The potato, pea and carrot curry sounded so good, I think I'm going to have a go at coming up with my own recipe for it to eat with some Nan! Much love to you, enjoy your day! xo
Glad you liked it Stephanie!! Haha yes that huge card mix and match menu was amazing! I have never seen another one like it. so smart! I am trying to think where in the world people would eat Nan bread with hummous, that is a GREAT thought! And wow, what a tasty combo!! :) :) Hmm... have you been somewhere where you saw this? I am sure its a good food, but I am just always curious to know "Who is the person that eats THIS as their daily meal??" That is literally one of the larger reasons that I travel actually, answering that simple question :)
@@JoelsTastyRide one of my co-workers was eating chips that look like a fried nan or fried tortilla, with hummus so I got the idea to actually try it with nan and it's delicious! Give it a go sometime! :)

Hi Joel!! For years I nannied for an Indian family. The best thing I ever ate was a fried potato and tapioca dumpling of sorts. Have you ever tried such a thing? No idea what it is called!! Indian food is one of my favorites 🙂 I absolutely loved this video. Blessings for you and everyone 💕 this inspired me to make milky chai tea 😀
In Fresno, CA, USA there are a significant number of Punjab, I love seeing how much they love where they are and how entrepreneurial they are. There are some very significant centers in our town. They add so much to our community in every way, elected officials in our representative society get a voice, they make my community very much like Mae Sot.
🌼🌸🌼🌸🌼🌸Beautiful ‘food’ story. The owner was super kind to take the time and give ‘us’ a little on her story. Blessings to her. And yes,- be careful with the hot tea 🌸🌸🌼.
Yes it was awesome Kelly, I couldnt believe how cool, how simple but also really so special, her love of her own town's bread recipe ignited this dream of opening her own business and restaurant :). ah, so cool. And hey, the food was really, really good, ahaha so the story makes it even SO much better! Hope youre having a great Monday so far, when you wake up and read this, make it a good one! A good day, and a good week. See you for the next one!!
Hi bro , this is just amazing. I never knew there were Indians living and running business in Thailand. You are actually opening Thailand to the world.
I LOVE Indian food! My husband is Indian, his mother’s and grandmother’s cooking is the absolute best! So full of unique flavors. I would be vegetarian if I had their cooking everyday lol.
So good! CaliDOLL, thank you for the response! Yes it would be almost easy to leave meat far behind in India (well, many people do it every day!), the veg recipes leave nothing to want when it comes to flavor, youre totally right :) :) Greet your husband for me, and I wish both of you well today!
Hi Joel!!! Just finished watching your video! You look so happy and giddy in this one!😊 Love it! I love Indian food and saag is probably one of my favorites! It's very similar to luau stew I grew up eating made with cooking down taro leaves until it's thick and creamy almost like saag. Very similar in taste and texture. I love your outfit as well. I noticed it in your last video. The men and women wear it back in the islands and we call it lavalava. My parents only wear it back home LoL. I cook curry every so often because we eat it a lot back in the islands... just like in Fiji. The food looks delicious as always and you look like you were in food heaven for a moment 🤗. Have a safe and wonderful week Joel! Milk chai and butter nan cheers to you too my friend!🙏
Glad you enjoyed it Patsy, I am happy to see your name here, and happy to feel your positivity and enjoyment from this video... hope to see you for the next one!
Have a blessed week. Watching your videos makes me want to go to Thailand and hang out with the people there. So friendly and full of positivity. I can definitely use that about now.
Wonderful as aways ,awesome video, its wonderful to see different community cultures, what a great way to try food, much love and peace ,hugs and blessings, God bless you.
Thank you for your quick response, I will ho back to the store to look for wheat ones, I'm looking forward to trying them. Plus there's a international district in Albuquerque (a neighboring city)
Joel, your Thai is great! I love to hear stories of foreigners moving to other countries and starting a business. Everyone has the skills within them to do such. When I hear these types of stories I feel that Americans...even the poorest ones are spoiled!
Aw Tonya! Wow, thank you so much!! I havent started a business, but hey I feel you, and I feel the support, yes I have definitely made some sort of a life here, and I feel LUCKY each day. The things that I saw in the West, no offense to anyone but just honestly and openly referring to your comment, I saw that at times things were just too easy (for some! NOT for all!), and it causes a sort of laziness that in the end, results in people distancing from each other. When people do not have to work together to LIVE, life is very obviously not going along as it should - we need each other! And money is often times just as much a distraction as it is a means to getting what one wants. Thanks for the great words Tonya, I really appreciate your support, and Im also happy to see you thinking about these videos/stories and comparing them to what you see in your life around you - thats exactly what I want this channel to be!! Education, and motivation.
@@JoelsTastyRide I am an American. Since covid-19 reared its ugly head...I have seen "the good, the bad and the ugly" in people. This has caused me to do a lot of soul searching. (Without getting to religious), while everyone has suffered in some ways, what I have noticed is that the wealthy has suffered the most! Those less wealthy not as much because we (to include me) have done what we need to support ourselves and family without being extravagant! God said: "The meek shall inherit the Earth". Small businesses will once again rule the world. I do my best to support small businesses because without them many communities around the world would not exist!

Wow, I love how smart & brave the owner is for her to come up with a way to learn how to cook Indian food & open her own restaurant. Self motivations indeed!
"Lady Fingers" one has to love local slang; Musk melon for cantaloupe...I wish there was something that talked about all of the variations of Okra. I do enjoy the slime of cooked short okra in India cooking, but I've had slime-less okra that was at least a foot long and the flavor of the actual flesh was amplified. Indian batter fried slime-less foot long okra would be amazing. I would love to enjoy other varieties. There must be more... Anyone out there got ideas about that?

Never paired together but so delicious. I ask specially for it.

TheNimbus!! Amazing, those are some reflexes, ahaha, and I truly appreciate the support. So awesome, hope youre having a blast this Sunday evening! and a great Monday morning tomorrow!
Joel, many Thai people often mistakenly associate the dark skinned Burmese and Bangladeshi who travel the county selling "roti" and nuts with Indians. Similarly, all over the world (including here in the US), many of the so-called Indian restaurants are actually owned and run by Bangladeshis and even Nepalis. The Bangladeshis have prospered and moved on, and nowadays one does not find them toiling in the kitchens, they have been replaced by people of Mexican and central American origin. The food at Rajdarbar was closer to authentic North Indian (Punjabi) food as you know, but in my opinion the best Indian food is probably had in BKK. Have you tried the Royal India restaurant on Chakkraphet Rd? I believe it's the oldest/first Indian restaurant in Thailand! Take care 🙏
Good evening Joel, hope you had a safe Halloween (is Halloween celebrated in Thailand). I've seen nan (sorry if I mispelt it) sold in stores here, never have trial it though. I'm dietetic n unfortunately I've read the nutritional imfo on the page too much sugar content n carbs, is it compatible to a flour tortilla?
Hi Josephine!! Another great question, and thanks for taking the time to write me today. Ok, so about Nan bread, it can be made in many many different ways - surely the cheapest and most basic recipes will include a lot of white flour (and therefore, short chain sugars, which are fine if you lead a very active lifestyle! but maybe those who are less active should look for whole grains, wheat flour instead, which make great Nan bread as well!). I have had many different types of wheat even, red wheat, bulgur wheat, all of these are used around the world... Comparing to a flour tortilla, I am sure the dietary info would be almost exactly the same. Therefore, you can treat it the same as well, cutting back if youre wanting less carbs, or adding extra if (like me) you need thousands of calories from carbs every day for hours of high energy cycling :)
I don’t know why I’m searching Mae Sot up on RUclips. I was in Mae Sot as a refugee. I actually like my time there. It has been years, kinda miss Thailand.
Love this very interesting, informative video. The food looks amazing. I am so envious because we don’t have delicious food like that in Canada. Wow okra is such an an acquired taste! It's so much better with indian spices or Berbere (Ethiopian spice)...you kinda forget the slimy texture of it.😁 love to eat garlic nan bread that's drizzled with some olive oil and paired with curried stews! Take care! Blessings!
Hi Mark!! Hey great question, well, it wouldnt be TOO different from the rest of Thailand. If you want a rough estimate, I can just give you averages as I have experienced them from all the places in Thailand that I have lived. If you can handle living completely as a local, in the countryside, then you can live off of 400$ a month and be totally fine (I did that for more than 2 years). If you want a few things more, and want to take a few trips a year (domestic trips), and you want an AC unit in your house, then plan on around 700$ a month (this is how I lived for about 7 years of my life in Thailand). Finally, if you want to have some fun toys (like my new bicycle), and also really start taking care of your health in terms of food (not eating street food every day), then you are going to have to spend around 1000$ a month. This is for me, a single guy, without insurance, without a car, and a one-room apartment. And Mae Sot (Tak Province, the 'hot province' :) ), it would be roughly the same as these numbers I have shared with you. Much easier terms for Thailand could be something like this - anything traditional, anything that doesnt use technology - much cheaper than 'The West' anything modern, any new technologies - (much!) more expensive than 'The West'

Jose man! Super cool happy to see your name here, Hope all is well, going well today, and thank you for taking the time to watch!
In Fresno, CA, USA there are a significant number of Punjab, I love seeing how much they love where they are and how entrepreneurial they are. There are some very significant centers in our town. They add so much to our community in every way, elected officials in our representative society get a voice, they make my community very much like Mae Sot.
That naan makes my mouth water !! 😋😋😋
There are many Indian living in Bangkok. They owned many businesses and had been living in Thailand for hundred of years.
Hi Joel nice to see you again but no comment to day just enjoy your good meal and your day with new friends.
Thank you for taking me along on this journey! The food looks so incredible, I think I can taste it!! Extremely healthy! Thanks again!

I'm enjoying this series very much! As usual, I'm learning so much. Thanks again for all of your translations and explanations. I'm so blessed by how you faithfully pray before every meal. Your life is such a testimony! Love to Li!

Naan bread is super delicious. I used it to make ham egg and cheese wraps with siracha mayo and it was delicious. Roti and, chicken tikka masala, chai tea and palak paneer are my favorites. I remember one time I went to indian food with my family and I didn't like inidan food cause I was little and I ordered McDonald's and brought it to eat at the restaurant. I used to being food to eat at restaurants I don't like all the time .

Indian IS Asian. SOUTH Asian to be more specific (same with pakistan, both countries are in south asia)

Wow, I love how smart & brave the owner is for her to come up with a way to learn how to cook Indian food & open her own restaurant. Self motivations indeed!
Nice to see this! 😋
Joel and Li enjoyed this video and the food made me hungry, God bless you both, safe travels❤
Haven’t had indian food in ages, gettin’ hungry now☝🏽
Cool lady aswell.
Indian food yum

Hi Joel watching your video make me hungry send some food please😁
Love this ❤️. I grew up with Indian food in SA. My mom used to work for Indian people so she curried everything lol. We also have a lot of Indian influence in SA cuisine. Think my favourite would ha en to be palak paneer or paneer korma with lots of lovely naan bread to sop up the sauce. Sometimes I just order planner with mint chutney and naan. Never paired together but so delicious. I ask specially for it.
Amazing vlog my friend Joel and beside that testy indian food.

Like Indian food really good joel😀😀😀😀
Loveit!😋❤ @Joel Bruner
Take care 🙏
The Cycling Canadian brought me here :)
YOU'RE MAKING ME SOOO HUNGRY AAAAAAARGH XD ;-D Great video as always ;-)
Love this very interesting, informative video. The food looks amazing. I am so envious because we don’t have delicious food like that in Canada. We have Indian restaurants here, the food is very expensive and no where near the food you have there. I usually spend about $80.00 CAD before tips and still feel hungry....lol...
Waiting until after the US elections before I binge watch your videos. Been saving up lol.
HUA hahahaha what a message :). Oh my goodness, I can say its not the first time I am cracking up after your concise and awesome messages. WELL! I hope they keep you entertained, intrigued, also help you keep your mind off the hour by hour craziness that some people seem to live for... these elections are just uneblievable sometimes. That's a fantastic looking meal!
Really a great experience of Punjabi food outside Punjab. The bread baker is the best person in this video.
Would love to know about the cost of living in this hot province!
Much easier terms for Thailand could be something like this -
anything traditional, anything that doesnt use technology - much cheaper than 'The West'
anything modern, any new technologies - (much!) more expensive than 'The West'
@@JoelsTastyRide Thank you so much! It seems very manageable. The key is to be car free; cycling is a great way to transport oneself.
You speak Thai very well. English is very clear.
