

There is a hidden key for that .. I don't know were is it tho .. But insert the key and vola

Yes, but in M/S if you press it will switch to manual mode
how to use the manual mode when the car is actually on the go?? when is the best time to change gear?
depends on your driving style and road or situation for quick overtaking and mountain roads its quite good. I usually use it for 2 lane each way roads to overtake big trucks or on the mountains when going down so the engine keeps the cars from accelerating thus using less to none brakes instead of wasting the brakes or heating them.

There's no clutch its automatic

Okay I have watched 3 of these instructional vids and good job explaining. But why in the world would you want to pretend to shift? Driving a manual is so, so much fun and makes the experience so interactive that I can not wrap my brain around why this shortcut is so popular. Is learning to use a clutch that hard.....When the car won't let you do anything wrong, it will automatically not allow you to go into the wrong gear, you are not really in manual are you? It needs to be called something else and I suppose manual lovers would give it a less than nice name. Thanks for the great job, you did a great job.....but the car, not so much.
don t drive automatic then...I love manuals 10000 times more even though I m young and should like automatics, but it is what it is. Atleast the zf in my beemer shifts faster than I could ever do .
my shift knob won't do what yours did after it parks. it just blinks the "P" button.. help?
